Dewstep Dewstep sighed quietly as the two kittens spoke again, refusing to let herself cry. It would just make everything worse for Rhymekit and Mirrorkit and she wasn't prepared to do that. Taking a deep breath, the queen prepared to speak again. "I'm not your mother girls, so I'm not going to tell you what to do. But she will be so proud when she see's you up their getting your mentors that it will ease some of her pain, just for a little while. She knows how proud your daddy would have been and it will help her, and I think it will help all of you guys as well, having a new chapter in your life. But I can't make you come outside, so it's your decision" she said to them both quietly, before heading back outside. The brown and white fae sat down, glancing up as she heard the voice of Dapplecharm beside her. "Halfgaze, Skunkstripe and Shadowhawk have been made warriors" she told the other female quietly, with a ghost of a smile appearing on her lips. [/sub]

rhymekit The small kitten raised her head as Dewstep spoke to her. Her eyes felt weird, and her nose all stuffy. She rubbed at her eyes and snuffled to herself for a minute. She didn't want to listen to what the queen was saying, but after the words left her mouth, they seemed to implant themselves in Rhymekit's brain. The grey and white tabby felt more tears leak from her kiwi eyes as she thought of her father. But he wouldn't want to look down and find her like this, would he? All soggy and crying and upset? He'd want her to be a happy apprentice. But she didn't want to be happy. Rhymekit swayed, confused. In the end, she decided to try, for her father. The kit snorted valiantly, then stomped from the nursery. The light was glaringly bright to Rhymekit, as she had not been out of the nursery since Barrenclaw's death. The young cat dithered outside the nursery, not wanting to go any further.

stormstar.

Stormstar looked over the cheering and chanting crowd, giving a faint wheeze. He could feel his legs weakening now, like he was going to fall right over. He waved his tail for silence. "Now would-" He suddenly felt his lungs surrender to a terrible fit of coughing. The elderly tom gasped for air. "Oh, StarClan..." he murmured to himself. Would today be the day? "Well, as I was saying...
"Would Carnationkit, Gannetkit, Jadekit, Septemberkit, Pixiekit, Mirrorkit, Rhymekit, and Spadekit please come forward?
"Carnationkit, from this day forth, until you have earned your warrior name, you will be known as Carnationpaw. Swampfox, you are a strong and wise warrior, and you shall mentor Carnationpaw.
"Gannetkit, from this day forth, until you have earned your warrior name, you will be known as Gannetpaw. Cherrystem, though you are young, I think you will be a fine mentor for this apprentice.
"Jadekit, from this day forth, until you have earned your warrior name, you will be known as Jadepaw. Frostfoot, you are also a bit young, but I trust you to pass down all of your skills to Jadepaw.
"Septemberkit, from this day forth, until you have earned your warrior name, you will be known as Septemberpaw. Ancientmagic, You are a skilled and loyal warrior, and I expect you to pass down everything you know the this apprentice.
"Pixiekit, from this day forth, until you have earned your warrior name, you will be known as Pixiepaw. Dapplecharm, you are a young but trustworthy warrior, and I am sure you will do well as a mentor to this apprentice.
"Mirrorkit, from this day forth, until you have earned your warrior name, you will be known as Mirrorpaw. Palegust, you are a loyal and intelligent warrior, and I know you will succeed in mentoring Mirrorpaw.
"Rhymekit, from this day forth, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Rhymepaw. Treebranch, you are a warrior of cunning and strength, and I know you will pass down all of your skills to this apprentice.
"Spadekit, from this day forth, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Spadepaw. Spottednova, you are somewhat young but a very able warrior, and I know that you will be a great mentor to Spadepaw."
He was terribly out of breath. It was only moments until another hacking fit erupted from his hoarse throat. "The Clan meeting is adjourned," he rasped. Stormstar could feel his limbs wobbling beneath the weight of his body. This was too much...
// I didn't put Oppositekit in because I wasn't sure if he was played anymore. After all, Doujka doesn't come on too often...[/blockquote]

