Puppetflame --- one, two they're coming for you
His orange tabby body was plenty visible against the greenleaf foliage. Lids covered amber eyes before revealing them again in a quick second. His small paws barely left imprints in the slightly damp soil. He sprayed a tree on the border before moving on.
He came to the Eclipse Lake. He hadn't been on this part of the territory since he had first became an apprentice. The tomcat walked to the shore, dipping his paws in the cool liquid. It felt good, he moved further into the water, the aqua surrounding him and cleansing his fur.
three, four lock your door
Puppetflame closed his deep amber eyes and relaxed. It had been a very long time since he relaxed. He floated in the water, letting the current push him back and then pull him in. He could feel a fish dart by his left forepaw. It tensed, waiting for the warrior's claws to unsheath and catch it's scales but nothing happened so it continued on it's way, considering this a miracle.
He watched as the shiny scales drifted further into the darkness of the depths. Sooner or later Puppetflame could feel the sand beneath his paws which caused him to have to start swimming. He paddled his way back to shore, his coat dripping wet. He shook himself, his fur fluffing out. He smoothed it down with his tongue and sat down. He looked out toward the horizon, the sun was going down.
five, six stop playing those tricks His amber eyes were warm and soft as he watched the fiery sun go down. The sky shone many pastels, pink, orange, yellow, blue, purple. Then the colours disappeared quickly replaced with black and dark blue, with the many shiny dots of Silverpelt. He admired the night sky and noticed a shooting star. He sighed, Another loyal cat, gone. He knew you were supposed to make a wish when you saw one but he couldn't think of any. "Why should I make a wish," he said to himself, "When I've already got all that I wanted?"
Puppetflame yawned, lying down and rolling onto his back. He examined Silverpelt and the moon. The luna. He smiled gently and let his thoughts wander. He had always wanted a family of his own. He always was capable of imagining it too. Three bouncy, fluffy kittens and a beautiful mate, then him. A washrag orange tom and the only soft things about him were his eyes and smile."all those feelings, those yesterday's feelings, will all be lost in time. but today, i've wasted away, for today is on my mind. i can't care to worry, i'm feeling so lonely, breaking apart all this love in my heart." Make it go away, I don't wanna see it anymore! The agony, the pain, It hurts too much!
Mahoganyflight
Mahoganyflight had to leave the camp. She had been in it all day, then had to go to the gathering. She wanted some alone time. She padded up to the Eclipse Lake. Ah, peaceful here. She thought to herself. She lay down in the sand near the shore of the lake. She didn't notice Puppetflame out in the lake. She closed her eyes and let the gentle breeze ure her into a doze.
Mahoganyflight woke up suddenly when she heard a splash. She looked to the lake and saw a tom coming out of the lake. She realized that it was Puppetflame. She padded up to him. 'Hello. How are you?' She asked her clanmate. She looked around at the lake. 'Beautiful place, eh?' She asked casually, sitting down and staring out at the lake. 'It makes me think that life can go on. That there is still goodness in our world.' She mewed unexpectedly. She looked up at the tom. 'Sorry, sudden outburst there.' She grinned at him. [/blockquote]

Puppetflame -- He jumped slightly at the smooth voice. He look to his left, recognizing Mahoganyflight, a warrioress whom he never really talked to.
"'It makes me think that life can go on. That there is still goodness in our world."
The tom nodded, "Mhmm."
"Sorry, sudden outburst there."
He shook his head, "No need to apologize, I think you're right. If only that damned Tribe hadn't come the clans would be at peace and not so tense." He blinked slowly, his amber eyes reflective in the moonlight. Starshine sparkled off the lake, giving it an eerie glow. Puppetflame smiled warmly, the cool night breeze sweeping him up.
"Ahh, that breeze feels good, especially after a long day..." he said, half to himself. The tom rolled back over and sat up. He looked at Mahoganyflight, "So, how is your family?"

Mahoganyflight
Mahoganyflight nodded in agreement to Puppetflame's words about the Tribe. 'Yeah, if the Tribe didn't come, then I'd still have a mother. Crowfeather and Brokensoul would still be alive. The Tribe tore us apart. All the clans.' She sighed. Normally, if she were talking about the death of her mother, she'd start crying. Not now. She was empty of tears. A hollowness filled her. She felt so far away from her siblings. Toweringheart didn't even speak to her anymore. Sphinxtale was still very upset and Mavericksky didn't seem to want to talk to her either. She felt like the outcast of her family.
Puppetflame's question about her family brought her back from memories. She opened her mouth to lie and say that they were doing fine, but she couldn't bring herself to do that. She looked at Puppetflame. 'I wish that I could tell you that we were fine. You saw how Sunheart's death tore us all up. I had a fight with Toweringheart and now he won't speak to me. It seems that Mavericksky hates me and Sphinxtale is just... just out of it. She's not the same anymore! I don't know what to do! It seems like we are falling apart! Maplepaw seems okay, I just don't know, though. It's all so upsetting to me.' She sighed, feeling better that she got that off of her. 'Thanks for letting me dump that on you.' She mewed at him. She looked at him again. 'How are you coping after the battle?' She asked, cuyrious to see how the tom was. [/blockquote]

