Crystalkit crouched in the hollow set, hoping the foxes wouldn't come near. The set still stunk of badger, but not fresh. The kitten hoped, willed, that the scent of badger would mask their scent.
With help from all of them, they had gotten Mottledkit, Pecankit and Moonkit to the set. Now all they needed were cobwebs, but Crystalkit couldn't even bear to look at Mottledkit's leg - let alone Moonkit's lost tail or Pecankit's nasty gash. How could she help them is she became immobile at th sight of blood? This journey was going to be hard, very, very hard.
At this point, Crystalkit missed everything about the CloudClan camp - thewarm, soft nursery, a complete haven compared to this set, the medicine cat who would, undoubtedly, take care of their wounds, and her mother, her kind, sweet mother, whom she just wanted to see again.
What if she never returned home?

Pecankit huddled in a corner of the reeking badger den, her fur on bend. Her shoulder was throbbing with pain, which she determinedly ignored. She could feel the blood dripping down her foreleg. She sat down, lightheadedness making her dizzy. The tabby kitten looked anxiously at Mottledkit's mangled leg and Moonkit's bitten tail, and quivered. This wasn't going to be easy. Any one of them could die. It could be me... Pecankit flinched at the thought, her blue eyes wide.

Moonkit padded into the abandoned badger set. He collasped on the ground. What was left of his tail was becoming limp. He could barely feel it, and still a small trail of blood followed him, ending with a slowly growing small puddle of it beneath him now. Pain still shot through his muscles. The torn ones in his tail were screaming with agony. If he was taking this much pain from simply a lost tail, he couldn't imagine the misery that Mottledkit and Pecankit were going through.

Mottledkit, teeth gritted, hobbled to collapse next to her friends, her useless leg protesting mightily with every move she made. She looked down at her own mangled leg, and realised that it didn't seem part of her anymore. She shuddered inwardly. Seeing that Pecankit was uncomfortable, she grunted and dragged herself a little closer to her. "Just be glad you're not me.." she said hoarsely, forcing a smile.
She glanced at Moonkit's tail. "At least my leg's still attatched to me, though. For now." She said jokingly, glancing at Crystalkit. "What'd Aurora say for us to do, Crystalkit?''

Crystalkit spun around, her eyes wide. She didn't want them to know she was afraid. She wanted to help. But where was Selenekit? "A-aurora said to get c-cobwebs to stop the bleed-ding, and to s-set your leg with m-mud," She said quietly. Would they be mad that she hadn't helped them yet? "I-I'll go find some cobwebs..." she was shaking. She was afraid. She didn't want this to happen. But she left the set hesitantly, breathing a sigh of relief when she found that the stench of fox no longer hung in the air, and returned with a handful of cobwebs.
Then she just stood there, looking from Mottledkit to Moonkit to Pecankit and back again, not sure who to treat first. They could all die, and because she was too afraid.

Moonkit saw the confusion in Crystalkit's eyes. She seemed unsure who to treat first. "Do me last," he mewed. "These two have it way worse off than me." The other two kits were at a bad risk off too much blood loss. Moonkit's tail was barely even bleeding any more. The more time that passed, the slower and slower the puddle of scarlet liquid filled. Pecankit turned her blue eyes onto Crystalkit. "Do Mottledkit," she mewed shortly. Her shoulder was throbbing, but she knew Mottledkit must be in much greater pain than her. Her shoulder was not bleeding quite as much as it had been. Pecankit found her mind drifting towards her family again. She sighed, wishing she could feel her mother's tongue caressing her fur, her father's comforting nuzzle, her sisters' paws on her flanks, her brothers' eyes set on her, burning with dignity... Pecankit wanted to sob like a tiny newborn, though she was, in fact, six moons old now.

Crystalkit nodded, taking a deep, shuddering breath. SHe slowly, as if held back by some invisible force, made her way over to Mottledkit. "Mottledkit?" she mewed softly, afraid that if she spoke any louder her voice would crack. "Which leg is it?" she would stop the bleeding first, then see if she could set the leg. There was a small pool of water collecting in the back of the set, there was sure to be some mud there.

Thunder boomed outside, the mighty yowls of Silverpelt.
Lightning screamed down, the swift sprints of Silverpelt.
Rain came crashing, the solemn tears of Silverpelt.
Aurora stood bleakly at the entrance of the badger's den, staring ahead without sight. Her pelt was a painted flag of crimson, sable, and ivory. The scars over her eyes made her resemble a feline demon from the darkest pits of DeathClan, but...she had survived for her family.
She entered quietly, rain dripping from her fur: a bloody rain. She glanced at the others and dipped her head before sitting by Mottledkit. Her ochre eyes were weary, but the remains of flintiness and bloodthirstiness stayed.
"I killed them..." she finally spoke. Silverpelt punctuated her words with another running yowl.

