FADEDSTAR]] Her paws were silent as the low moon peaked out from between the rain clouds that were thinning slowly. The breeze that rushed through the forest soother the she-cat as she stopped by Lake, dipping her head down to take a drink. It had defiantly been harder then she thought. The other leaders had made it look so simple...so...easy. Especially Stormstar. She let out a small sigh as she thought about the former leader. She could still sometimes see the stormy-grey tom walking around camp...but that must have been a figment of her imagination. Fadedstar glancined back as she raised her head, sitting down by the lake. What a lame excuse, bringing your deputy out to speak about his 'kits'...her children. How she wanted to desperatly to talk to them...any of them. Ravenkit was turning into such a handsome kit....while his sister..Timekit was such a pretty little thing. And there was Cinderkit....The mischievous little girl...The leader smiled brightly as she thought of three that had survived both the birth and journey back to camp. She let out a sigh as she thought of Moonkit and Brightkit. Shaking her head again, Fadedstar raised her head, glancing towards the direction she had come from, waiting for Swampfox.

swampfox "So, what's wrong?"
Leaves swept aside as the massive tom walked through the overgrowth that surrounded Wide Lake. He stared straight ahead, exhaling heavily before turning like a horse on the reins toward Fadedstar. He lumbered over to her, easily a head or more taller than her when he sat down.
The Russian Blue raised his ridged brows, not looking at her but the water instead. He reached out and swiped at the liquid, smiling at it. The water was one of his favorite things.

FADEDSTAR]] Taking a deep breath, she turned towards her deputy, letting out the air she had sucked in slowly. Her thoughts were on the gathering, but also her kits....and mate. "I need to get Midnightsky off my back...I just..don't know how." She murmured. Ever since her apprenticeship had come back into her memory, the leader had been struggling to understand how her current mate had come into the picture. He had never there, not in those memories. So...where?
With a shake of her head, Fadedstar's attention returned to the blueish-grey tom in front of her. "I also wanted to know if...the kits have asked about their mother..." She murmured, looking away, her tail swaying back and forth behind her.

swampfoxHe frowned deeply, his grayscale frame pausing from his place now in the water. He turned, sloshing up the liquid around his strapping limbs, and tilted his head. "Get him off your back? Fadedstar...do you...not love him anymore?" The tom was trying to come up with ideas should Midnightsky--He interrupted his own thoughts. "Fadedstar, why did you not tell him about your pregnancy?" His words became barely audible. "Did something happen between you and him?"
But the subject changed to the kits. "No...not to my knowledge. They may have asked one of the queens. Is it time to tell them. I thought we were going to wait until they were apprentices to tell them our secret..."

FADEDSTAR
Taking a breath, the leader's tail flicked back and forth. Yes, she had been thinking for a long time about this. Did she really love Midnightsky, or was it just a fascination with the silver tom? Her pale blue eyes were filled with confusion as she glanced towards her deputy and friend. "No...I don't love him anymore, Swampfox. I don't think I ever loved him" She murmured, eyes ont he ground as her emotions stirred inside her. That might be true, but right now, in this present time, she didn't love him. Not at all.
Fadedstar raised her head, looking at the large, grey tom, letting out a long breath before moving her eyes to the water, where her tail tip rested just below the surface. "I didn't think it wise. I didn't want anyone to have to worry about myself when Stormstar was ill. With Emeraldmyth as she was, without a teacher. " She said quietly, eyes watching her tail as it swirled in the water. "I became too caught up in my duties. With my Clan. I wanted to focus on that, not having to spend time with someone I barely knew anything about" The leader's tail splashed against the water as it lashed back and forth.
"It's not time yet. They have to grow still, to become accustomed to being with their siblings, their foster mother. I know that Dewstep takes care of them, as does Tansyfrost. I trust those two more then I would myself raising them"

swampfoxHe inhaled sharply, tail flicking upon the ground like a whip. "I see..." He took all of her speech in, leaning his weight onto his hindlegs and looking up at the sky. He sighed and looked over at Fadedstar.
"I think you should tell Midnightsky. It's not fair to keep him in the dark about you falling out of love with him, especially if you've found someone you liked." Swampfox's eyes narrowed a tiny bit. "Have you found someone?" He hadn't been into her personal life that much, just enough for the kits' sake and for the leader's health, as a deputy should.
