As far as size goes, Raincatcher is pretty normal. He's medium-sized and as well-fed as a Clanner can go, but you'll see that he'll be the first cat to give up his meals if there's a famine or drought. He's got powerful shoulders and hips, even if they are regular-sized, and a proportional pentagonal head with a rather angular jaw. His body ends in long fluffy tail while his pelt, while short, has these long hairs that mingle all around the tom's body.p e r s o n a l i t y ;
Speaking of pelt, that's the thing that makes Raincatcher unique. From tip of his tail to the tip of his nose, he's brown and black. Yep, that makes this tom a tortoiseshell. Don't worry; he doesn't mind not being the father of kits. He actually prefers it that way. However, I'm digressing. Back to the tortie business.
Three-fourths of his nose is pink but the other fourth of to the left is black. Most of his face is also black, but there's a brown patch on his muzzle and a tan streak down between his eyes. On the right side of his face, there are some flecks of brown, more so than the right. The flecks of this hue seem to continue until you get to his right hindleg. His entire thigh seems to be the color of caramel. That might be the biggest blotch of brown on him. Everything is else is all little patches here and there.
Underneath the hair is skin that's been tempered to the weather for many moons, and under this skin are powerful muscles and the blood pumped to keep him running for a long time. His paw pads are mottled like his nose, pink and black, and hidden in his paws are clear claws. He's got to be running well with a body like that, right? Well, here are the other things that help him get his job done. His large ears are black and dappled brown and the hairs in them help him filter sounds. His rough tongue keeps his pelt smoothed down--it's quite wiry and tends to fluff out a lot--and it also helps scrape meat off of his prey's bones. His eyes, however, are quite beautiful. They're a gold-ochre color with a ring of tawny around the slits. When he's startled, they open as wide as an owl's, and when he's angry, they can be quite frightening to look at.
Raincatcher would be an amazing older brother if you knew him. He stands up for what he thinks is right, even if no one else does, and he hates it when the good guy loses. If a problem goes by without being settled, he'll bring it up again so that it does get settled and can't recur. He tends to be the authority of his siblings, but he's someone you can come talk to about your problems. He's quite practical and he dislikes it when someone is wasteful. He's quite a disclipined, methodical, and organized cat.[/blockquote]p a s t ;
Another thing that's a major quality in Raincatcher is his honesty, so much that it's almost brutal. He's trustworthy, dependable, and reliable because of it. He's a responsible hard worker and quite independent, which means that you don't have to constantly give him orders. He tends to be a natural leader, and he tries to do things that would be good for the Clan instead of inviduals. He's never fickle, always standing steadfast by one opinion unless he finds out that the beliefs he once had are no longer good. However, he can be stubborn about changing his ways, and it may be difficult to persuade him on some things.
He tends to be focused more on the job at hand than playtime, and he can be a strict mentor. However, if you've got a rough or mean apprentice on your hands, Raincatcher is the one to send them to. He can definitely straighten them out. He's a strong, loyal cat, and you can always depend on him.
Windystorm met Raccoonmask when they were apprentices but there was one problem. Raccoonpaw was of BrightClan. Windypaw persuaded the she-cat to have her kits on EclipseClan territory, where he then claimed to have found them astray. The kits were named Rainkit, Tortoisekit, and Wavekit, and they grew up with neither natural-born father or mother. Windypaw didn't really care about his kits. In his eyes, Rainkit was a freak, Tortoisekit was too cheeky for her own good and should get beat into submission, and Wavekit was just begging to get used and abused. He never talked to them at all. It didn't really matter to the three siblings, for they had a good mother in Sungazer. She was more of a parent than Windystorm and Raccoonmask combined, and she saw them to apprenticeship proudly.[/blockquote]r e l a t i o n s ;
Rainkit was named Rainpaw. It was at this point that Windystorm was now attempting to put his son down. The reason was because that the tom was a tortoiseshell. What made matters worse was that he was given Windystorm as his mentor. Rainpaw could tell that Windystorm hated him so he did his best to give his--unknown to him--father reasons not to. He was a diligent apprentice, and he always stood up for what was right. Near the end of his apprenticeship, Windystorm called Tortoisepaw, Wavepaw, and Rainpaw together and he told him exactly what he thought of them and what relationship they were to him. When Wavepaw began to cry and she asked why he hadn't told them sooner, Windystorm called her a bunch of rude names. Rainpaw snapped, and lashed out at his father. The toms began to fight fiercely, broken up only by Tortoisepaw's massive girth and a few warriors pulling Windystorm away. Windystorm scathingly made some nasty comments at Rainpaw and stormed out of EclipseClan in favor of his mate's BrightClan, never to return.
Rainpaw comforted his sister Wavepaw, and later that night, Amethyststar made them warriors. Rainpaw was named Raincatcher. Wavepaw was named Wavedancer. Tortoisepaw was named Tortoiseclaw. Raincatcher soon proved himself to be a capable and valuable warrior, earning his stripes in several rogue battles and fighting off badgers. Because of this, he was given an apprentice in his thirtieth moon, a she-cat named Nutpaw. She was stubborn and brash, kind of like his sister Tortoiseclaw, but Raincatcher knew how to handle her. She became Nutpelt in his thirty-sixth moon.
A few moons after that, he received some news at a Gathering. His father and mother had had another litter in BrightClan, three toms named Viperkit, Tumblingkit, and Vermilionkit, and two she-cats named Vinekit and Eveningkit. Raincatcher couldn't help but feel sympathy for the kits that were to have an abusive and neglectful parentage. In his forty-sixth moon, he was also at the Gathering that named those five kits as apprentices. He decided to talk to them, and while they didn't reveal anything about their parents, another queen confirmed his fears. The five apprentices had been neglected and abused by their parents, and anyone who tried to help the kits defend themselves were chewed out and had their ears clawed. Raincatcher revealed to the apprentices everything that had happened to them, and the five were joyous to find out that they had an older brother and two older sisters. Vermilionpaw was the bravest one, venturing out of his Clan to meet up with his brother and sisters. However, Raincatcher told him to stop so that he wouldn't get in trouble, but that they could meet at Gatherings.
Raincatcher has fought in many battles, the most recent of those being those with the Tribe.
