Silentsong
I'm falling in love You tempting dove I'm needing your heart I'm falling apart They finally had returned. The moment the rank stench of blood hit his nostrils, he knew they were back. Hazel optics darted about in search of Rosemarypool, until he remembered their conflict earlier that day. The tom's eyes clouded with sorrow, sorry for making her so upset. But what was done was done. Silentsong could only hope and pray to StarClan that they'd remain friends. The tortoiseshell padded absently from the warriors' den at Amethyststar's summon. New warriors. He managed a smile for the recruits, remembering how happy he had been at his ceremony. Nonetheless, his heart was weighed down with grief. His voice was monotone and dull as he chanted the new names. "Mahoganyflight, Mavericksky, Sphinxtale, Toweringheart." Once more, he twisted his head slowly in search of his friend, unsure if she would want to see him or not.[/blockquote]

~[Brackenpaw]~
A larger then normal dark striped, silver apprentice appeared at the camp entrance. She left a few strands of fur in the bracken that cover the entrance as she entered. She looked around the camp and saw it buzzing with activity. The dead were being over looked and mourned over, the injured being patched up, and queens comforting their kits, trying to explain why there father would never return. After she placed her fresh-kill in the fresh-kill pile she quickly started to over look the dead and injured and in horror found Maplekit's mother, Sunheart, laying there, covered in wounds and gashes.
At first she thought Sunheart was dead but quickly realized that she was alive, her sides very faintly moving with ever shallow breath that she took. Brackenpaw started to back up, suddenly feeling like the camp walls were closing in on her. She bumped into a few other warriors and apprentices before bolting once more for the camp entrance. Before she was about to exit she turned and saw Amethyststar sitting on Shaderock looking ready to announce something, so Brackenpaw forced herself to stay, but after her leader spoke, she would disappear.

Cascadekit nodded her head, still smiling at Maplekit. If there was one thing she wanted to do right now, it was lift the mood, and however she would do it was fine by her. But Yewchime's words, however soft and gentle they were, did not seem reassuring. "What? Sunheart is gonna wake up before then, silly! She's sleepin' and she'll wake up t'morrow." Her voice, however high-pitched and kit-like, was firm and sure of itself. But if only little Cascadekit knew the truth: Maplekit's foster mother may never wake up - and when - if - she did, they could be much, much older. [/blockquote]

maplekit The firm, reassuring kit voice of Cascadekit was a new awakening for the quiet young tom compared to Yewchime's voice, how ever much he trusted the she cat, he couldn't help but let his thin silver fur bristle as he wondered silently if this was just to tide him over for the day, to stop his nightmares Queen's suggested kits might have with any information , like the other Queen's had done, or perhaps were doing even right now with their kits, he noticed Kinkajoukit's and Lilakit's dad was located reasonably near Sunheart, and his tail flicked mournfully for his family and Petaldance, his mate.
"Of course!" his voice yearned a little more confidently, though he couldn't help thinking if this was just to convince himself again, just as he was doing earlier because he didn't want to look weak in front of Cascadekit and Yewchime. "We... we all do" he whispered, nodding, dark pools though now seeing Sunheart's nearly lifeless looking body and flinched, his head drooping and ears pressing against his crania in one final movement, looking away from Cascadekit once more.
As Maplekit peered away from the clan, hiding his moist occs, he sought for someone solid in mind as Sunheart had been, another foster figure for him. Deep down though, he knew he'd been alright without it... he was very soon going to be apprenticed, he didn't truly needed a foster figure with undying wisdom to be with him, but he knew he had been lost of a parent for so long it was like he would always be looking for another. The kit sighed, before peering lamely back at Cascadekit, a frail smile gracing his saddened face.

ooc;; Welcome, Shade! :]
bic;; Mahoganyflight went to Maplekit. She knew the connection between the little kit and her mother. 'Mom's gonna be fine, Maplekit. We just gotta pull together for her like a family, ok?' She looked at him, hoping he'd believe the hope she tried to place inside him. She thought of him as a younger brother, for he, too, was nursed by Sunheart. 'Mom would want us too.' She sat beside him, her larger body towering over his smaller one. She thought of something she felt would describe how the cats of Eclipseclan should do. 'We must go on, for we must be strong in the weakness and death of others... Its what they would want from us.' She said this to no one in particular, for it was the way she felt.[/sup]

