wovenknot The jouney to the Moonshard gave Wovenknot plenty of time to think. She barely concentrated on the path she was walking. She padded across the Thunderpath in a daze. The five cats she had chosen to accompany her padded behind her. Aerialcircle, a trustworthy warrior. And four apprentices, Hornetpaw, Lunarpaw, Smokepaw and Valleypaw, her own daughter, plodded along too. The she-cat had never expected this to happen. The last thing she had expected was to be leader of MoonClan by the time the day was out. As the craggy head of the Moonshard's cavern reared into view, Wovenknot took a deep breath. She prayed she was ready for this. She had to be. The she-cat knew in her heart that Cardinalspire was up above her, in StarClan, watching. She wished dearly that he was still with her.
Wovenknot trotted onwards, her tail held high. She hesitated before the entrance of the cavern. "Valleypaw, Lunarpaw," she mewed, addressing the two younger she-cats. "You will accompany me inside the cavern. The rest of you, please stay out here and guard the entrance." Wovenknot then sat down on the green grass, still as stone. They would wait for moonhigh together. When they had left camp, it had been dusk. Now the sky was beginning to darken, and the moon rising. Soon it would be time.

valleypaw."Yes," she meowed, following Wovenknot to the patch of grass and sitting down a ways away from her. Valleypaw realized that she should be on her best behavior, though. Forget any personal quarrels she had with her mother. This was the day that she would become a leader's daughter. This was the day when her mother's long wait would finally be made worth it. She glanced at the longhaired silver she-cat and smiled. She didn't beleive that Wovenknot was mad; maybe a bit overprotective and confused, but mad wasn't a word she could use to describe the soon-to-be leader of MoonClan. She smiled at Lunarpaw, too. She didn't mind the apprentice, but she had never spoken to her.
Rolling over, Valleypaw let the cool spring breeze brush over her fur. She hadn't felt this good in a long time. Even when she thought that things were fraying - Secretcalling's accusations, Firestar's death - she could always find peace in the smallest of things. She watched the pattern of the grass rolling in the wind, feeling more at home here than she ever did in MoonClan nowadays. [/blockquote]

wovenknot The grey tabby opened her eyes as the first silvery rays hit them. Moonhigh had arrived. The threelegged she-cat got to her paws, stretched, and shook herself. Wovenknot then padded to Valleypaw and Lunarpaw, nudging them. "It is time," she mewed softly. The she-cat gave Aerialcircle a little nod, then turned and padded into the cavern of the Moonshard. The stone was cold as raw ice beneath her paws. The air around her grew colder the further in they walked. Wovenknot's lungs felt as though they were freezing, but she padded on. It was only when she felt as though her paws would freeze to the stone at any moment that she spotted a chink of light up ahead. She increased her pace, hope flaring in her chest. Wovenknot eventually reached the glowing light - which was eminating from the crescent-shaped Moonshard.
Wovenknot approached it, crouching in front of it. She extended her neck so that her nose pressed againat the chilly stone. At first she thought that nothing had happened. She blinked opened her eyes in confusion, only to see that the shadowy cavern had disappeared. Grass tickled her paws. A wide plain stretched around her. The sky was dazzlingly bright. Wovenknot frowned in wonder, before her eye caught something in the distance.
// Cue lives. =D It doesn't matter what order.

LUNARPAW]] Her body was crouched low to the ground as they came to a stop. Her ears pinned back and fear and nervousness as she gazed around. This was close. Too close for comfort. She could remember clearly the day that her grandmother had brought her past this very cave, heading for MoonClan. She turned her head, looking at her pelt to make sure there was no blood splattering the white pelt with the black and orange patches. She shuttered the at thought before looking up at Wovenknot, ears perked up as she mentioned her name. "Going in with you?" Lunarpaw whispered quietly, her eyes upon her mentor before moving around to the other apprentices and the warrior.
As the first rays of moonlight became clear, the calico watched her mentor rise from where she was sitting, then walking into the cave. Lunarpaw glanced towards Valleypaw, then slipped in after the silver she-cat. As they approached the light from the darkness, her eyes widen and her breath was sucked in. Keeping her mouth sealed, she watched the soon-to-be leader pressed her nose to the stone, then go limp.
THORNSTAR]] & NIGHTHEART]] Her dainty paws stepped through the clearing, followed by the pounding paws of the larger male behind her. The two watched as Wovenknot woke in the center the plain. Bright green eyes smiled at her foster daughter as she lay in the middle. "Welcome, Wovenknot. I see you have come to receive your lives and name" Nightheart mewed, then stepped forwards and touched her nose to her foster daughter, smiling softly. "With this life, I give you Strength. Use this to aid you in battle, and also during stressful times" She mewed, licking the she-cat over the ears before pulling back, stepping into the line of cats.
The former leader's pelt shimmer with the stars that all of the gathered cats had. His tail waved back and forth as he watched Nightheart step up, then to her place at the end of the line. Glancing at the other cats, he stepped forwards, dipping his head down to the three-legged cat. "Hello, Wovenknot. I am Thornstar, the leader that came before Firestar" He said, voice strong, the touched his nose to hers. "With this life, I give you the gift of Undying Courage in battle" The former leader mewed, then stepped back into line.

