Mavericksky
:: [ I'm going in blind ] :: Straw-colored ginger fur shone in the light of the morning sun. He stretched as he exited the warrior's den, making his way to the main clearing and then over to the fresh-kill pile. Beautiful eyes stared at a chipmunk before the crown lowered and nipped the fur to begin eating the creature. His light-ginger tail swayed as he ate and then did his business in a nearby fern patch, burying the waste under dirt.
He made his way to the entrance before pausing and padding back to the warrior's den. He wondered if she would like to go with him.
"Rosemarypool, are you awake?" Mavericksky's deep voice echoed softly like the heated touches of a lover.

rosemarypool With her nose tucked beneath her silky tail, Rosemarypool was in a state of complete surrender. Sleep was thickly over her like fallen snow in winter. She shifted slightly as other cats left the den, but did not wake. She was having a wonderful dream. Rosemarypool was with Silentsong. She was telling him how she felt about him. The longhaired tabby blinked opened her leaf-green eyes as a voice ripped her from her slumber. The pretty she-cat yawned widely, her sharp white teeth showing. "Wh-what?" she mewed blearily. Rosemarypool blinked a couple more times, then recognized Mavericksky. She blushed furiously and got to her paws, hastily grooming her sleep-ruffled pelt. "Sorry, sorry," she mewed, lapping at a patch of sticking-out fur. She then stood straight, her expression anxious. "Er, y-yes?"

Mavericksky
:: [ I'm going in blind ] :: He smiled faintly and nodded towards the gateway. "Would you like to hunt with me?" he asked softly. The ginger tom was now a little bit bigger than Rosemarypool's size, despite his being younger than she. The tomcat stretched and smiled a smile he saved only for her, mewing quietly. The sunlight streaked in, sprinking the hay-colored tom with light. He looked up at the intrusion, blinking as his jade orbs were shot with sunlight. He winced, pupils automatically slitting as he returned his gaze of green to Rosemarypool.

rosemarypool The longhaired she-cat lifted a snowy paw, hastily using it to flatten the fur between her ears. She hated seeming like a bad warrior in front of Mavericksky. He was friendly enough, but she felt embarrased when she was near him. He was so much more... Warriorlike than her, and he was younger! The green-eyed warrioress blinked at his suggestion. "Um, sure," she mewed, flicking her silky tail in embarrasment. Rosemarypool slipped from the den, her tail slspping across the tom's nose. "Oh, I'm sorry," she mewed, her whole face crumpling. The warrioress took a couple of steps backward, looking downward. After this agonizing moment passed, Rosemarypool looked upwards. "So... So, shall we go?"

Mavericksky
:: [ I'm going in blind ] :: Owlish viridian mirrors blinked twice as Rosemarypool's tail brushed against his nose. Mavericksky lifted his paw, rubbing it before sneezing and shaking his head. "Haha, it's alright," he murmured softly. The light-skinned tomcat turned and headed for the door. "Sure, let's head out."
Sunlight was in full force and there was a cool breeze that made the day perfect for a walk. The tom smiled faintly, inhaling deeply and staring out at the multi-hued treetops surrounding EclipseClan. He'd have to climb a few and get a better look.
Pink pads pawed the ground mutely as Mavericksky led the way out the EclipseClan entrance. He noticed Maplepool's absence while he was in the warrior's den. His eyes narrowed but he didn't comment on that to Rosemarypool. Instead, he simply turned to the she-cat.
"Silverleaf's kits were born last night," the tom said. "Frostkit, Rainkit, and Whitekit. Two she-kits and a tom."

rosemarypool The longhaired warrior still looked embarrased as Mavericksky accepted her apology. She hurried after the ginger tom, her tail and head down. She just wanted to get this patrol over with. She always felt so insecure around Mavericksky. Rosemarypool padded a few paces behind him, not wanting to offend him by taking the lead, even though she was the older cat. "Really?" she mewed, interest sparking in her tone. She loved kits. She hoped that one day she would have her own. Maybe with Silentsong... She shook away the thoughts, thinking Mavericksky might sense her thoughts. She knew that starting a family was unlikely, especially with Silentsong. She was just too shy. She couldn't even tell the tom she loved how she felt...
// Soon, I guess. =/

Mavericksky
:: [ I'm going in blind ] :: Seeing her interest, a small gentle smile cracked in the tom's majestically-stoic expression. "Yes," he said gently. He turned to Rosemarypool, trying to figure the she-cat out. She was always so nervous around him. He wondered why. He figured this would be ever so blunt about the situation but he just had to ask.
"Rosemarypool, what is the matter?" His muscular brow lifted in question, reenforcing his want to know why she was jumpy. "Is it something I did? Does that make you uncomfortable?" Now that he thought about it, he really couldn't think of something he did to make the she-cat uncomfortable but then again he didn't know what was offensive or not with her. Maybe he was too commanding.

rosemarypool The dark brown tabby she-cat shook herself as she padded on after Mavericksky. She noticed the slightly more gentle tone in his voice and relaxed ever so slightly. Rosemarypool blinked in surprise as the ginger tom spoke again. Obviously she had not relaxed enough. He was too sharp. He had sensed her discomfort. She stopped, pawing at the grass. "You haven't done anything," she mewed quietly, green eyes fixed on her silky white paws. "I.. It's me." She blinked self-consciously, then hurried on, her pawsteps hasty. Too hasty. She tripped on a tree root, twisting her paw. She mewed in pain, rolling in the leaf mould. Embarrasment tinged her pain. She tried valiantly to get up, but could not.

Mavericksky
:: [ I'm going in blind ] :: He frowned slightly but accepted her answer, not wanting to push the situation. The tom looked away for a moment to contemplate but when he turned around, it was to see Rosemarypool fall flat on her face and mewling in pain. Mavericksky leapt to attention, jumping to her side.
"Rosemarypool~!" he said gruffly, easily slipping into the 'take charge' mode that came with being a natural leader. The tom growled under his breath and turned. He didn't want to drag her back to camp; that would harm her more than help her. He exhaled heavily and touched his paw to her shoulder.
"Alright, calm down. I know it hurts but I'm here to help. Try your best to extend your paw so it doesn't twist in the wrong direction permanently." He nudged her side. "Now, lean on me if you can. I'll take you back to camp." He was a bit disappointed that they didn't get their hunting done, but oh well.

rosemarypool The she-cat heard Mavericksky's pawsteps thud on the earth as he raced towards her. Her body burnt with shame. The young warrioress obeyed him, lifting her throbbing paw. She tried hard to stretch it out of it's oddly twisted position, her green eyes bright with pain. Her muscles stuck out with the effort. At the ginger warrior's words, she leant against him, feeling hot beneath her fur. She allowed him to take her weight, knowing she would just about die if it was too much for him. She attempted to walk on her paw, but could not. "I'm sorry. I'm useless." The she-cat hung her, utterly ashamed with herself. She had ruined the hunt. All because of her stupid, stupid clumsiness.

Mavericksky
:: [ I'm going in blind ] :: "Alright, alright, none of that now," he said quietly, putting Rosemarypool back on the ground.
The tom looked around and leapt up, clinging to a nearby catalpa tree. He ran up a branch and quickly retrieved the large leaves, carrying them in his mouth while he crawled backwards down the tree. He tumbled to Rosemarypool's side and put the leaves down before going to a wet patch of ground and digging up the mud.
"Give me your paw," he commanded, holding out his pink-padded muddy appendage so he could bind it to stop the swelling.