Puppetflame -- "Yea," he mewed, shuffling his forepaws, slightly nervous around the she-cat He was wary around all cats. But he talked, he needed a friend.
"How are you coping after the battle?"
The orange tabby tom zoned out. The battle. His family. he barely had a family anymore, he didn't consider his mother family anymore and he knew he would never see his father, Geeth, again. His brothers had run off when they were apprentices, too. "I don't have a family to cope about it with," he said, breathless.
Then he began his story.
"I was born to a warrioress and a rogue. I've only met my father twice, his name is Geeth. I took over my mother's genes so I look nothing like him but my brothers did. My mother is Silentvoice, I'm sure you know her. I don't consider her my mother anymore, though. She betrayed my father and me and my brothers. She mated and fell in love with another tom, she had another family." His teeth gritted slightly with vengeance. Then he continued, "I'm sure you know them, too, they're apprentices: Chainpaw, Melonpaw, Heatherpaw, and Blightpaw." He said their anmes with distaste, lowering his head, "My step-father's name is Kestrelcalling, he was killed in battle." His lips curled up in a malicious, defiant smiled but the corners fell back into a frown. "My former mentor, Smallthorn, didn't train me much so instead I had trained myself. Smallthorn was moved to the Elder's Den after I had become a warrior... And that, is my story."
Puppetflame locked eyes with Mahoganyflight, his ambers eyes fiery with anger at his family.

Mahoganyflight Mahoganyflight nodded as Puppetflame talked about his history. 'Yep. I remember them.' She mewed. When he finished, she lightly brushed up against him in a comforting way. 'The past is behind you know. Look to the future. Anything can be possible. You just need to be able to cope with the past and not let it... ruin... you.' She realized what she was saying. It rang true for what had become of her. She nedded to look to the future, not dwell on the past.
Mahoganyflight looked at Puppetflame. 'I guess we both need to move on. What do you think?' She meant nothing about being mean. She looked out to the lake and back. She needed someone she could talk to. Someone she could trust. [/sup][/blockquote]

Puppetflame -- He tensed slightly as she brushed up against him. The last time a cat had touched him had been the last time his mother had groomed him, which had been a very long time ago. He smiled slightly, digging his paws into the ground.
"I guess we both need to move on. What do you think?"
He nodded, "I guess..." The warrior looked up at the stars, a peaceful, melancholy mood draping over him like a veil. Puppetflame yawned slightly, examining the moon. "Hey," he mewed, "Is it just me or does the moon have the face of a twoleg?"

Mahoganyflight
Mahoganyflight noticed Puppetflame tense up. She abcked off slightly, mewing as she did. 'Sorry.' She laughed when he mentioned the moon looking like a twoleg's face. 'Haha. I guess it does! I guess there's a twoleg on the moon!' She looked up at the sky again. She noticed Silverpelt shining. Are you up there, Sunheart? Watching over me? Or were you taken by the Tribe? She asked the shining warriors silently. She stretched out on the sandy beach, watchnig the sky. [/blockquote]

Puppetflame -- He smiled slightly, "No. It's okay, I've always been... cautious around cats. I'm not very sociable." He lay down on his side, his tail curling up and the tip twitching. Puppetflame watched the water lap up on the shore like a tongue. It reminded him of a story his mother used to tell him and his siblings.
"Have you ever heard the story about the Throat of the Sea?" he mewed, looking at Mahoganyflight with quizzical eyes.

Mahoganyflight Mahoganyflight rolled over onto her side to get more comfortable. She looked at Puppetflame. 'No, I don't think I've heard that one. What is it?' She asked, interested. Mahoganyflight loved stories. She used to love to go into the Elder's den and listen to their stories. She always wanted to listen to new stories. 'Go on, tell me!' She mewed happily. She gazed out at the lake. She felt at peace here, like she left all her problems at camp. She had nothing to worry about here.
Mahoganyflight rolled back onto her stomach and looked at Puppetflame. She waited for him to start. [/sup][/blockquote]