mistmirage
Like a silent ghost weaving his way through the stars, Mistmirage descended. His gaze flickered towards his sister, a small smile grazed his face before his expression became stony once more. Only the light in his eyes showed his affection towards Wovenknot. The wiry grey tom blinked, blue eyes eerie in the misty light. He waited patiently for Nightheart and Thornstar to step back before going towards the leader-to-be. He dipped his head so his muzzle was at the same level as hers. He pushed his muzzle first against her muzzle, and then against her grey forehead. Meeting her greenish eyes, he began to speak.
"With this life, I give you loyalty. Use it to be loyal to what you know to be right," he told her gently, voice not louder than a slight breeze. He breathed gently into her ear, feeling the life course through him and into her. Mistmirage had no doubt she would be able to handle it. With another ghostly smile, he stepped back and began to fade into the mist, to rejoin the watching cloud of StarClan cats.[/blockquote]

. Slate-ice . . Just dance, it'll be OK, just dance . Making his way through the throng of cats, he was certainly a face that the gray deputy wouldn't know, even though this tall and slender male was her brother. The tall tom had light, clear, sky blue eyes with white fur and black and silver patches that were paler then the moon. A small smile had caught his face in a charming fixture, he seemed to glide across the ground as he moved toward his sister. As Mistmirage, finished his thin, long legs made him look like he carried himself proud, his small smile turned into a ghostly smirk as he got closer to the leader-to-be. 'Sister, we finally meet.' Slate-ice's voice echoed ghostly off his rolling tongue, his gaze never left Wovenknot's green eyes. 'With this life I give you certainty, so you will lead your clan with no doubt in your decisions.' Slate-ice touched his icy cold black nose to the three-legged she-cat's, he could feel the life disintegrate like mist from his body and into hers. Straightening again on his long slender legs the ghostly male gracefully made his way back to his spot, as he sat down his icy presence left but his ghostly appearance didn't. //. if you want a different description just tell meh and I'll fix it ^^

wovenknot Wovenknot's breath caught in her throat as she recognized the shape as a group of cats. As they got closer, she began to pick out faces. Some she recognized, other's she didn't. Some who she had been close to, others who she had barely known. The grey tabby she-cat's sky blue eyes grew wide as the group came to halt. She watched them warily, wondering if there was something she was supposed to do. As she opened her mouth to ask this, a slender she-cat with an ebony pelt and green eyes stepped from the throng.
The face sent painfil echoes of memory through Wovenknot's mind. Nightheart, the dear queen who had nursed her, cared for her. Who had been like a mother to her - certainly more of a mother than Limestone ever had been. Wovenknot's eyes glistened with memories as Nightheart spoke, in that slightly rough, no-nonsense voice. She nodded weakly. Wovenknot gasped as she recieved the life. She had not expected the jolts of pain, like lightning, that ripped through her insides. Slightly dazed, Wovenknot watched as her foster mother disappeared into the crowd, and a second cat padded forth.
It took her longer to recognize this cat, this large, majestic brown tabby. Recognition lit in her eyes as he spoke his name - Thornstar, the leader of MoonClan before Firestar. The tom had died when she was just a young apprentice. This time, Wovenknot was ready. She shut her eyes and braced herself, and the second life was not quite as painful as the first.
Wovenknot watched silently as Thornstar padded back to take his place in the crowd. The next cat who padded forward was completely unfamiliar to Wovenknot. She blinked at him, feeling terrible. She was sure that she should know him, should recognize him. There was something in the shape of his eyes... Just like Secretcalling's... Then it hit her. This was one of her littermates, one of the brothers she had never known. Mistpaw or Slatepaw. A smile broke across her muzzle, before sadness doused her joy. He was dead. Both of them were dead. She would never truly know them... Wovenknot forgot to brace herself, and the third life was the most painful yet. Shaking slightly, Wovenknot watched her brother pad away.
The next cat was another she did not recognize, a large-ish tom. But he made it easy for her. He was her other deceased brother. Wovenknot smiled at him, her blue eyes gleaming with loss. But she managed to throw up her defenses before recieving this life, so that it was not nearly as painful as the previous one. She pushed back her wistfulness as the tom joined her other brother in the crowd. She would be with them one day, when she died herself and joined StarClan. One day.

