Crestedfire turned fiery eyes to Grieverstone once he had returned with Highfrost's unconscious body. From his mouth he released a leonine roar at Grieverstone. He had heard what the medicine cat had said and thought it best to defend his leader. Ignoring all protocol completely, the banded tom thundered, "Have you gone mouse-brained, she-cat? By the stars of Silverpelt, can you not see her internal grief? As our leader, she must lead us with strength in her steps and inspiration in her eyes. Were she weak-minded like some newborn kit then all of us would be in panic like half-dead badger cubs!!" he exploded in a rage never before seen in him. Even he was surprised that those venomous words had been thrown from his mouth. His bright tawny eyes were a deathly shade of burgundy and the hair that had named him possessed a more bristly look to it. It was the half-rogue blood in him...
Swallowing a sour lump at the realization of what he had just done, Crestedfire now looked as if he was about to weep. The large tom retreated and then ran off to the medicine den with Highfrost in tow, heavy sobs racking his large frame. "I'm sorry...," he whispered to Highfrost's fur, nudging him into a bed. His shoulders slumped and he silently padding back out to cower at the entrance of the den. Grayface and the others would hate him forever for that.

[[i'm so confused.]]
Ravenpaw padded into camp after Darkmagic, her cheeks still wet with tears. The young she-cat gave a loud sniff, her ice blue eyes still filled with sadness and guilt. Ravenpaw raced over gto Pearlblade as she caught sight of her, and buried her muzzle in the she-cat's soft fur. Ravenpaw took comfort from the feeling of her mother's pelt, but still felt sorrow blossom inside of her. Jaguarpaw was dead. He was dead because she'd been too slow, too stupid.
Pearlblade gave her young daughter's ears a couple of comforting licks, and wrapped her tail around her. She hung her head for a moment or two, greiving for Jaguarpaw. He had been so young, so strong. He would have made a brilliant warrior. At Firestar's question she gave a nod and mewed; "Yes, Firestar." The she-cat licked her daughter between the ears, before pulling away from her and padding silently over to stand beside Brokenheart.
Spectreflame watched her younger sister rush into camp, and scented the young cat's sadness. This should have been prevented, the warrior thought sadly. The snowy she-cat limped from the medicine den, walking over to Ravenpaw. Sitting behind the apprentice, she wrapped her feathery tail around her chest and pulled her against her stomach. Spectreflame watched the others as they mourned for Jaguarpaw, her own thoughts buzzing like wasps in her head.

Grieverstone turned with an icy glare at Crestedfire and hissed under her breath, she didn't know what was wrong with her, I should've been there, if I had had some time, I would have been able to save him, she shunned herself and dropped down from Raven's Ledge, twisting her ankle a bit, but she didn't care. Grieverstone limped towards the medicine cat's den, her head low.

The gray she-cat flinched and shrank against the ground, eyes wide. She'd never seen Crestedfire like that! But then, when his face grew horrified and then miserable- she stood to watch him go, eyes still wide, but her whiskers drooping. She could understand why he'd said that- he was defending Firestar.
"Crestedfire, wait!" she called, bounding after him. She stopped when she was even with him, and licked his ear fondly. "Its okay, really. I probably would've done the same thing, if I were in your position."

[cneter]Darkmagic raised her head at Crestedtfires outburst. She was shocked to see her friend so angry but she knew how bad he woul feel afterwards. She padded over to him and lay her tail over his shoulders. "Dont be sad Crestedfire, you were doing what any Clan cat brave enough would of done and defended your leader" she meowed sadly, looking back over at Jaguarstrike in sorrow.

Grieverstone's whiskers and ears drooped and she lay down in her bed, eating some poppyseeds and a bit of comfrey. She meowed and lay her head on her paws, staring at the dead Jaguarstrike.
Silentmoon looked up when he heard Crestedfire, then turned to him, his glare cold. "They're friends, she's doing what she thinks is right, you have no right to accuse her of her actions," he said icely, yet calmly.

Grayface's heart sank to her paws when Darkmagic lay her tail on Crestedfire. Already, she felt territorial, she glared at the other cat and then looked away, embarassed. She'd not say anything, not about that. But when Silentmoon butted in, her heart felt like ice. She turned to him, her claws itching to come out. Coldly, she protected the gentle ginger tomcat. "And you have no right to tell him what his rights are!" She hissed, her fur prickling and her spine rising. She was taking her jealousy of Darkmagic out on Silentmoon- she knew it was wrong, but she had to do something.

Firestar glared at the medicine cat, icy glare in her eyes. But before her words could leave her mouth, Crestedfire spoke for her. She nodded a silent thanks to the tom, before turning to her clan. "all right, I need patrols. We need to work. I don't want my clan falling apart. Do you hear me?" She bellowed her last words, anger making her relentless.

Crestedfire flinched at Silentmoon's cold retort, his large figure trembling at the tom's words. "I said I was sorry," he squeaked out, curling up in a dark corner. At least, Darkmagic and Grayface had defended him. Trying to find his voice and courage that had been spent on taking home Highfrost and meeting Grayface, he managed to say, "Darkmagic, Grayface, wait, stop. Don't pounce on h-h-him. I m-m-made a mistake and I said I was sorry. We can't have MoonClan falling apart." The banded tom gulped some held air and poked out his head from his shadowy alcove. He flashed both she-cats a glance that said thank you. He turned to Grieverstone and bowed his head low.
"Take care of Highfrost," he whispered to the medicine cat. The ginger tom stopped at the entrance. "I'm...going to the gathering. Grayface, can I talk to you after that?" Without waiting for her answer, powerful muscles tensed under beautiful fur as the male crouched and slowly lunged out of the den. His tail swooped up and then vanished.

"He should learn to not be such a scaredy-cat," Silentmoon hissed under his breath. Then he turned to Grayface, fur bristling, eyes on fire. "You don't understand... you'll never understand," he whispered, then padded towards the warriors den.
Grieverstone blinked at Crestedfire, then put a paw over her muzzle.
OOC:// Grieverstone's all depressed now and she's too depressed to bother helping with herbs. I needs someone to cheer her up.

Waking up from a long nap due to his poppy seeds, Garza pushed himself up. His foreleg was healing well, but he still needed to limp. Padding out from the den, he noticed many cats gathered, weeping. There was a sense of stress, pain, and misery hanging thickly in the air. Something was wrong.
The kind she-cat who'd helped him so much to heal was very upset as well. But she looked guilty in a way. Was she responsible for this disaster in some way? He sighed. He didn't even know what was really happening, so he shouldn't bother sticking his nose in it. He still wondered whether he was to join this "Clan" or not.

Grieverstone looked at Garza, "One of our apprentices just died, they're grieving for him," she andswered his thorughts. She yawned, coming over her stupid thoughts, "Why don't you lay back down,it's gonna take a while longer before your leg is fully healed."

Garza's eyes showed sympathy. "Oh, mi es muy sorry..." he mewed sadly. "Okay then." He began to limp back to his mossy bed. He looked back at Grieverstone over his shoulder. "But if there es anything mi can do, let mi know." His tan image was then flooded by darkness as he made his way back in the den.

"Yes, Garza," Grieverstone smiled weakly. Then she laid her head on her paws, eating a vole from her small pile of two mice and a vole.
Silentmoon padded over back by Jaguarstrike, and bowed his head.

Grayface's heart leapt, and she could only nod as he left, and watch him until his figure disappeared.
