FADEDMEMORY]] With the clan long gone behind her, and the thoughts and images of Stormstar's falling body etched into her mind, she trudged through the deep snow, eyes moving around as she took in her surroundings. Taking a breath, she stopped, glancing back. Rapidly, she had come from being deputy to leader in a matter of minutes. Shaking her head, the long-haired she-cat turned her head back in the direction she was headed.
The Moonshard.
She had only come to the stone a few times, having gone once after her accident as an apprentice, and another time when she accompanied Dragonflydance and Emeraldpaw. Her heart clenched as she thought of the white she-cat that had left her still young apprentice. Perhaps she would see the former medicine cat here? Fadedmemory shook the thought away as she continued on, reaching the cave that would bring her to speak with her deceased brethren. Taking a breath, the she-cat slid inside the caves, walking down the dark path and coming upon the stone. It glittered slightly as the moon flickered in through the holes on the roof. As she remembered, the she-cat laid down beside the stone, pressing her nose to the cool piece. Almost immediately her eyes were snapped closed and she drifted into darkness.

grasswhistle && oleandergaze && astralhaze Laughter coursed through the hollow room as the sound of paws thumping accompanied Fadedmemory's own. A ghostly brown and gray shape dashed by her, tumbling around playfully. Grasswhistle lifted up his head, grinning at the deputy with a playful mew. "HI!" The enthusiastic young tom got to his paws and looked at her. "You're getting your nine lives, right?"
A massive tomcat appeared alongside Grasswhistle, then a beautiful she-cat on his left. "Of course she is, little one. Didn't you see Stormstar come in?" Astralhaze chuckled, her voice as soft as a dove's feather. The silver she-cat looked up at Fadedmemory with a knowing nod. Oleandergaze laughed heartily, showing no signs of the sickness that had killed him.
"Um...let's see if I can remember what I'm supposed to say," Grasswhistle said sheepishly. The wiry tom thought for a moment and then looked up brightly. "Um...I ask 'Fadedmemory, are you ready for your nine lives' and you say 'yes' so then I say...OH RIGHT." He laughed out loud. "I give you the life of perserverance, so that you may have infinite energy when foes test your will." The one who had died driving out Quetzal smiled.
Oleandergaze smiled as Grasswhiste touched Fadedmemory's nose to give her a life. He began his life-giving at that point. "I give you the life of compassion, so that you may care for everyone in your Clan and even those beyond your boundaries." He turned to Astralhaze, who nodded and stepped forward.
"I give you the life of luck." She winked. "We know you'll need it when you're making decisions. Go on your instincts and heart and you should be fine. Take chances." The silvery she-cat chuckled and licked Fadedmemory's shoulder.

dragonflydance From behind the three StarClanners came a fourth. Dragonflydance walked around Astralhaze, Oleandergaze and Grasswhistle, all three of which she had battled to save in her lifetime. But she now shared the sky with them. The slim snow-coloured she-cat smiled softly at Fadedmemory. She would make a brilliant leader. And, in time, Emeraldpaw would rise up to be one of the best medicine cat's in the Black River Forest. The former medicine cat's crystal blue eyes darkened with guilt for a moment. Selfishly, she had left her apprentice alone - whether her death had been her fault or not. Dragonflydance padded towards Fadedmemory as Astralhaze finished giving the silvery she-cat her third life. Dragonflydance met the deputy's eyes levelly, her pretty face serene.
Touching her soft pink nose to Fadedmemory's, Dragonflydance spoke the words that were needed. "With this life, I give you loyalty," she mewed in her almost musical, but sincere tones. "Not just to your clan, but to your heart, as well. Trust what you think to be right." Dragonflydance turned to pad back to the others, but then faltered. "Look after her, won't you?" she pleaded with Fadedmemory, her face tortured. Of course she meant Emeraldpaw, but Kitewhistle flitted across her mind as she spoke. She turned and joined the others, pushing thoughts of the kit she should never had have to the back of her mind.

FADEDMEMORY]] Her tail flicked back and forth as she padded through darkness. It wasn't until she heard pawsteps behind her did the clearing she was in clear, showing the cats of a deceased Clan. Some she did remember, some she didn't. The she-cat shook her head, trying to think before she heard the cheerful voice behind her. She turned sharply, eyes widening as she took in the sight of the young tom. "Grasswhistle...." Fadedmemory murmured, pulling back as the life he gave her coursed through her body. When her eyes opened again, the caught sight of Astralhaze, and Oleandergaze. The male was so young when he died, with kits. The deputy physically winced befoe her eyes were snapped shut and the next two lives were given to her.
When her eyes opened again, she gasped quietly. Dragonflydance had been one of the only cats she had confided in. Fadedmemory blinked back tears as she recieved the medicine cat's life, smiling softly at her as she pulled away. "I will. You won't have to worry about that" She mewed, softly, shivering as the life went through her.

howlingnight
Padding through the starry skies was a dark tom, his eyes shining brightly. There was a gentle smile playing on his lips as he descended down towards Fadedmemory. There was pride in his gaze and in his heart, pride that his daughter should grow up to be such a fine and noble warrior and eventually leader. He purred slightly, though he said nothing other than what the ceremony needed. He looked at his daughter with fire coursing through him. He wasn't just proud of her, but of hismelf. He was to be allowed to give her this life. So the large tom moved closer to her, bright eyes showing her all of the love that could not be expressed in words. He pressed his nose against hers gently, feeling the fire spread from her to him. Images of cats, young and old, good and evil played through him and he felt them going towards her.
"With this life, I give you fairness," he murmured. He knew she would expect it to be a gentle life, but it wasn't. His limbs tingled just from giving it to her, but the tom felt no pain except for the one in his heart. She didn't know him, did she? "Use it to judge your Clanmates wisely and to understand their actions without bias," he said softly, before stepping back. Howlingnight met her eyes once more. "I'm your father... And I'm so, so proud of you."[/blockquote]

scissorteeth The next cat to appear from the black starry skies was a large russet colored cat, with raggedy orange fur and gleaming yellow eyes. He contrasted with the darkness of night and more so looked like a star himself now that he glimmered and shone just like a real star. His eyes were filled with grief at the thought of the death of a good friend but he reminded himself of the new leader, Fadedmemory. It will be nice to see her again, he decided silently, and gracefully landed in the hollow as Howlingnight finished up his life granting speech. He gazed at her for a moment, his weary eyes washing over her. They'd been best friends, and he'd missed her greatly. Howlingnight stepped back with the rest of the cats and now it was Scissorteeth's turn.
His face was wise and gracious and he slowly padded toward her, and then he gracefully touched his own nose to hers. "Fadedmemory, with this life, I give you courage, so that you may use to to be brave and strong in the time of doubt and for your Clan," he meowed quietly, feeling this life pass through him and to Fadedmemory. He looked up at her and smiled as though to wish her good luck with her new position before gracefully floating back to his place with the group.
