[bic;] Amethyststar mounted the Shaderock, her black fur rippling in the slight breeze. The black she-cat sat down, slowly curling her tail over her neat paws. Her mall form seemed oddly tense, yet she still seemed calmer than she had been in a long time. She called for her clan, her voice loud and crystal clear.
The clan emerged like liquid shadows. Scrawltale padded from the nursery, herding her two remaining kits, Beacankit and Sunkit, in front of her. She sat down with her paws curled around them, grooming their soft, short fur with swift licks. It was obvious she knew that her son and daughter were to be apprenticed. Behind the pride in her fierce yellow eyes stung sorrow for her one dead son.
Becankit squirmed in his mother's grasp, eyes shining with triumpth and pride. His lips were curled in a smile and his paws occasionally twitched impatiently. He mewed irrtably to his mother, but she continued to groom him. THe little tomkit was unable to contain his excitement.
"Beacankit, unkit, will you both come here please?" Amethyststar commanded. Scrawltale let her children free and Beacankit bounded up the Shaderock to stand quivering in front of Amethyststar. Fierce joy and love was plastered all over Scrawltale's face as her mother continued: "These two kits have reached their sixth moon. We all greived for their lost brother, Aspenkit, and he too should have stood here today with them. But we must look to the future, not to the past. Sunkit, from this moment on you will be known as Sunpaw. Spicetalon, as my brother and Sunpaw's uncle, I expect you to mentor her wisely. Beacankit, from this moment on you will be known as Beacanpaw. Fernpelt, I know you have yet to be appointed an apprentice, so I expect you to pass on everything you know to young Beacanpaw."
Beacanpaw purred in joy, then touhed noses to the tortoiseshell warrior.

Fernpelt touched noses with the new apprentice, then joined in with the chanting. 'Beacanpaw! Sunpaw!' She felt excited and quite nervous as this was her first apprentice. She was determined to show him the ways of a warrior and to teach him to respect for the warrior code.

^{The newly named Sunpaw's heart twisted around with excitment as she was given her apprentice name. She padded forward to where Spicetalon sat and touched her small pink nose to Spicetalon's before sitting beside him and looked back up at her leader with excitement in her eyes.}

Amethytstar smiled and flicked her tail to show that the ceremony was over, before leaping from the Shaderock and disappearing into her shadowy den.
Beacanpaw purred loudly, rubbing his nose on Fernpelt's cheek. He knew he should have respect for her now, but he was going to be mentored by his best friend. He grinned at his sister, before Scrawltale rushed up to them and covered hem in prpud, affectionate licks.

Ooc: Aww I love Beacanpaw so much!
Bic: Fernpelt stood back as Scrawltale covered the new apprentice in licks. She felt happy that all the tension Beacanpaw had had with her had dissapeared and they were friends again. She vowed that she would take him for his first training session tomorrow.

^{Sunpaw smiled as her mother gave her licks and laughed and looked back at her mother. "I love you ma!"she meowed and licked her mothers nose. She turned to face Spicetalon now. "So when are we going to start training?"she asked in her excited voice.}

bic:// Spicetalon has had one other apprentice. Sunpaw was his second. He touched noses with her and sat down. "Want to go now?" he asked.

Sunpaw's eyes widened with excitement to think that she would go training this very day. "Okay!"she mewed excitedly and stood up. She was a small cat for her age but she didn't care... yet. She dreams that when she gets older there will be a tom out there that will love her like her father loves her mother. But she knows that her parents loved eachother because they both thought they were ugly or something like that. She pushed the thought out of her mind and swished her tail back and forth.</sup>

[FIREH!!]

"Let's walk the perimeter of our territory!" he meowed.

^{Sunpaw smiled and nodded. "Okay!"she meowed excitedly.}

Fernpelt overheard Spicetalon talking to his new apprentice. 'If you're going to walk round the territory, would it be ok if Beacanpaw and I joined you?' she said.

[SHADE. :D]

Beacanpaw looked hopefully at his uncle. "Please?" he asked sweetly, batting his eyelashes.

[brook]

^{Sunpaw looked at her mentor and blinked sweetly. "Pretty please?"she pleaded and smiled.}

Beacanpaw grinned at his sister, which brought back bitter memories of Aspenkit. He hd enjoyed romping with his only brother, even though the bigger kit had always won... This had frustrated him, but he had never bickered with Aspenkit. He sighed heavily, then jumped back into eager, excitable mode and looked up at Spicetalon, big yellow eyes pleading with the blue-grey tabby warrior.

[FIREH!!]

"Of course!" he purred. "Let's go!" Spicetalon bounded off out the camp.

Gillpaw padded over to them. "Wait!" he meowed. "Sunpaw, Beacanpaw! Congratulations!" he purred.

^{Sunpaw had turned to follow Spicetalon but when she heard Gillpaw's voice she turned around to face him. Her eyes were wide with nervousness as she saw him. Yes he was her crush. She had a crush on him when she was five moons old but she had never told anyone. She really didn't have any good friends. She smiled and nodded her head to Gillpaw. "Thank you!"she mewed.}

[fernie. (:]

Fernpelt turned around and saw the nervousness in Sunpaw's eyes when she talked with Gillpaw. She twitched her whiskers in amusement and followed Spicetalon. She beckoned to Beacanpaw to do the same.

_{Out of the corner of her blue eye, she saw her mentor, her brother, and her brothers mentor making their way toward the entrance of the den. She looked back at Gillpaw and smiled. "I need to go but maybe we could eat together tonight?" Her eyes glimmered with excitement but at the same time the nervousness she had before. What if he said he was busy or even no?}

[FIREH!!]

"Okay!" purred Gillpaw, licking her ear.

Sunpaw smiled and sighed quietly. She turned and padded after her mentor with a wide grin on her face as she thought of eating with Gillpaw!</sup>

Beacanpaw eyed his sister with annoyance as she talked with Gillpaw, before rushing out of camp after the tortoiseshell-splattered tail of Fernpelt.

bic:// Spicetalon snorted when he saw the annoyed look cross Beacanpaw's face.

Fernpelt saw the annoyance in Beacanpaw's eyes too. She tapped his shoulder with her tail tip. 'What's bugging you?' she said, with a hint of amusement in her sparkling eyes.

[SHADE. :D]

Beacanpaw mumbled something indistinct and shrugged his syocky shoulders. He licked his near-naked chest to disguise his lie.

[fernie. (:]

'Oh come on! You can tell me, can't you?' Fernpelt twitched her ears at him. 'Isn't it a good thing that Sunpaw and Gillpaw are getting along?'

[SHADE. :D]

Beacanpaw shrugged. He did not want to admit that he was jealous of Sunpaw. It had always been him and Aspenkit, and sometimes him, Aspenkit and Sunpaw. Now Sunpaw had Gillpaw.. The tan apprentice felt dislike for Amethyststar's apprentice welling up inside his small body.

Fernpelt had grown quite good at reading other cats expressions and body movements, telling her how they felt. 'It's okay to feel jealous you know Beacanpaw. Everyone does at some point of their life. But after that, you should feel happy that Sunpaw isn't looking back to the past, she's looking to the future. You should too. Anyway, you'll find some other friends! I bet there'll be new apprentices in no time for you to play with, and even then Sunpaw will still want to hang out with you. You're her brother after all! Cheer up. You're an apprentice now.' She gave him an encouraging look and a small nod.

Gillpaw looked at Fernpelt and Beacanpaw. He padded over and meowed, "Beacanpaw, wanna go hunting later? I can show you the best places! You can come too, Fernpelt!" He turned to her.
