tama.
It has been a while seen we've last seen Tama. Was was once a chubby chocolate-colored kit had begun to turn into a long-legged tom with smooth fur. He was only about 9 or 10 moons, but adolesence had started to change him already. He strode away from his cramped nest, chocked full with his siblings, and towards Sparrow-Wing Park, a frequent hang-out of his when he wanted to escape the craziness at home. He dodged the mechanical rat-traps called cars that hurtled towards him on the black rivers that criss-crossed in front of the smallish twoleg dens. Finally, his paws touched green grass, and he sighed with relief. He picked his way over to a thick oak tree, where he usually sat by himself. He reclined onto the tree bark, finding the roughness comforting. He closed his eyes, and sighed happily. This was how life was supposed to be.

DARIUS.

The prince marched out into the grassy fields of Sparrow-Wing Park. His servants were annoying him today. How dare they give him tuna on a weekend? That's proposterous! They knew that he was supposed to be treated with steak bits and asparagus tips on their off-days! The tuxedo tom rolled his shoulders. Those two could be so dingy sometimes. Didn't they know how to treat royalty such as he?
Darius' golden eyes set on a brown tom leaning on a tree. Such a peasant that cat was! He remembered when he was born. He'd hardly changed. The son of Tala and Sentrés, of course. Tala. Beautiful Tala. And Sentrés, that thin-furred villager. How dare he take the heart of such a princess like her! The tuxedo tom touched his top hat with his tail-tip in order to straighten it before approaching the other. "I say, you tend to act so undignified. At least straighten your back a bit for royalty, hmm? What do you have to say for yourself?" He was probably quite comical to others at the moment, a thick British accent accompanying the snooty-ness in his tone. Of course, he didn't see it this way.
Darius was serious.[/blockquote]

dakota Her slender frame made a dancing shadow on the stone path as she padded along it. The rough ground underpaw made her wrinkle her nose. Dakota had also grown. She was slim and beautiful, with thick, sleek fur and wide, pretty blue eyes. She tossed her head as a robin flew by. Why would any cat want to catch and eat such a thing? Dakota was surprised to see the longhaired form of her brother, reclining on the grass, as she entered the Sparrow-Wing Park. The pretty youngster padded towards him, her chocolate brown paws light on the grass. She stopped as she spotted Darius, a cat she had seen talking to her mother often, also approaching Tama. She flicked her tail. "He's enjoying himself." Though she had all the beauty of her mother, her personality was nothing like Tala's. Her voice was prim and assured. She knew she could defend her brother if she wanted to. Dakota fixed Darius with a challenging look from pretty deep blue eyes, her tail raised.

tama.
Tama was awoken from his reverie by a deep, regal-sounding voice with a funny accent. Huh? He stood up, and saw a tom with... a hat. And not just any hat. A top hat. Tama's gray eyes opened wide in surprise. Royalty? Whaaat? The hat, along with the accent and the royalty thing, made Tama want to burst out in laughter, which wasn't very much like Tama.
Tama was about to say something, when a cool voice interupted him. He tilted his head, and spotted Dakota coming towards him. 'Lo, Dakota, He breathed. He nodded to her, as a way of thanking her for backing him up. He turned back to the regal tom, curiousity penatrating his gaze. And who are you, good sir?

SAYILU.

She went over the list in her head. She needed those weird mushy leaves that could stick stuff together and some moss. Oh, and she couldn't forget to look for feathers. The she-cat tended to find many of them underneath the shady branches of the oaks and hickories of Sparrow-Wing park. Plenty of birds made their nests around here. And she had to stock up on as many as she could before the avians headed south.
In her jaws was a huge piece of soft Twoleg material, one of those weird pelts that they took on and off. It was many different hues, but they had been covered by dead grasses and shreds of leaves, and not to mention the dirt. Oh, the dirt. It was far from pleasant. But it would have to do. The material made a good transportation device for her supplies. Sayilu stepped further into the park, beginning to pick up the scent of Dakota and Tama, and another strange one. It was stiff and yet it smelled nice, but something about it made her want to vomit.
A funny-looking tuxedo tom had himself placed a few tail-lengths from Tama, who had reclined himself upon a tree. Sayilu barely managed to choke a burst of laughter at the sight of his hat, monocle, necklace, and bracelets. Did he even know how ridiculous he looked? The pretty she-cat abandoned her Twoleg pelt by a shrub and padded towards the trio.[/blockquote] DARIUS.

The tuxedo tom's golden eyes narrowed to slits as he caught the looks in the optics of Tama. "Yes, royalty," he stated flatly. Couldn't this peasant see how obvious it was? He was King Darius! He was he namesake of a king, a Babylonian king! The gold he wore should have been enough to prove it to him. Such an imbecile this cat was! Darius rolled his shoulders, his tail-tip flicking irritably.
The kittypet caught another scent, much like the tom's he was talking to. He turned his head to catch sight of...Tala? No, no, something was different, she smelled different, the stride, the walk was different. It was not Tala, but she looked so much like her. Perhaps an offspring, or some other close relative? No matter, it was not Tala, and would not be treated as the queen would. "Well, you don't simply 'enjoy yourself' when royalty is present," he mewed, giving a 'humph' and turning back to Tama. "Now, now, as I was saying...I am Darius... he trailed off, his ears flicking up as he detected another cat.
He watched as a tan-and-white she-cat dropped a filth-ridden jacket and bounded towards them. He looked at her, an expression of disgust on his visage. Such filth she was carrying! Sayilu noticed his look, narrowing her eyes. "What's your problem?" she growled, her tone quite unusual for her.
"That jacket you were carrying...I can't even imagine sticking such a thing in my mouth! My, my! Some manners, please!"
"Well excuse me. You think I'm weird? How 'bout you take a look at yourself, bucko." It was obvious he was already giving her siblings trouble, so she wasn't about to be sweet as pie to him.
"Bucko? Dear! You have no respect for royalty, do you! That's nothing to call a cat with such class as I! I demand an apology at once!"
Sayilu shook her head and blinked in defiance. For those who really knew it, this was quite a shock. The quiet one in the corner talking smack? Wow. At this point, both felines were bristling intensely. It could go anywhere.[/blockquote]

dakota The Siamese raised one eyebrow, her face scrawled with scorn. "Royalty? What, you?" She smirked. Dakota watched as Sayilu approached. She waved her tail in greeting to her sister. As the tom began to argue with Sayilu, Dakota bristled. "Honestly, what would Mother say if she saw you two fighting?" she mewed with a toss of her pretty head. "Leave us alone, you weirdo." She pushed in between Darius and Sayilu, shouldering her sister gently towards Tama. "Ignore him, Sayilu. He's just a freak in a funny hat." She shot Darius a glare as she said this. The regal tom had made a enemy of her, and that wasn't at all a good thing. She had certainly inherited her mother's fiery temper.

tama.
Tama turned his head again, this time to face his other sister, Sayilu. He raised his eyebrows at her, almost in annoyance. Are all of my siblings following me? But he pushed the selfish thought aside as she promptly began to argue with the proper tom called King Darius. That's so unlike her, He thought with surprise. It was funny how it took a weird kittypet to coax his siblings out of their comfort zone. And all for him! He had never expected that. His siblings had never really done something for him before. It was just one surprise after another.
Dakota stepped in and steered Sayilu towards him, her face creased with worry and anger. C'mon, Sayilu, he's not worth it, Piped up the chocolate tom.
