Sablestar strutted into his den, knowing Shadestar and Lonelyheart would be close at his heels. Lonelyheart had taken considerable effort to snatch, somehow, she had had strong ties to StarClan in life. Or maybe not. But for whatever reason, taking her had zapped energy. And in the afterlife, energy lasted much longer than in life. You wouldn't need to sleep for months, or eat for a year. But lately, he'd needed to eat even more. The only prey up this far were birds, but luckily, they weren't hard to come by.

Lonelyheart trotted obediently after Sablestar. When he finally stopped, it was inside a dreary-looking camp. Shadows loomed everywhere, even though there were no trees to provide the shadows. She looked up. The sky was a dark color. There was no sun, it seemed. She made a face at the surroundings. It looked so sad, it almost- You fit in here, A voice in her head interupted. She shook her head. Whenever disobedient thoughts came, they were blotted out. But it wasn't her doing that. It was something or someone else. But whatever it was, it was becoming part of her, part of her soul. The voice interupted again. Here's all you have left. And with a sad thought, she realized that the voice was right. [/sup][/color]

The small, slender shape of Shadestar trotted after Sablestar, her long black tail held erect. She blinked her green eyes slowly, their deep ebony pupils fixed on Lonelyheart. At least she seemed to be forgetting her life. Shadestar certainly had. She did not care at all for her offspring, or her offspring's offspring.

Don'tStartWithMe,ItsEasierNotToThink
Sablestar sensed Lonelyheart thinking again, and reached into her mind. Dreary? Sure. Shadows? Definetly. Death? Of course. Sadness? No way. No feelings allowed unless he said so. He pushed a thought into her mind. "You fit in here." He said in her mind. She was startled. She began to realize she was but a peice in a puzzle, one she could never solve. Sablestar grinned and sent another thought. "This is all you have left." She submitted. He sighed then, and stopped grinning. "Lonelyheart, make yourself at home in the camp. Shadestar, fetch me some food." Normally, in life, they dark she-cat would revolt in anger, being bossed. But now she had no choice.

Lonelyheart snapped out of her reverie at the sound of Sablestar's voice. She looked around. The camp was barren, except for a few clumps of dried grass, and a few dens. She gazed at each one. A few wisps of her old home lingered in her mind.
Where do I sleep? [/sup][/color]

Shadestar looked at Lonelyheart loathingly for a moment, before nodding curtly and padding over to a pile of fresh-kill. Most of it was crowfood, or had rotted into crowfood. She picked up a fat pigeon in her mouth and padded back to Sablestar. She dropped the fresh-kill at the dark tabby cat's paws, before itting down and licking her paw. She began to wash her face, one clover green eye still fixed on the new arrival.

YouDon'tKnowAThingWhatToDoHere
"Thank you, Shadestar. You are dismissed." He meowed, watching her intently for a heartbeat. He turned to Lonelyheart, almost afraid he'd let out a chuckle. "The first den on your right is the den for the warriors." He waited for Lonelyheart to leave. He couldn't wait, so he just dug into the pigeon, tearing it open and ignoring its near-crowfood taste. It was food. He was feeling the strength return to his limbs.

Lonelyheart nodded. She watched Sablestar for a moment before dissapearing inside the unfamiliar den. Raking together a few bits of dry moss, she settled down. She twisted and turned until she settled into sleep. Then she began to dream.
She walked down a small forest path choked with bushes. The forest was like her old home, but it appeared a little different. After walking a ways, she stepped into a small clearing. And waiting for her was Cormorantstar. Something in her yearned to forgive him after what had happened a moon ago. But something else took over. An angry spirit thing. Fury rushed through her, and she sprinted forward, claws outstretched. But when she reached him, he vanished, like a ghost. She lay in a dazed pile until she woke up.
She opened her eyes, breathing hard. The dream had seemed so real; had it been? [/color][/sup]

Shadestar x . evil put life back into me .
Shadestar nodded as Sablestar dismissed her. She paddedout of the tom's den, shaking her head angrily. She watched as Lonelyheart followed her. She smiled wickedly. She knew about Lonelyheart's past. She had looked into her dreams and helped to weaken her for capture. She knew that she had felt betrayed by her mate. Hissing in amusement, Shadestar contemplated telling her that her former mate was dead.