carawaypath. & cardinalspire. "Well, aren't you somethin'?" A soft but at the same time firm--if you could imagine that--voice lilted its way toward Wovenknot's ears. A smile graced the frame of the beautiful she-cat, who did not have any marks of the illness that stole her life away nor the anger and depression that made the sickness worse. Carawaypath was the señora's name, and her beautiful silver pelt glistened even more in the light of StarClan.
She touched down on soft paws before Wovenknot, touching her granddaughter on the head. "Don't worry about your father, love. I'll deal with him one day." She touched her tail to the deputy's shoulders. "I give you the life of love, love to a Clan like a mother loves her kits." Sparkling pink fire rushed up like a disturbed hive of bees and shattered in the air above them, raining down and touching Wovenknot's pelt with soft glowing pulsating motions.
"W-Wovenknot?" A hesistant voice mumbled behind the deputy. Carawaypath smiled and faded away as a ginger form took her place. He was much smaller than Wovenknot, always had been, and like the previous she-cat, he bore no signs of the illness that killed him. Cardinalspire tried to smile at the sight of his beautiful mate but he couldn't help but feel terrible that he left her so alone. Starting to cry, the young tom pressed himself against the older queen. "I'm sorry, so sorry. I didn't mean to get sick and leave you. I'm so so so sorry..." He trembled with each sob. He didn't have a life to give but he had to see her.

wovenknot Wovenknot lifted her azure gaze to look at the next cat who left the crowd. Another cat she did not recognize. The threelegged warrioress blinked at the she-cat. She was slender, and startlingly beautiful. The silvery colour of her coat reminded her of something... Yes. The hue of her cursed father's pelt. Wovenknot smiled reluctantly at the beautiful she-cat as she spoke again. This cat had to be her grandmother. "Thanks," Wovenknot mewed, before shutting her eyes and accepting the next life with barely a shudder. The gray tabby opened them to see Carawaypath padding away. Wovenknot gasped as a familiar voice drifted into her eyes. No. It couldn't be him... It couldn't be...
Wovenknot stared into his eyes, the gaze she had not held for so many moons. "Cardinalspire..." she trailed off. At his words, she looked up into his face once more. "Cardinalspire... It wasn't your fault..." The she-cat felt sorrow blossom inside of her. She hadn't seen him for so long, and now... Now he was here...

poplarpaw."Hi, Wovenknot," A small tom emerged from the ranks of StarClan, smiling in a more reserved way than his usual haughty beam. This was his niece that he had never known and the future leader of the Clan. "My name's Poplarpaw. I'm actually your uncle - I know, weird to have a cat that looks younger actually be your uncle -, but I died in a battle a long, long time ago, while I was still an apprentice. I'm here to give you one of your lives..." he paused, flashing her a wide grin. This was a special life that he was proud to be giving, for it was the one that she would need every day, a gift that had governed his last moments of life. Determination. He closed his eyes and breathed in, the living scent of MoonClan wafting off Wovenknot. His eyes became serious and solemn when he opened them, and once again he was the pointed, brave apprentice he had been in life.
"With this life I give you determination," he meowed, stretching up to touch his nose to her's in one swift movement. "Use it well to protect the Clan even when times seem grim."
As he backed away to let the soon-to-be leader speak with cats she had known and loved, he cast her one cheeky glance over his shoulder. "We're all counting on you, so be a great leader for MoonClan." He winked and disappeared from sight. [/blockquote]

Shakenleaf
Shakenleaf's fit form stalked through the crowd and met Wovenknot and Carinalspire. He grinned at Cardinalspire, saying to him silently, "Just had to be with her, didn't you?" He turned to Wovenknot, and touched noses with her. "With this life I give you compassion. Use it to feel the pain of your clanmates, and know how to help them." He stepped back and watched as she recieved her life. When it was over, he nodded. "We're all so proud of you, I hope you know that. And don't worry about Firestar, I've got my eye on her." He grinned before backing back into the crowd.

