puppetflame The large orange tom uncurled from his spot, letting loose a large yawn. He stretched out his front paws and arched his back. Then he laid back down on his side and started grooming himself. Mahoganyflight's nest was still a bit warm and still had her scent. He cleaned out between his toes and flexed his claws. Puppetflame's stomach growled, "Shut up, I'll get some food later, right now I gotta wait..." he told it. He wrapped his tail around himself, his bulky mess covering his little moss nest.
Puppetflame started to wonder where Mahoganyflight could possibly be. He had something he needed to tell her. Then, as he thought about what it was, he began to become nervous. If it was possible, he would be in a cold sweat now, rubbing his 'hands' together. But, of course, he wasn't human. Instead he just sat there, trembling a bit. Then he got up and paced around. Puppetflame had never thought that /he/ would fall in love. [/blockquote]

Make it go away, I don't wanna see it anymore! The agony, the pain, It hurts too much!
Mahoganyflight Mahoganyflight had just stepped out to test how cold it was. It was pretty chilly. She felt her stomach rumble, so she darted over to the freshkill pile to grab a mouse, then decided to pick something up for Puppetflame. He must be awake, that lazy lump! She purred to herself. She grabbed two mice and padded back to the warm warrior's den. She noticed that Puppetflame was up. She padded up to him and dropped the mice. 'Here you go. You're finally up, you lazy lump.' She teased. Then she shivered. It was cold out. 'It's cold, today!' She mewed. Then she noticed his impatientness. 'Something wrong, buddy?' She asked him. [/sup][/blockquote]

puppetflame He looked up from the ground as he heard Mahoganyflight's voice and he felt like his heart would skip a beat. All the cold sort of melted from his bones as he saw her face, her eyes, her fur. As he smelled her familiar yet wonderful scent. His drug. He noticed two slightly fat mice lodged between her teeth. She dropped one in front of him and he bent down and ate it quite quickly. He was famished.
'Something wrong, buddy?'
He swallowed and looked up, looking for something inane (and off the topic he wanted to be on) to say to get her distracted. "Your fur is sticking up like a porcupine's needles," he murmured as he buried the bones of his mouse. When he looked up again he almost melted. Then he shook himself, he didn't want to go the rest of their friendship without her knowing how he really felt about her.
Puppetflame swallowed a salty lump in his throat and took a timid step forward so his body pressed against hers in friendly way. As if to keep her warm when all he really wanted was to have their fur mingled and her scent upon him. "Mahoganyflight, have you ever..." he searched for the right words, "Have you ever thought you would ever fall in love?" He stared at his paws. [/blockquote]

Mahoganyflight Mahoganyflight bent down and ate her mouse. She went utside and buried her bones, then went back into the den. She sat beack downbeside him and heard him mew something about her pelt. She turned quickly and flattened her fur. Once she had it flattened, she turned back to Puppetflame. 'There, that's better.' She mewed happily. When he pressed against her, she felt warmer. 'Ahh, that's better, thanks!' Then, abruptly, at his question about love, she leant away from him and looked up into his soft eyes. 'Well, I don't know. I- there is a tom, but I don't know if he loves me back.' Then a warm feeling spread through her as these words suddenly rang true. A feeling that she had been keeping locked away for so long suddenly peeked its head out. Love. She suddenly realized that she loved this tom from the moment they really talked on the waterfront. She kept looking at him, then repeated his question. 'Have you ever thought that you'd fall in love?' She asked him, leaning back into him as the chilly air blew into the warm warrior's den. puppetflame His heart felt empty when she said there was another tom. Of course, he was a big lump, stoic, no one would love /him/. His voice cracked a little when he answered her question and his throat felt dry, "I never once thought that I'd fall in love. To be frank, I never thought that I would ever talk to a she-cat - typically any cat - in my life."
Puppetflame chewed his tongue, processing his thoughts. Then he touched his nose to Mahoganyflight's muzzle and kissed her. He wanted to win her. He didn't want her to be anyone else's. He /had/ to win her over.
"But I think I've fallen in love with you."

Mahoganyflight Mahoganyflight gazed up into the tom's eyes. 'Oh. So is there a-' Her mew was muffled by the sudden action on Puppetflame's part. She leaned away from him for a moment, heard what he said, then pressed against him so hard. She was purring so loudly. 'Oh, Puppetflame! That's - that's wonderful! I love you too!' She pressed against him, not wanting to leave his side. [/sup][/blockquote]

puppetflame As she pulled away he flinched, waiting for a smack for what he had done. But then he felt her pressed against him and purring. He began to purr too and their sound flowed together in a rhythm. Then there was drumming on the roof of the den and Puppetflame looked outside. There was a light rain. Thank StarClan the fresh-kill pile was under a tree.
The tom pressed against Mahoganyflight and flashed a crooked smile. Then he frowned, even though he didn't want to say it, curiosity got the best of him.
"But wasn't there another tom?" [/blockquote]

