fadedstar -- !Her paws strode back and forth in front of her den, debating on what she should do. All at once, thoughts seemed to rush into her head, making her dizzy, and slightly off balance as she turned around again, stumbling into the side of her den. A small grunt came from the long-furred she-cat as her body came into contact with the siding. She leaned there for a moment before shaking her head, then bounding upon the Brid's Wing, sitting down, delicate looking paws unsheathing dangerous claws as she dug them into the tree branch, helping to support herself atop the limb.
Fadedstar's baby blue eyes flickered around the den, landing upon first the nursery, then drifting towards the warrior's den. After this meeting, she'd have to see Midnightsky...and tell him how she felt about their relationship. But that was her personal life. Right now, there were other matters to attend to. Her tail flicked behind her, draping off the side of the tree branch, looking much like a string of feathers. Only the tip twitched. Her eyes closed for a moment before she opened them again.
"All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather under Bird's Wing for a Clan meeting!" Her voice rang out, her paws flexing, as she watched for her Clan to emerge.
[ooc] Any ceremonies that need to be done, just post them on here so that I know ^^

tawnysky & mayakit Curled in her nest, Tawnysky's heart felt lighter than it had for moons. She had met with her mate, and he had finally met their kits. The brown and white she-cat burrowed her chin into her paws, purring softly in happiness. Sure, her kits had been a bit confused as to why their father couldn't come back to camp with them, but they'd sorted it. And as far as she knew, they'd kept their mouths shut and not told anybody. The queen turned in her nest to look at her five kits. And that was when it hit her, and the smile slid off her face.
Her kits were six moons old. That meant they were going to become apprentices. She held them closer to her, fear gleaming in her eyes. She had promised... She had said that she would tell her kits the truth when they were apprentices, and give them the choice of leaving CloudClan to be with their father. Tears seeped from beneath her shut lids at the thought of losing any one of her kits, but as Fadedstar's call hit her ears, she hastily swiped them away.
Tawnysky gave each of her kits a little shake. Mayakit stirred, then blinked up at her mother. The pretty chocolate tabby's sapphire eyes were filled with irritation. "Mummy! Why did you do that? I was sleeping!" she wailed petulantly, getting to her paws just so that she could stamp them in anger. Tawnysky nuzzled her daughter. "Sorry, sweetheart, but today..." she choked on the words. "Today you're becoming an apprentice, remember?" Mayakit squealed in excitement at the words. "Oh yeah!" she mewed in a high-pitched voice. She roughly nudged each of her siblings. "Get up! Get up! I'm gonna be an apprentice!" The kit sang these words loudly as she pranced from the nursery, Tawnysky watching her fondly. haloheart & cootkit It was Mayakit's lisped song that woke Haloheart from her dreams. The small ginger and white tabby queen blinked open her sky blue eyes, the depths still clouded with sleep. The she-cat yawned, screwing up her pretty face. Haloheart's eyes fell on her kits as they opened. Her expression softened. Today was their big day, just like Tawnysky's kits. She licked each kit's back. "Wake up, dears," she purred gently.
Cootkit snuffled lightly, then opened his pondweed-green eyes. "What is it, Mama?" he mewed grumpily. Haloheart pulled him to his feet, before doing the same to Tinykit, Myrtlekit, and finally Coconutkit. The ginger tabby she-cat blinked happily at her litter. "You're becoming apprentices today," she reminded them. Excitement flitted across Cootkit's face. Finally, he could get out of his mother's shadow, and prove that he was a warrior! Cootkit padded from paw to paw excitably as his mother got to her paws, and the family left the nursery together.
// Cootkit, Myrtlekit, Tinykit and Coconutkit need to be apprenticed, and so do Mayakit, Periwinklekit, Crisiskit, Bramblekit and Bearkit. :3 Haloheart and Tawnysky can mentor, but not their own kits, because I'm pretty sure that's against the warrior code. xD