//I'm just going to have them already here if thats otey with everyone.... except for Glacierstripe......
//A stone grey tom with piercing topaz yellow irises lay just outside of the entrance to the medicine cats den, looking like he wasn't touched in battle besides his shoulders and a slightly twisted stone grey paw. He watched as the apprentice's became warriors, his yellow irises shined brightly when Sphinxpaw was made Sphinxtale. Even though he was ordered not to, Stonesky got to his paws and limped on 3 legs to his former apprentice. "Congragulations Sphinxtale, I was happy to be your mentor" The average sized stone grey tom rested his tail on Sphinxtale's shoulder for a brief moment before limping back to his spot in front of the medicine cats den.
A battle worn amber femme with bright light blue irises sat and listened carefully to Amethyststar as she made the apprentice's warriors, her scared amber tail twitched with happiness when she heard her former apprentice's warrior name. The battle scared femme closed her light blue irises and remembered her first apprentice being named, she remembered the look on Liongaze's face when Amethyststar named him. Rippedear shook her amber head and trotted over to Mahoganyflight on happy white paws. "Congragulations dear one, you deserve the title of a warrior and you have the right to be called Mahoganyflight" Rippedear licked the top of the former apprentice's head with her rough tounge before padding to the warriors den and waiting outside in case Amethyststar wanted to say more.
A beautiful silver femme with grey and black stripes and ice-blue irises padded into the camp, not letting any of her pelt touch the brambles, after a large silver apprentice. The silver tabby's cold irises shone with relief to find Amethyststar and Scrawltale safe, but her beautiful face fell when she couldn't find Scarletpetal. Her maw was filled with fresh-kill so she couldn't look for her sister then, she walked to the fresh-kill pile before turning back to the Shaderock. Glacierstripe padded up to Scrawltale, my news should be better then the battle news "Hello Scrawltale, I'm glad you've returned safe. Just wanted to tell you that I've been working a little with Brackenpaw and she's been doing an amazing job" Glacierstripe smiled a warm smile even though her ice-blue irises where like sheets of ice and her blood felt like it was frozen.

maplekit The thin kit couldn't believe that the brave, loyal Mahoganyflight was once only an hour or so ago the apprentice he had played hide-and-go seek with, and he shivered in the prospect of how it seemed her and her siblings, his foster family, left him in the nursery long ago with Sunheart still staying there just for him. She then left the tom to Petaldance to watch, as she fought like a admirable warrior in the battle and was swept into a coma leaving her little foster son alone in the world... or alone in his world... he hoped he wasn't denying company. He needed to start acting a little softer. "Family?" the kit choked, he couldn't help being surprised, as the only foster sibling he really got to know was Mavericksky, whom he considered had forgotten about him after leaving the nursery.
The silver fur on his body flattened as he listened with only one word in response, otherwise silently, as Mahoganyflight talked to him like a younger brother and called Sunheart mom to him, like she was both their real moms, so easily, though for a moment his wide dark green pools just blinked widely at her in what could be called a dumbfound expression. "Okay", but the kit couldn't even hide the small smile of hope that against his will crept onto his face.

Amethyststar lifted her tail as the noise reached a pitch. It scratched at her ears like the claws that had raked her pelt earlier that day. Shivering, the black she-cat pulled herself together. She could not put this off any longer. Stopping briefly to rasp her tongue over a bleeding wound on one shoulder, she yowled for silence. Once the noise began to die around her, she lifted her head. Amethyststar's amber eyes flicked from cat to cat, taking in their expressions. She knew some of them blamed her for the dead and injured cats lying in the camp. "The battle with the Tribe..." she meowed, her voice faltering slightly. She swallowed and tried again, voice stronger now. "The battle with the Tribe did not go as planned. We found ourselves in an impossible battle... They could strike us, but we could not strike them." Amethyststar blinked, her eyes swimming with emotion. "We now honour the cats that gave up their lives to fight this battle." The black she-cat bowed her head in silence, a tear dripping onto the rock beneath her paws. This is your fault. Your mother would be so disappointed.
The longhaired, silky-furred body of Rosemarypool slunk from the warriors' den. She gave a mew of joy as she spotted her three brothers, back from the battle. The pretty tabby bustled up to them, licking their wounds. After making sure that they truly were going to be alright, Rosemarypool turned, hurrying back to Silentsong. The expression on his face reminded her of their earlier argument. Guilt stabbed at her kindly heart like a blunt claw. "I'm sorry, Silentsong," she burst out, licking his ear. Tears began to spill down the gentle she-cat's face as Amethyststar spoke, and she rested her head on her best friend's shoulder, grief raw in her chest.
Puzzlekit lay solemnly outside the nursery as the silence fell, his flecked head dipped. The kit's mouth was a sombre line. Kinkajoukit had darted across the clearing to press himself into Solsticesong's fur. He was now practically invisible in her thick coat, only his blue eyes visible.

