The dark branches of Razor Forest prevented the sun from spilling through to cause light to flood the ground. It remained as dark and cold as a leafbare night, as it had always been and would always be. The trees loomed up on either side of twisting paths and ringed gloomy clearings. Brambles barred the way between wide trunks, and prickly gorse furred parts of the ground. Dark greeb moss climbed up trees beside creeping ivy. A squirrel sat high in the branches of a large elm tree, sunning its whiskers. The only place the sun touched was the treetops, turning the leaves to a healthy greem while underneath they shrivelled and became black.
There was an air of danger, as if something, or someone, who did not belong had intruded in the dark depths of Razor Forest. As if one small part of the great stretch of woodland did not fit in the puzzle. Four snowy paws made a steady, unchanging rouge through a carpet of dead leaves, leaving behind a trail of crushed vegetation. The cat was coated in long, thick white fur, and her light blue eyes were troubled. A sharp scent covered her pelt; MoonClan. The she-cat, for it was female, was travelling through EclipseClan territory as if in a trance, a dream or a fantasy.
It was daughter of ice and blizzard, Spectreflame. The white warrior stopped abruptly, her her paws skidding in a patch of smooth moss. Her feathery plume of a tail lifted in confusion. She couldn't recall where she was. Last time she had looked, the Silver Rocks has sat before her eyes, in their shimmering majesty. Spectreflame twitched her whiskers. She knew where she was. She remembered it from the battle against EclipseClan. This was bad. She was wandered too far, much too far away from camp. And now she had to move, had to get out a soon as possible. She was in danger as long as she stayed where she was. he had to get out of EclipseClan territory.

A screech split the silence. Gillwing launched himself at the white warrioress, spitting. "Why are you here?" He demanded.

Oh no. A screech reached her sensitive ears, and Spectreflame leapt back in time to dodge the grey and white cat's attack. Her fluffy paws slipped and slided in the leaf litter, and she struggled to keep her balance. Her long white fur bristled in fear and anger. Spectreflame took a good look at her attacker. He was fairly young, with a handsome face and short grey and white fur. Spectreflame spat defiance, unsheathing her claws with a menacing hiss. "None of you business, mousefodder!" |

Spectreflame suddenly reliezed, with a feeling of icy dread, that she would have to fight this car. She hissed into the tom's face, leaping at him as he charged. She landed on his shoulders, trying to keep a hold on the smooth grey and white fur. She slipped free but the claws of one paw stayed in the EclipseClan cat's shoulders. Wrenching them free, Spectreflame reared up on her hind legs, fur and tail bristling to make her look even bigger. She bared her sharp white fangs, blue yes gleaming with the light of battle. |

Gillwing crouche down, hoping she would attack his back. His fur bristled angrily across his spine, making him look much bigger.

Spectreflame leapt again, trying to fix her claws into the warrior's shoulders. She hissed furiously at him, hoping with all her heart that no reincforcements would arrive. If hey did, she was as good as dead. But she would never back down, not to any cat. Especially not to a snivelling, mangy EclipseClan cat! The longhaired white warrior opened her mouth in a yowl of defiance, her face twisted with rage. She would nevr go down. She would fight. She was a MoonClan warrior! |

Gillwing leaped up, forcing his front paws into the cat's stomach. He yowled again, and heard pounding paws.
Razortomb raced across the turf, and leaped onto Spectreflame, slamming his shoulder into her face.
Firestar heard the yowl of Gillwing as she padded around Silver Rocks. She smelled Spectreflame and charged over. She pulled Razortomb off and bit his hind leg, sending him screaming into the bushes. All that was left was Gillwing, Spectreflame, and Firestar.

Spectreflame fell backward with a spit of anger. She lashed her forepaws at the grey and white cat's face, hoping to strike painful places. She froze as a yowl reached her ears. No! A black cat leapt at her, and her nose smarted as he forced his shoulder into her face. A ginger flash appeared, pushing the black cat away. It disappeared into the bushes. Firestar! Spectreflame pushed the EclipseClan warrior off her with her paws and pinned him, teeth bared.
Beacanpaw raced from the bushes, his yellow eyes gleaming with anger. Gillwing was in danger! The tan apprentice had been patrolling with Razortomb. There was no sign of the black warrior now, but the apprentice flung himself into the battle nonetheless. Beacanpaw threw himself at Firestar, aware that she was a lot bigger and stronger than him. He lashed out at her chest with sharp claws, his face distorted with pure hatred. |

Gillwing struggled under Spectreflame and finally threw her off. He turned and threw her to the ground.
Firestar swiped the apprentice in the chest, snagging fur on her claws.