Moonkit ducked his head and squinted his eyes in surprise of the sudden lightning flash and boom of thunder the erupted from the skies. The shadow of a cat formed at the set's entrance. As the cat trudged further in the set, Moonkit's darkness adjusted eyes made out the blood-glistening figure of Aurora.
Oh no.... If Aurora dies, we all do....
He'd never thoughtof that till now. They utterly depended on Aurora, as if she were their foster mother when they'd wandered away from their Clans. Well, she pretty much was.
"Aurora, are you okay?" Moonkit knew it was pointless to ask this question-it was obvious she was not okay. Her pelt was nearly covered in blood. It was hard to tell how much was the foxes' and how much was her's, but if any of it was her's, she would definitely be in pain.

"I'm fine, Moonkit. Do not worry," she said hoarsely. "How are you and the others? Is your tail okay?" Her voice was concerned even though it was barely there. The black and white she-cat weakly trodded to the tomkit, examining his features.
"Have you all eaten?" she asked the others. Another screech of lightning cut off her sentence.

Crystalkit had just finished stopping Mottledkit's leg from bleeding and was about to set it when the thunder announced Aurora's arrival. She almost fell over when she saw all the blood on her pelt, most fresh, some dry. She knew she couldn't help her even if Aurora was hurt. She'd just pass out.
Turning away from Aurora's bloodstained body and towards the pool of water, she took a pawful of mud back to Mottledkit. "We haven't eaten," she answered Aurora quietly. "We haven't learned how to hunt yet. Not until we're apprentices." She got ready to set Mottledkit's leg - how she would exactly she didn't know, it was twisted out of shape. "Once we set Mottledkit's leg, she should have a drink of water. P-pecankit too." her voice was trembling, just as her body was. She wasn't cut out to be a medicine cat. She would love to become one, to be able to heal the sick - but when she had to heal deep cuts and wounds, she wuld just back down.

Aurora looked down and swallowed. "I'll go back out and get something for you," the black and white she-cat said. She walked stiffly but mostly unhurt. Shaking her body for a moment, she looked out towards the coming storm.
"The noise should rattle some prey out for me. I'll be back. Keep on, Crystalkit," she said gently.
After a half-hour or so, she came back with two rabbits, though both were small. "Here...," she said, her voice almost gone. "We rest here..."

Pecankit had lain slumped beside Mottledkit, her mind swimming. Her shoulder ached with a dull throb, which occasionally increased into a swift bolt of agony. The tabby kitten looked up as voices reached her ears. She had never been so glad to see Aurora in her short life. Stumbling upright, Pecankit limped heavily toward the loner, sparing Mottledkit an anxious glance. "Aurora!" Her voice was hoarse from lack of use. As the loner she-cat left to find prey, Pecankit limped towards Crystalkit. "Don't worry," she mewed, wincing slightly but still managing to smile stubbornly at the other she-cat. "Your doing great. I don't know anything about herbs." Aurora's voice announced her return and, flashing Crystalkit a last look, Pecankit hobbled back towards the black and white she-cat.

Aurora gazed down weakly at Pecankit. "How's my brave little Pecankit?" she asked, her eyes closed in a smile that joined her scars. Her ochre orbs opened again as she flopped to the ground, groaning in exhaustion. Her adrenaline reserves were gone, leaving her body muscles aching as she lay there.
Her voice was hazy as she spoke, "A leader of CloudClan came to me: Cormorantstar. He gave me the strength I needed to keep out. Luckily, a couple loners were nearby to help me finish the fox off. I gave them thanks and then we split paths again as I left to find you..."

Crystalkit forced a weak smile at Pecankit. She really wasn't hungry. "Thanks," she mewed, "I don't know anything either." Crystalkit paused in slapping mud gently on Mottledkit's now set leg, looking up at Aurora. "A... CloudClan leader? Comerantstar?" she looked back at Mottledkit. The mud was quite sloppy and wet, but it would have to do. "My mama says he was a great leader."[/sup]

Pecankit shivered; she suddenly felt cold. Her tabby fur fluffed out, she pricked up her ears. "I think I've heard of him," she contributed, her voice small and quavering due to her coldness. "I think my mother said something about him to my father. Did you hear what happened? Cormorantstar's been found dead..." Pecankit looked up at Aurora. "I don't know anything else about him." If Runespell had been here, she could've asked him... He knew lots about the other four clans. Pecankit stifled another sob and pushed all thoughts of her father from her mind.

Aurora remembered what Cormorantstar had said to her: "There is no time for that. You are needed by StarClan and by the kits you call family. Were you lying to them?" She remembered seeing her beloved Jonathan.
"Are you going to sit there and die, Aurora?" Cormorantstar demanded. "Will you stand and fight? Will you rise?" She turned to the leader, nodding. "I will always fight!" she declared. "Then go!" snapped Cormorantstar. "And may StarClan go with you!"
She gazed down and pulled Pecankit to her side, so the kit could feel her comforting purr. Though it was hoarse, her voice began to quietly sing.
"Don't give up... It's just the weight of the world... When your heart's heavy, I...I will lift it for you...
"Don't give up... Because you want to be heard... If silence keeps you, I...I will break it for you..."
The black and white she-cat looked wearily at them. "We are brought together even more by this. We are not dead, but this proves we are fighters. I will teach you how to fight, so we may never be defeated on this journey. We are warriors...of StarClan," she said, finally saying StarClan instead of my ancestors. She had finally accepted StarClan and the way of the warrior instead of her previous life. "You will teach me as I teach you..."

