ooc- for hawkeyes and i, closed to all others. sorry but we're good at replying soon and i need to do some IC activity
Miserypaw.
The settings: a moonlit, field in MoonClan territory. A good description for the the place would be, 'Rolling terrain with lush, long green grass creating a large and mysterious place of the night.' Crickets and other night-bugs sounded a call that made the place eary but somehow familiar. It was a dark welcoming sound to Miserypaw. She stalked through the grass with slit's for eyes and rippling muscles beneath her lush black fur.
A sneaky young apprentice, Miserypaw was patrolling the border (is there one?) between CloudClan and moonClan and staring into the fields with a hungry look in her eyes. What did the she-cat hunger for? What could she find among the chirping bugs and nocturnal hunters such as herself. Some might say she was foolish to walk alone at night. After all said, Miserypaw was still only eight moons old and she wasn't the brightest nor strongest cat in the Clan. If somebody watched her with eyes bugged out and a sadistic smile on their lips, waiting for her to relax--they would be able to overcome her easily.
Miserypaw was an attractive youngling but she wasn't as tough as she talked. The girl would cry and beg for her life if any rogue cat or such came to her with death at his heels. She might try to... persuade the cat to let her go in peace but she wouldn't fight too hard. Miserypaw was nothing, nothing special and everything Queens didn't want their kits to become.
Thats why she stalked through the night, if only she could prove her worth to the Clan by slaying a demonic creature of the night, some wild fox, a lone rogue, maybe a badger. That would earn her respect and forever the grassy fields that MoonClan warriors and apprentices hunted in would be hers. Thats right, I was victorious here. I made myself something right here in these fields of rolling grass [/blockquote]

Darkpaw
Live In The Moment Darkpaw got out of his Camp as fast as he could. He couldn’t let Woodbird see him leave, he’d be on his trail in seconds, and find him even faster. Darkpaw just wanted to go out and walk around the territory, with no grandpa watching his every foot-step, although sometimes that was a good thing. But today, Darkpaw just wanted to not be followed.
He looked into the elder’s den quietly to make sure his grandfather wouldn’t see him leave. As far as he could tell, the old cat was fast asleep, and looked like he didn’t want to be disturbed from what appeared to be a good dream. You don’t want to be disturbed, you won’t be disturbed. The apprentice thought to himself. He was good to go. Slowly, Darkpaw neared the Camp entrance and with a last glance over his shoulder, he leaped through and was out of Camp.
He went to no particular place, like always. No plans, no thoughts. Live in the moment he usually says. Don’t think about the past, and don’t think about the future. These were probably the reasons he got into so much trouble, but he didn’t mind, he liked thinking of nothing. As soon as he got the borders edge he stopped. This was probably not a good place for a 7 moon old CloudClan apprentice. He took several steps back and then continued on his way about the border, jumping up trees and rocks as he went.
At some point, he heard some small noise. Maybe some sort of bird or something, he thought to himself and tried to pin point where the sound came from. Finding the approximate spot he wiggled his tail ready to jump over a small bush to scare away whatever it was. When he was ready, he jumped with a ”Rawrrr!!! as he tried to hiss or roar. But what he found wasn’t some prey. It was a cat, an apprentice, about his age. It smelled of MoonClan and he tilted his head. He wasn’t expecting to find any cats on his little stroll. And definitely not apprentices. He went to the edge of the border. ”HI! I’m Darkpaw.” he said without thinking. ooc: sorry it took so long, didn’t see this.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Miserypaw Friendly little thing, cute and innocent, whispered that ever so naughty part of her brain, Mus'nt start a fight Misery, you know you'd be set for life with an unlimited amount of Mousebile and a few Elders to have to use it on so many times... being stuck in camp for her first half moon of what should have been apprenticeship had left her in such agony sometimes Miserypaw thought she was going to go insane!
"Darkpaw why are you outside so late?" she asked seductively and pouted, she wouldn't bite, but playing with her food had never been mummy's biggest worry, she was allowed at least that. Who would stop her as she watched Darkpaw from across the border between her beloved MoonClan and CloudClan (this tom was definitely of CloudClan) Miserypaw let a flirt little smile play at her lips at that last thought... she had come out here to be a hero and would return a tricky villain if she continued on with the mind-set she had right now.
Darkpaw had a mischievous light to his eyes that suggested he may have just crossed the border and hunted on her lands if she had not been here. Miserypaw felt a twinge of respect for him even though she would have slit his throat if he had stepped about three more fox lengths toward her. Miserypaw inched forward afraid she would not be able to defend her border if he decided to cross anyways or worse there was cats behind him waiting to ambush her Clan! Miserypaw tried to settle her newly bristling fur and was thankful it was a chilly evening where Darkpaw would be able to think of her hostility as just being cold.
The grass stirred softly...

