A small black furred beast rose to its thin paws, and began to stumble about in the half-light of the Blood Cave. It licked its lips as the scent of blood entised it. A shaft of cool moonlight hit the creature, and the features were revealed. It was a young cat. The black kitten stumbled about the stone floor, mewing faintly. Its eyelids lay shut over the eyes. It fell, grazing soft flanks on the slate. The kitten cried out, and the lids lifted. The kit's ambr eyes were revealed, and a single word came from betweem his velvetine lips: "Mamma!"

Easy slow breaths slid over the she-cats velveteen lips as she slept, her paws curled delicately at the ends and her tail twisted around her. It was rather obvious that the she-cat was asleep, washed over by a stray patch of silvery moonlight that was licking at her black fur. Eyes of deep mahogany red where hidden away behind her eye-lids. Blood was one tired she-cat; it hadn’t been long since she had had her first kitting and it had been a strain on her body. Her lips were curved into a neat little smile as she dreamt rather pleasant dreams. Only was it the cry of her kitten that awoke her from sleepy-land. “Apocalypse..” the word rolled off her tongue almost automatically as it clicked in her mind. Streaking forward she pelted through the many tunnels of the cave till she locked her eyes on the young tabby. Ah. It seemed all was well; he probably just needed a good feed. “What is it little one” she purred softly, her smooth voice braking out dipped in silk. Walking forward she rested herself beside him, sore strong grazed pads resting on her tail.

Apocolypse leant against his mother's tail, nursing a sore paw in his small pink maw. He blinked resentfully up at his mother with his glassy amber eyes. "Fell." He muttered angrily. He curled his tail over his tiny black paws, face sulky. His paw hurt. So did his flanks. He tasted blood on his tongue, then winced. The kit glared up at Blood, his little eyes screwed shut at the corners and his mouth half open s his paw slid out to hit the floor. A pool of scarlet blood formed there. "Hurt."

She had smelt it a few moments after she had sat beside her son, the tang of blood on the air then the grazed pad of her sons paw. With her face twisted into one of mild pity she nuzzled his neck a soothing purr slipping out her throat. So he had fell that explained it. Raising her own grazed paw she showed it too him. “So did I” she purred softly her eyes closing slightly. Bending down her head she turned his paw carefully over, her cool soft tongue bathing it in light licks. “It’s okay” she meowed, pulling him closer to her and curling herself around him. “Mama will make the pain stop” she continued, her soft licks continuing.

Apocolypse purred and leant into his mother's warm chest, his tiny body frail and col against her thick black fur. He snuggled into it, cheek brushing the silken sheen. His paw felt a lot better now. He blinked up at his mother again, eyes huge and glistening. He placed a chubby little paw on his mother's leg, the uninjured paw. "Thank-you's."

Blood chuckled and slicked at his fur, eyes narrowing slightly at she saw the state of him. His sides seemed rather frail. Laying down on her side she looked at him. "You need to feed you do, I'll have no son of mind underfed" she meowed, in a motherly tone that just didn't seem to fit her. Smiling at him she gave his forehead another little lick.

Apocolypse shook his head irritably. He didn't feel like suckling. He licked his sore paw, thinking of the animals that didn't breathe his father brought back for his mother. The cent of the blood on them had always made him feel sick to the stomach, but now the thought of the meat made his jaw water. The black kit mewed softly and stood up, shifting his paws restlessly. His amber eyes seemed to grow a depth of mahogany as the darkness shaded them, and as his mouth opened slightly, his canine teeth seemed to grow alarmingly pointed and curved, but as the wave of shadow shifted he returned to his innocent, childish self. He rolled over onto his back and blinked eerily up at his mother.

She narrowed her eyes slightly before sighing hopelessly; he was acting just like she had when she was small. She never really suckled much either. Rolling her eyes and licked him on the nose. Silly boy. Sighing a little she flicked her ears back, watching as the shadow slid over his delicate form. The strange change that grasped him made her blink just a little, a small smile curving over her lips. He was taking after his father he was. A small figure stalked grumpily through the shadows, an eerie aura of darkness seemed to float around it. Sin emerged out and sat by his mother, glaring out of the cave. He was silent as always, not breathing a word. Blood blinked at him and gave his ear a small lick. “Hullo Sin” she meowed, receiving no reply from him.

Apocolypse rolled onto his paws and bounced restlessly on his pads. His mouth was curled in a grim smirk. He padded the length of the room, his amber eyes flashing. He spotted his brothr and gave him a sharp-fanged, malicious grin. The black tom looked up at his mother balefully as she spoke. "Hello means nothing when goodbye constantly approches," the kitten mewed in strange tone.

Blood rolled her eyes again, sighing slightly she shook her head and nudge Apocalypse with one outstretched talon. “Mm, I’ll leave you two alone, no causing trouble” she mewed distantly before turning and stalking off into the depths of the caves the shadows seemingly swallowing her. Sin smirked back at him, his hooked vampire-like fangs glinting in a pale streak of moonlight. “You know when she says don’t cause trouble it means ‘do’ cause trouble, right?” he meowed, his cold smooth voice running out in a silky breathed whisper.

Apocolypse watched his mother leave them alone with eyes like two bright lanterns. He switched his blood-tinged gaze to his brother, giving the other tom kitten a quick, malicious grin, and nodded sharply. "Of course." The black kitten eyed the walls, breathing in the rank scent of blood. He grinned, tail twitching from side to side. He let one silver claw slide free of its sheath and began to scratch it over the stone floor. The sound was awful. "What next?"

Sin stretched lazily, his long glossy furred body quivering ever so slightly as he pushed the sleepiness out of his bones. Grinning back at his brother he let the tips of his long hooked fangs poke gently over his bottom lip. "Good boy, your learning." He hissed softly, a rough sand-paper chuckle wracking from his throat. Unsheathing his claws he ripped a claw mark over the one his brother had just made, making a sort of pattern on the cave floor. "Let's go outside" he said with a sly grin, turning around he moved towards the cave opening.

Apocolypse frowned haughilty, a sulky look in his dark amber eyes. He hated it when his brother acted older than him. He was just a good as stupid Sin. He narrowed his eyes and flicked his tail in displeased way. "Whatever." The black kitten pushed past his brother and padded into the next tunnel, one which he could faintly scent leaves and slush in. He did not hesitate as he peered out of the gloomy tunnel, then crossed the threshold into the chilly outside world. THe damp dregs of snow and water froze his pads as he stepped forwards.

"Sin! Apocalypse! What the hell do you think your doing?" An infuriated hiss shattered through the cave, rebounding off the walls and echoing outwards. A lithe shape darted through the shadows, her eyes sharp and scolding as she glared down at her two children. "Do you ever listen to what I say!" she spat, looming over Sin who's eyes had widened. The tom shrunk down, back from his mothers peircing gave a shiver capturing his body. "B-but mother, we were bored.. just going out side one wouldn't-" he was cut off by a second screech from his mother. "There are other cats out there you bee- brain, other cats that are stronger than you, they could hurt you and bite you, tear your and rip you! I could have lost both of you" she snapped out, tears starting to role down her cheeks.