OOC Sharkpaw needs a mentor, can you edit him in? ^^ [/blockquote] gannetkit
Like a little kit, Gannetkit bounded forwards. He heard Swampfox behind him vaguely, asking him if he was ready to become an apprentice. The princely tom had nodded haoppily, padding forwards like a tumbling ball of fluff. Then he realized how immature he looked and quickly composed himself. Preening his errant fur, Gannetkit sat tall and proud as Stormstar gave him a mentor. Cherrystem? He wondered. Who was she? How come he didn't get some famous warrior like Swampfox or something. Poutning slightly, the regal tom went over to brusquely find his mentor. "Cherrystem?" he asked, voice haughty. He wasn't going to listen to anyone who couldn't even find their own apprentice, or couldn't care less. Maybe he could get some other warrior to teach him as well. Then he would have two mentors. The tom cheered up at the prospect.gannetpaw [/blockquote]

cherrystem Don't be ashamed of your faith The young warrior sat up slightly, blinking her eyes free of snow, and looked up. Stormstar had given her an apprentice. Gannetpaw? she thought, recognizing the name. Gannetpaw was the one in Dewstep's litter that acted like royalty. She stood, arched her back in a comfortable stretch, and spotted the regal tom almost at once. She heard him call her name and she smiled slightly. Cherrystem moved her way over to Gannetpaw, fully awake now. She looked at the new apprentice, who was almost as tall as her. Wow, I'm short, she thought to herself vaguely as she touched noses with Gannetpaw. "So, how's it like being an apprentice so far? Even though you just became one, like, ten seconds ago," she laughed oh-so-slightly at her little joke before noticing her calico fur was sticking up. She smoothed it down with her sand-paper tongue, she didn't want to look like a kit in front of her new apprentice.[/blockquote] mirrorkit & otterspirit Well, it must be difficult being so gorgeous Emeralds hold no hope The she-kit felt her sister move beside her. Rhymekit was going to leave the nursery. Dewstep spoke words of wisdom and as Mirrorkit got up she heard her name being called in Stormstar's hoarse tone. She made her way out of the milk-scented den as the leader called for her new mentor. The frosty, dull sunlight was bright compared to the dark shadows of the nursery - which she had not left since the day before.
The newly named Mirrorpaw sought out her mother first before going to her mentor, Palegust. "Mama," she called weakly, recognizing the gray pelt of her parent. She snuggled closely to Otterspirit and whispered, "I'm an apprentice now, Mama." The solemn queen looked down at her daughter as she moved up against her and whispered something about her being an apprentice now. "Yeah, baby, but that mean I'm not a queen anymore. I have to go back to the warrior's den," she mewed quietly, remembering her time sleeping next to Barrenclaw she spent in there. She bit back tears. This was a happy time. She looked over at Spadepaw and smiled - then she smiled at the rest of her grown-up litter. Today was a happy day.[/blockquote]

rhymepaw Rhymekit padded forward, dragging her paws and keeping her eyes and head down. This behaviour was most unlike the usually bubbly and irrespressable she-cat. The grey and white tabby lifted her head slightly to look at the sickly Stormstar, her kiwi eyes filled with sorrow once again. She tried to tell herself that her father was watching, but still she had to fight back tears. Rhymekit turned as she was granted her new, apprentice. She spotted the lean, sleek brown form of Treebranch, and new tears blossomed. Why did she have to train with her father's brother? That just made it worse. Rhymepaw trailed over to her uncle and touched noses with him without a greeting. he young she-cat then returned to her mother and leant against her, not wanting to be the centre of attention anymore.