Darkpaw No, bad Darkpaw, stop
Darkpaw looked at the gorgeous cat. Her dark pelt shined in the moonlight and her yellow/green eyes actually had sparkles, as if starts came from the sky just so they can be in her eyes. He couldn’t help but take a step forward. He didn’t even notice that in a few more steps he would be in MoonClan territory. Of course, he had no mind of his own and just said the first things that came to mind. And then he would regret saying it. ”You’re pretty.” he said dreamily, only realizing it a few moments too late. ”I-I-I mean, just walking about. Why are you out here?” he asked back hoping she didn’t hear his thoughtless comment.
Of course he wasn’t supposed to like her. She was from another Clan. It would only get him in trouble, big trouble, more than he already was in. It was all forbidden. But Darkpaw wished she could be in his Clan, he wouldn’t leave her for a second, even if she got really tired by him. And what was he to do? He was already in love with her charming spell. He shook his head trying to stop his reckless thinking. No, bad Darkpaw, stop. however he tried, he couldn’t break free from the spell. However he managed to look somewhat casual…as much as he could at least.
He tried to look around as if he was taking in the scenery, but he always ended up looking at her, at her beautiful star-lit eyes on her face. Not only were her eyes beautiful, but her whiskers alone were enchanting. So strange, yet so pretty.
Around, crickets started chirping a new song, while an owl somewhere added in it’s own ‘hoot hoot’. A chill passed Darkpaw, adding to the already cool night air. He took in a breath and smelled the grass around him beginning to refresh from the cold night air. Why didn’t he come out here before? It was so enchanting…unless it was the she-cat in front of him that made it all, the songs of the night, the shining sky. He couldn’t help but be enchanted by the spell he didn’t know.
ooc: ahhhhhhhh, too bright[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Miserypaw
Eyes narrowed to slits. She puffed out her chest and felt a surge of warm power, she had him hooked, her shiny pelt and oh so nice eyes had served her well as the bait, and her deceiving liar tendencies with a dash of flirtatious fun would be what reeled him in.
Darkpaw took steps forward and Miserypaw licked her lips, how easy would this be? The foolish CloudClan apprentice--he had his head in the skies if he thought she would be a good little girl. It wasn't so nice of her, heck it was down-right naughty for the little she-kit to be doing this but she knew that if he took one more step, just one more...
"Thats right, I was victorious here. I made myself something right here in these fields of rolling grass"
These past thoughts, echoed in a twisted and slightly different mind than that of the usual Miserypaw but none the less this was the only thing she ever hoped for and it rang like a bell within the confines of her innocent, childish mind. Her plot was clear and precise; she would attack this foreigner and tell of her great victory over the love-sick fool from CloudClan. Miserypaw would paint the grass surrounding them in shades of red as she fiercely defended her territory and became the youngest warrior to ever be made.
Who said a girl couldn't dream? Maybe Miserypaw would become Miseryfire or Miseryclaw for her tempting and dangerous disposition. The setting could not be any better, the moon splashed across the territory as a forbidden love started and ended all in one bloody night, the grass would stain and maybe even drift into the MoonClan Camp where a perceptive and clever tom would figure out the beautiful Miserypaw was missing and run out into the woods where he would find her, covered in blood and sweat over the unconscious body of a feral, crazed tom-cat.
Said tom would be very handsome and strong, sweeping Miserypaw off her feet and she would grow older, eventually become Clan Leader and maybe later bear healthy, big kits who would carry on her family and posses the amazing gene pool of Miserypaw and the mystery-tom.
Her narrowed eyes refocused and she purred, out one last twining statement that shadowed her true horrorfying intentions, "It's Miserypaw darling, and don't you ever, ever forget it now."
ooc- ah the dreams of a sadistic, vibrant youth...

Darkpaw I'm nothing but a coward
Darkpaw snapped out of his daze. ”You didn’t answer, what are you doing here?” he asked again. He told why he was here didn’t he? She should too. It’s only fair. But then he realized that there wasn’t always fairness among Clans. One Clan would steal from another when there was no food, one Clan would even try to kill cats from other Clans. Why should things be so unfair everywhere. Even cats from other Clans barely spoke to eachother…
But he was speaking to a Moonclanner. He looked around, no one. No one to tell the leader he was here, talking to one of them as he heard some cats say.
He noticed a shine on the she-cats pelt as if a shooting star just passed them above. One probably did, but darkpaw didn’t notice it, he only saw the she-cat. And once again, he was under her spell. He took another step forward but noticed his mistake too late. He was across the border. Realizing this, Darkpaw jumped back quickly with a quiet yelp as if he saw the scariest spider he ever did.
He bent his head down as it suddenly got very heavy. He is probably the worst coward there ever was. He would probably never become a warrior. Never. He could see only too well what sort of coward the she-cat before him thought he was, and she was probably right.
Ooc: sorry for the long wait, busy busy. And sorry for the short post, still busy but found some time, and then just as I was about to post computer deleted everything and had to start over.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

