Cream lay in her comfortable bed panting. Coffee had come back not long ago, about when the convulsions had started. He was now gently licking her ear, while the pain got worse and the convulsions got stronger. The first kit was coming, and Cream squealed in agony. Suddenly there was a small bundle of brown and white fur lying beside her. She pushed hard, and another scrap of fur was beside her, this time brown with white paws and a white nose. Coffee was licking the two kits repeatedly. Cream let out one more scream of agony and the last kit was born. This kit was cream, like her, but with brown paws, tail and ears. She lay there for a moment, then nudged her three healthy looking kittens towards her so they could suckle.