Palegust
Palegust sat up from where he had been sitting a moment ago. His eyes gleamed with happiness as he trotted over to recieve his apprentice. He watched the young Mirrorpaw go over to her mother and realized with a stab of grief that the young apprentice grieving. He sat down and waited patiently for Mirrorpaw to come to him. He looked around to find his brother. He couldn't see him anywhere, so he put his head back down. I haven't talked toMountainwind in a lonng time. He thought sadly as he shuffled his paws and waited for his apprentice.[/sup][/blockquote]

pixiepaw --
When Stormstar called her name, her face suddenly lit up. She padded forward, feeling a sudden burst of happiness. "Finally!" She closed her eyes when he spoke her ceremony. One moment she was a kit, the next, an apprentice. She squinted up at the sickly leader when he said 'Dapplecharm'. Dapplecharm? Who was this warrior? Pixiepaw had never really talked to any of the warriors, so this Dapplecharm was a definite stranger to her.
She wandered around the clearing, in search of her new mentor. She called out loudly."Dapplecharm? DAPPLECHARM?! Yoohoo?!"

fadedmemory The she-cat smiled faintly as Stormstar announced the mentor assignments, the kits going to meet their new mentors. Her gaze flicked up towards her leader, concern clouding her gaze before she moved towards Swampfox, and beside him, the two identical black kits. A pain shot through the deputy, watching Ravenkit and Timekit beside their father, her gaze drifting away, back towards Stormstar as he wobbled. Worry flashed through Fadedmemory as she bounded onto the Bird's Wing, gently touching her leader with her nose. "Do you need any help, Stormstar?" The deputy questioned, concern in her voice. ancientmagic The warrior looked up, cocking his head as the leader called on him. His wise eyes moved around the kits, wacthing them intently. His scarred pelt reflected his age, his eyes wise like most older warriors. His mind drifted towards his childhood as he weaved through the crowd, coming to a stop in front of Septemberpaw. No. He wouldn't make hers hell like his uncle had made his. "Hello, Septemberpaw. When would you like to start training" Ancientmagic asked, smiling softly. jadepaw Stepping up beside her brother, Jadekit's tail flicked back and forth. Her eyes shimmered slightly as she glanced towards her siblings, then towards the elderly leader. She cocked her head to the side as she watched him for a moment, then glanced around. It was then that Stormstar called her name, then announced her mentor. Frostfoot? She glanced around, not knowing who the she-cat was, and expecting the cat to come to her.

__________L O O N K I T [settle the score with honor and blood]So...she had not been put up as an apprentice. Loonkit sighed and shrugged. "Very well then," the black and white she-cat said softly. She got up, congratulated her siblings wearily, and headed back over to her foster mother Dewstep. "Mother, I'm heading back to the nursery... I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed." While not as pompous as the newly-named Gannetpaw, her tone was certainly as formal as her older brother sometimes.swampfoxHe looked down at Timekit and Ravenkit, smiling softly. "One day, you two will be up there, getting your apprenticeship names," the large dark-gray tom said. He stroked his tail across his "daughter's" back and looked up only to see Fadedmemory look away and talk to Stormstar. The green-eyed tom sighed and shook his head. "I'll talk to her later..."

cootkit && timekit Cootkit blinked, watching as Otterspirit and Dewstep's litters were made apprentices. He couldn't help feeling jealous, even though he knew the age rules. The little tabby sighed, accepting that he'd have to wait three or so more moons before he became Cootpaw. The kitten noticed Loonkit's expression - though it seemed he was the only one. She looked really upset. Cootkit's fairly simple mind did not pick out the disappointment, but he caught the jist of her emotions. Cootkit watched her stiffly excuse herself, his pondweed-green eyes anxious. He wanted to follow, but he was scared she would yell at him, like most others. But... She'd never yelled at him before... Cootkit dithered for a moment, then tottered hesitantly after Loonkit. He half-entered the nursery, wringing his forepaws. "Uhh, um... Loonkit? Are you.. Er... Are you okay?"
Timekit blinked up at her father, squinting a little. She couldn't imagine ever being the same size as him. Her pastel blue eyes widened a little at the thought. She smiled as he mrntioned becoming an apprentice, though. Rhymepaw and Pixiepaw weren't that much bigger than her. Timekit leant against her father's leg, his fur soft on her's. "Why d'you have to speak to her?" she asked, her voice innocently curious.