Spicetalon turned to look at Amethystar, and saw the silver droplet fall from her face. He rushed to her side and pressed against her. It's not your fault... None of us could imagine what it would be like, fighting the Tribe. He murmured to her. The tom licked her ears, and looked up to Starclan. Please, defeat the tribe. He murmured in a voice so quiet not even Amethystar could hear him. Then he turned back to his sister. It's all right. He mewed reasurringly.

Rather blankly, Maplepool heard Amethyststar's words and wondered why Crowtalon would ever want her to honor him. What had she ever done to help him? Nothing. He hadn't died to save her. He didn't give two mouse tails about what happened to her. And still, she felt guilty, like she was responsible for her brother's death. Not knowing what to do she padded foreward, up to Troutcatcher. It was only them now, they couldn't keep pretending that nothing had happened. She locked her eyes with her sister's, however hard it was, and then looked down. This was hard, it was. No cat would dare doubt that they had been seperate, even after Sunflowerpaw died. Maplepool needed someone, and she knew no one else to turn to but her sister, her only sister, her only sibling. Now that four had been dwindled down to two, they had to change.
They couldn't keep pretending that they didn't love eachother.

maplekit A rather small, thin silver tabby tom stood near the nursery crouched beside a warrioress, Mahoganyflight, his deep green eyes blinking as he observed every move their leader made, watching the sadness coarse through her face as she admitted that the battle didn't go as planned - they had lost. His frown moved deeper as being a kit, the strongest cat he could ever imagine was Amethyststar, and now she was crying. Maplekit thought the world may as well crash down now.
His large eyes widened as he watched her cry, frightened now, frightened of himself moving to tears. He didn't like crying. And most of all, he didn't like others watching him cry. With all of this emotion his pools moistened, the near apprentice was nearly crying, so he crouched with his head bent over staring at the ground with pupils in slits. His silver fur bristled, he looked up to see Kinkajoukit run to Solsticesong, and solemnly wished there was someone he could run to.
Deep down though, he could think of no one.

Littlefox watched Spicetalon run to Amethystar. It's funny how cats don't seem too connected with their kin, but Spicetalon and Amethystar are so close. She murmured. She turned to Prophecypaw. Are you going to be okay? She asked him.

Glacierfrost took in everyone of Amethyststar's emotions then she saw a glittering drop fall from her aunts maw. If she would have known any better she would have thought it was the first spring rain but she's already seen the look on the black femme's face. Glacierfrost wanted to run up there and comfort her aunt but she let Spicetalon have his moment with Amethyststar. The silver femme weaved her way to the Shaderock but didn't jump up, her ice-blue irises glowed like a blue ice-storm. Glacierfrost was glad to know that it was Spicetalon up there and not anyone else, her blood would of boiled over.

__when all else failsthink about the past__ The apprentice didn't look to his mentor, he didn't look to Amytheststar. His eyes were clouded and far away, thinking back to the battle. It took a few moments for Prophecypaw to answer. "I will be fine. I just....need to be alone for alittle" He mewed before padding towards the medicine cat's den and slipping inside. He couldn't keep things bottled up, but for the time being, he needed to keep a lid on those feelings. maplekit The kit shivered as he watched Mavericksky walk closer to him and Mahoganyflight, closer and closer, almost so close than he had to believe he was coming toward them. Maplekit hadn't even seen his foster brother up close since he left the nursery - which seemed like fifty moons ago. His deep green pools watched as he sat down next to him, almost protectively, like an older brother would, and suddenly his mind frame changed. Maybe Mahoganyflight was right, maybe he actually belonged here. Maybe he did have a family, foster or not. Perhaps Sunheart was watching them all right now... despite her coma. If she was still in the coma, his silver fur bristled at the thought of what else she could be in - other than alive beside them.
"But when? When? I want to defeat them before we're all dead!" he shuddered hard as he imagined all his foster siblings in the same coma Sunheart was in, his whole foster family laying side by side, before his tailtip flicked to rid his mind of the idea. He must stay optimistic, like Cascadekit. Sunheart was going to wake up. Like everyone else. Perhaps tomorrow. Maybe she just wore herself out! His small head tilted toward the majestic-looking Mavericksky for a moment, his mouth opening and closing like a fish as he searched for the right words, then just finally deciding to put it simply "She's... she's going to wake up, right?" he said quickly, afraid to hear the answer.