ooc: um, Shade, Runespell mentored Grainstar... or is that just for mothers? Anyway, I can't remember if Kitewhistle had an apprentice, but if he doesn't he can mentor. I think that Barrenclaw's kits are old enough to become warriors, too.periwinklekit. "Hunh? Hunh?" Periwinklekit yawned as she tried to figure out what was going on. Her already-jumbled mind was not helped out by the fact that Mayakit had woken her from a perfectly nice dream where she had been talking to an awfully nice ladybug. One-two-three times she had to blink before her mother's image became clear. She smiled, but then frowned. "Hey, mama, Mayakit's saying that she gets to be an apprentice," she mewed. "Whaddabout me? Do I get to become an apprentice, too? Do I, mama?" her eyes shone. What fun it would be, to go exploring in the forest! Maybe she really would meet the ladybug in her dreams.
Periwinklekit was one to follow, but rarely one to lead. Casting a glance to the nursery entrance, she waited for her mother to herd her out of their nests. [/blockquote] spadepaw. It had been a long time since his father's death. He'd distanced himself from most of the Clan - even Septemberpaw hadn't spoken to him in quite a while. He missed the company of his siblings, and his mother... well, she was still shaken from his father's death, so much that he wondered about her mental stability. It was just another day, actually. Another ceremony... another patrol... another night to sleep... Things had lost much of their color. He didn't mind, though. Sometimes living a monotone life let you sit back and wonder what others were thinking.
Spadepaw sat near the Bird's Wing, not expecting it to be anything important. If it was important, he supposed he'd have noticed it. Things like the scrap with BrightClan and loosing the medicine cat, those were important. Those were like momentary spots of red - spots of intrest - in a dull gray life. Little ceremonies... they didn't matter, really.
You could call it depression. He didn't think of it that way, but I could certianly see you seeing it like that. [/blockquote]

tawnysky The patched queen turned her face to look down at her four other kits. Her green gaze fell on Periwinklekit as the little mottled she-cat stirred. Tawnysky smiled down at her daughter, giving her a lick between the ears. She peered into the kit's clear, light blue eyes (so like Eaglecry's) and nodded. "It's not just Mayakit, silly, it's all of you!" she purred. She gave Periwinklekit a nudge towards the nursery entrance. "C'mon, let's go. C'mon, boys, Bramblekit!" Tawnysky led the way out of the nursery, her tail high. Her expression was bright and happy, a look that was unusual to see on the queen's face. She did not look to see if she passed Dewstep, or any of her kits, on the way. Her fued with her sister was the last thing on her mind right now. Tawnysky spotted Mayakit flouncing through the crowds nearby and seized her, pulling her back to sit with her siblings. She then proceded to groom each kit until their coats shone, her eyes shining with deep pride. rhymepaw The grey and white-striped tabby that was Rhymepaw bounced out of the apprentices' den, her jaws stretched wide in a yawn and her face screwed up like a piece of discarded paper. The young she-cat's features smoothened out, and she blinked her kiwi-green eyes blearily in the glaring light. "Maaaan, it's like, so bright!" she complained, yawning again. Rhymepaw shook herself fiercely, seeming to brighten up, and scampered over to her brother, Spadepaw. The hyperactive tabby leant around the tom, so that her wide eyes stared into his. "Hi Spadepaw!" she sang cheerfully. Even at nine moons of age, Rhymepaw's kitlike demanour had not shifted. She plonked herself down beside the other apprentice, noticing his gloomy expression. She nudged closer to him, her cheek pressed to his. "What is it Spadepaw, huh, huh? What's the matter? You can tell me, your sister!" she pronounced the words with pride, as though everybody put their confidence in her on a regular basis.