Dewstep The tiny queen realised, both with a sense of disappointment and relief, that Loonkit had not been made an apprentice. This would mean she could stay in the nursery. Thank StarClan. The very idea of her being a warrior again sent shivers down Dewstep's spine. She would be terrified. But, there had been talk of her getting Swampfox's orphaned kits to nurse. This would make her very happy, as she loved mothering all kits, not just her own. Her grey eyes blinked and focused on Loonkit, licking her daughter gently between the ears. "Okay honey" she said to her kitten, before turning her worried gaze back to Stormstar. Carnationpaw The dainty female skipped forwards to Swampfox, grinning up at the large tom. He had always been good with the kits and she hoped he would like mentoring her. "Hey Swampfox! When we gonna train?!" she asked him cheerily, grinning from ear to ear. She very suddenly noticed Loonkit excusing herself rather stiffly, and her smile faltered. "How come Loonkit didn't get made an apprentice?" she asked her new mentor, not understanding the age difference between her and Loonkit. She had always just been her sister. [/sub]

__________L O O N K I T [settle the score with honor and blood]She smiled gently at her mother and trotted to her bed, flopping down and curling into a ball. About to go to sleep when she heard a voice, the pretty eyes of the she-kit poked up and blinked. "Oh...hey, Cootkit," Loonkit said softly. She sighed and rested her head on the edge of her nest. Her ears bent back. "Just kinda lonely. I didn't become an apprentice like my foster siblings...but at least I'll stay in the nursery with you guys..." swampfoxHe blinked and stared down at Timekit. "Stormstar looks like he's on the brink of death, so Fadedmemory might become leader at any moment. She's very stressed out," the massive tom said, gesturing to the haggardly tom. The Russian Blue stood up and touched noses with Timekit as Carnationpaw came up. His light-green eyes twinkled at his apprentice, nodding to her. He was quite experienced in this field so he didn't think that he and Carnationpaw wouldn't get along.
"We'll probably train tonight, get to know borders and stuff." He nodded to the princess-like she-cat. The gray tom turned to look at the retreating back of Carnationpaw's foster sister, Loonkit. "She's probably disappointed that she become an apprentice..." He frowned lightly, knowing that it must be disappointing to watch your brother and sisters become of age but not you. egretfeathersThe pretty white and gray she-cat stood by the nursery, watching from the sidelines. "Carnationpaw, Gannetpaw, Rhymepaw, Pixiepaw, Mirrorpaw, Jadepaw, Septemberpaw, Spadepaw!" the queen called out, smiling at all of them proudly.

. Emeraldpaw . . I wanna be inside your heaven, take me to the place you cry from . Emeraldpaw sat in the entrance of the medicine cats den watching Stormstar with concerned emerald green eyes, she was ready to jump and help the male if something went wrong but she didn't know if she could heal him. Dragonflydance had only taught her so much before she left. The dark tabby she-cat listened to the old leader give a ceremony for her two brothers, she called out their names along with a cat she had only seen a few times. She continued to be silent through the rest of the ceremonies, knowing why she didn't get her name, she still felt a little left disappointed. 'Carnationpaw! Gannetpaw! Jadepaw! Septemberpaw! Pixiepaw! Mirrorpaw! Rhymepaw! Spadepaw!' Emeraldpaw called out the new apprentice's names with her melodic-like voice. The dark brown tabby jumped to her white paws as Stormstar started to wobble beneath his limbs. She could tell he was ready to collapse, the medicine cat apprentice ran over to the leader her wise green eyes bright with her fear. If he fell, she wouldn't know what to do. She didn't know what to do now!

stormstar.

