While you may not think she's as pretty as her name, I think Egretfeathers is quite the beautiful cat. She is mostly white with a gray head, flanks, and tail. No, not the silky sleek white fur you see on kittypets. She's a short-haired cat but she's got a lot of hairs that stick out as if she's about to be hit by lightning. She's not big but she's certainly not small. She can get pretty intimidating if she wanted to be.

Egretfeathers starts out from a little pink nose set in a white blaze. That part on her face is the only thing white about her head. Like a medieval helmet, gray in the pattern of the tabbies clutches her head and cheeks. Her ears stick out at attention, tipped in a light-gray. Gliding down her back is a magnificent spine that ends in a thick gray-black tail. Wait a minute! We just skipped a lot of important stuff. Don't worry. We're going back to that.

Reversing our way back up, we meet Egretfeathers' loins, where she's got some gray as well. This snakes up her back like tribal tattoos but it's not the majority of her. All of her paws end in white fur, and these paws are tipped in killer claws that won't hesitate to lash out in self-defense.

The prettiest thing about Egretfeathers' body is not her gentle frame, her graceful gait, or her long whiskers. In fact, the prettiest things are her eyes, which are solid emerald hue, like the forest in springtime. Don't make her mad. They turn an acid-green color then.

Egrefeathers is a loyal cat. She loves her Clan very much and will do her best to never let it fall apart. She finds herself disgusted when other cats mention Cross-Clan relationships and things of that nature, believing that every traitor should just be cast out.

She is the one who people are most likely to turn to when they need help and will come through every time. This is because she is sensitive to others and empathizes with them, particularly if someone has suffered an injustice; she reacts quickly with the same feeling as though she had been personally offended. Her friends know that they can rely upon Egretfeathers to keep a promise or remain cool in a crisis. However, she can be somewhat selfish, terribly stubborn, and eccentric. She finds fault with many things and is noted for their sharp tongues. Despite this, she is generally likeable and nice, as well as being smart.

Egretfeathers is honest, intelligent and straightforward. She will take on any responsibility that is given to her and you can be sure that she will do her job well. She tends to be difficult, upset and shocked more than her siblings. Egretfeathers does not tolerate weakness. She will work to push the weakness or the whole cat with weakness out of her life if the behavior continues.

Fogrunner and Hibiscusrain had been friends since they were born. Their mothers were best friends and gave birth to their kits at the same time so they knew each other their entire lives. Hibiscusrain was the one who told Fogrunner she loved him a few moons after their warriors ceremony. The pretty she-cat soon became pregnant with his kits, and they were very happy, more so when Egretkit, Jaykit, Kexkit, and Zebrakit were born. Egretkit was white and gray; Jaykit was a brown/black tabby; Kexkit was a tortoiseshell; and Zebrakit was white and black.

They grew up in the nursery as a happy family. Once they became apprentices, Hibiscusrain returned to her normal duties. She was the one who mentored her beautiful daughter, Egretpaw. The two were a match made in heaven and could hardly be any more alike. Jaypaw, however, didn't like all the attention Egretpaw was getting from their mother; when he brought this to his mother's attention, she dismissed him completely with a few choice words. Furious, Jaypaw left CloudClan in favor of MoonClan. However, life went on for Egretpaw. Hibiscusrain mourned the loss of her only son, blaming herself for making him leave. She started rounding on Egretpaw during training, often getting angry at her daughter because "she too made Jaypaw leave". Zebrapaw and Kexpaw tried to tell their mother that their brother was just being a selfish, jealous twit but Hibscusrain wouldn't listen. She drove herself crazy, which led to her suicide on the eve of the three girls' ceremonies.

Egretpaw became Egretfeathers, while Kexpaw and Zebrapaw became Kexthorn and Zebraleap. The three girls now had to support their father, who was grieving heavily over Hibiscusrain's death. They persuaded him to find another mate, which he later found in Zebraleap's old mentor Orangeblossom. Egretfeathers did not like her new stepmother that much and she sort of drifted away from the family. This was around the time when she met Redsand, a tom who took her breath away. She sort of rushed into the relationship with him, a mistake she found out later, and discovered that she was to bear his kits. Redsand denied fatherhood of them, which enraged Egretfeathers, an emotion no longer foreign to her as she also found out Orangeblossom was bearing her father's kits. They were in the nursery together and ended up giving birth at the same time her stepmother did. However, when Orangeblossom's three kits (Sevenkit, Darkkit, and Peacekit) were born alive, Egretfeathers' two sons were stillborn.
