pandakit -- ! "Dragonrush, why is it that you fight?" Pandakit asked softly, sitting down behind the she-cat.
Hazel eyes flashed over to the one speaking, a scowl twisting under her expression when she saw who it was. She blinked, opticals softening. Dragonrush sighed and turned around, eyes widening when she saw the gaggle of kittens around her foster nephew. They clamored for attention and answers until the cat stared them all down. Her slits turned to the Maine Coon.
"Why do I fight?" she repeated, her voice as husky as old parchment. Clearing her throat took some time, as she had to concoct an answer for the boy.
"Yeah! None of the other cats have scars like you do but aren't your scars from fighting foxes and badgers and rogues and Clanners?" Pandakit said brightly.
Dragonrush looked thoughtful, her severe expression not fading away. "I'm not like most cats, as you can see, dear." The white and black she-cat touched her fluffy tail to that of the Maine Coon's. Spiritchaser had taught her to fight. Dragonrush couldn't help but clash claws with an enemy. It wasn't like she was out fighting Clans. When a Clan war broke out, she would not stand aside. But...that was not going on right now so she could focus on dealing with these kits.
The femme looked up, raising her brows at the kittens until they got the hint to scurry out. Most of them didn't, eager for stories. She sighed softly. "What would you like me to tell you...?" dragonrush.

rainpaw Rain was coming - which meant the end of the snow that had claimed so many lives. Rainpaw could tell by the scent in the air. The little she-cat padded from the apprentices' den, her sapphire eyes on the sky overhead. It was as grey as ever. Oh well. That was probably a good sign. The charcoal tabby trotted to the fresh kill pile, only to see the patriotic queen Dragonrush talking to a gaggle of kits. She spotted Pandakit, the little tom she had spoken to before her ceremony. She had meant to visit her mother, but it could wait. She'd go and sit in on the story, of Dragonrush did not think her too old, before entering the zone of things way above her expected maturity level. Rainpaw picked out a robin from the pile, carrying it across. She set it in front of the queen. "Here you are, Dragonrush," she mewed in her soft, polite voice. She blinked a few times. "Do you mind if I listen?"

pandakit -- !The Maine Coon grinned when he turned around and saw Rainpaw. "HI!" Pandakit said enthusiastically, happy to see a friend. He crawled into Dragonrush's bed and laid down on her paws, a big boy but nothing compared to the massive sphinx over him. Dragonrush watched Rainpaw with a glare, eying the robin suspiciously before snapping it up. She should probably go hunting for herself later on but the rain was making her arthritis ache and her scars tighten. "Thanks," she grunted. "You may stay." The white and black she-cat stretched, wincing slightly. She would prefer if the group went outside but it was too cold and wet out there. So...they were stuck here.
Her eyes washed over the kits, watching their eyes gleam with anticipation. With a sigh, the warrior began her tale. "Long ago, way before you were born, and perhaps even when your parents were born..." She eyed Rainpaw, knowing that Silverleaf and Freefang were young parents. The story continued. "I was captured by rogues, such cruel fiends. They'd make short work of you." She held up Pandakit, looking into his eyes until he cowered and mewed in fright. Sitting him down, Dragonrush turned to the others, eyes alight. "But no, I stayed loyal to EclipseClan. I would not give my Clan away." She faced Rainpaw. "You! You are in training to be an apprentice. That is one of the most trying times for a Clanmate...but you must be strong." Rare words of optimistic hope came from the rugged old girl as sunshine spread over the malignant scars that branched across her left side.dragonrush.

She still couldn't believe that her parents were dead. Gone, just like that. She'd never even gotten to say goodbye. Her heart felt particularly heavy about it today, but the tears were gone. The wet stains had left her furry cheeks, but her eyes still betrayed the sorrow. She wasn't even happy enough to hover over Ospreykit like she always did, like some sort of guardian. Aurorakit noticed the group of kits (plus Rainpaw) gathered around the elderly queen known as Dragonrush. A storytelling, she figured. Perhaps a story would perk her up a little. The white-and-ginger kitten silently joined the crowd, now indifferent rather than dejected.