Stormstar began dragging himself toward the edge of the Bird's Wing. "No, no Fadedmemory, I alri-" His leg buckled at the ledge.
And he fell, fell...
A thud and a sickening crack marked the landing. An agonized yowl erupted form his throat. His back and two legs were broken. Voices were whispering in his ear. The time has come, dear Stormstar. We apologize, but the time has come. The time has come, the time has come... He gasped for air. Scarlet blood welled from his flank, pooling around him. The reek...it was suffocating. A spasm shook his body before he went unconscious. We he awoke a minute or two later, his yellow eyes shot wide. The loss of his first of his four remaining lives. "The time has come!" he screeched, sounding like some old blind man who you think is crazy when he tells you some prophecy thing and then it all turns out to be true.
Another convulsion, and then another. The second and third. He couldn't go yet though. When he awoke for the last time, he clutched at his open wound and rasped, "Fadedmemory...Fadedmemory, come...!"
He hoped desperately that he could hold out long enough to speak to her.[/blockquote]

fadedmemory Everything seemed to free as her leader disappeared off the Bird's Wing.
When she heard the sickening crack, it was then that she sprang into action, eyes wide as she stumbled towards the tip of the perch, looking down. Her eyes seemed to bulge from her head before the deputy dropped down beside the tom, landing in a crouch before stumbling forwards. His words pierced her ears, and when they did, the deputy got ahold of her panicking self. She stood straight up, looking around quickly till she found Emerladpaw. "Emeraldpaw! Over here, now!" Fadedmemory called before turning her head towards her leader, watching as his body twitched, then went still. As he called for her, she went, crouching down beside the elderly leader.
"I'm right here, Stormstar." She murmured, pressing her nose to his ear. Her eyes watched the blood as it poured from his body, tail curling around her back leg. Her eyes closed as she held back a tear. This was it. He was going. And when she needed him most. "Don't go yet. Please don't" The deputy whispered, a shiver running through her body.

swampfoxHis jaw dropped as he rushed forward with a roar of "STORMSTAR!" The Russian Blue leapt up from his place and dashed over, skidding past Fadedmemory to touch the brow of the collapsing leader. He had been about to run to BrightClan or MoonClan to see if they could held Emeraldpaw with this emergency but he realized that there was no point. Swampfox sighed and backed off, hanging his head and letting out a mournful yowl. "Long live Stormstar..."

dapplecharm. Dapplecharm leapt to her paws as her name was called, dancing excitedly over to meet Pixiepaw, who was now yowling her name. "Pixiepaw! I'm here!" she mewed, smiling at the new apprentice. She reminded Dapplecharm a little of what she used to be like as an apprentice. She was still smiling as she touched noses with Pixiepaw. "Ooh, this'll be fun! We're gonna go and explore the territory real soon, and then we can do some hunting practice, and I bet you'll enjoy that 'cus it's really cool to bring back your own catch, and then after that we can try some battle training, and even though that's tiring it's still really cool." she said in a rush, tail straight up like a flag and eyesn glittering with excitement. Hey, this was her first apprentice, after all, and she had been thinking up ideas for this day for a long time.
Then, as she waited for her apprentice to respond, she heard Stormstar and the commotion, and her expression became one of worry and sadness. "Oh gosh, this is bad. Stormstar's not been looking well for a while now, I suppose this is his time." she said, for once not speaking super-fast or overly theatrically as she looked over at the fallen leader.

cootkit && timekit The sandy little tabby tom hesitantly padded closer to her. He barely knew her, and yet he regarded her as his closest friend. Probably because he didn't really talk to anyone else besides his siblings. It wasn't like he didn't try. He was just thought of as so pathetic that nobody seemed to want to talk to him. The scrawny kitten shook away the thoughts and sat down beside Loonkit. "I'll be your friend, if you want," he mewed, his words barely audible. Embarrasment flooded him. "I mean, if you want, you don't have to, because you probably have loads of friends." He trailed off, shuffling his forepaws awkwardly.
Timekit nodded idly at her father's words. Her pale pastel blue eyes widened as Stormstar fell. Suddenly, red stuff was all over him. Timekit wailed in shock, hiding her face from the terrible sight. What was happening to Stormstar?