Mahoganyflight She had a mate. She had a best friend. Her life seemed to click back into place as the two sat there purring and watching the rain fall. Then Puppetflame asked a question. She pulled away from him, looking up into his eyes, hers sparkling with amusement. 'Silly, you were the tom I was talking about.' She playfully flicked him with her tail. Then she leaned back into him. 'This reminds me of that first night, when you told me that tale. Did you know that I was falling in love with you from that moment?' She asked him, purring still. [/sup][/blockquote]

puppetflame He smiled with a little surprise but mostly love when she said that he had been the tom. His eyes sparkled and when she leaned into him and settled in comfortably [keep in mind that he was /much/ bigger than her]. He blinked his amber eyes and looked down at her, shaking his head.
"Really? I guess I was too. You were the first cat I had talked to without being forced to do so," he purred, twitching his whiskers and wrapping his slightly poofy tail around his love.
"Did you know the rain is almost as beautiful as you?" [/blockquote]

Mahoganyflight A smile crept onto Mahoganyflight's face as her much larger mate wrapped his tail around her. She nodded. 'Well, you were the one I needed, I guess. My mother had just died, I had a huge fight with my siblings, then I found you.' She nodded slightly. Then she heard his comparison. 'Wow, you really think so? The rain is quite beautiful. But, the handsomest landscape in the whole forest isn't nearly as handsome as you.' She purred, then looked out at the rainstorm. She suddenly wanted to go out in it. She wanted to run and go have fun. 'Hey, wanna go have some fun?' She asked palyfully. [/sup][/blockquote]

puppetflame He blushed a little as Mahoganyflight compared himself to a 'handsome landscape'. Then he chuckled a little bit, "You mean go out in the rain?" He put on a slightly gay voice, "But I don't wanna get my /fur/ wet." He grinned and ran out of the den, turning to face her. Just a few seconds out in the storm and his fur was already drenched. "If I get Greencough I'm blaming you!" he called, teasing her.
Puppetflame shook his fur out but it didn't work since he was still out in the rain. "I'm thristy now," he said and licked his chest fur, "Ahh. Refreshing!" [/blockquote]

Mahoganyflight Mahoganyflight giggled and followed Puppetflame. When he stopped and spoke about his fur, she laughed. 'Haha! Nice. How about I splash you!' She jumped into a puddle and splashed Puppetflame. Then she leaned down and drank from the same puddle. 'Yummy! I love fresh water like that!' She mewed happily. Then, she backed away, growled, and then pounced on him and started to bat him. 'Battle practice!' She cried playfully. [/sup][/blockquote]

puppetflame He couldn't help but bellow out a laugh as Mahoganyflight tackled him. He landed on his back and he batted her ears. He stopped for a second and made eye contact with her, his dancing with bliss.
Puppetflame lifted his head up and touched noses with his mate, blinking from the rain. Then he pulled back and rolled over, pinning down Mahoganyflight. Lightly though, considering the fact that he was much more heavier than her. He batted at her playfully. [/blockquote]

Mahoganyflight Mahoganyflight hissed palyfully as her ears were batted at. Then, when Puppetflame touched her nose, she touched her nose back to his. Then, she was tackled. She pawed at him to get off of her, chuckling. She managed to push the tom off of her. Then, she backed up and pounced on him. She tried to land on his back again, before stopping and sitting down. She had grown tired of playfighting. 'Come on, let's go out into the forest!' She mewed excitedly. [/sup][/blockquote]

puppetflame He looked at her and smiled. "Okay! Sure! But what are we gonna do out there?" he asked, trotting up to her. He licked her across the cheek.
"How about we go hunting? The clan could use some fresh-kill," he said, stretching out his front paws.

Mahoganyflight Mahoganyflight grinned at her companion. 'Okay, let's go hunting!' She mewed happily. Then she stopped. There was a noise coming from outside the camp. She stepped forward and went to look at what the sound was. Then she stopped. There were about a hundred birds flying through the trees. The birds were leaving! It must be getting colder. She thought to herself. She looked back at Puppetflame, then bolted forward, realizing that this might be the last good hunt before the new season. [/sup][/blockquote]

puppetflame He smiled and jolted after his mate, running by her. "Those were a lot of birds!" he smiled, then he stopped abruptly and sniffed the air. "Shh," he whispered and his ear flicked toward a dying blueberry bush. He stepped forward but an inch and crouched low. There was a rustling and a little head peeked out from behind on of the green leaves.
Puppetflame shot forward, covering the mouse with his paws and giving it a swift bite, killing it. He picked it up between his teeth and padded back over to Mahoganyflight. He dropped the mouse. "Well, that's probably one of the last well-fed mice," Puppetflame said. [/blockquote]