wovenknot The grey tabby she-cat tore her eyes away from Cardinalspire's face. The face that had haunted her dreams every night, ever since he had died. Wovenknot turned her slightly stunned gaze onto the cat who had spoken, in a younger, more lively voice than any of the others. The MoonClanner blinked at the small tom before her. He was umistakebly an apprentice. Wovenknot nodded at his explanation. His starry coat still carried the faint scent of MoonClan - and Wovenknot realised with a jolt that this young cat, Poplarpaw, was Secretcalling's brother. Wovenknot felt the jolts of pain run through her body as Poplarpaw gave her her next life - pain that was fast becoming familiar and so easier to stand. Wovenknot smiled as Poplarpaw padded back into the crowd. "I'll do my best, uncle," she promised.
The next cat who appeared from the group tore a gasp from Wovenknot's mouth. The lean shape was of Shakenleaf, the loyal, true tom who had been Firestar's mate until his life was tragically cut short. Wovenknot did not have as much time to prepare herself for this life, which made her shudder slightly with the pain. Wovenknot smiled her gratitude at Shakenleaf, still slightly shocked at seeing all these faces from her past... One more than the rest... Wovenknot's soft blue eyes wavered back to her lost mate, her brow creasing slightly.

Owlfur
Owlfur's paws glided across the clearing as he padded over to her. Wovenknot. She had grown so quickly. He reached her finally, and bowed his head. "I'm sorry I was not there to help you through difficult times.." He meowed sadly, before lifting his gaze again. "With this life, I give you the gift of mentoring. Use it well for training young ones." He touched his nose to hers, but before he backed away, he swept his tongue across her ear and murmured, "I'm so sorry about Secretcalling.... But you have the choice what to do with him, now." He backed away, and rejoined the cats.
Firestar
Covered in blood only hours before, it was a strange sight to see Firestar, her mind restored, with a gleaming orange coat like it used to be. She was nothing like the insane cat she had been before her death, but back to the wise, old leader she was. She reached Wovenknot and dipped her head to her. "My apprentice, my warrior, my deputy, my best friend. I couldn't have chosen a better deputy. I knew you would be a great leader someday, and that day is now. With this life, I give you loyalty and faith. Use it to alwasy stay loyal to your clan, friends and Starclan, no matter what happens." She touched noses with the younger cat, and backed away to watch her receive her final life.
When it had passed, she called out, her voice ringing above the trees swaying in the peaceful breeze. "You have your nine lives, and are starting a new life. We will hail you now by your new name, Wovenstar. Your old life is no more. Take care of Moonclan like you did with your kits." She flicked her tail and chanted, "Wovenstar!!" Her voice mixed in with the other cats, sounding as if it were one voice.

wovenstar The threelegged she-cat looked away from her mate once more as another cat padded towards her from the throng. This cat was lean, like her father - in fact, he was the spitting image of Secretcalling. But his pelt was a woody brown, rather than gleaming silver, and his eyes green, rather than sharp indigo. Wovenknot blinked at the tom. She dipped her head at his words, knowing who he was. Owlfur, her grandfather - just like her grandmother, she had never met this tom. Wovenstar accepted the life, letting it shake through her body like a high wind. She watched him go sadly, nodding at his final words. Wovenknot's blue eyes then turned onto the next cat; she gasped. Was it possible...? Only hours ago Wovenknot had dragged her bloody body back to camp... Firestar... The she-cat's eyes glistened as she looked at her former mentor, friend and leader.
Wovenknot took her last life with her eyes wide open, looking into Firestar's face. "Thankyou," she whispered afterwards. Wovenknot blinked as Firestar as she spoke again. It felt as though something was changing inside of her. It was the same feeling that she had felt when her kits had been born... Responsibility. She was leader of MoonClan now. She was Wovenstar, not Wovenknot. It was time for her to lead her clan. Wovenstar gasped as her surroundings shimmered, starting to fade. Her gaze fell desperately on her mate. "Cardinalspire... Please, visit me! I can't do this by myself..."
As the last words escaped her mouth, she found herself awake and stirring beside the Moonshard. She wondered bleakly if her beloved mate had heard her. Wovenstar shut her eyes briefly. Once she left this cave, everything would be different. Taking a deep breath, Wovenstar got to her paws. She turned, to see the eyes of Lunarpaw and Valleypaw gleaming like diamonds in the gloom. "Come." The she-cat limped past them, down the winding tunnel. Dawn was breaking, she could see a chink of light ahead.... Wovenstar gasped as she broke out into cold grey daylight. Her eyes fell on Aerialcircle, Hornetpaw and Smokepaw. She smiled at them. "Shall we go?"
