Name Bearpaw
Gender Tom
Age Six moons
Clan SerenityClan
Rank Apprentice
Looks Bearpaw has always been a fairly well-structured cat. With a spine as straight as his fangs, he tends to stand quite tall amongst others his age. This may give some the impression that he is actually one of the older apprentices… which Bearpaw loves, as he occasionally gets extra privileges. The tom has some bulk to him, although it suits him well-enough. Besides, it pays to have weight to throw around. In this fashion he has odd proportions- he looks rather slinky and a tad slim, but with muscled legs. Still, Bearpaw works with what he has quite well. His narrow chest is bordered by downplayed shoulders, and followed up by a slightly sloping back. His hips are a bit wider- which makes sense, given his strong back legs. There’s certainly some potential for him to become a good warrior- at least in terms of strength, if not morals- with the proper training.
There is little variety to Bearpaw’s shading- for that’s all it is. Shades of silver-gray decorate his pelt. The coarse fur has some shine to it in the sun, but for the most has a matted tone that reflects nothing, unlike some silvery cats. His coat is short, and only a tiny bit longer on his short tail- his caudal area could be reminiscent of a badger or, his namesake animal, the bear. Height and personality aside, it is probably to most unique thing about him.
Perhaps the main reason he looks older than his age is his size; however, he has very well-crafted features that are somewhat timeless. A tad of kit-fluff on his stomach is probably the only evidence that he's actually under ten moons. His narrow, yellow-green eyes, however, support the lie. There is definite intelligencece behind the pale, malevolent green orbs. From the front, Bearpaw's muzzle looks flat, the slope of his nose being very gradual and not all that great. The nose itself is a small, dark gray affair that is usually quite clean, unlike some cats his age. Beneath sprout a multitude of fine white whiskers. Overall, his muzzle is somewhat rounded and small. In spite of this, his silver tongue is sharp and he can verbally lash out quite forcefully at times.
ActionsThis young tom has a rather varied attitude when approaching life. In general, he seems to be the typical apprentice: eager, adventurous, and quite competitive. There is no lie to this. Bearpaw is quite interested in his Clan and becoming a warrior. However, there will certainly be obstacles for him.
Bearpaw is not one to take confinement easily. He is energetic- and more often than not, it seems he imisdirectingng said energy. Within the apprentices' den, the tom likes to pick on those younger and smaller. He is quick to look sharp at the sight of a warrior, but can be a bit of a terror to some. One of his favorite cats to torment is his sister, Terrapinpaw. Nevertheless, be assured that Bearpaw will go after anybody he sees fit to. Dissuading him takes a lot of pressure, and only those close to him know how to do it with varying degrees of success.
Coupled with a short temper, this may make Bearpaw seem like bad company. In some cases, it could be true. Yet there are times when he will act nicely enough- often for personal gain. Yet for a bully, he can actually have quite the conversation. Wordplay amuses him to no ends, and he may find a friend in somebody with a similar attitude.
PastTaintedlily and Hartflight were an odd couple. He was a hostage of sorts; captured by her as ordered by her rogue superior. Hartflight accepted his situation rather well. In fact, the rogues actually began to consider him a friend of sorts. Taintedlily was the closest of them all, though they didn't flaunt it at all- quite the opposite. A rogue and a hostage?
Hartflight was not the only tom who took a liking to Taintedlily. Xander, her rogue leader, had secretly admired her for some time. It was he who had first ordered Hartflight's capture, and when he saw fit, he decided that the kidnapped tom had no more use. And not wanting to seem soft, he ordered Taintedlily to kill the tom.
The rogue she-cat protested immediately, and within minutes Xander and she were fighting- and no common catfight either. With vicious blows exchanging paws, it was lucky that Taintedlily confessed when she did. The rogue explained how she was to have kits. Xander knew they couldn't be his, and, in a rage, wenafterer Hartflight.
The Clan cat was wounded badly- losing blood with every step. Xander had let them leave after taking his anger out on Hartflight, although both were in bad shape. Hartflight died soon after- but not before Taintedlily gave birth. Considering the fact she barely looked pregnant, the six kits came as quite the surprise. Taintedlily was, after her fight, not healthy enough to take care of so many kits. Instead, after burying Hartflight, she brought them to SerenityClan. She wanted her kits to become warriors- like their father.
In spite of it all, Bearpaw isn't all that knowledgeable about his past. He, along with his five siblings, was raised mostly by Goosewing, their foster mother. Even as a young kit, Bearpaw liked to pick on Terrapinpaw. When the mother's away, it's that cats that play. He nearly managed to 'escape' from camp once, and was scolded. It didn't make much of an impact- Bearpaw now knows that when you try to break the code, best to do it when nobody's looking.
At the age of six moons, the six kits were apprenticed. Bearpaw was quick to take advantage of his neprivilegeses, and enjoys roaming the territory.

The weather was warm enough for newleaf. Cool winds blew by every few minutes, rustling the tall grass. It helped with hunting. You learned to sway like the grass, and the mouse will never see you coming. The warrior's words were now playing over again in Bearpaw's head- not his mentor's words, sure, but what he believed was good advice.
Then Bearpaw caught sight of something. It had looked like a mouse- the grass had its cons too, one of them being that it was ahrd to see through the solid plant material. The apprentice moved after the rodent, and saw it nibbling some cowslip stems. It seemed concentrated on the task. Bearpaw felt a rush of adrenaline flow through him, and his eyes glowed with the look of a predator. Hunting was fun.
Claws unsheathed and fangs poised for the kill-bite, the cat leaped from his small patch of disguising grass. The mouse turned, looked at him, and was about to flee when the apprentice made his kill. He lowered his jaws, using the much-practiced, spine-snapping bite to kill the mouse. Then, brushing it into his previous hiding spot, he carried on.
