hysteria The smell of cats was getting closer. And closer. Every day that she walked, it got closer. Stronger. More appealing. She wanted to find them. She wanted to join them. Loneliness throbbed in her chest. Hysteria exhaled in sorrow, her ears flattening to her skull. Ever since... Ever since she had killed Grace, and Wisteria had left her, she'd been all by herself. She just wanted some company. She hadn't lost control for a while. Only because I haven't let you... Hysteria hissed angrily at the voice in her head. "Shut up, you mousehead! Just leave me alone, okay? Get out of my head!" Hysteria stamped her paws angrily in the shallows of the stream. As the creature within her shoved forward images of Grace just before Hysteria killed her, she swallowed guiltily. "I didn't kill her, you did," she snapped to herself. "So just shut up, okay?" Trying not to think of her sister, the innocent cat she had murdered, she carried on her way.

calanthe. The well-built female had been passing through, as she usually did, when she saw Hysteria. Two things were odd about the little she-cat. First, she was much, much too young to be out by herself. Calanthe frowned. And second, she was talking to herself.
Calanthe wouldn't have found this weird, had it been an older cat. She'd heard plenty of stories of loners having gone crazy and talking to themselves when no one else was around. She sometimes muttered to herself, to keep her voice strong while the rest of her body weakened. But a cat this young? Never. The kitten had stopped walking for a moment and hissed something to herself, sounding angry. And it wasn't just the regular mutterings she usually heard from cats, like, I should have gotten that mouse! or I can't beleive I did that!. No. She sounded genuinely angry. Curious, Calanthe stepped out into the path of the she-kit, a well-practiced, motherly smile on her face.
"Hello, little one," she meowed, eyeing the kit's troubled expression. "What's your name? You're quite young to be on your own. Are your parents near? A relative, maybe?" her words were soft, her tone gentle, just as she'd been taught to treat kits. [/blockquote]

thanks for makin' me FIGHTER ! cyanide !!
Cyanide had wandered off by herself today, as she usually did, to escape her protective brother for a little while. Usually, those short periods of freedom ended in disaster, as Cyanide often met another cat, provoked them into a spar, and it was Hoatzin who had to pull her away before her clawed her opponent's face off, or vice virsa. But maybe today she would not fight. Maybe today she would meet somebody, and they would make pleasant chit-chat over a mouse or a vole.
Oh please!, She thought as a devilish grin spread across her face. Those fights are what I live for!
With was could almost be called a spring in her step, she made her way towards Acid Stream, navigating by the dull roar of the pounding water that got louder and louder the closer she got. Cutting through the noise were feminine voices, to Cyanide's surprise. Her eyes had an unnaturally pleasureful gleam in it. If she could have, she would have rubbed her paws together, as villians with evil plans do.
She trotted towards the voices, stopping in the undergrowth a few tail-lengths away. Apparently, there was a young kitten and an older she-cat. The older one was apparently trying to help the youngster. Cyanide furrowed her brow, but said nothing as she continued to observe.[/blockquote]

hysteria Hysteria blinked her hazel eyes as she heard a faint rustling in the bushes. It's probably Wisteria, come to get revenge... Hysteria snarled angrily, the thing within her snatching up the reigns of her body and controlling them. She stopped snarling abruptly as a she-cat with a kindly look on her face stepped from the bushes, managing to regain control before she pounced. "I... I'm Hysteria," she mewed, scuffing her paws in the dust. She had long ago dropped the name Fern, her guilt and self-hatred causing her to change her name. Wisteria had inspired her new name, due to the last words she had ever said to her. "Stupid cat. Thinks she knows it all..." Hysteria blinked, dazed, then looked at Calanthe again. "My mumma left me because my sister died," she explained, her voice growing tearful. She knew Wisteria was not her real mother, but she was all she had ever known. "I killed her... No I didn't! Shut up!" Hysteria smiled sheepishly at Calanthe, knowing the loner would leave now. This always happened. She just wasn't supposed to have friends, it seemed. Hysteria froze as she caught another scent, fear trickling through her.

calanthe.Calanthe's brown furrowed. Stupid cat? Was she honestly so dimwitted as to call a cat so much bigger than her stupid? "Excuse m--" she began, but the kitten cut her off again, answering her question this time. She sympathize with Hysteria - a mother leaving was not an easy thing, and although it cut deep to think about her kittens in SerenityClan, she knew that this was how things were meant to be. The she-cat looked troubled, lost, and for a moment Calanthe thought about suggesting that they find a good hunting spot where she could leave the little kit in peace.
But her next words came out too fast, too menacingly, for Calanthe to ask her. Hysteria really was troubled. She'd never seen anything like this, and she was beginning to loose her patience. She hadn't even said anything, and she was being told to shut up... by a kit, no less. But watching Hysteria's face, she could tell that maybe that's not how she meant it. Maybe it had slipped out? Maybe... was she talking to herself again? "Well, I hardly doubt a young thing like you could do anything like that," she meowed, her voice comforting although it came out a little more stern than she had meant it to. [/blockquote]