ooc- its fine Hawk, I understand--Im just impatient when Im PMing with you but you aint posting
Miserpaw
With a great yowl she pounced on the intruder, satisfied with her charm, Miserypaw let her true dark nature shine as she attempted to land on the other apprentice her claws unsheathed. Finally she had a chance to prove she was worth something, she could hear her telling Wovenstar the good news already...
The tired she-cat entered the Clan and the cats nearby gasped, bloody Miserypaw was dragged to Dancinghare but she refused to be treated until she spoke to Wovenstar. Wovenstar would come in and ask what had happend. Thats when Miserypaw would tell of a CloudCLan apprentice who had crossed the Border, coming towards her--MIserypaw had defended her Clan with claw and tooth against a possible spy! She would be called brave and be respected forever, maybe one day becoming Miserystar and...
The dream shattered as Miserypaw did a twist in the air and landed on her paws rather clumsily on the edge of MoonClan territory. She couldnt do it, she couldnt seem to bring herself to follow through with her ingenious plan. Something about the innocent look in Darkpaw's eyes, the way he had immediately understood his error and backed up. Maybe she was just going soft, but Miserypaw found herself unable to hurt this fellow apprentice even if he was CloudClan scum.
She shook the dirt off her pelt and locked eyes with him. A smile crept onto her pretty-face.
"Setting you up," she whispered quietly.

Darkpaw Some warrior I would be
Darkpaw saw the beautiful she-cat graceful begin to pounce at him. He was sure he wouldn’t be able to say he did that on accident, he didn’t mean to cross the border. But for some reason he didn’t think he’ll be able to say anything like he usually does. Even worse, he wouldn’t defend himself, he couldn’t hurt the pretty she-cat.
So, there was nothing for him to do but wait. With a last glance at the she-cat, he looked down and closed his eyes, waiting for his death to come. Counting the seconds, he estimated how long it would be until her first claws would reach him.
Some warrior I would be if I lived through this, he thought to himself. Can’t even stand up for myself.
It was then Darkpaw noticed that he didn’t hear a yowl, or the simple sound of cats jumping through air. He looked up, confused. Wasn’t he just about to die? The she-cat was staring at him, or at least looking at him. Some coward she thinks I am now, he thought to himself again. Their eyes locked and once again, he was under her spell.
He still couldn’t believe anyone could be so beautiful. If only she was in his Clan, if only they didn’t have to be enemies. But then again, who said enemies always stayed enemies…

Miserypaw "Dumb boy," she growled her fur on end and her eyes gleaming with hatred. Why did she hate him so much for being so gullible? Miserypaw had expected more from the dark-pelted tom before her. She turned her face in disgust with herself and this other apprentice.
"Leave now..." the end of her threat was open to interpretation, it could be anything from, 'leave now before i kill you,' to, 'leave now before I call you a sissy.' Miserypaw walked away hurriedly--she would be in trouble if any warriors found out she was hanging with a Border-Ignorant CloudClanner, and if any of her friends had seen that... she shuddered.
Miserypaw was known as a bad kittling, but not evil, somehow tricking that apprentice then attacking him seemed more to the seconds side than the first. Miserypaw just wanted to be respected and she now knew twisting the Warrior Code was not the right way. So much for my brilliant plan, my glory and fame... she shook her head to clear the thoughts away and was happy she would never see the CloudClan tom again.
That was all the dangerous young she-cat thought as she walked through the fields that would have once been named after her, the future power she could have wielded and the sins she would have committed. Her head held proudly, chin up toward StarClan and their kingdom among the shining stars and glowing white moon Miserrypaw felt whole. The grass whispered and wind blew it around making it dance as a proud MoonClan cat walked toward her home
ooc- so short, -slap forehead- it gets the point across though.

Darkpaw I could wait, just come sometime
Darkpaw watched as the she-cat turned and walked away to her Camp. For a moment he wanted to go after her, maybe have them talk a little, but that too soon disapeared as she went out of site. The tom watched across the border, hoping she would actually turn back, even though he did now it was hopeless. He sat there with his tail curled around him, knowing there was no use.
He sat there for a long while. As grass slowly grew around him, as the leaves on the trees shook as wind passed by, as birds began chirping in the trees. He might as well have still been under her spell, but she was out of sight.
He woke up from the her spell which still held on to him when a mockingbird sang near him. He looked at the bird. Okay, okay, i'll go. It's time anyway. He stood up and with a last glance over his shoulder, walked back to his Camp. Bye he said to the she-cat who was already long gone from his sight. With that, he rushed back to Camp in the first light of the day trying to get there before anyone noticed he was gone. Darkpaw laughed at how old grandpa Woodbird would have reacted if he saw where he just was.