fadedstar -- !Sitting quietly, her eyes closed, Fadedstar's ears flicked around as she heard cats slipping from their dens, kits rushing out into the clearing with excitement in their voices. She smiled softly at the sound, the opened her eyes to rest upon the two queens who's kits were becoming apprentices. She gave an encouraging smile to the two queens before her eyes rested upon the next cat to come out of the nursery. Ravenkit's black pelt was smoothed down, like usual, as he sat beside the nursery entrance, waiting for any of his siblings to come out, or for his 'father' to arrive. Taking a deep breath, the she-cat took her baby blue eyes off the black cat, turning his attention to the kits.
"Today is a very special day for some of ours kits. Can I have Cootkit, Myrtlekit, Tinykit, Coconutkit, Periwinklekit, Crisiskit, Bramblekit, Bearkit, and Mayakit to step forwards please?"
The ragdoll she-cat waited for a moment before jumping down, watching the kits come to stand in front of her. Her own tail flicking back and forth, a feather-duster on the ground.
"Cootkit, from this day forwards, you will be known as Cootpaw. Cloakedclaw, you are a valuable warrior in our Clan and I trust you to teach Cootpaw all you know.
"Myrtlekit, from this day forwards, you will be known as Myrtlepaw. Barleyfeather will be your mentor, a cunning cat that I'm sure you'll learn alot from.
"Tinykit, from this day forwards, you will be known as Tinypaw. Tawnysky, your own kits are becoming apprentices and I know you are a fierce fighter, you will mentor young Tinypaw.
"Coconutkit, from this day forwards, you will be known as Coconutpaw. Skunstripe, you are a young, but still reliable warrior and I wish you the best training with your apprentice.
"Periwinklekit, from this day forwards, you will be known as Periwinklepaw. Cactustail will be your mentor, a wise warrior who is quick to act.
"Crisiskit, from this day forwards, you will be known as Crisispaw. Haloheart, like Haloheart, your kits are becoming apprentices today and you are returning to be a warrior, teach this young tom all you know.
"Bramblekit, from this day forwards you will be known as Bramblepaw. Harvestbreath is a loyal warrior and a perfect mentor for teach young Bramblepaw.
"Bearkit, from this day forwards you will be known as Bearpaw. Ancientmagic, you are an older warrior, yet still fierce as always. I trust you to train Bearpaw well."
Taking a breath, Fadedstar watched as the apprentices met with their mentors, then turned her attention to the last kit.
"Last but not least, Mayakit, from this moment on you will be known as Mayapaw. I will take her as my apprentice and teach her all I know"
And with that, the she-cat stepped forwards, touching her nose to the other she-cat's.

bearkit Listening to Mayakit brag about how she was being apprenticed, Bearkit rolled his eyes. Sure, she was being apprenticed today, but so were their siblings, as well as he. Standing up, and following after the small group, Bearkit couldn't help but feel overjoyed at finally becoming an apprentice. No more Bearkit. He'd finally be Bearpaw, and he would be able to leave camp. Flicking his tail behind him, the tabby tom sat down in front of his mother, scooting away slightly when Tawnysky attempted to get a lick on his fur to make him look better. "Ugh, Mom. Do you have to?" He shook his head, scooting away from his siblings and mother, his golden eyes looking up at Fadedstar.
As the leader went through who got who as a mentor and apprentice, Bearkit zoned out. Who would he get? Would his father be proud that he was going to be an apprentice now? Where was his father ... and why hadn't he come back to CloudClan with them? When his name came to his ears, he looked back up, his attention on who he'd get as a mentor. Ancientmagic?! Eyes narrowed, and his thin tail slapped the ground slightly. Great. This was going to be just fun. He didn't dare look around for his mentor; he didn't want to catch the eyes of Mayakit, now Mayapaw, and didn't want to hear her gloating that she got Fadedstar as a mentor.
Huffing slightly, he picked himself up, shaking his fur out, and clenched his jaw. This surely wasn't going to be fun. Not one bit.