rainpaw Rainpaw waited as Dragonrush scrutinized her, trying not to flinch from her stare. She tried to hide her relief as the hardy queen accepted her into the little group. The black tabby smiled at Pandakit's enthusiatic greeting, remembering him - he had spoken to her just before her apprentice ceremony. "Hello," she mewed in her soft, quiet voice. Rainpaw sat down solemnly with the kits, her blue eyes sparkling with interest. Her expression turned more grave at Dragonrush's story. The dark-coated apprentice blinked in surprise as Dragonrush turned to her. She tried not to flinch from the harsh tones. "I'll try my best," she mewed steadily. She smiled her small, sincere smile at Dragonrush, before a new arrival caused her to look away. Just looking at Aurorakit made her heart thud louder. The poor thing. She and her littermates had lost their parents in a tragic accident. "Hi Aurorakit," she mewed to the kit.

ooc;// Dragonrush isn't a queen. She just took care of Pandakit and her sister's kits after her sister was killed ^^ Draggers hasn't had kits or a mate yet.bic;// pandakit -- !&& contraria contrariis curantur He beamed at Rainpaw, resting his head against his Dragonrush's fluffy chest. His bright eyes gazed over when he noticed she was distracted. Though he was almost apprentice-age, he could sympathize with the young she-kit. He didn't have parents either. Pandakit crawled over Dragonrush's massive front paws, toppling over and landing on his chin. He grunted as he picked himself up and padded toward her. "Hi, Aurorakit. Welcome to the warriors' den. I'm Pandakit and that's my mommy Dragonrush." He gestured to the stoic senior warrior, who stared at the ginger and white she-kit with a deep frown. He sat down, smiling at Aurorakit with a contagious smile. "Um..." He looked over at Rainpaw. "Should we play outside...? Or do you want to listen to the story?" Dragonrush had finally taken her eyes off of Aurorakit and was now continuing the story to the others. && the opposite is cured with the opposite

She looked tentatively up to Rainpaw and Pandakit, both of which were a few moons older than her. She felt like shrinking back, her downcast mood tossing her usual strength aside. "Hi Rainpaw, hi Pandakit." She nodded to each of them in turn. With the tomkit's sweet smile and gentle personality, Aurorakit couldn't help but return the same happy expression, though in a very soft way. "Whatever you wanna do..." the she-cat mewed quietly, unsure if he was speaking to her or the apprentice.[/blockquote]

rainpaw The dark tabby she-cat smiled as Pandakit spoke. It was sweet that he referred to Dragonrush as his mother. Rainpaw's sapphire eyes darkened as she thought of her own mother, Silverleaf, sick and stuck in the medicine den. The young she-cat swallowed uncomfortably. She blinked as Pandakit spoke to Aurorakit, only realising from his glance that he was probably speaking to her, too. Rainpaw shook away her distracting thoughts and rearranged her face into a smile. "Well, it's pretty slushy outside," she told the kits. "But if you don't mind that..." The black tabby she-cat waited for Pandakit's call on the situation. Most likely she would just watch the two of them play anyway. She was bigger than them and she would never forgive herself if she hurt one of them.

pandakit -- !&& contraria contrariis curantur He mumbled to himself, feeling a bit uncomfortable with being in the spotlight. He definitely wasn't used to being the center of attention. The large Maine Coon kitten paused for a moment and wagged his tail, wanting to shrink away from the eyes. Thankfully, he was saved by Fernstar, who had just came in with most of the Clan. The tomkit peeked over Rainpaw's shoulder, staring in awe at the pretty tortoiseshell as she ran gracefully toward Shade Rock. "Um..." Dragonrush suddenly surged to her feet and walked by, picking him up by the scruff. The lioness gestured to the two she-cats with a jerk of her head as Fernstar called a Clan Meeting. Pandakit waved at Rainpaw and Aurorakit. "Maybe we can play later. My apprentice ceremony's gonna be now." He smiled broadly as Dragonrush carried him away with ease despite his girth. ooc;// Sorry for cutting this thread off so quickly; I didn't want to post Pandakit in two places when he's about to get his name. Pandakit in one thread and Pandapaw in another confuses me. XD && the opposite is cured with the opposite