pixiepaw --
Pixiepaw smiled in relief when a warrioress dodged towards, out of breath. Oh, this must be her. She touched noses, a new shine in her amber eyes. Her mentor spoke in an excited rush; she seemed as excited as Pixiepaw was. Pixiepaw wriggled her gray tail in excitment.
Then, a loud crack reached her young ears. She twisted around and spotted Stormstar lying on the ground, with blood pour from him. "Uh-oh," She murmured. Her shoulders slumped when she suddenly thought of her father. First, it's Daddy, now our leader... She closed her eyes, and scrunched up her eyelids as tears leaked from the corners. She wiped them away with a gray paw, furious at herself for crying. Why does death happen so much?...
She took a deep breath, and looked up at Dapplecharm, attempting to assume her happy air once more. "I can't wait to get started," She responded quietly.

haloheart Haloheart gasped as Stormstar fell. She scanned the camp quickly. She could see Tinykit, Coconutkit and Myrtlekit sat in a circle - Cootkit must have gone back to the nursery. The small queen hurried to her kits. "Come on," she mewed, nudging them into the nursery. She gave scrawny little Tinykit a stronger nudge, knowing how curious he was. "Go on, dear." The ginger tabby she-cat then turned back to stare wide-eyed at where her leader had fallen. Her sky blue eyes narrowed as she heard Kitewhistle's sharp words to Emeraldpaw. The poor youngster had enough to deal with, without sharp-tongued, cottonbrained warriors taking chunks out of her. Haloheart padded up to defend the cat who had been her sister's apprentice. Since Dragonflydance had died, Haloheart had felt protective over Emeraldpaw. Though much smaller than him, Haloheart still managed to look menacing as she glared at Kitewhistle - the tom who, though she didn't know it, was in fact her nephew. "Leave her alone, Kitewhistle," she mewed sharply.

Frostfoot
Frostfoot skidded into the clearing. Oh, snap! I'm a mentor and I'm late for my own ceremony!! She skidded to a stop and ran towards the ceremony. "Sorry!" She gasped, before looking around for her apprentice. When she spotted Jadepaw, she trotted over and touched noses. "Sorry." She apoligized again. "Want to find a nest?" She asked the new apprentice. But then she heard Swampfox's cry, and she turned her head. "Long live Stormstar!" She repeated, a little bewildered. Then she saw Stormstar. It all made sense. The great leader was dying. But she didn't want Jadepaw seeing this. "Come on, let's go visit the apprentices' den." She meowed to the new apprentice.
Midnightsky
Midnightsky turned his head, watching as Stormstar made new apprentices. He started to congratulate the new apprentices, but cut off as he saw Stormstar."Stormstar! No!" He cried. He immediately raced towards Fadedmemory and the dying leader. "Is there anything I can do?" He asked her, looking scared. "I need to talk to you later." He added in an undertone. He straightened up his head, and waited for her answer to his question.

