The sun was high, but dark grey clouds had obscured the bright hot orb, do the day was gloomy. Anger was thick in the air, cloying the usually calm air of the camp. A young tom was stalking back and forth inside the apprentice's den, pale grey eyes flickering like silver flames of rage. The smoky apprentice's long fur was bristling and his teeth were pressed together, his sharp white teeth visible. Corbynpaw's claws were unsheathed, and with each heavy step ruts were cut into the snow-ridden grass. His rage had driven away the other apprentices, who knew only too well the dangers of Corbynpaw's anger.
It's not fair! Corbynpaw stamped one small coal-grey paw heavily into the frosty ground, leaving a furious print. The young tom whirled around, snatching at the ferms with his teeth, tearing them out of the ground. He was just as good as the other apprentice, but no, Amethyststar wouldn't take him to the Moonshard! What was so good about Rosemarypaw, Troutpaw and Brokenpaw anyway? Rosemarypaw was a stupid mousebrain, Troutpaw was a show-off and Brokenpaw a complete depressed lunatic! Corbynpaw gave a short, tearing yowl of frustration, his eyes slots, taking out his anger on the den around him.
And the funny thing was, no one dared to stop him.

// He was, but in the end he didn't. I thought it'd make his plot better if he was completely ignored by Amethyststar. xD

Maplepaw's tabby forme stirred and rolled over in her sleep as a yowl rang about the apprentice's den. Hissing gently, she looked up to see an angry Corbynpaw, angry as a badger. "Go outside if you're going to stomp around like that!" she spat. As soon as those words left her mouth, she was reminded that Troutpaw was gone to the Moonshard. She could have gotten Amethyststar to take her to the Moonshard, too. She could have! She was just too busy... training herself. Yes. It wasn't her fault that she had to teach herself everything she was supposed to learn from a mentor, was it? Maplepaw thought not. Although satisfied with her excuse, Maplepaw needed more. She didn't know why Corbynpaw was angry, but he could still help her. An idea, small and fragile, formed in her mind. Nurturing it slowly, Maplepaw formed a plan.
"Want to help me out?" She asked Corbynpaw in her most innocent, flattering voice. "Listen, we can go to the Moonshard, too. We don't need a warrior - we'll just sneak out. No one will notice, will they?" She stared at him through slitted green eyes.
[ooc] I just thought that was the kind of plan Maplepaw would think up. -shrug- I can change it if you don't want her to sneak out, though.

Corbynpaw turned his head to face Maplepaw, his silvery eyes slits. The smoky black tom looked as if he was verging on ripping off her fur. The young tom took a step towards her, as if considering it. In the end, he stopped a pace away from her. "If it's bothering you, you go outside!" he yowled, letting out some of his fiery rage in the sound. It was as though a demon had been let loose, in cat-form. Corbynpaw swung around and continued his furious pacing, ears flat, tail high, smoky fur bristling. The tom turned again, muzzle wrinkled with disbelief. "Help you? You think I'd want to help you?" he spat spitefully, teeth showing. "I don't need to go to the Moonshard. Who needs it? Who needs Amethyststar? Who needs StarClan?"

"Fine, I just thought that maybe you'd like to go, If being left behind bothers you so much," she shrugged, knowing that it added effect. If she could help it, this grumpy tomcat would come with her. Who else was supposed to come? "Besides, I was only planning on this for your own good. I'm not the one thrashing aroung in here haveing a fit." She gazed silently at Corbynpaw and drew her tongue over a slight tabby paw.
[ooc] No muuuuse.

Corbynpaw gave an irate spit. "I don't need you," he hissed at her, his long, silver claws sinking into the earth. "I don't need anybody. Especially not my wretched mother." Loathing filled his eyes, and despite their pale colouring, they appeared black. The feathery-coated black tom resumed his stomping, tail thrashing, teeth grinding. He whipped around, fur rising, ears flat, as Maplepaw spoke again. "I can do what I like!" he hissed, voice filled with anger and warning. Corbynpaw suddenly lashed out with his long, unsheathed claws - but not at Maplepaw. He severed a fern into pieces, his claws whipping into a silver blur until the plant was nothing but a heap of torn, sinewy stem on the grass.

"Wow, you really like ferns, don't you?" the tabby asked sarcastically, rolling her eyes before narrowing them. "Come on, let's just go. You're really dumb, you know. This will make you feel better about not getting chosen, and you just rip up some grass? Very mature." Maplepaw let her claws sink into the peaty moss that made up her den. She could be just as stubborn as Corbynpaw, and she was determined to prove it. Slowly, she stretched her long bark-colored body. Maplepaw knew that her chances of Corbynpaw coming along were slim, but maybe if she played her cards right...
Maplepaw's slight tabby head was now peering out from the apprentice's den. Her olive eyes flickered around before she ducked back into the apprentice's den. "We can sneak around behind the leader's den," she meowed quietly, motioning with her tail for Corbynpaw to follow her. [/color][/blockquote]
