Barracudapaw Don't waste your time on me You're already the voice inside my head His dreams were light and a bit joyous. In his sleep, Barracudapaw pawed at the air, a quirky smile on his face. He dreamt of butterflies and squirrels, and birds twittering their happy morning song, the sweet tune drifting through a lush, grassy field, dotted here and there with patches of daylilies and blueberry bushes. He swatted playfully at a bluebird, which chirped before perching upon his tan head. He chuckled happily and danced about, the avian remained there. Suddenly, a crackled of thunder in his dream sent the bird flying off. Stormclouds moved in on him quickly, and the beautiful field began to disappear. It transformed into a plain of mud and a few twisted, stunted, dead trees. He heard a wail, quickly recognizing it to be Eternalpaw's. Barracudapaw quickly raced towards his best friend. But when he was only a few fox-lengths away, he was stopped by an invisible wall. He could see her, but there was no apparent source of what was troubling her so. The storm couldn't hurt her that much. What was wrong. Just as he was about to call back to her, he heard a strange crack before looking up to see a large tree descending upon him. The moment he felt it touch his fur, he woke up. Barracudapaw shivered before getting to his paws. He looked over to Eternalpaw's bed, but she wasn't there. His heart lurched and his was quick to panic. Anxiety drove him into a cold sweat. Where is she?" The memory of the dream, of course, didn't do his mind any good either. He frantically dashed out of the den, bumping into her as he did so. "Where is-" he mewed, breaking off as he noticed that it was her. "Eternalpaw!" to deformed apprentice exclaimed, his ragged tail waving back and forth with relief. "I had this dream, and you were in pain or something, and I couldn't tell what was wrong, and I woke up and I didn't see you, and, well, yeah." He grinned toothily, unsure if she had totally understood his fast talking.[/blockquote]

nightmare again, Barracudapaw" She mewed, her voice just a whisper. She shuddered once, glancing up at the ragged face of her friend, wincing slightly before giving an apologetic lick to his face. The black apprentice was shaking slightly as she looked away. "The nightmare where I see my mother and brother dieing, where I see you getting attacked. And then it all comes onto me, chasing me through the territory so I can't escape. It keeps haunting me, Barracudapaw! And Prophecyteller isn't around anymore to help figure it out" She mewed, her voice getting the smallest bit louder, and receiving a look from Glacierfrost as he passed the two apprentices. Barracudapaw Don't waste your time on me You're already the voice inside my head Barracudapaw was still as she told her tale. He welcomed her nuzzle, resting his tail-tip on her shoulder comfortingly. It fell off lightly as she pulled away, drifting to the ground, then thumping silently every now and then. That must be what was torturing her in his dream. He couldn't see it, but he knew she was in distress. He felt bad for his friend. It must be horrible to have to go through every night with a haunting nightmare clinging to your mind. "It'll be okay," he mewed sympathetically, not minding her wince. Such a thing usually upset him a little, but he didn't mind it too much from his friend. "I know that Prophecyteller is gone," he mewed, his dark blue eye clouding with sorrow as he remembered the loss of his other friend, "but maybe you can talk to Littlefox."[/blockquote]

She mewed, giving a lick to her friend's ragged face, smiling the smallest bit. That was always a good sign. Eternalpaw smiling. Barracudapaw had been her best friend for a long time, ever since they were young kits. He would help her, she had would help him, especially after his attack and loosing his eye and leg. She, along with Prophecyteller had helped him to his recovery, hoping to return him to his happy self. The she-cay smiled up at her friend, then stood and stretched. "Hungry?" She asked. Barracudapaw Don't waste your time on me You're already the voice inside my head Barracudapaw smiled, understanding how she felt. He knew how close she was to Prophecyteller, as was he, and it was predictable for her to trust the medicine cat apprentice a bit more than Littlefox. Truly, the ragged-pelted apprentice felt the same way. The younger of the Clan's healing cats had stuck with him through thick and thin, earning himself the rightful place as his best friend, next to Eternalpaw of course. Nonetheless, he was still worried about her nightmares. "Okay," he mewed, trying to calm down inside. He hadn't really realized his hunger until she mentioned it, and he jumped to his feet. "Hungry? I'm starved!" Barracudapaw bounced a bit before bounding over to the fresh-kill pile and retrieving a plump rabbit. It would be a good idea to indulge while they could, for leaf-bare wasn't too far off.[/blockquote]

Eternalpaw asked, hopeful. Spicetalon had told her she could do what she liked today, as long as she didn't go out alone. She wouldn't want to, anyways. It frightened her, to think that someone out there was taking cats. Prophecyteller was a victim of this. It hurt her to think about that sometimes. She shook her head again, turning her attention to Barracudapaw again. [/ul] eternalpawHell can take me, i don't care i'm already eternally damned
