He wasn't sure if he was allowed to, but he didn't care. He wanted to get out of that camp for a while. The tortoiseshell hadn't been out training or on a hunting patrol for a long time now. He was sure Gillwing had forgotten about him by now. Go figure.
Not like it mattered. Corbynpaw's attitude was beginning to rub off a bit on him. The apprentice didn't care much whether he ever became a warrior or not. But he did want a little exercise. For the past few moons he'd been shut up in the camp, doing odd jobs. Cleaning the elders' bedding, searching their pelts for ticks and fleas, helping the medicine cat sort herbs. It was all annoying and boring and a waste of time.
Silentpaw just wanted a life. It wasn't too much to ask for, was it?[/sup]

Gillwing watched his apprentice pad away from camp and had known something troubled him. "Silentpaw.. I'm sorry I haven't been keeping up with your mentoring.. How about some training right now?" He asked his sorrowful apprentice.

The tortoiseshell apprentice came to a sudden halt as he heard his mentor's voice. He twitched a moment, anger surging through him. But the selene personalty he had within kept him from showing it to Gillwing. Yes, Corbynpaw's personality was rubbing off a bit on him, but not enough to make him deliberately hurt another cat's feelings or talk much. Silentpaw whipped his head around to face the warrior. His eyes were narrowed; the apprentice still felt mad, but they quickly realized that Gillwing really meant it. Silentpaw's eyes quickly opened more, showing sorryness for being so uncaring for that moment. Then he smiled saying the first word he'd said in many moons.
"Yes."[/sup]

Gillwing smiled back. "Alright. What do you want to do first?" He meowed, "fighting, hunting?" He began to pad to the training area, as there was a lot of prey around there and it was perfect for fighting.

Silentpaw shrugged his shoulders. He didn't care, whichever one. He was just happy to train. The last time they went out to train, it was interrupted by Glacierstripe. The apprentice had been able to understand the warrioress' nervousness around Gillwing. It was too obvious she'd liked him, but his mentor had been totally oblivous to every sign. He simply smiled back to his mentor, hiding the amusement he felt within.[/sup]