Crystalkit stopped and looked up at Aurora. Never before had she heard anything ike that... It was sweet, so sweet, and the most beautiful thing she had ever heard. "Aurora..." she whispered, tears filling her eyes. Suddenly, she began sobbing, perhaps because she had just began wondering what would happen to them without the she-cat. But she couldn't stop now, the tears were flowing, and there was nothing she could do. [/sup]

// Where are the others? oo;
Pecankit listened to the verse, the words lulling her into a daydream. Or nightdream, as it were. The tabby kitten leant her head against the loner's warm flank, and heard the familiar thump thump of her heartbeat. She had often down the same to her mother when she felt sad or scared. Crystalkit's single word roused Pecankit, and she blinked. She then padded, step by step, across the set. She then curled up next to Mottledkit, shutting her eyes and waiting for sleep.

((Sorrowfrost constantly has had compy problems and Blackeh's been having schoolwork))
Aurora looked saddened at Pecankit's movement, but did not object. She sighed lightly and glanced towards Crystalkit. "Do not weep, little one. You will get stronger, I promise. I will teach you how to fight and how to care for your companions. Mottledkit will heal soon," she said gently.
((xDDD Can we just have some random StarClan cat come and heal Mottledkit's leg or do you want us to wait a while for that...?))

[ooc]:// OMG. I'm so sorry I haven't posted in forever.
Moonkit nodded in thanks to Aurora and took a nibble from one of the hares. "Comorantstar?" The kit had never heard much about the old CloudClan leader. He rarely even heard about Stormstar. Suddenly Aurora's voice mewed a melody. So beautiful.... He nodded in agreement to Aurora's words. "It's true..." he murmured. [ooc]:// Sorry for the short post. I had to rush.

ooc; Is okay, as long as you posted. I MISSETH BLACKIE AND SORROW!
Crystalkit nodded, looking up at Aurora. She couldn't cry now. She just couldn't. She still had to make sure Pecankit and Moonkit were okay. Aurora was right. They would get stronger. And Crystalkit made a promise - as long as they were on this journey, she wouldn't cry any longer. It was hard, knowing that if they died their whole Clans may be in danger. She picked up the remaining cobwebs and began hopping over to Pecankit."Pecankit..." She whispered. "Should I wake her up?" the little tabby asked Aurora.[/sup]

Aurora switched gazes from Crystalkit to Pecankit and shook her head. "Only if you can't reach her wounds. The sting from the cobwebs might wake her up anyway," she informed the she-kit.
She turned to Selenekit and Crystalkit. "You two must assist the others until the rest of us can heal. Moonkit, you and Crystalkit will go training with me outside this set tomorrow. If Pecankit and Selenekit are up to it, she can do the same."

"Come on Pecankit!" Pecankit opened her eyes. There was Hazelkit! Her sister's dark, glossy brown fur flashed before her eyes, before Hazelkit's pretty little face loomed before her. "C'mon, Pecankit, let's play!" Pecankit got up eagerly, seeing the small brown frame of Mousekit beside Hazelkit. "You don't know how I missed you!" Pecankit exclaimed, eyes shining with joy. Then a black and white cat pushed between them; it was Aurora. "You must follow your destiny, Pecankit," she mewed calmly, before she imploded into a mass of smoke. Spluttering, Pecankit squinted. As the smoke cleared, she spotted Hazelkit and Mousekit, along with Grainkit and Ryekit. "You don't belong!" called Hazelpaw. "They left you out!" jeered Mousepaw. "Your nothing to us!" sneered Ryepaw. "Nobody misses you!" Grainpaw spat, teeth bared. "But... But..." Pecankit stuttered. Her siblings laughed cruelly. Pecankit felt tears prick her eyes, before pain washed away the nightmare...
"Ouch!" Pecankit rolled onto her paws, flinching away from Crystalkit's paws. She became aware of the chilly tears on her cheeks and hastily wiped them away on her chest. Her shoulder stung horribly, but nothing ached quite as badly as her heart. They didn't miss her, nobody even cared... Pecankit screwed up her face in sorrow, hoping that the others would just think that her injury was paining her.

Crystalkit flinched away as Pecankit awoke. "I-I'm so sorry!" she mewed, shaking her head. "W-was I hurting you?" more gently this time, she began to pad the cobwebs onto Pecankit's wound. A part of her wished it could have been her who had been injured, but she knew that was stupid.
Crystalkit finished soaking up the blood from Pecankit's wound - she left the cobwebs on, just in case - and padded over to a corner of the set to curl up her little tabby body and sleep.[/sup]

"N-no," stammered Pecankit, though she was partly lying. Crystalkit had hurt her a little, though unintentionally. The brown tabby kitten blinked her wide eyes, before sitting down. She did not trust herself to sleep, so instead simply sat, staring.