mayapaw & cootpaw Cootkit padded forward as Fadedstar called out his name, his scrawny chest puffed out with excitement. The tan-coloured tabby tom halted, finding himself first in the line of his siblings, and Tawnysky's litter. The young tom's eyes grew round as Fadedstar began to speak. He turned, his little body quivering slightly, and trotted towards Cloakedclaw, watching his paws so that he didn't trip on his way. He stumbled slightly over a root jutting from the earth, and heard Mayakit snickering cruelly behind him, but with great effort, ignored the obnoxious she-cat. Cootpaw reached Cloakedclaw, and blinked up at the tabby. "You won't go easy on me, will you, Uncle Cloakedclaw?" he asked tentatively, standing on the tips of his paws. He peered around excitedly for Loonpaw. He would be sharing a den with his unlikely best friend again!
Mayakit waited, last in line, her chocolate and white fur shining like diamonds in the sunshine. She watched, eyes narrowed, as each of Haloheart's kits, then each of her siblings, recieved their mentors. Mayakit kneaded the ground impatiently with snowy white paws. When Fadedstar finally reached her, Mayapaw gave a little gasp and tossed her sleek head. The pretty young she-cat marched over to Fadedstar and touched noses with the leader. "You couldn't have chosen a better apprentice!" she told Fadedstar excitedly, before looking over her shoulder, sticking her tongue out at all of her siblings. She had Fadedstar as a mentor! Well, it was hardly surprising really. Haloheart's kits were all mouse-brained idiots, and she was the cleverest of her siblings... These thoughts made Mayapaw's eyes glow with glee and pride, and she twitched her tail smugly. tawnysky & haloheart Tawnysky waited, her olive green eyes bright with pride, as her kits padded forward. She started as Fadedstar called her forward to be a mentor, but quickly regained her composure, and trotted forward to meet the kit that was her's to mentor. She eyed Tinypaw critically - the tom really did live up to his name. She touched noses with him. "You're going to have to work hard, okay?" she mewed, sounding firm but kind. After this, the brown and white she-cat turned and padded back to where she had stood before, her eyes round as she watched her five kits recieving their mentors. They had all recieved good mentors (Haloheart was a bit soft, but she'd do) and Mayapaw was going to be trained by Fadedstar herself! Tawnysky felt her chest swell with pride, but she hung back, allowing her litter to meet their mentors before going to them.
Haloheart's sky blue eyes were filled with joy as they followed Cootkit, Myrtlekit, Tinykit and Coconutkit up to the front of the clearing. She cheered loudly for each one. She knew that Cloakedclaw would take good care of Cootpaw. She hoped that Tawnysky would not be too hard on her smallest kit. The small ginger tabby she-cat looked surprised as Fadedstar called her name, but got to her paws and padded forward to meet her apprentice. She smiled kindly at Crisispaw. "Hello," she mewed, her blue eyes friendly.

fadedstar -- !Fadedstar raised an eyebrow as her newly named apprentice touched her nose, then turned to stick her tongue out at her siblings and the other new apprentices. Her eyes narrowed before she lifted her tail, flicking the she-cat over the head as she looked down. "Mayapaw, that was uncalled for. Don't get cocky just because you are my apprentice. I can take any one of your siblings and give you off to another warrior" The leader threatened, eyes narrowed slightly again, this time a small bit of playfulness was around the edges of her clear blue eyes.
"I'll have to judge that myself." The long-haired she-cat murmured, eyes drifting away from her apprentice before flicking down again. "Just a warning, Mayapaw, I might not be able to train you as much as the other warriors and their apprentices, therefore, Swampfox will most likely take you out with Carnationpaw" She mewed, nodding towards the deputy, then turned her attention away. "Let's get you settled into the apprentice's den. We'll start training at dawn" ancientmagic -- !His eyes opened slowly, sitting outside the warrior's den as he listened to Fadedstar's voice. It was true. Stormstar did make the right choice in choosing this she-cat as his successor. The spotted tom grimaced slightly as he thought of their late leader. It was still clear in his eyes want had happened. The blood had just been washed away from where the grey tom as landed. He winced to himself before glancing up as his name was called. An apprentice?
The tom stood to even paws, his body stretching out as he leaned forwards onto his front toes, yawning and padding forwards. Ancientmagic chuckled lightly as he noticed the expression upon his new apprentice's face. "Cheer up, kid. Your lucky you have an experienced warrior training you" He said, grinning widely, grey eyes sparkly in the dim light. His tail flicked back and forth, ears twitching around. It'd been too long since he was given an apprentice. Much too long, really. He grinned to himself as he thought of all he could teach young Bearpaw.

