pearlblade She was floating. Floating on a beam of startling light. She exhaled. Peace had come to her at last. Her life had been nothing but a menace the past few moons. She had forgotten her own daughter's death. But now she was dead. She was going to StarClan, and she would be with her mate, and lost kits. And her living kin, Ravenclaw and her kits, Spectreflame's kits, and Frostwing, Streamrunner and Hopeheart, would live on. She knew Shardfeather and Selenespirit, but adoptive children, would miss her too. But both seemed to be finding something in their lives. The old tortoiseshell gave one last sigh, before her paws hit solid ground.
Pearlblade opened her ice blue eyes, which were no longer clouded, but clear and sharp as day. The she-cat looked down at her body. It was no longer scrawny, wizened with age. It was the slender, athletic body of her youth - of the time before her kits. She breathed in and out a few times. Everything seemed so real, but she was dead. She had to be. She had seen Winterfire. Her life was over.

. Soulmistake . . I keep waiting for you but you never come . The silver gray pelt of Soulmistake stood tall in front of her former clan-mate, they were all dying off one by one but there was also new life spreading through their clan. It brought hope to the future. The dark green eyes of the gray tabby were brighter then they had been living after Nightfalling's death and the fear in her eyes before she had been killed in the tribe battle was now vanished. She hadn't chosen to guard anyone but she still chose to visit her clan-mates when they died. 'Greetings, Pearlblade. Welcome to StarClan,' Soulmistake's voice was a melody of things as she spoke. She had no aura and no wings but the spectral lights around her body proved that she was part of StarClan. The gray she-cat smiled lightly at her former clan-mate, it was sad to see the elder dead but it was also very reassuring to her that the once elderly she-cat wouldn't be suffering anymore.

pearlblade The she-cat blinked as another cat appeared. It was a she-cat who she vaguely recognized. The cat was younger than her (though she didn't look too much older, not with her newly restored body) and it took Pearlblade a moment or two to place the face. "Soulmistake!" she exclaimed. Her voice surprised her, too. She had just got used to the rasping splutter of age, but now she had her old fiery, bold tones back. "I... Are you well? Are you at peace?" She remembered seeing the warrioress's body in the carnage of dead warriors after the Tribe battle. She shuddered at the terrible memory. She nodded her thanks as Soulmistake welcomed her. So yes, she was dead. She smirked. It didn't seem so bad, she reflected, looking down at her sleek fur and long, strong limbs. "So, what happens now?" she asked, still getting used to her old voice again. She wondered briefly if she could ask to see Spectreflame and Winterfire and Chaosdance, but held her tongue for now.

. Soulmistake . . I keep waiting for you but you never come . Soulmistake's smile grew a little as the warrioress recognized her, her dark green eyes glowing with friendly warmth as the she-cat spoke again. 'Yes, I'm at peace. Finally,' The fluffy gray tabby got to her large paws and padded silently closer to the former elder. The gray she-cats dark green orbs looked into Pearlblade's ice-blue ones, even with her friendly warmth they were serious. 'On behalf of StarClan, Pearlblade, you have a choice between being a guardian to a cat that you chose in your clan or related to you, or to become a warrior, like me.' Soulmistake's smiled faded a little but it still hung on her lips. She wasn't much of a cat to guard another so she had chosen to stay a warrior, being drawn into StarClan by her former mate. You never really ran into any of the other StarClanners unless you were actually searching, it was a large sky but still there was a lot of dead cats.
