Name: Longpaw
Gender: Tom
Age: Six moons
Clan: BrightClan
Rank: Apprentice
Looks:pelt.
Longpaw's pelt length is long and it's slightly whispy. As he gets older, it will lengthen and make him look a bit more bigger than he really is. He's primarily white, but then the top of his head is a light, ginger color. His tail is mostly ginger, though it's interrupted by a few white spots. He has a single white spot on the left side of his body right near his flank.
paws.
Now why would I be telling you how his paws are? Certainly all I have to say is is that they're regular sized, not to small, not to big, right? Well, no, not right. What? Well, Longpaw's paws are different from your average cat's. He's has polydactal feet. Now what in StarClan's name is that? That means he has six toes. Yes, you heard me right, six toes. Isn't that odd? He appears to have a thumb, they look like mittens. My, how many claws you have, Longpaw. The better to claw your fur off, my dear.
body size.
For an apprentice, he's fairly large. He tends to be bigger than most apprentices, he's the opposite of his sister, Tinypaw. Hence her name. His fur makes him appear larger than he really is, but even if you shave all of it off, he'll still be large. He's not as big and brawny as a warrior, but for an apprentice he is big. He's muscular, too muscular for his age, therefore he's mistaken for a very young warrior, or at least a very old apprentice. Some that don't know him have asked what it was like to be a warrior, and he just simply laughs at that question. He doesn't understand how some people mistake him for older. Surely they can tell by his face that he was a new apprentice.
height.
I know what you're thinking. What do you mean by him being larger than the others? Is he taller or brawnier? Well, ladies and gentleman, he is bother. But he's not extraordinarily huge, surely there are other apprentices that are much, much bigger than he is. His height is more than the average for his age, probably an inch or two more, not by too much.
Actions:
interacting with others
When Longpaw first meets another warrior from his own clan, he tries to be as friendly as he can be. He'll try to start a conversation, but he will most likely just end up rambling and stumbling over his own words. Many warriors and apprentices and kits snicker at him for this, therefore he gets embarassed. Longpaw is the kind of cat to get embarassed easily, and he hates that thing about him. But once he gets to know you, he'll mellow out and become himself. Now what might hiself be? Well, read on, my dear.
outline of his basic personality
Longpaw is typically a goof, he always loves challenges and adventures, he even enjoys getting in trouble at times. I know, that's a bad thing, but he doesn't do it often. Longpaw is very defensive of himself and others, sometimes he unecessarily defends himself and acts all rude and attitude-ish. He's like this for unknown reasons, it's just the way he is. He hates when people ask him why he is the way he is. They yell at him for the way he acts, it's so stupid. He usually stays quiet when people ask him these stupid questions, and he just grumbles and bites his tongue. You don't know how badly he wants to throw insults at everyone who does that.
procrasinator and other information
Unfortunately, Longpaw can be a bit lazy sometimes, and he's a huge procrasinator. He's not a morning cat, therefore he always complains when he has to go on dawn patrols. The whole time they're out there, he mumbles, grumbles, and hisses at the apprentices try to talk to him. But if there's something exciting going on, like trouble at the borders. He's raring and willing to go, sometimes he's much too bouncy and excited then. He absolutely despises cats that cause trouble. He also despises arrogant, selfish, stuck uip cats. It makes him want to claw their fur off.
Past:
birth
It was a peaceful night, the beautiful tabby queen sat in the corner of the nursery. Her paws were tucked neatly under her chest, and she was about to fall asleep. But her stomach was killing her, for it was swelling with kits. There were stabs of pain in her stomach, the kits were moving around. She began to breathe unevenly, and immediately got up and began to pace. It was wretched, she couldn't stand the pain. Finally the Queen collapsed, a small screech waking the snowy white mother of two foolish little kits. She realized what was happening, and the other queen ran to get the medicine cat. Lillypad began to give birth before the medicine cat could even get there. The first one out was the tiniest, she was mostly tabby with a white chest, underbelly, and paws. The second one to come was mostly white with a few ginger markings, this was Longkit. And the last one was a pure black cat, the second biggest and second smallest.
Lillypad named them Tinykit, Longkit, and Reedkit. Tinykit was the only she-cat.
days as a kit
"UGH! Why can't we go?!?" Reedkit whined, his tail lashing furiously as he watched the gray warrior follow the patrol. Longkit sighed, curling his ginger tail around his white body as he sat down beside his brother. "Because we're only kits," he hissed, the fur along his spine bristling as he glared out at the sun drenched camp. "Not fair," his brother hissed. Longkit simply sighed, turning his head to look at his sister curled up in a ball. "Keep it down, you two, I'm trying to sleep," Tinykit murmured softly, burying her white nose under her snowy white paws. "You always sleep," hissed Longkit, picking himself up and bounding over towards his sister. Immediately the kit pounced on her, rolling all over the nursery, locked together. Tinykit batted her brother's stomach with her hind paws and hissed in an annoyed way, pushing him off of her small body. "I need my beauty rest," she murmured, giving Longkit a final whack in the head with her right paw. The white and ginger tom glared at his sister as she went to lay back down in her corner. "Kids, time to eat," Lillypad, their tabby mother said softly. She batted Tinykit's ear softly with her paw and headed out to the fresh kill pile. Reedkit bounded behind her, his nose near her heels. Longkit lingered back, waiting for his sister.