Midnightsky && Cloakedclaw
Midnightsky's eyes seemed to follow Fadedstar. He watched her jump on the rock and summon the clan. He needn't to be summoned. He was already sitting under the shade of a tree, and he sat there still, watching her. Worry seemed to grip him. What exactly was she playing at? She never seemed to have the time to even say hi to him anymore. He still kept his piercing eyes glued to her, and knew they had to talk.
Cloakedclaw's paws brought him to Cootpaw. "Ha. Me? Go easy? Nice try." He touched noses with his nephew, and grinned. "So, what do you want to do first?" He meowed as he padded over to sit with the other cats, beckoning his apprentice to follow him. He noticed Midnightsky sitting in the shade by himself, and tilte his head to one side. It was suspicious, but what was he to do? Midnightsky seemed to be distancing himself from everyone. He shook his head. There was time to worry later. He had an apprentice now. When he reached the cat he was looking for, Ribbontail, he touched noses with her. "Hey. Meet my apprentice!!" He grinned and flicked his tail to Cootpaw.

mayapaw, cootpaw, ribbontail Mayapaw turned to look at her mentor, her pretty blue eyes slightly narrowed. For a moment, it seemed as though she was going to argue. Then she simply looked sulky. "Sorry, Fadedstar," she muttered, looking mildly humiliated. The chocolate tabby she-cat seemed to perk up as Fadedstar continued. "Don't worry, I understand," she mewed, her smug tone returning. She bounced on her snowy paws as Fadedstar spoke of training at dawn. "Okay! I'll be ready!" Mayapaw flounced away, making sure to walk past Cootpaw and shoot him a mocking look. He was stuck with his uncle. Fadedstar must have known that he was too stupid to be trained by anybody else. Mayapaw slipped into the apprentices' den to find a nest, her face still covered by an obnoxious smile.
Cootpaw smiled at his mentor, and uncle. "I don't know, anything!" he mewed excitedly, shifting from paw to paw. He frowned as Mayapaw sauntered past. Of course, she would have been given to Fadedstar, stupid, perfect Mayapaw... The tan tabby tom shook away his annoyance and trotted after Cloakedclaw to Ribbontail. "Hey, Ribbontail," he mewed, waving his tail at his aunt figure. Cootpaw was suddenly hit by a thought, and grinned. "Hey, can we train together? Then I can train with Loonpaw!"
Ribbontail's pretty face was lit up by a smile as her mate recieved an apprentice. Her thoughts then went back to her own apprentice, and her smile slid off her face. The slender silver bengal gave a short sigh. Loonpaw was fine when she was training her, but whenever Cloakedclaw came up during a conversation, or appeared, the she-cat would become as cold as rock. The silver warrioress forced herself to smile at her mate, and Cootpaw. "Hi, Cootpaw," she mewed. She looked doubtful as the young tom mentioned training with her and Loonpaw. There was no way Loonpaw would want to train with her mate. Ribbontail glanced at her mate, not sure what to say.

[ooc]Aurrie do you still have Loonkit? Has she been apprenticed? Sorry, I've got so behind .
Dewstep The tiny female padded out into the clearing, her petite white paws hardly making any noise on the ground as she walked over to the large group of cats already sat in front of Fadedstar. She noticed her sister with her kits and realised her nieces and nephews were becoming apprentices today. She kneaded her paws anxiously on the ground as she stared at Tawnysky. She should really go and congratulate her sister. But would the other female want to listen to her. Finally, after all the names had been called, she plucked up the courage. Dewstep raised herself again to her paws and padded over to her sister. "Tawnysky........" she began, grey eyes wide and nervous. "I just wanted to say.......congratulations" she said, keepiung eye contact with her sister before suddenly losing her nerve and turning to leave. Carnationpaw The little brown and white she-cat danced out of the apprentices den, her eyes bright as she heeded to Fadedstar's call. She swiftly spotted her mother but decided against going to her as she was Tawnysky and Carnationpaw knew that things were tense between the two. Her gaze caught sight of Rhymepaw and Spadepaw, so decided to go and sit with them. "Hi! How are you both?" she asked chirpily, plonking herself down next to Rhymepaw. Bramblekit The long haired she-cat jerked awake at Mayakit's little whining voice, her eyes rolling almost as soon as they were open. She smiled as she heard Periwinklekit ask her fearful question, pressing her nose gently into her sister's cheek. "You silly billy" she giggled, before turning to Bearkit. "C'mon then" she muttered to her twin brother as they headed outside. She tried not to wriggle as her mother licked her clean, before she sat to attention at Fadedstar's call. She stepped forwards along with her siblings and then glanced around for her mentor. She finally saw Harvestbreath's large form pushing through the crowd towards her and she stepped forwards to touch noses with her new mentor. "Hi" she said, smiling up at him. [/sub]