JADEPAW]] The she-cat looked up as she heard the cries, and sickening crack that sounded like bones echoed in her ears. Her dark eyes narrowed as they watched Swampfox sprint across the clearing, skidding to a halt beside Stormstar, who lay crumpled, and Fadedmemory, who covered the dying leader with her body. A small whimper came from Jadepaw before she looked up ato see her mentor. Nodding, she quickly shot for the apprentice's den, sticking her head inside and looking aroudn for an empty nest. FADEDMEMORY]] She could feel cats moving around her, but she herself did not move. The cat she thought StarClan had destined to live forever was leaving her. And she wasn't ready, at least, she didn't think she was. Raising slightly, she gazed around, her eyes sharp. "Calm down, everyone. Would you be like this if I were to die? Emerladpaw? Yes. He was our leader, but that gives us no right to lose our control on the emotions we posses." Fadedmemory meowed loudly, for the Clan to hear. Her gaze turned towards Swampfox, nodding at his words before turning towards Midnightsky. She pressed her muzzle to his cheek before moving away, walking around her dying leader and lowering herself down.
She looked up sharply as Kitewhistle yelled at Emerladpaw. The she-cat growled in her throat before she stood up again, starting towards him, moving inbetween him and the young medicine cat. "That is uncalled for, Kitewhistle. Emeraldpaw, though she is wise, cannot save someone from death." Fadedmemory mewed, voice low as she dared the tom to talk back with her eyes.

The sickly leader blinked lovingly at his dear Skyflight. How he missed her. He nodded at her words, weakly flattening his ears as the Clan burst into a roar of fear desperation, anger, worry, and tension. It was painful. Stormstar looked gratefully to Fadedmemory as she called for the noise to cease. "Fadedmemory...thank you. I know you will serve well as a leader.... Do not...do not fear it. I never picked my deputies on a-" he hacked a bit, "on a whim... Just...just trust your gut...and StarClan will light our path. I will never truly be gone. Should you need me...should you need me, call upon me. I will always...always...always be watching you. You are like a child to me... Never gone, dear, never gone..."
Stormstar looked to his starry-furred mate. "Darling, take me home..." And with that, he gave his final exhale as a mortal, his spirit drifting to join that of his love's.
The almighty Stormstar was dead.[/blockquote]

. Emeraldpaw . . I wanna be inside your heaven, take me to the place you cry from . Emeraldpaw at first didn't really hear Fadedmemory's call she watched helplessly as her leader fell, the dark brown tabby she-cat appeared at the deputies side after words from before transferred into her brain. She looked over Stormstar with wide green eyes that were filled with her fears, the slender medicine cat apprentice looked up at the deputy wanting to cry. She didn't know what to do, she would've known, she could of known, but she didn't, the apprentice almost let out a wail when Kitewhistle spoke harshly to her. Emeraldpaw dipped her head in shame as she transferred the words into her mind like a serpent, she heard Haloheart's voice and that was all she needed to bring her voice. 'I don't know what to do!' Her usually pretty voice was now a shrill whisper as she panicked, her terror filled emerald green eyes looked at Fadedmemory, her words still dancing in them as Stormstar faded away. Her dark head finally hung in grief and fear as she closed her eyes, she had failed Dragonflydance, she had failed her clan, 'Long live Stormstar...' She whispered soundlessly.

FADEDMEMORY]] The she-cat's eyes stayed locked upon the leader as he expelled his last breaths, his words echoing through her mind as touched her nose to his fur, her tail touching Emerladpaw lightly on the shoulder. As his body went cold, Fadedmemory raised her head again, knowing what she had to do now. And who the only cat she could intrust the job to. Giving a small lick over the medicine apprentice's ear, the long-haired she-cat turned, bounding onto the Bird's Wing. She called out for silence, sitting down and awaiting for her command to be followed.
A cold breeze seemed to whisper through the camp, touching Fadedmemory on the shoulder as it went around her. The events of the past few minutes raced through her mind as the tried to grasp ahold of it. Her eyes widned suddenly as it all came down on her.
"I'm leader........"

swampfoxHe grunted at Midnightsky for bothering Fadedmemory with such whiny speech but otherwise held his tongue. Instead, the Russian Blue turned his eyes up to the new leader. "You shouldn't waste time here, m'lady," he said softly. "Who will you choose to take with you on your trip to MoonShard?" She could not tarry here while Stormstar was dead and there was no leader. She needed to get her nine lives as soon as possible, in case something should happen.
