"We are not weak!" Saintcalling's voice struck out like a viper's. "But we are not StarClan! Every Clan has their troubled spots, Grieverstone, but we'll come through. By following the guidance of StarClan, we can continue through this plight! Have you not talked to them, praying to them for their assistance?" The tuxedo tom's scowl never wavered during this as his eyes bored into the medicine cat's.

Grieverstone growled and hissed, "I have not lost my faith in StarClan, Saintcalling, but I have not gotten any message from them. My fighting skills are still sharp, and I'm not scared of you, any of you! The Tribe of Nightmares has stolen all the cats that have been heading to StarClan. I bet Brokenheart is already there." The medicine cat turned with swish of her tail and stalked in to the forest, her tail high and defiant. "StarClan, where are you?" she whispered.

An ebon figure was outlined near Grieverstone's den. The she-cat was silent through the debate, quietly listening to the comments thrown around. Ears flicked slightly though a look of grief has crossed her gaze, the elder she had come to respect had died. Saintcalling you should show more respect for your medicine cat, shes dealing with enough at the moment and your criticism is not helping! the deputy snapped at the warrior. Yes, Sorrowfrost has been ill but she pulled through just as MoonClan would, they always did. Her tail flicked angrily several times. Such feelings would not help the Clan in any way. I would like to see you put forth as much effort as Grieverstone is, she has several clan members to care for you would be best to give her the credit she deserved she finished watching the warrior with equal intensity.

Grieverstone's ear flicked and she purred, "Thank you, Sorrowfrost," she said, but continued to walk in to the forest, she needed some more herbs anyways.

Saintcalling's eyes narrowed dangerously, but the regal tuxedo tom dipped his head. He really didn't feel like getting into a conflict right now. "Aye, my pardon, Grieverstone, Sorrowfrost," he muttered solemnly. He flicked his tail, curling it around him. Inwardly, he fumed. The tom growled and turned away from his deputy, turning to Heavysand.
"I'm about to go. You still coming?"

&&.we're falling together; embracing the mystery . it's all we've got
A gossamer finger of doubt was carressing Pearlblade's mind. Her thoughts, so very tainted with uncertainty and entoxicated by fear, were intombed within her skull, and she had no wish to express them. The she-cat's thick coat, just beginning to show a shroud of silver hair, was bristling on her shoulders, as though she were unconsciously locked in furious combat. The elder swung her tail through the air, lashing it through nothingness as though attempting to gather her thoughts. Her eyes, so similarly hued to ice, were fixed on small forepaws as she gave a tiny cough, as if to speak. Her leader had requested her opinion, and so she was bound to give it. "I am frightened for my son, Firestar," her voice was soft, as though a light breeze could blow the words back down her throat. "Yet I cannot doubt StarClan's wisdom. They have walked with me all of my life, helping and guiding me." Pearlblade shut her eyes, her expression that of painful serenity. "This is not my future to bargain." Her eyes swept breifly to Frozenstar, before fixing quickly back onto her paws.
So smug. Always so smug. Spectreflame's eyes were narrow and rich with venom as she glared at Greiverstone. The white cat twitched her ear, as though in a silent threat. Her every movement was tensem, almost mechanical, as she turned to stare into Firestar's features again. She listened to her mother's speech in silence, though her tail twisted irritably at her side, writhing like an agonized snake. Spectreflame pressed her teeth together, feeling the sharp points skimming each other. There as no doubt in the situation now. Firestar was going to let mercy win her over, as she had done in so many instances. Spectreflame's look swayed from anger to defeat in a matter of seconds. Though she stayed silent, jaw clamped shut, her raised shoulders and straight back revealed her agitation to all who looked closely.
clutch a dead rose . my song is of venom; not of grace.&&

Grieverstone burst in to camp, "Firestar! Firestar!" she cried. She ran over to the Firestar's den, where Firestar was haveinga small meeting. "Firestar! StarClan... they... I need to talk..." she panted.