periwinklekit. "O-oh," Periwinklekit let out a sigh of releif, going without complaint when her mother pushed her and her siblings out of the nursery, only sneezing lightly when Tawnysky began to fuss over her pelt. "Well, that's good," she mewed as she was sitting waiting for the ceremony to begin. "Wudden' want Mayakit to be all alone. Nope, nope..." the dense she-kit's bell-like voice faded out as her eyes focused on something far away. Periwinklekit giggled as Bramblekit nuzzled her nose - sometimes she liked Bramblekit best, a lot more than Bearkit, because she was so nice. "You're super nice, Bramblekit," she mewed with a smile. She didn't mind being called silly. She did mind being called stupid, which Bearkit opted for much more often than his twin. Finally, she heard her name, and blinked.
Cactustail was her mentor. She'd forgotten to step foreward, and now couldn't see in the mess of cats that were swarming around her siblings and the new apprentices. "Dizzy..." she mumbled, looking up to her mother and away from the swirling mass of pelts and patterns. "Who's that?" Periwinklepaw hissed loudly to her mother, hoping she could point her to her new mentor. [/blockquote] spadepaw. He cracked a smile as Rhymepaw appeared. Simple Rhymepaw, who could see through every fake smile and frown. This smile was not fake, though - he was glad to see her. He saw her all the time, actually, but he scarecly remembered the last time they had really talked. Why, it might have been just after their father... well... yeah. He tried not to think about it. His expression changed a bit at her question; but not by much. "Oh, nothing," he murmured, trying to find the answer himself. "I guess I'm just... bored. All the time." He was surprised by the accuracy of his diagnosis. And the fact that it hadn't been long and rambling, and that it didn't betray at all that he himself actually had no idea why he was so gloomy. Bramblepaw Bramblepaw turned as she heard her sister speak, a smile lighting up her pointed face. "Super nice to you Periwinklepaw!" she giggled, glancing around to see if she could see Cactustail, whom her sister was having trouble finding. Being unable to see the warrior, she shrugged at her little sister and then glanced over to her twin brother. She saw his expression and bit her lip nervously, tapping him on the rump with her tail. She said nothing, knowing her expression would ask him what was wrong without words being needed. [/sub]

tawnysky Tawnysky caught sight of Dewstep out of the corner of her eye, but ignored her sister. he didn't want her kits' big day ruined by the dislike between the two she-cats. The brown and white she-cat continued to watch her litter, her eyes soft. She looked down when Periwinklepaw hissed something up at her. Stifling a laugh, the warrioress nudged her daughter, pointing with her tail towards Cactustail. The she-cat then turned away to hide the amused smile which was spreading over her lips, only to see Dewstep stood before. The smile disappeared, and her green eyes clouded over. Tawnysky did not react to her sister's words at her, keeping her eyes low. But as Dewstep turned to leave, a jolt of realization hit her. Her sister was trying to mend the awkwardness between them. "Dewstep, wait!" she mewed. Tawnysky pawed at the ground, awkward. "I... I... I'm sorry." The words were soft, but sincere. She held the smaller she-cat's gaze for a while, then looked down, her face hot beneath her fur. rhymepaw The grey and white striped apprentice was distracted by the appearance of Carnationpaw. The lime-eyed she=cat blinked at the other apprentice. Sometimes she didn't like Carnationpaw, but then most of the time, she did. Dispelling these thoughts, Rhymepaw grinned her slightly dumb but sweet grin at the other she-cat. "Hi! I'm pretty good! How about you?" she asked excitably. The she-cat continued to smile at Carnationpaw, until she heard her brother's voice, and swung around to look at him. Rhymepaw gave the tom a poke with one slim snowy paw. "Well, if you're bored, why don't you ask to play with me! I'm never bored!" The she-cat shifted from paw to paw, her eyes brimming with happiness, as usual. Her words were true. She was never bored, always finding things to interest her - however small or insignificant.