Spectreflame's eyes watered in pain as she slammed against the hard earth. She sprang to her paws, pain ringing through each limb. The white she-cat darted forwards, sezing one of the warrior's pointed ears in her sharp teeth. She pulled and pulled, wanting to tear through the thin skin. She slashed at the tom's chest with her forepaws as she did this, anchoring her body with her hind paws. Spectreflame's eyes glowed into the EclipseClan's cat's, filled with moons-old hatred and rivalry.
Beacanpaw jumped bck as Firestar lashed out at him. Her claws reached only fur, tugging out a tuft of his creamy chest fur. He had been lucky. Beacanpaw crouched, creeping forwards, frantically trying to recall all that Fernpelt had ever taught him. He darted under the ginger cat's belly and leapt upwards, hoping his move had worked. Beacanpaw hissed in anger, though inside he was full of exhilaration. He would give his life to defend EclipseClan! |

Firestar was pushed upwards. She propelled her claws downward and slashed at the cat as she came back towards him.
Gillwing's ear ripped. He let out a caterwaul and slashed at the warrior's eyes.

Beacanpaw yowled as Firestar's claws slashed his shoulder. The light brown tom darted around her, leaping onto her back nimbly. He ripped with sharp claws, tearing anything that he could reach. Ginger fur, flesh. His shoulder stung furiously and he could feel blood dribbling down his leg. His old scar had been ripped open by Firestar's claw flick.
Spectreflame drew back as she sensed Gillwing's claws reaching for her. They cut oprn her muzzle, and the white she-cat tasted blood. Spitting out a mouthful of her own blood, Spectreflame hesitated, gasping for breath. She couldn't keep this up much longer. The MoonClan warrior bared her teeth and leapt again, charging headlong for Gillwing. She hoped to knock the warrior over and pin him. THem she could do some real damage. But she wasn't sure her strategy would be sucessful. |

Gillwing saw her running at him and jumped nimbly out of the way. He leaped onto her shoulders and went to bite her shoulders.
Firestar slashed at the apprentice and went to bite him.

Beacanpaw was dislodged from Firestar's shoulders by her slash. He landed heavily on the ground and attempted to get up again. HIs legs would not take his weight. He lay there, injured and bleeding, as he watched Firestar approach again. As she lunged, as if to bite him, he hut his eyes tight and prepared to meet StarClan. He knew from bitter experience that MoonClan would show him no mercy. Especially not their leader. The apprentice thought of his mother and Sunpaw, and then his father and Aspenkit. This was the end. He was sure of it.
Spectreflame hissed angrily as Gillwing leapt out of the way. Her legs nearly buckled beneath her as a weight landed on her back, but she managed to keep her footing. She noticed, out of the corner of her eye, that Firestar had floored the other cat. Spectreflame felt fangs connect in her shoulder and spat in pain. She rolled over onto her back. Over and over, trying to crush the air out of her attacker, and, ultimately, dislodge him. |

Gillwing sheathed his claws and pushed away Spectreflame. "Beacanpaw!" He ran to the apprentice, and slashed Firestar before she could connect with Beacanpaw.

Spectreflame hissed as Gillwing pushed her away. She rolled over on the grass, her scratches and bites stinging fiercely. He heard the EclipseClan warrior yowl and leapt to her paws. She did not flinch though her injuries throbbed. The white warrior raced to Firestar's side, slashing Gillwing's cheek. She seized his throat in sharp teeth and shook him from side to side, hissing.
Beacanpaw managed to struggle to his paws. I'll go and get reinforcements! The apprentice limped rapidly towards the EclipseClan camp, hoping the MoonClanners would not notice. He prayed to StarClan that Gillwing would not think he was running away. HIs injuries seared with pai, and he left a trail of blood and crushed ferns behind him. He felt lightheaded, as if he would lose consciousness any moment. |

Gillwing ripped his throat from the warrior. gone to get reinforcements, he thought about Beacanpaw. Leaping towards Spectreflame, he slashed at her.
Firestar smashed her head into Gillwing's side.