Amethyststar was grateful for Spicetalon's soft pelt against her own. It helped to ease the wretched feeling inside of her slightly. The small black she-cat touched noses with her brother, amber eyes softening. They were the only one's left. Ravencurse, Ebonysky and Sugarcane were dead. Harmonyheart and Gracestep had disappeared and never been found. She had only Spicetalon. Amethyststar cleared her throat, lifting her head again. She seemed to have regained her composure somewhat, though her ears still twitched with anguish as her eyes scraped the limp bodies of her clanmates. "I have one more duty to perform," she meowed, voice cracking a little. She swallowed to control it, before continuing. "Puzzlekit, Cascadekit, Yarrowkit, Rainbowkit, Firekit and Maplekit, will you come here, please?" The leader waited for the six kits to approach, her sides heaving lightly as she breathed. As they did so, she continued with the ceremony. "Puzzlekit, from this moment onwards you shall be known as Puzzlepaw. Troutcatcher, though you are young, you are able and strong. You shall mentor Puzzlepaw." She turned her gaze to the next kit. "Cascadekit, from this moment onwards you shall be known as Cascadepaw. Silentsong, you too are young, but have proven yourself as a worthy warrior. You shall mentor Cascadepaw." Amethyststar's eyes flicked onto the next young cat. "Yarrowkit, from this moment onwards you shall be known as Yarrowpaw. Glacierstripe, you are ready to mentor any apprentice. You shall train Yarrowpaw." Amethyststar peered at the remaining hree kits, eyes narrowed slightly. "Rainbowkit, from this moment onwards you shall be known as Rainbowpaw. Razortomb, you are an experienced and intelligent warrior. I hope you will pass they qualities on to young Rainbowpaw." Amethyststar's face turned to the last two kittens. "Firekit, from this moment onwards you shall be known as Firepaw. Rosemarypool, you are young but I believe you will train Firepaw with efficiency." Finally she turned her eyes onto Maplekit, the last. "Maplekit, from this moment onwards you shall be known as Maplepaw. Mavericksky, you are a new warrior yourself, but I know that you will train Maplepaw with all the skill you posses." Amethyststar licked each new apprentice between the ears before stepping back, tail twitching.
Puzzlepaw smiled widely as he given his apprentice name. Jumping down from the Shaderock, he ambled towards the mottled grey warrior he recognized as Troutcatcher. The young tabby stopped before her, scanning her with his protruding amber eyes. He then stretched upwards to touch noses with her, ears flicking respectfully. "Greetings," he mewed, his voice unusually deep for one so young. He sounded faintly distracted. He nodded to Maplepool as he she was given his sister to train, before sitting down comfortably, eyes flicking here and there.
Rosemarypool lifted her head in shock as Amethyststar called her name. She looked at the kit she had been entrusted with - Firekit. Well, Firepaw, now. The datk brown tabby shivered with anticipation. An apprentice! Her very own apprentice! Then doubts clouded her brain. Would she be as good a mentor to young Firepaw as Razortomb had been to her? She had got on brilliantly with the tom, and she hoped she could be the same with Firepaw. The she-cat padded forward to the youngster, flashing Silentsong a nervous glance over her shoulder. Leaning down, she lightly touched noses with Firepaw.

maplepaw The kit's thin frame shuddered as he counted off all the other kits names, only hoping that he could really be accepted into the clan by being named an apprentice at his sixth moon, he shuddered as Firekit was listed, and for a deathly moment thought the leader was stopping, before he heard his! It was exciting - really exciting. His complexion showed none of this though, he just nodded seriously as he calmly padded his way toward the Shaderock to meet Amethyststar at the top, his lips just curved proudly as he realized a foreign kit like him was soon, in his future, he'd be a brave EclipseClan warrior.
He just took the time as the leader swiftly licked him between his matching silver ears to realize who his mentor was, his foster brother, Mavericksky! He must be a good apprentice and never let him down, he must never let his older brother down. For Sunheart he must become a strong brave warrior his mind decided, his deep green gaze turning to the medicine cats den at that chosen moment hoping to see the warrioress awaken, before he remembered he must touch noses with his new mentor. "Mavericksky!" he couldn't help his voice rise with excitement though as serious as he tried to look, he bounced down from the Shaderock toward the older tom, reaching up to touch noses.

