Belle peeked out of the cat flap, and then put a dainty paw out. She launched herself out onto the green grass of the twoleg garden, and stopped dead in the middle of the lawn. She crouched down as she saw a fly, and jumped after it.
Cream padded out after her feisty kit, and lay in the sun, her creamy fur shimmering in the blazing sun.
Belle ran up to her mother and nuzzled her belly for milk. Then something caught her eye and she shot off again. |

Dainty pushed her little white muzzle out of the cat flap. She delicately padded over the grass and went to sit down beside her mother.

'Come on Dainty, come play!' mewed Belle.
Cream turned her head and looked at her two kits. She wondered where Loopy and Coffee were. As she said that, Coffee bounded through the cat flap and onto the lawn, then stopped to scent the air. 'Hello children.' he mewed. |

Belle saw her sister's face, and stalked off. She went round to the front of the twoleg house and stood watching a bird, a chaffinch she thought. She ran up to it to try and catch it, but it flew off ages before she got to it. She ran after it, but didn't see any more of it. She turned back and bounded round to the flower patch. There was catnip and chammomile, and some daffodils and poppies. She then ran over to her father and flicked her skinny tail at him. |

Dainty sighed and jumped on top of her mother. She started licking Cream all over, giggling when her mums fluffy pelt went up her nose.

Cream jumped up from her dozing position, and wrestled gently with her kit, before pinning her to the ground, grabbing her by the scruff of the neck and laying her gently by her mate. Coffee batted her with one paw and rolled her over. He then tickled her all over. 'Right, go and play with your sister while we recover from your mini attack.' Coffee mewed gruffly, and nudged her along. |

Dainty giggled and ran over to Belle. She cannoned into her sister and the kits rolled around in the grass, squealing and laughing.

Tala padded from her den, eyes down. She had stayed at the park all niht, frightening her twolegs so much that they had shut her inside for a whole day. Tala stretched her long legs daintily, before leaping up onto the fence. She spotted Coffee and two kits she did not recognize. She guessed that Cream had kitted. "Hullo Coffe,"[/b[ the dappled grey cat mewed. "Hullo children." |

Dainty stood up and looked at the strange cat. Her shyness overwhelmed her for a moment but then she looked up. "Who are you?" she squeaked, opening her mouth to take in the new cats smell.

"I'm Tala," Tala meowed to the kit. "I'm a friend of our father's, I think." Tala turned her sapphire-blue eyes on Coffee for a moment before turning back to Dainty. "Who are you, young kit?" |

Dainty listened to Tala and looked over at her father. She then turned back to the she-cat and said "Im Dainty. This is my sister Belle and my brother Loopy is asleep inside." she flicked her tail in Belles direction when she said her name.

"I'm fine, thanks Cream," Tala purred. It seemed her sorrows had been breifly forgotten in the company of her olf friends. "What lovely kits you two have." Tal leapt down from the fence to land gracefully near Cream. She pressed her muzzle into the pale she-cat's shoulder, before touching noses with Coffee. |

Taa stiffened breifly. She then relaxed. "Oh, not much. Sentres going off into that forest again, the stupid furball." It hurt to talk about the tom she loved but could not have, but she pushed the feelings away. Instead forcing a smile, she mewed; "I hope I can be a mother one day. You must be so proud." |

Dainty bounded over to the older cats and sat down between Coffee's front paws. She watched the cats intently. She licked a paw and drew it over her ear, copying her mother.

Cream had been friends with Tala and wasn't fooled. 'Are you going to tell me everything that happened while I was kitting, or do I have to hurt you?' joked Cream, her eyes glittering mischeviously.
Belle loped over to Dainty. 'Play with me!' she said, annoyed that her sister wouldn't play. |

Dainty rolled her eyes and leapt at her sister. She started chasing her round the garden giggling madly. "Im gonna get you!" she shouted, her short legs racing through the grass.

"EEK!" Dainty squealed and batted her sister with her paws. She wriggled free and ran over to her parents and Tala. She beckoned to Belle with her tail. " Lets sneak up on them!" she whispered excitedly.

'Dainty... I don't think that's a good idea...' she mewed, then a butterfly caught her eye and she leapt after it. It flew off a little distance, before Belle leapt after it again. |

Dainty giggled and batted her fathers paw with all four feet. She slipped away and then came back and lay down in between her mum and dad, soaking up the sun.

Belle saw her sister lie on the grass, and dropped so low that her belly was raking the ground. She slowly pulled herself forward behind her parents until she wasn't far away. Then she leapt on her sister, getting a mouthful of fur at the same time. |

Dainty twisted round and smacked her sister in the face with her front paws. Then she jumped on Coffee's back and lay down on his cosy pelt. She stuck her tongue at her sister and giggled.
