Fernpelt opened her eyes to see light streaming through into the warriors den. She sat up and yawned widely, showing pin sharp pearly white teeth. She stretched, then padded out into the clearing. She went over to the fresh kill pile and took a small chaffinch. The pretty tortoiseshell went over to a shady part of camp to eat it and wait for her apprentice to get up- she had decided she would take him for training today.

The bright bars of light that had woken Fernpelt crept craftily into the apprentices' den, tickling at Beacanpaw's skinny flanks before turning to bounce off of his nose, skim is large, bat-like ears, and shade his closed eyelids. Bright spots of shimmering light shone behind his eyes as he slept. Beacanpaw opened his eyes, and yawned. He rolled onto his paws, shaking himself. He stretched each limb carefully, before sitting down abnd giving his short fur a thorough groom. The apprentice padded from the apprentices den, his yellow eyes down as he approached the fresh-kill pile. He selected a vole and sat down to eat it. As he crunched the flesh in his strong fangs, he looked up. Swallowing, he called; "Good morning, Fernpelt." He dipped his head to his mntor and deputy, determined to show her the respect she deserved. He then crunched up the rest of the vole, and begin to lick his paws and muzzle clean.

Fernpelt had just finished her meal and buried the remains of it. 'Good morning Beacanpaw. Do you want to concentrate on your fighting skills today?' she asked her apprentice, coming over and sitting beside him while giving herself a thorough wash.

Beacanpaw looked at the tortoiseshell moment, before nodding. "Yes, if that's what you've planned." The young tom stretched out his forelegs, proud of how long they had grown. He smiled, before pulling his legs back in and standing up, tail erect, ready to move. His yellow eyes gleamed with eagerness to bgin his training. He had been in a big fight before; aginst MoonClan. He had been badly injured, but the thrill if battle had left a positive mark on him as well. The scar on his shoulder, and the warrior blood in his veins, reminded him that he must fight loyally for EclipseClan.

Fernpelt nodded her head at her apprentice's reply. 'Let's go then. Lead the way, Beacanpaw.' the she cat said, gesturing into the forest with her tail.
