Tala padded out into her garden, her soft grew pawpads caraseed by the springy green grass, She sighed, her light blue eyes troubled. She had just lft Coffee and Cream with their daughters and unseen son, and felt a surge of envy in her veins. Love did not seen to want her, but she wanted it anyway. Maybe Sentres wasn't right for her? But she had never felt like this about ny other tom. A sense of misty confusion, swirling with affection and like for the tom. The dapled grey she-cat leapt upon her white painted fence, landing neatly. Her woflish fur was ruffled slightly in the light breeze that tugged at her paws. She needed to talk to Sentres, but he wasn't here. Would he ever talk to her again? Not even.. As a friend?

Sentres was padding home from Sparrow-Wing Park when he noticed Tala. He was sure he'd made his decision. He was sure he'd picked the right one...he hoped.

[ooc;] Did Razor quit?

Tala did not notice Sentres approaching. She was too caught up in her thoughts and worries. She did love Sentres. Very much. She wanted to be with him, to stand beside him, to call him her mate and to mother his kits. She longed for him to love her back, but surely he loved Moon more? She was smarter, prettier...

Sentres realized Tala took no notice and leapt on the fence. "Tala..." he mewed softly.

[SHADE. :D]

[cuz your presence still lingers here .]

Tala looked up. Sentres. She looked at her paws again, not strong enough to look him in the eye, or even just the face. "Why are you here?" Her voice ws not accusingly, just quietly curious. She stayed hunched on the fence, her tail wrapped about her paws, her eyes on her paws and her ears bent backwards.

Sentres bit his lip and shuffled his paws nervously. "Tala," he began, "I don't know how to say it, but I...you...I think...you...you're the one..." He trailed off, unsure how the dappled she-cat would respond.

[SHADE. :D]

[these wounds won't seem to heal .]

Tala stayed silent for a moment. She then looked up at Sentres properly. Her pale blue eyes were troubled. "Me...?" She thought of Moon, jealousy crying and blaming her, hating Sentres, hating their family and friends. "Really?" She suddenly felt piercingly happy, but she blotted out the emotion by asking; "What about Moon?"

[this pain is just too real .]

^{Sentres sighed. "Moon...she's a great friend. But...I feel less mature than her. I don't mean it in a bad way to you. I mean, I feel a bit more free spirited. You are more like that to me. I'm not saying she's not free-spirited, but do you understand?" He hoped he'd not said anything to offend her or Moon at all.}

[there's just too much that time cannot erase .]

Tala felt a sudden rush of happiness fill her. "I hate Moon," he said viciously. She then looked at her paws, wishing she hadn't spoken. When she looked up again, she spoke. "Anyway, Moon's family are moving. They left this morning. Without saying goodbye." Tala narrowed her eyes. "You knew, didn't you? Is that why you choose me?"

Tala felt ashamed. "Sorry." She was unsure whether to move closer to Sentres or not. Instead she shuffled closer before jumping back, burning with embarrasment.

Sentres smiled good-naturedly. "No need to be embarrassed," he mewed.

Tala padded carefully along the fence until she crouched beside Sentres, her fur brushing his. Immediatly she forgot her awkwardness and thrust her nose into the tom's cheek, tears dribbling from her eyes as a smile formed on her lips. "I love you."

Sentres smiled back at the pretty dappled she-cat. "I love you too," he purred.

Tala pressed her muzzle against Sentres', smiling. She felt as if she could just sit here with him forever.
