Mowgli being old and wise can hurt but its rewarding Scrawny, frail, and somewhat weak, Mowgli, a white and tabby tom cat wondered into Serenity Clan territory. Something he hadn't done since he left his kitty-pet home. But that was many moons ago. He learned quickly where the borders lay and stayed clear from them. From with his old age catching up with him he felt it was time to find a new home, amongst the Clans before he died.
His pawsteps were slow and heavy. The snow below was cold and numbing but the small old tom kept on moving. Ahead of him was a lake. Serenity Clan's lake. With a light sigh and a smile he felt hope seep into his old heart. But the feeling of hunger took over that hope. The small sent of mouse made his mouth water. But it wasn't his to take... Yet.
Swallowing the saliva and plopping down next to the half frozen lake. A few laps of the icy cold water was enough for the old tom. It was almost too much for him. But it helped a little. The cold shot into the body of Mowgli like shards of ice. His pale green eyes went duller but still had their spark of happiness. Word Count; 201

It was cold out. Almost too cold for the lithe SerenityClan tom. Well, to be quite frank, it was too cold. The thing that Fieldpaw hated most about the piles and piles of snow? He couldn't see Laughingthrush again. Yes, the beige tom was a MoonClan warrior and Fieldpaw was from SerenityClan, but there was still a connection there. Fieldpaw was anxious tos ee the beautiful tom once more. Every single step that Fieldpaw took into the snow, he imagined he was walking through a moonlit copse of trees. Laughingthrush was standing there at the end, waiting for him. Fieldpaw shook his head and tried to clear them of those thoughts. Laughingthrush probably had never thought about him again. Sometimes Fieldpaw really felt needy. It disturbed him, how much he was thinking of this other cat. He needed a distraction, so now he was out here hunting.
Though it hadn't exactly helped. Fieldpaw had stopped to catch his breath underneath an old spruce. The branches shielded him from the whipping snow, which was a relief. Fieldpaw rested for a moment, the black and white tom's chest heaving. He was just about to go out again when he heard something. Footsteps, and the icy stillness of the water being disrupted. The ice over the lake had been broken and another cat was drinking from it! Fieldpaw got up to sneak up on them, trying to convince himself that it wasn't Laughingthrush. Prowling through the snow-covered bramble, Fieldpaw saw a cat up ahead. he was about to pounce, but he noticed the cat looked old and frail. So Fieldpaw puffed up his chest and yowled. "Stop where you are!"[/blockquote]

Mowgli being old and wise can hurt but its rewarding Startled, the older cat jolted his head up to see a black and white tom. He didn't look too much older than he had been when he left his home. Mowgli got to his feet slowly and gazed at the young tom with his pale green eyes. "Greetings young one." His voice was quiet and smooth. "Could I ask for a little assistance from you?" The old white and tabby tom asked politely. His pale green eyes lightened a bit. So innocent and so young... Mowgli thought to himself. A half smile grew on his face. He missed the younger years. He took a pawstep forward but stayed far enough away ask to not frighten the small tom. His stomach growled and he felt hot with embarrassment. There was no way out of showing his weakness.

Disappointment clouded over Fieldpaw. This cat wasn't Laughingthrush, wasn't the handsome MoonClan warrior that Fieldpaw had been dying to see. For a moment, Fieldpaw felt like unsheathing his claws and driving this old and weak cat out of the Clan territory. But Fieldpaw's heart went out to the wizened old tom, and his motherly instincts took over. There was no way he would let any cat starve. The stranger's eyes, wide and pleading, appealed to Fieldpaw's compassion and the tom sighed. He didn't overlook the growl of hunger coming from the old tom's stomach. "Yeah, I can help you," he mewed cheerfully. Clearstar couldn't get mad at him for being compassionate, could she? This cat was no threat, and he didn't need much. "My name's Fieldpaw. You?" Mowgli being old and wise can hurt but its rewarding The hope Mowgli felt the whole way here and the wait for a cat to find him grew bigger. Maybe he was actually going to have a real home and maybe actually die with friends around him. He hoped anyways. A fuzzy warm feeling went through his whole body. With the cold air it became a shiver but the shiver was something Mowgli could get used to. Butterflies fluttering around in his old stomach making his tail stick up. "Thank you." He moved slowly but quicker than he had getting there. "I am Mowgli." His old age was kicking in and he wanted to tell the tom about his whole life as a loner but held back almost laughing at himself. "This is SerenityClan, right Fieldpaw? I mean, I have heard you're one of the best Clans..." Some sucking up couldn't hurt. He thought as he came beside Fieldpaw. Butterflies continued to flutter. Never had Mowgli felt like this before, but he liked it and didn't want the feeling to disappear.[/blockquote]