~[Brackenpaw]~
"Maplepaw!" Brackenpaw shouted out, caught up in the excitement of the newly named apprentices. Mere hours before when she had talked to Maplekit, he didn't sound to excited about becoming an apprentice, yet now she saw the glow in his eyes, the excitement that all kits feel when becoming an apprentice, leaving the nursery and coming into apprentices den. She leaped to her paws wanting to go congratulate him but the rest of the Clan were crowding around them and once again her shyness of others and fear of tight crowds got to her again to where she backed herself into the camp barrier once again this time bolted out of the camp, fleeing the stench of death and once again she left the camp, bound for her place of solstice.
Ooc//: When is Amethyststar leaving the camp?

[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Solsticesong turned her head to Glacierfrost and sighed heavily, running a paw over her ear. "I'm fine. I'm fine," she said, reassuring both herself and her mate that. She turned away as Amethyststar named apprentices and she wondered why the she-cat was naming such young warriors for mentors. Had the Clan really gotten that depleted? The sprig of grass in her mouth twitched in concern. :: [ Time after time ] ::

:: [ I'm going in blind ] :: "She will wake up," the tom said softly, but Mavericksky blinked as he was called upon to be a mentor to his young foster brother. maplepaw In the previous rush of excitement as he was announced an official apprentice to EclipseClan the small, thin darkly colored silver tabby tom never heard what his foster brother, now mentor had said to him. After he touched noses with Mavericksky all the reasons why he previously didn't want to be a warrior apprentice flashed into his head, and he winced somewhat, blinking his deep green pools as he convinced himself not to think about it. He had to be good - he couldn't fail his older brother and look silly about it! He'd feel silly. So he couldn't wimp out... yet all the same he felt a single shiver run down his spine and the familiar spin of his head twisting toward the medicine cats den to check if Sunheart had awoken yet.
He thought his life situation out slowly, yet the constant pounding of a new start in his apprentice career made him want to start now and at the same time to never begin. He knew the latter choice was no good, because he was going to despite whatever he actually wanted to do, and his foster mother would've been so disappointed in him anyways. If she was awake. He must believe to think what she would think of him if she were awake. So he must be a good, fighting, hunting, serious little apprentice. "When are we going to start?" he couldn't help a small rush of excitement coursing through him as he peered up at Mavericksky.

If there was ever a time not to be out hunting in the EclipseClan forests, it was probably now. Cascadepaw's squeal of delight sounded all through the camp as she bounced around in circles, all while looking for her new mentor. Silentsong! The strong, brave tomcat would be the best mentor ever! Cascadepaw ran and ran until she was dizzy, finally spotting the young warrior. She darted over to him, panting and a little tipsy on her paws, and it took her a few heartbeats - extremely fast heartbeats - to settle down. Her words came out quick and excited, her voice high with anticipation. "Hi! Hi! We're gonna be mentor and apprentice, right? And you're going to teach me - ooh! Can we go see all the territory? 'Cause I wanna see everything, even the river and everything! And you'll show me all the stuff that I need to know so that a big scary badger doesn't eat me! That would be scary! Rawr, roar, roar!" Cascadepaw tramped about at her mentor's paws, doing her best badger impression. Losing intrest quickly, she looked up expectantly at Silentsong with her white fur sticking up everywhere and her brilliant blue eyes sparkling.

A patched shape appeared in the trees, slinking towards the centre of camp. Fernpelt padded slowly into the breezy clearing, glancing around and sighting Solsticesong, and changing direction immediately towards her best friend. 'Solsticesong, I'm back.' she said quietly, her paws still shaking after confronting the Tribe.
At the same time that the pretty tortoiseshell deputy entered camp, a flaming feline entered from the other side. Scarletpetal realized she had walked in in the middle of a meeting, and padded quietly over to the group of gathered cats. She gave her dusty pelt a quick lick, and twitched her right ear where a nick had been cut out of it in the battle. She was keeping an eye out for Phantomlight, wanting to thank him for saving her at the battle, but couldn't see him through the mass of cats just yet.
Costanokit, who had been hiding in the nursery, not liking the cats coming back injured and on the way to StarClan, shot out of the nursery when he heard Cascadekit being made an apprentice. He felt strongly for the pretty kit and smiled as he heard her name being called. He chanted the new apprentices names along with the rest of the cats but felt a little sad that he wasn't becoming an apprentice with the older kits.
