Patriotcross is a rather rugged piece of work, inside and out. He’s certainly not the most handsome cat in the world and with a personality like what he has, I doubt anyone would want to get close to him. He’s actually not all the bad. His pelt is rough and curly, and it’s a mottled batch of colors: tawny, brown, and dark sienna. His hair sticks out like a cactus and his jowls make him look like he’s had a forty-year-old beard that has never been trimmed or tamed. He has a huge scar on the left side of his face, just missing going through his bright, war-loving hazel eyes. His eyes are about as mixed-up as his pelt but with some green and gray thrown in there, it’s simply given the name hazel. He is also one of the tallest characters in his Clan, his muscled frame passing everyone else‘s. His paws are large to support his colossal body, and his tail is wispy, like wheat. His spine and shoulders are extremely strong and can hold up to a lot of force and pressure. He’s good for lifting and carrying things. Patriotcross’ face, however, seems a bit small compared to his body and his ears, which are large triangles perched atop his head.

Patriotcross has a wild and aggressive appearance, fitting with his personality. Everything he does is meant to give enemies an advantage so that he can have even fights with weaker opponents. Despite his introductions as a lethal foe, Patriotcross is later voiced to be an unintentional tom that cats like: though still self-centered and violent, his actions tend to be for the best and his relationship with his Clan and others is always portrayed comically. He is depicted as having a very poor sense of direction.
Patriotcross lives for battle and enjoys a good fight more than anything. He even weakens himself in an effort to make any fight last longer. He also claims that injury and death are nothing but the price one pays for a good fight. Despite him being the most bloodthirsty of the Clan, he has a code of ethics, though different from the set rules of the Clan. Though he literally lives for battle, Patriotcross has shown true emotion and caring for two things: his Clan and kittens. Patriotcross also strongly believes that fun comes before working. In every battle, he tries to get as much enjoyment out of it as possible. He also draft-dodges patrolling and hunting, ending up with him having naps.
At times it seems Patriotcross contradicts his own logic, as he on one hand wishes for ever increasing personal power, yet on the other restricts his might. Irrational to a certain extent, Patriotcross is one of the most complex characters in the Clan, as he exhibits a wide range of traits; lackadaisical abandon, reckless blood lust, peculiar sentiments of affection toward his subordinates, and even indications of wisdom in the form of terse pep-talks usually given to opponents just before or even during battles.

Patriotcross was actually born Patriot who Fights Forever to a dying mother and a fighting father. He had the luck of being born during a war between a loner group and a band of rogues who wanted their food and shelter. His mother, Bear who Watches the Moon, bid him farewell as Patriot sightlessly watched his father, Dragonfly who Seeks Water, fight off rogues from all sides. Patriot was abandoned in the bloody nursery until a rogue found him. After being kept there for sometime, the rogue leader decided that he didn’t want prisoners and told his followers to drown the kit. Luckily for him, Patriot struggled to the other side thanks to an outreaching arm of riverbank. He was found by a BrightClan apprentice and her mentor, who alerted the medicine cat and the queens. Patriot was given the name Patriotkit, for the first word out of his mouth was Patriot. There, he was nursed and sheltered there, but he was a rambunctious and martial child. He was the one the kits always ran screaming and crying from him because he was too rough. Patriotkit broke one kit’s paw when he was five moons and this left him estranged from the other kits and queens. Even his mother couldn’t protect him when the queens passed him, occasionally biting and swatting him. He learned to protect himself, eventually giving one queen a hefty scar on her ear.
He was deemed Patriotpaw in his sixth moon and given a mentor named Whisperingnight. Whisperingnight absolutely despised his apprentice and made sure Patriotpaw was put through a living hell. Patriotpaw retaliated in his own little ways. He sometimes snuck prey in and hid it under Whisperingnight’s bed. However, he couldn’t take the abuse from his mentor anymore. Emotional and verbal he could take, but physical? No more! Whisperingnight dragged Patriotpaw out and began clawing at the tom, not realizing that his mentor’s abuse had seriously taught Patriotpaw how to fight and defend himself. Patriotpaw defended himself from his mentor. However, when they returned to camp, Whisperingnight tattled on Patriotpaw, saying that his apprentice had attacked him. Luckily for Patriotpaw, Sorrowstar believed Patriotpaw and punished Whisperingnight for abusing his power as mentor. Patriotpaw was later made into Patriotcross.
As a warrior, he quickly gained the reputation of the personality he has now. He has had neither mate or kits, allegedly claiming that he is the bridesgroom of War and that his kits are Insanity, Battle, Surrender, and Victory. He is a fierce fighter of his Clan and will do anything to protect it.
Bear - mother
Dragonfly - father
Whisperingnight - former mentor
