Koikit is large for his age. You can tell just by the way he stands by his siblings - he's a head taller than Juniperkit and Chaffinchkit, at least, if not a bit bigger than even Galaxykit. He's not buff or muscled, but he's tall amd slender, with long limbs and an almost graceful figure. And, as if he needed anything to make getting around any easier for him, he's very light on his paws. Not even a rabbit can hear him coming.

Koikit's fur is very slick to his body, making him seem almost streamlined. As his name would suggest, he looks a lot like a koi - an orange and white spotted fish that can be found in many ponds and lakes around the world. The main difference between his coat and a koi's skin coloring is that his ginger spots are much, much paler orange. They splatter along his body, leaving random patches of white on his back and stomach.

Koikit's a little bugger. He loves playing pranks and tricks, sometimes even giving apprentices and warriors a little scare from time to time. Being just a kit, most of his scemes are rather two-dimensional (example: find Juniperkit, and when she's not looking, pounce on her tail!), but he has fun pulling them off anyway. He has a big ego and hates being treated like a kit. He teases others mercilessly when he's bored, especially Juniperkit, who's one of his favourite targets because she's just so easy to scare.

Despite his sneakyness and sly tricks, though, Koikit's just a kithood troublemaker. He doesn't mean anything by his rude comments or pranks. He's just trying to have fun. For him, life without pranks is like a cone without the ice cream. Bert without Ernie. A salad without the dressing. Get it? He's just bored, and as he grows he will become more cautious of how his pranks hurt others.

... At least, I hope he will, or we're going to have one great big problem on our hands.

Petalrain's father died when she was young. Her brother disappeared only moons later, and now he's living in a different land. Duskheart's story is much the same; is that why they work so well together? Or is it that they're both courageous and kind? Gentle souls, brought together by fate? Whatever it was, when Night Tree showed up at the SerenityClan camp with his father and sister, young Petalpaw took an almost instant liking to him.

Night Tree's father died not long after the three loners were given shelter in the SerenityClan medicine den. His sister was too sick to live much longer, either. But Petalpaw liked Night Tree, and eventually Night Tree decided that he didn't want to go back to the life he had lived before - not when the rest of his family had died here. He became a warrior under the name Duskheart.

By then, he and Petalrain knew that they loved eachother. It wasn't until moons later that Petalrain gave birth to four kits; two toms and two she-cats; and the funny thing is that all their personalities are so different it's almost comical. Chaffinchkit greets Koikit, and he grumbles about letting him sleep. Juniperkit wakes up to Chaffinchkit's kind voice, but Galaxykit coaxes her back to sleep. She trusts him, but when Koikit is sure that his sister's asleep... well, you can probably fill in the rest.