Puppetflame -- He chuckled, "Alright. Alright, I'll tell you."
He stretched his toes, trying to remember the story. "Ok, I got it, here we go."
"Once upon a time, way back when before the clans ever existed, there were six cats. There names were Jevro, Krenda, Istreda, Lik, Yzan, and Hethan. Jevro was the leader, a beautiful white she-cat with stunning leaf-green eyes. Then there was Lik, he was what you'd call the right-hand cat. He was a buff brown tom who would hunt for the cats. Istreda, a ginger tabby she-cat, was Lik's mate and she was pregnant with their kits. And Yzan, Krenda, and Hethan would protect the cats. They were what you would call a mini clan." He paused for a moment to clean his paw then continued.
"They were friendly with the twolegs but weren't kittypets. They dwelled in the streets on the twoleg places. They moved around, for they never stayed in one place for too long. Then one day when they were staying in a twoleg's yard, Istreda went into labor. She gave birth to six beautiful kits, all of them healthy and strong. There was a white tom, a brown tabby she-cat, a ginger she-cat, a orange and white tom, a silver tabby she-cat, and brown mackerel and white tom. There names were, in the order I said them of course, Tert, Kippa, Gerado, Ophelia, Aur, and Bli.
"They were rambunctious little things, constantly on the move, it was so hard to keep track of them. Now, one day when the pack of cats were traveling by the coast, Bli, the wily one, tumbled down a hill onto the shore of the sea. He tumbled into the sea and drowned. Istreda had chased him as far as she could go and would've went further if Lik hadn't stopped her. She sobbed for hours, laying at the beach." He stopped again to breathe, then continued.
"Then she heard a deep, rhythmic voice. 'Why do you cry so?" said the voice. Istreda turned her puffed eyes to the direction of the voice: The sea. 'My son,' she answered, her voice dry. 'He tumbled into the sea and drowned and I cry for my loss.' The voice seemed to cough, 'So that is what is stuck in my throat?' It hacked and wheezed and Bli soon appeared, floating on the waves. The current brought Bli's body to the shore. Istreda grabbed her son, pulling his wet form close to her ginger body. She began to cry again and the voice, the sea, took pity on her. 'I could help you if you'd like, but you would have to give your son back to me,' said the voice. Istreda looked out to the horizon, 'How could you help me?' The sea seemed to sigh, 'If you put your son back into my waters I promise you'll have him back after sundown alive and healthy.'
"Istreda's eyes shimmered with hope, 'Oh would you?' The sea said, 'I promise you.' The she-cat licked the top of her kit's still head and let him go into the waters. He sunk to the bottom and she said one last thank you and returned to her mate's side. The little pack found refuge in a hollow tree and waited until sundown. Istreda returned to the shore and called out, 'Sea! It is sundown, where is my boy?'
" 'Your son is fine, we were just talking weren't we?' the sea's voice seemed to be directed at a different location. Istreda looked toward the spot. She recognized her son's brown and white pelt. Her eyes filled with all the love they could handle and she rushed blissfully over to her kin. She pulled him close to her and called out to the sea, 'Oh, thank you sea. Thank you for getting him stuck in your throat otherwise I would've lost him forever. Thank you!'" Puppetflame finished and smiled at Mahoganyflight.
"And so ends the story of The Throat of the Sea," he looked to ward the moon, which was high in the sky by now.

Mahoganyflight
Mahoganyflight stared at Puppetflame in amazement. 'That... that was a wonderful story! The ocean saved the kit! And at no cost!' She looked back at the lake. Could the story be true? It would be amazing if there was such a thing as an ocean's throat. Mahoganyflight gazed around the lake, wondering if lakes could have throats. She looked back at Puppetflame. 'You tell stories very well. I felt like I was there with the cats. It was amazing. Thank you!' She purred at the tom.

Puppetflame -- He smiled at her praise, happy she liked his fable. "You're very welcome, come visit me whenever you want, I'll always have a story at hand." He pawed at a weed before turning his attention to the moon. It was starting to lower. "My, we've been out for almost the whole night now and for some odd reason I'm not tired a bit, but I know I'm gonna be in the morning, which isn't good for a young warrior like the both of us," he mused, yawning slightly in the middle of it. He scratched an itch behind his ear and looked at Mahoganyflight with a bit of too much care.
Was it true this washrag was falling in love? Psh. Yeah right, Puppetflame thought, licking his chest.

Mahoganyflight
Mahoganyflight looked at Puppetflame and nodded. 'I may just take you up on that offer.' She mewed playfully. She stood up and stretched, srching her back and stretching out her forepaws. She did the same with her back paws. She sat down and listened to Puppetflame's next words. She looked out at the moon. 'It's a shame that we have to leave so soon.' She mewed. She yawned, suddenly realizing how tired she was. 'Wow! I'm tired!' She realized. She got up. 'All right, let's go.' She mewed resentfully. She missed the look in Puppetflame's eyes. She looked back at the moon. 'Everyone's gonna wonder where we are.' She realized. She padded to the edge of the trees and sat down, waiting for Puppetflame.

Puppetflame --- He stood, following Mahoganyflight. His pelt was almost dry, for the moon didn't cast heat like the sun. Instead it seemed colder. He sneezed, "Oh! It seems I might have the sniffles now," he inferred, catching up to the warrioress.
Puppetflame examined the forest around him. Trying his best to pass the time on their way back to camp.