Dewstep The tiny female paused as her sister called her back, turning around, her grey gaze guarded. She held her sister's gaze, not letting her defensive stance drop until her sister spoke again. Her eyes immediately filled with tears and she turned all the way around to face her sister. "I'm sorry too. I never meant all this to happen. I.......I've really missed you" she said, her voice cracking on the last part of her statement. She felt a tear roll down her cheek and wiped it away, embarrassed. "Dammit, I always cry" she murmered, a small, apprehensive smile beginning to form on her face. [/sub]

tawnysky The brown and white she-cat held the other cat's gaze, though discomfort was swelling inside of her. She had known that this moment would have to come eventually. The former queen visibly relaxed as Dewstep spoke. Her shoulders sagged. Tawnysky looked tired, but happy, her green eyes brightening. "Me neither," she mewed. "I'm sorry. Ever since Mother died, I just... Well. I've been a jealous mousebrain. Sorry." Tawnysky scraped at the grass awkwardly. It was not at all like her to admit that she had been wrong, or selfish. It felt odd to be doing so. But the warrioress looked up when she heard tell-tale sniffles. She smiled at Dewstep's words. "You never change, do you?" she mewed, amused. Nor do you... Her face fell slightly as she thought this. It had always been her who had been the difficult one. She'd always made Dewstep's life hard. "Dewstep... I'm a terrible sister," her voice was small. "I really am sorry..."

Dewstep Dewstep shook her head as her sister spoke. "No, it wasn't just you. I should have been more there for you. I guess Oleandergaze really did steal my heart" she murmered, a small smile lighting her face as she thought of her deceased yet still beloved mate, although her eyes were sad. "I guess I was scared of your reaction. Scared, as always" she murmered, before nodding in agreement with Tawnysky's next words. "I know. I'll always be pathetic little Dewstep" she muttered, rolling her eyes as she wiped away another tear. Her face turned full of seriousness at Tawnysky's next words. "Terrible? I don't think so. I idolized you Tawnysky. You had the confidence I didn't, the courage to speak up for what you believed in. I never had that. You were everything, one of the most important cats in my life" she stepped forwards and touched her nose to her sister's cheek. "You still are" she whispered, blinking the tears from her grey orbs yet again. [/sub]

tawnysky & mayapaw Tawnysky looked at her paws. "Yes, but I wouldn't let you be happy," she muttered, shame drenching her voice. "I just couldn't let you be happy, when I wasn't. I so jealous that somebody wanted you, and... And not me. You were always the prettier sister," she laughed the last words, though her eyes were still filled with shame. Tawnysky noticed the sorrow in her sister's eyes as she thought of Oleandergaze. She had no idea how that must feel, losing the cat you loved the most. Losing Eaglecry... It was unthinkable. "I wasn't even there for you when he died..." her voice was bitter and filled with self-hatred. Tawnysky touched her sister's shoulder with her tail tip. "You're not pathetic," she mewed. "You're braver than I am." Tawnysky felt her heart swell in her chest at Dewstep's next words. Even after everything, her sister still cared about her. "Same with you," she whispered. The patched warrioress looked down. When she met Dewstep's eyes again, she was smiling slightly. "You should meet my kits," she mewed. Finally, she had someone she could tell about Eaglecry... She knew she could teust Dewstep. Tawnysky turned, calling each of her kits over to her, her face now bright.
Mayapaw turned on her way to the apprentices' den, her pretty face curious. The chocolate and white tabby blinked at her mother. The cat stood beside her was... Her mother's sister, Dewstep, that was it. She knew that her mother and Dewstep didn't get on, so why were they both smiling? Mayapaw trotted to them, her face unimpressed. "What?" she asked, her tone impatient.