Fieldpaw shifted from side to side, the cold biting at the black and white tom's pelt. His usually soft fur was brittle with the cold. Snow dusted his pelt, and the tom looked as though he had just burst from a snowbank. He cas a glance at the icy lake behind the old patched cat and shivered. He couldn't imagine drinking from that. The tom's question brought him back to reality, and he blinked a few times before answering. "Nice to meet you, Mowgli," he mewed amiably, thoughts going back once again to how this cat was not and would never be Laughingthrush. "Yeah, this is SerenityClan," Fieldpaw told him, surprised that the tom knew. Though flattered by Mowgli's following compliment, Fieldpaw pressed for more details. "So... how do you know about us?" Mowgli being old and wise can hurt but its rewarding Mowgli trotted alongside Fieldpaw. His paws were numb but his happiness was burning within him. But he knew not to get his hopes up, yet. The question he longed for the tom to ask rang through his ears. "Well my house-folk moved from a place called a 'city' to the twoleg place near here. A bunch of loners that lived by told me about Clan Cats. I thought they were just joking." He paused to catch his breath. His lungs weren't as good as they used to be. The smoke from twoleg monsters were toxic to any animals' lungs. Mowgli was just lucky enough to inhale a lot of it. "But I," he continued, "got attacked by those dark EclipseClan cats. I was lucky enough to get away and from then on I stayed near a barn and around the twoleg place. Though, I did catch my own prey and have lived as a loner for a long time." Mowgli wanted to go into more detail but knew he'd either get laughed at or rejected or maybe even feared. He knew a lot about twolegs but never spoke of it. He felt as if it was forbidden. Besides he didn't want the young tom to get bored.

The black and white tom stood there, feeling quite proud of himself. Who cared if Clearstar became angry. He had helped a cat in distress, and that made him feel good inside. It was quite a motherly feeling, except that this Mowgli character was so much older than him. Maybe Laughingthrush would be proud that he had done a compassionate thing... But Fieldpaw shook that thought from his head as Mowgli explained where he came from. he couldn't let Laughingthrush distract him. When Mowgli came to the part about EclipseClan, Fieldpaw let out a quick purr. "EclipseClan isn't the nicest Clan. You were right to come to SerenityClan," Fieldpaw mewed happily. Not only was this new cat ancient and wise, he was also quite smart. "Anyways," mewed the patched tom, turning away. "Come with me and I'll lead you back to camp and then we'll see if Clearstar will accept you."
OOC|| I feel kinda bad asking you this, but can you maybe not post with black font? ^^ Only because the skin I'm using has black as the background colour (: Also, there's a thread where Mystique is being accepted into SC. Maybe Field should bring Mowgli into that? Though it's really just for Mystique... =/ [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Mowgli being old and wise can hurt but its rewarding Mowgli nodded in agreement to the EclipseClan statement. He didn't have very nice memories with them. A shiver went down his spine making him stop in his tracks for a moment. He continued with a little bit of a limp. The cold was getting to him. His numbing paws hurt slightly but tried to hide it. Mowgli thought highly of the young tom for helping him out. Never in his wildest dreams did he ever think anyone would help him out like this. But even though Fieldpaw was being nice to him now he still had to get past the leader. It scared him in a small way to meet the leader but her name, Clearstar, seemed nice. He let his nerves relax before speaking. "Will you, I mean do you think Clearstar will be okay with me coming to her for help? She seems nice..." He trailed off leaving the rest for Fieldpaw to figure out. He let his mind wonder while almost tripping over his own paws. Feeling hot with embarrassment again he tried to regain his poseur. *cough* He cleared his throat and waddled up beside Fieldpaw after falling a bit behind. "I... I would like to thank you Fieldpaw. I'm grateful for this. Even if Clearstar doesn't accept me I am still happy you tried helped me out. The old tom smiled.
Ooc;// Oh I am sorry. ^^;; I didn't know. If you want to move to that thread sure. :3 [/blockquote]