Spectreflame screeched as her blood spurted from the deep wound Gillwing gouged in her chest. Weakened, she shook her head from side to side. The white warrior spotted Firestar butting against Gillwing's side, and darted forwards like an adder. She snapped at Gillwing's tail, sinking her fangs and pulling hard. She slashed at Gillwing's hind paws with her fore claws, blue eyes burning with anger. |

Gillwing screeched in agony and ripped his tail free. He slashed at the white warrior, but couldn't hit properly. He screeched loudly as hishead came down upon a rock.
Firestar laughed and attacked the warrior to kill.
Gillwing slashed at the leader, claws meeting her nose.

Spectreflame narrowed her eyes as Gillwing slashed her leader's nose. The white she-cat barreled into the grey and white tom's side, slashing with her claws all the while. She didn't know where that apprentice had limped off to. Probably dragged himself under a bush and died, she thought, with a flare of spiteful satisfaction.
Beacanpaw had sounded the alarm. His mother Scrawltale burst from the trees, a patrol of fresh cats behind her. The bronze-coloured warrioress leapt on Firestar, ripping her shoulders with thorn sharp claws while she sank her fangs into her neck. "I'll teach you to hurt my son!" she screeched, her voice filled with a mother's anger. The warrior sank her claws in deep and ripped and tore, eyes flashing with malice. |

Firestar felt the teeth and she dropped limply. She was losing a life.
Gillwing felt one cat off of him and he managed to pull her off.
Spicetalon leaped at Spectreflame and slicd at her head.

Scrawltale leapt neatly off her enemy, satisfied. She kicked at Firestar's limp head with one hind paw before launching herself at Spectreflame. With Spicetalon she slashed and bit the warrior, her yellow eyes fired with anger and battle light. She wanted to avenge her son, and felt satisfacyion radiate through her wih each slash. She felt thick white fur and flesh tear under her claws, and fought harder still.
Spectreflame screamed in pain as Spicetalon and Scrawltale attacked her from both sides. Her white fur littered the ground and blood streamed from all sides of her body. The she-cat feebly tried to fight back, but Scrawltale's claws caught her off guard and she collapsed. The white warrior tried several times to get to her paws but failed. She remained slumped on the grass, barely conscious, her body a mass of agony. |

Firestar awoke and charged over to Spectreflame. She grabbed the cat by her scruff and dragged her back to Moonclan territory. "It's not over," She hissed, plotting her revenge.
Spicetalon yowled his happiness. "We have won!" He raced back to camp.
Gillwing lifted himself and limped back to camp.

Spectreflame spat out clots of blood as she felt Firestar's teeth in her scruff. Her torn state prevented her from spitting a threat, as Firestar had, but the look in her blue eyes said it all. She shut her eyes and tried to ignore the agony of her wounds as Firestar dragged her back to the MoonClan camp.
Scrawltale purred with happiness and triumph. She felt a slash on her flank sting and her cheek rip blood, but she was nowhere near as badly injured as Gillwing and Beacanpaw. The stout warrior offered Gillwing her shoulder to lean on, and helped the injyred warrior as they padded victoriously back to camp. |

Shakenleaf arrived too late, to see Firestar dragging Spectreflame back to camp. Firestar was bleeding badly. Little did he know she had lost a life, or he would have attacket straight away. He glared at the EclipseClan cats and hissed- "You'll pay, you worthless bunch of fox-dung" He didn't wait, knowing him still being on their territory gave them prefect reason to kill him there, and he caught up with Firestar. "I'll help carry her," He meowed. "It'll be better if her back end is off the ground." He lifted Spectreflame onto his shoulders and continued on with Firestar.

"Th-Thank you," Meowed Gillwing as he leaned on the warrior. He limped home, feeling proud that he defended his clan.
Firestar nodded her thanks. "When we get back, I need to talk to you in my den." She meowed to Shakenleaf.

Spectreflame's breath was coming in gasps. She swallowed painfully. Through the scent of blood from her torn muzzle, she could sense that another cat had arrived. She drew in a painful breath, and looked up at Firestar. Pain and guilt showed bright in her light blue eyes, and her torn body tensed in anguish. "I'm sorry," her voice was barely more than a pained whisper. "This is all... all my fault." |

"No, no, no," She meowed reasurringly, "You were lost in a daze. I've done it many of times." She smiled at the warrior. "You know it was an accident, and we'll make Eclipseclan pay." She vowed.

Spectreflame smiled weakly. "Yes." She bared her fangs in a breif snarl of defiance, then shut her eyes. She was exhausted. Her long plume of a tail dragged in the dust, gathering dirt in its white hairs. Spectreflame did not seem to care. The blood on her pelt was beginning to dry, so that she looked as if she had aqquired scarlet stripes. |