Dewstep && Bramblepaw Dewstep looked sadly at her sister when she spoke next. "It's okay. Losing mother was hard, neither of us were behaving as we usually do" she said, tail flicking. "Don't be ridiculous. You're gorgeous. Oleandergaze was just there when I needed him and we clicked. It didn't mean I was any better than you, me and him just clicked" she smiled. As Tawnysky spoke of Oleandergaze she felt her chest ache with sadness and knew it would show on her face. "I didn't really expect you to be. We weren't exactly on speaking terms. Anyway, I forgive you, because I know you're sorry" she said, trying to block out the dull ache that thinking about her deceased mate always brought to her. She looked up as her sister called on her kits, feeling nerves clench her before she relaxed. She loved kits, and had always regretted not getting to know her nieces and nephews. But maybe they could make up lost time now. "You should meet mine too. They never got to know you" she said, before growing quiet as Mayapaw approached. She knew that the apprentice had all of her mother's spunk so decided that she would let Tawnysky speak first.
The tabby female turned her head at her mother's call, looking around for Bearpaw. She flicked her tail at her twin before padding over to her mother, looking around for her other siblings as well. She rolled her eyes at Mayapaw's sarky tone before looking in confusion at her mother. Tawnysky was stood with her aunt, Dewstep, but the two females had barely spoken before, not that Bramblepaw knew anyway. "What is it Mum?" she asked her mother, her head cocked to one side. [/sub]

tawnysky & mayapaw The brown and white she-cat felt her smile widening at Dewstep's words. She still felt terrible that she had not been there for her sister when she had lost Oleandergaze, but it felt good to be mending things. It felt like it had felt when they were apprentices, before Oleandergaze, before Eaglecry, before their mother had died. The sturdy queen nodded at Dewstep's words about her own kits. She had never wanted to get to know her nieces and nephews, and treated each one with as much contempt as she had treated Dewstep. Guilt weighed in her chest. The she-cat was glad when Mayapaw and Bramblepaw padded towards them, having heard her call. She whipped Mayapaw lightly over the ears with her tail. "Less of that tone, please," she mewed sharply, though amusement gleamed in her green eyes. "I want you all to meet your aunt - properly."
Mayapaw frowned at the look Bramblepaw shot her, tossing her sleek head. The chocolate and white tabby gave a yelp as her mother whipped her ears. She pretty sapphire eyes grew round with indignation. "Mother!" she hissed, her face growing hot beneath her fur. The youngster flicked her tail in irritation, and groomed her shoulders to hide her embarrasment. When she looked up again, her usual haughty, smug expression had taken over her features once more. "I'm Mayapaw," she mewed, flashing a bright smile at her aunt.

Dewstep, Bramblepaw && Carnationpaw
The tiny female smiled as Tawnysky nodded and then turned her attention to Mayapaw. Dewstep tried to hide a smile as Tawnysky caught her daughter over the ears, nodding to Mayapaw as her niece introduced herself. "Nice to meet you Mayapaw. I'm Dewstep" she said with smile, before looking over to Carnationpaw. She caught her daughter's eye and beckoned her over with her tail before calling over the rest of her brood.
Bramblepaw couldn't help but let a giggle escape as her mother reprimanded her sister but she silenced herself quickly, not wanting to upset Mayapaw. She looked in confusion at her mother before turning to the smaller she-cat in front of her. "Hi. I'm Bramblepaw" she said to her aunt, a small smile lighting up her face.
Carnationpaw smiled to Rhymepaw and opened her mouth to speak again when she noticed her mother beckoning her. "Ugh, sorry guys, Mother wants me" she groaned with a quick roll of her eyes before padding over to her mother, whom was stood with her aunt and cousins. The young female looked suspiciously at them all before turning her gaze to Dewstep. "What is it Mum?" she asked the brown and white femme, brown eyes roving over the other cats around her.