Cyanide's eyebrows creased as the she-kit spoke: first in a low, normal tone, then in a creepy voice that should never had been spurted by an innocent, fluffy thing. Cyanide let out a small hiss. She must be crazy. Look at the mixed emotions on her face. Look at the way she snaps at herself, as if she said something she wasn't supposed to. The weird cat unnerved the rogue. She unsheathed her claws, and sunk them into the dirt.
Then, she noticed the kit freeze while the older cat began to sort-of scold her. She had been scented. She hissed in frustration at her stupidness. It was time to reveal herself.
Cyanide straightened up and stepped out into the open. She looked up at the watercolored sun, before turned her eyes onto the youngster. She tilted her head, examining her for a full minute before murmuring a "Why, hello there."[/blockquote]

hysteria Hysteria shrank back as Calanthe's expression turned sort of frosty. She knew she'd creep out the older she-cat. It wasn't fair. Life isn't fair. Hysteria bared her teeth. "Shut up, you," she spat, but this time her eyes were not fixed on Calanthe. She looked up at the rogue she-cat, her hazel eyes round as the full moon. "I didn't kill her, she... I..." she stuttered, not sure how to explain it. Hysteria looked at her paws, embarrased. The kitten jumped as another cat appeared. The thing within her uncurled, causing her fur to bristle, her spine to arch and her teeth to bear. An almost unearthly hiss ripped from between her teeth. As the new rogue, Cyanide, spoke, Hysteria relaxed. Her stance slumped, her mouth melted back into an uneasy line, and the hiss died away. It was as if she didn't even know she had moved. "Hello," her voice was small and nervous. Another cat, come to stare at you. Point and stare. Point and stare. You freak. "Shut up!" these words were screeched, and tears gleamed like moonshine in her earthy eyes.

Cyanide narrowed her pale yellow eyes as the kitten burst out, yelling 'Shut up!' to no one in particular. She was crazy. Psycho. Loco. Out of her mind. The she-kit's antics made her want to yowl. Scream. Reach out and claw at something. Anything. But she controlled herself. She licked a paw and swiped it over her ear calmly, as if Hysteria hadn't yelled at all.
She turned her eyes back to Hysteria, ignoring the older loner. "You didn't kill her, hmm? Who are you talking about?," she asked, unable to hide her curiousity. If she, in fact, did kill someone, no wonder she's acting so freakish.

calanthe. Calanthe narrowed her eyes at Cyanide, but nodded slightly as she greeted both of them. Then her attention was back on Hysteria. She was still telling something - herself? - to shut up, and Calanthe found it unnerving. But there seemed to be an innocence in her, and is she tried to explain herself, Calanthe had wanted to urge her on. But she hissed at Cyanide, and then settled again. Multiple personalities? Calanthe considered this for a minute. This she-kit was dangerous to those of her own age, but she was no harm to herself or this new rogue.
"Don't act like that," she chided the young cat, but her voice was gentle now. "Can you hunt for yourself? How long ago did all this happen?" [/blockquote]

hysteria The little ginger tabby's sides heaved as she faced Cyanide and Calanthe. She brushed away the tears with snowy forepaws. Cyanide's question made her sniffle a bit. "My sister," she whimpered. "We were playing, see, and then..." She trailed off. She didn't know exactly what had happened. But there had been a scream, and blood, and anger. And whispers in her head. And afterward, her claws had been unsheathed and scarlet red. But so what! It wasn't her that killed her sister... Hysteria blinked as Calanthe spoke again. "I... Sort of," she mewed untruthfully. She had been surviving on crow food for the past moon or so. It made her sick, but at least she didn't die of hunger. "It was about a moon ago," she mewed quietly, staring down at her paws.

calanthe.Poor thing. Small, alone, confused... Calanthe's motherly side took over as she stroked between Hysteria's ears with her tail-tip, flattening down a patch of fur that had been sticking up. "Well, dear, I'm not much of a hunter myself. But I do know where we can get you a nice juicy mouse," she meowed gently, taking no notice of Cyanide as she smiled down at the kitten. Hysteria was odd and reclusive and very, very different from all the other cats she had met before, but she was still a kit, and Calanthe knew how to talk to kits. Lowering herself so that her face was level with her's, she flattened her tail to the ground and made herself look less threatening, as she'd taught herself when dealing with the SerenityClan kits who had all seemed to be afraid of her until she made herself look the same size as them.
"So, what do you say?" she asked in a tenor voice. "You can tell me the whole story later, if you want, but for now it might be best if you got something to eat, now wouldn't it?"
ooc: Maybe Calanthe could take care of Hysteria for a little bit and tell her about the Clans? [/blockquote]