Windstripe padded past Shadestar in total silence when she and Lonelyheart walked by to go further into the warrior's den. He saw Sablestar at the kill pile. The lithe grey tabby tom bowed to his leader, scarred ears bent back in deference. "Sir, I am going on my watch. Should I bring back any kill?" he asked, his voice dark, yet filled with respect. His striped tail was held high when he sat down, his hazel eyes a snare for ally and enemy alike.

Sablestar looked up at Winstripe, pricking his dark-tipped ears. "Yes, and bring some back for the newcomer, Lonelyheart." he meowed, his voice deep. He would go later, after Windstripe returned, to see what was happening in the Clans' forest.

Windstripe saluted sharply. "Yes Sir," he said, sprinting off like his name. The grey tabby bounded off into the forest, pausing occasionally to refresh the scent of the territory on the trees. He soon spotted a rabbit and leapt upon it for a clean kill. He buried it and covered with his scent so no one would claim it. He would bring it back after he made his first rounds. Nothing perked up his suspicions so he dashed back to his kill and dug it up, racing back to the dens. He silently padded to the warrior's den and dropped off the rabbit by Lonelyheart's side. She seemed to have waken up from a nightmare. "Sablestar requested that I bring this for you," he said quietly, pushing it to her. He turned without another word to return to his post.

[Heartlessfrost]
Heartlessfrost padded into Sablestar's den, ever so quietly, like death itself. Smiling wickedly as she sat down, the pretty orange - and - silver she-cat glanced at Lonelyheart. "Another Tribe member." she said simply, narrowing her jade-colored eyes. "Good."

Sablestar glared breifly at her, wanting to sleep, but he nodded blearily. "Yes. She was quite a tough one to bring here, but the more the merrier." He smiled at his cruel humor. Nothing was merry here. He reached carelessly into Heartlessfrost's mind, making it seem like her idea to leave his den. He was utterly exhausted, and since he could say it, no cat should know.

Heartlessfrost had the urge to glare back at her leader. By now, she had figured out how it felt for Sabletstar to reach into her mind, the dark thoughts like fingers gripping your brain. But she dipped her head anyway, leaving the den and sitting down to groom herself.

He had come back with nothing to report.
Windstripe eyed Heartlessfrost coldly for disturbing Sablestar. His rarely-sheathed claws scratched at the ground as he took his place by the leader's den, guarding the entrance to Sablestar as his endless habit would have it. "Nothing suspicious, sir," he said, his voice seemingly like icy wind. "I gave the new she-cat some food, as you ordered, sir." He was probably the only in the tribe that hardly ever called Sablestar by his name. It was always "sir" or a nod/bow of acquiesce.

Sablestar nodded at him with a dismissing tiwtch of his tail, laying his head down and closing his eyes. But then, he felt a fleeting need to leave.. and he did. He bounded out of camp, his tabby legs carrying him effortlessly to Lightning Drop.

Lonelyheart only nodded to the gray she-cat and accepted the food without a question. She bent her head down to bite into the rabbit. She lurched her head back. The rabbit tasted...sour. But she swallowed the mouthful anyway. Getting up, she moved out of the den and sat a few feet awat from the strangely colored cat called Heartlessfrost. Hey.

Heartlessfrost payed little attention to the she-cat. Her glazed eyes were watching Sablestar as he left the camp. Turning her neck to watch Lonelyheart, she found nothing interesting and so went back to washing herself. "Sablestar really is a strange cat," the words came out coldly, almost bitterly. "I've been here longer than anyone but him." Heartlessfrost couldn't let her eyes hide the satisfaction she felt. She had killed in her life, and now she could in death as well. Much better than StarClan, in her opinion.
