amaranthkitWas anyone else besides her bored?
The stubby-legged she-cat sat down irritably by the nursery, eager to be away from that place and get started with her training as an apprentice so that she could serve StarClan appropriately. The clumsy femme had gone bumbling around, now at an age where she could take care of herself independently from her mother's watch. She was 5 and a half moons, almost an apprentice.
Amaranthkit stretched her white and brown tabby frame, shaking herself when she collected her thoughts. Grunting a bit, she looked around, wondering who was around to talk or play.

Fablepaw She skittered back into camp, choking back the sob that was threatening to make its way out of her throat. Her eyes swam with unshed tears but she would not cry for him. If Tacitpaw didn't want her, was repulsed by the very idea of her, then she would be damned before she let him see he had got to her. Fablepaw shook her dainty head fiercely, stpping short when she saw Amaranthkit. The kit had always interested her, she, like her, had always been different from the bumbling, chattering other kits. They seemed older than their true age. "Hello Amaranthkit. How are you?" she asked the femme quietly, sitting down with a sigh. [/sub]

amaranthkitThe she-cat jumped and turned around, smiling a bit when she saw Fablepaw. "Hey!" The white and brown tabby dipped her head to the apprentice, not knowing that Fablepaw's mother had hated Amaranthkit's father. She didn't know what her father had done so she revered him as a fallen warrior of the Clan, mourning his death for a short period because she knew he had died fighting.
She noticed the apprentice's broken expression. "What's going on? You okay?" She tilted her head, blinking sharp eyes.

Fablepaw The spotted female gave a small smile at Amaranthkit's cheerful hello. The kit was quietly spoken, well, quiet compared to the other kits, just as she was and this made her feel comfortable around the other she-cat. Fablepaw winced at Amaranthkit's question, trying to mask the hurt in her eyes. She didn't really know if the kit would understand what was wrong with her. She hardly understood it herself. I mean, why was she upset about Tacitpaw? Its not like they were close or anything, they had only really just got to know each other this very day. But even just remembering his shudder sent such a sharp pain through her it made her wince. Glancing up, embarrassed at her long pause, she met Amaranthkit's eyes. "Oh, it's nothing really. Me and Tacitpaw fell out" she said quietly, stiffening as she said his name. [/sub]

toxickit A brown and white patched shape trotted out of the nursery. Toxickit's head was high as he stared at the sky, his green eyes wide. The kitten peered from side to side, wondering if anybody was up. There weren't that many kits left in the nursery these days. Cherrysmoke's litter, Crocuspool's litter and Snowflake's litter were all apprentices. There was Petalrain's litter, but other than that... Toxickit took to drawing shapes in the slush with his small forepaws. He looked up as he heard a voice. His face lit up as he recognized his own sister Amaranthkit and the dappled pelt of Fablepaw, one of Crocuspool's kits. Toxickit skipped towards them, unaware of the girly talk they were heaving. Toxickit skipped around the two girls. "Hey! What're you doing?"

amaranthkitShe frowned but decided not to push the subject any further. Exhaling heavily, Amaranthkit simply nodded. "I hope you recover soon. Perhaps it's just him being moody." She smiled encouragingly.
Her attention was dragged away by her brother, Toxickit. "Oh you, what are you doing here?" She smiled at him and swatted playfully at his ear. "This is girl talk, not girl talk with Toxickit. You're not the ladies' man Dad was." She shook her head.
"Though, maybe you could tell us why guys are such boneheads sometimes." Amaranthkit chortled.

burnkit ---------------------------- Ears flicked, as Burnkit sat not far from the little group, only half-listening. Her tail swiped along the ground beside her, her oddly colored blue eyes staring at the ground. Her black ear seemed to tilt away from the group, trying to determine how far off her father was, but to no avail. Sighing, the white and black kit pushed herself up, heading over to the other cats. "There isn't really a reason for why guys are boneheads all the time, I believe, Amaranthkit. They just... /are/." Her eyes crossed slightly, and she made the weirdest face she could muster. "I"m not going to worry about guys until I am older. I want to be able to get past my apprentice moons without thinking about a guy" She nodded her hello to Fablepaw and Toxickit, her small tail flicking behind her as she plopped her rear onto the ground.

toxickit The small patched tom pricked up his ears, having still not quite learnt the concept of a 'private' conversation. "Who's moody?" he asked with interest, his tail sticking right up. "And who need's to recover?" His green eyes were filled with curiousity as he looked from his sister to Fablepaw. He giggled as Amaranthkit swatted at his ear, lifting a paw to bat at her back, but at the mention of his father he froze. He hated any mention of Timbersmoke. It just brought everything back. The brown and white kitten lifted his head to look at Amaranthkit again as she spoke, but his face fell. "I'm not a bonehead, Amaranthkit!" he mewed unhappily. Toxickit watched as Burnkit approached, still trying to work out what he had done to deserve such a name. He frowned as Burnkit agreed with the other she-cat's. "Don't mind me," he mewed with extreme indignation. He turned around to look for somebody else to talk to - a tom, preferably.