Crestedfire jumped three feet into the air and crouched behind Spectreflame, mewing. He blinked over the she-cat's shoulder and sighed heavily, feeling immensely mouse-brained that he had been startled by Grieverstone. The massive, meek tom slunk out sheepishly and curled up behind Spectreflame.
Highfrost's wide amber eyes turned to Grieverstone, hoping that she had some good news for the Clan. "What is going on?" he demanded.[/sub]

"I know. But-" Firestar stopped when she saw a black cat emerge from the Medicine cat den. "Sorrowfrost!" She called, "Come over here!" Firestar dipped her head to her deputy, grateful to Starclan that they allowed her to live.

Sorrowfrost allowed her gaze to stay on Saintcalling for a few moments before relenting and moving off to join Firestar. She dipped her head gracefully to her leader. Icy blue gaze turned to Grieverstone as the medicine cat burst back into the camp. What is it Grieverstone? she asked curiously. Maybe StarClan had finally sent a sign to the MoonClan medicine cat. If anything Sorrowfrost was just elated to be out of Grieverstone's den, she detested being ill and the den reminded her of death and disease. She felt like a bad deputy as she hadn't been able to keep up her deputy duties or train Shardpaw whom she had to admit was probably her favourite apprentice. His differences made him special and only made her admire him more for his perseverance.

Black ears tipped forwards as Grievertsone burst into camp. Darkmagic gave a small hiss of surprise and then stood up, listening to what the medicine cat had to say. "What in the name of StarClan is it now?" she muttered quietly but remained standing so she could hear what all the fuss was about.

Shardpaw shifted his weight side to side. He was becoming antsy. Suddenly he realized something he'd not noticed before. "Sorrowfrost!" He belted over to her, making a quick stop in front the deputy. "I was so worried..." he purred. He had been longing to see her for so long.
"Sorrowfrost...." Frozenstar sat patiently until he heard a high-pitched yowl. Suddenly, Shardpaw was flying across the clearing, skidding to a stop in front a she-cat. It obvously was not his foster mother-Pearlblade was that. But Shardpaw felt some affection for this cat. Perhaps a mentor?

"StarClan came to me. There was a cat whose fur and eyes glowed. It told me that Selenekit was safe and with four others. They went to save us, but then the cat disappeared. And I came back here," Grieverstone huffed out, explaining everything. She collapsed, "I need some water," the she-cat mewed. The scene played over and over again in her mind. She over at Pearlblade and smiled, "Selenekit's safe," she repeated, "Selenekit's safe."
A lithe, sleek pelt slipped it's way to the field. Twilight shone upon the grass and it's belongings. Grieverstone sat down, a tear falling from her cheek, " Why StarClan! Why has the Tribe of Nightmares come to haunt us so? Taking our cats and turning them evil!" she called. A mist appeared in front of the medicine cat, shrouding her. "Grieverstone... Grieverstone..." a soft voice called her name. " Huh? Who's there?" the she-cat meowed, " Who are you?" A white cat had appeared in front of her. It had no pupils and it's fur was glowing. "I am what I am," it had answered, it's voice echoing through Grieverstone's ears.
" I don't understand," the leopard pelted she-cat whispered. "I am the cat of your ancestors," the holy cat answered. " What do you want with me?" she asked "I have seen the cat's of your time. They are suffering," it said. " And?" "And so, I have come to give you message. Selenekit is safe. She is with four others. They have went to save you..." the cat was disappearing, and then it vanished. The mist lifted as Grieverstone was calling, " Wait! Don't go, why have they left? Wait!" The medicine cat lingered there for a moment, then turned and sprinted back to camp. She had to tell them this.

Firestar nodded. She smiled at Shardpaw's run to Sorrowfrost. Then, she turned to Grieverstone. "Selenekit's safe?" She sighed in relief. "Thank Starclan." She smiled a toothy smile. "What else did they say?"

Grieverstone staggered to her paws and walked over to Firestar, "They said that she is with four others, and they went to save us, I'm guessing they must've went to save us from," she shuddered before she said the name, "the Tribe of Nightmares." She looked up at the sky and sat down, then looked at Pearlblade, "You don't have to worry anymore, Pearlblade, your kit is safe."