After they ate, Lillypad quickly fell asleep, as did the other Queen and her two kits. Longkit bounced around the nursery with Tinykit and Reedkit, and suddenly they all paused. "Hey!" Reedkit exclaimed quietly, pushing his sister a bit. "We should go have an adventure outside of camp!" Immediately Tinykit hissed, rearing up on her hind legs and giving her brother a nice whack. "Mouse-brain! We'll get in trouble! she screeched quietly, the fur along her spine bristling. "You're boring, Tinykit. We should go out and have an adventure. Come on Tinykit, it'll be fun," siad Longkit with a half smile. Tinykit shook her head fiercely and stalked off to the end of the nursery. "Fine, be that way," Reedkit mumbled, lifting his body from the ground. "Alright, let's go.."
The two kits shivered in fear as the fox came bounding towards them. They yelped and ran as fast as they could, staggering and scrabbling over obstacles. "Run Longkit, run!" Reedkit yelled as the fox came up behind his brother. The white and ginger kit screeched and leapt forward, panting heavily. They bounded through the thicket, their eyes wide as they stumbled into camp. "Fox dung!" hissed Reedkit, stumbling behind a bush. "We've lead the fox to our territory!" he gasped, reeling his brother behind the bush with him. They both tried to get control of their breathing as they watched the fox bound into camp. "Tinykit was right, we are mouse-brains," whimpered Reedkit quietly. Longkit slapped his paw over his brothers mouth and backed up, when he saw a bunch of their clanmates attack the fox at once.
Their mother, Lillypad, came running out of the nursery, Tinykit's head peering out from the opening along with the two other kits. "Oh no," Reedkit whined. "We're going to be crow food." Longkit nodded and swallowed hard. "You can say that again," he whimpered weakly, flattening his body to the ground.
"You two are in SO much trouble! First, you scare the daylights out of me by going out on your own, then you lead a fox into our territory! What in the name of StarClan were you two thinking?!" their mother hissed, her voice high pitched and exasperated. Tinykit snickered and leaned against her mother. "You told!" Reedkit hissed at her. "I didn't have to tell," she giggled. "But you would have," Longkit murmured, his tail pressed against his rump. "Maybe," she hissed darkly. Oooh, Longkit hated his sister right now.
In Character:
A low, muffled, hiss emitted from the white and ginger apprentice’s mouth, which was stuffed with moss. All the twigs were picked out with his teeth and his claws. His fur along his spine was bristled, this work was absolutely galling. He hated spreading moss to make a new, fresh bed for the elders. He hated it, it made his skin tingle. They were nauseating and grumpy; they weren’t Longpaw’s favorite cats. “I can’t wait ‘till I’m a warrior, no more doing dirty work for the old cats,” he murmured under his breath as he passed another apprentice. Longpaw’s eyes darted to the cat’s ebonite fur, immediately recognizing Reedpaw. He wasn’t paying much attention to what was going on around him, and his brother’s individual scent was blocked by the smell of the moss. Nodding to his brother, he continued his way reluctantly over towards the elder’s den. “Veterans,” he hissed quietly, scoffing a bit at what was obviously going on in his head. Those no good, mangled-fur, whiney, annoying, mouse-brained cats didn’t deserve “veteran” as their title. Veteran meant experienced and looked up to, and he sure did not look up to those old, grumpy cats. They can’t even pick ticks off of their own bodies anymore. They have to have the apprentices do that. Longpaw hissed and paused at the entrance, not really wanting to face those grumpy old cats.
It was obvious that Longpaw had no respect for the elders, he didn’t realize that they were once young, and they truly did deserve veteran as their title. They have a story to tell, like every cat does, but theirs are more important. They’ve seen more than anyone has, they did deserve respect, but Longpaw didn’t believe that. Inhaling deeply though his pink nose, the white and ginger patched male slinked into the den, his body low to the ground as he crept forward cautiously. “Ahh, bedding,” and old gray female croaked, lifting her stiff body from the ground, struggling a bit. Longpaw cringed as he saw the string of spider web like scars strung across her left flank. A clump of her fur was missing on her shoulder, and her eyes looked worn and tired. The apprentice visibly shuddered. Hopefully he wouldn’t become like her. The female chose not to take notice of this young cat’s rude actions; instead she smiled warmly at him, which surprised Longpaw. Usually all the elders were grumpy. His whiskers twitching, he carefully made his way over towards her old bedding, poking around in it with his left paw. It stunk. He glanced at her for a moment, his stomach churning. Quickly he shoved the old bedding away and placed down the new one. It sure did look comfy, if only cats fetched his bedding for him. Elders, in a way, were lucky to be waited on hand and foot. Why were they so grumpy when their life was so luxurious? Longpaw took a quick look around, happy to see that other apprentices had already taken care of the two other elders’ beds, and they were sleeping in them quietly. With out hesitation, the apprentice sped out of the den, his legs moving quickly beneath his nimble body. Oh, now he got why they were so grumpy. They weren’t as fast as he was. A mrrow of laughter bubbled at his lips lined with pink. A small smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he sped towards his sister, Tinypaw. Perhaps he should go hunting..
Ooc// Just a demonstration of how I’d RP him, I shortened it, because I’m saving my muse for a real post.
