mimedove i bide my time while biting my tongue They had always told her just how beautiful the rocks were at night. Mimedove had spent a lot of time in the nursery as an apprentice. The queens had been nice to her. They hadn't made fun of her weight or her stutter. Speaking of her weight, Mimedove was proud to announce it was going away. The chubby she-cat was slimming down, and some of the crass toms in the Clan had already looked over her. One of the queens had even called her pretty! Her stutter was leaving, too. Sure, it popped up around strange cats, but she could just about control it. She was a warrior now, but Mimedove felt the same as before. She wasn't beautiful and confident. No, the she-cat was still as alone as ever. The queens had told her stories of how they had gone with their lovers up here and looked at the silver stones. They had told her it was so romantic, like a scene from a dream.
Well, Mimedove was up here now, but where was the tom sent to take her breath away? It was late, after the sun had set. The moon hung in the sky, turning the grey rocks a brilliant silver. Mimedove stared up at the dark night sky, letting the stars wash over her. She was so small, in such a big world. Was there someone for her out there? Looking down at her slightly pudgy form and thinking about her nervous stutter, Mimedove couldn't visualize herself with a tom. She was still too young. But she had come out here, to the place that the queens called a perfect paradise. Still, no tom. It had to mean soemthing. Mimedove yawned softly, apdding backwards and sitting down. Licking her muzzle, she glanced down to the mouse bones beside her. Even if she didn't have a crush, she didn't need one. The rocks were beautiful enough.

foxmark The snow was lighter now, manageable, but still dangerous to be out here alone. His tail swayed back and forth slowly as he looked to the dark sky, the snow barely visible in the night. The fox-like tom's orange eyes flashed around as a lone squirrel scuttled away from the black shadow. He snorted quietly, rolling his eyes. Just like everyone else in his life, everything either died, or ran away. It pained him, watching his foster parents leave him, his foster brother also. And then Haunt. That was the hardest of them all. He sighed quietly as he looked to the sky again. Blazingsky and Vixenpelt had just been taken from him, a badger that was hungry and it's cubs had just died. Foxmark let out a breath as he came upon the rocks he heard his daughter talking about. He cocked his head to the side as he started up the rocks, looking around as a breath ruffled his black fur.
Ah...now he remembered why they seemed familiar. Vixen and Blaze raised the around these rocks. A smile came upon the normally blank face. That is, until her head something behind him and whipped around. Just a new warrior. But still, what was she doing out here? "What are you doing out here alone"

mimedove i bide my time while biting my tongue It was cold out, Mimedove realized. She had been so entranced by the moon and the stars that she hadn't noticed when she had began to shiver. When the she-cat broke her gaze from that of the glittering sky and looked down, she found snow coating her. up her fur to stay warm, Mimedove looked at the sky again. This time she saw what she hadn't before. Thousands of white dots, spiralling down towards her. Well of course, it was snowing. It had only been a few days ago that she had rescued Spindlespider from the treachorous snow that the silver tabby was now enjoying. She couldn't be decieved into thinking it was safe. Why had she come out here, anyways? Mimedove had left camp so hurridly, she hadn't thought about the danger.
Opening her mouth to catch a flake of snow on her tongue, Mimedove was surprised as she caught another scent. Whirling around, the chubby she-cat took a step backwards and almost slipped off the edge. Catching herself just in time, she stared at the newcomer. For a moment, his pelt shone silver, and he looked like StarClan itself had come down to greet her. But the moment past, and Mimedove saw him without the silver light. he was large and hulking, and for a moment, fear grasped her heart. But then the she-cat recognized him. It was only Foxmark, one of the older warriors. He was the silent type; they had never talked. "W-watching the m-moon," she stuttered. Oh no, her stutter was here. It was to be expected, after all. She didn't really know Foxmark. "C-couldn't sleep. Y-you?" [/blockquote]

foxmark The tom looked to the sky at her comment, raising an eyebrow. He hadn't been able to see the moon in ages if felt like. He smiled softly as he noticed the bright object in the sky that cut through the thick clouds. He raised an eybrow as he looked around before allowing his gaze to land on the young warrioress. Mimedove, was it? She certainly sounded a bit nervous. Of course, who wouldn't considering most of the Clan knew he was raised by foxes, his own kits named after the two that raised him. He shook his head as he sat down, raising one ebony paw and licking it before pulling it over his ear.
"Ah....The moon does look pretty tonight. A nice gift after the snowstorm, wouldn't you agree?" Foxmark asked, looking from the small she-cat, then to the moon. "Same reason. Though for me, this is almost routine." He murmured, more to himself as he turned his attention back to the she-cat.

mimedove i bide my time while biting my tongue The silver tabby looked at him curiously. He seemed in a dream-like state, as if the bright rocks held something for him other than beauty. Mimedove had never given much thought to the pasts of others, and a sudden curiousity struck her. But the she-cat was too nervous to ask him, or to comment at all on the mysterious look in his eyes. Instead, she shuffled her feet and sighed slightly. Her breath rose in front of her like a cloud of steam, and Mimedove watched it for a moment before turning back to Foxmark. The warrior never usually talked, but now here he was, telling her he couldn't sleep either. He mentioned something about a routine, and Mimedove pricked her ears. Did he come by here often?
"R-routine?" she mumbled, still curious, but too scared to do something. If only someone else was here with her. But Mimedove had never had a best friend. Sure, she had she-cats who had talked with her and hung out with her, but there hadn't been one who she could confide everything to. "The q-queens said it w-would," Mimepaw mumbled. "T-the m-moon, I mean," she clarified, looking over the edge of the rocks to where Foxmark was sitting on the ground. They weren't that high at all- it had taken Mimepaw only a few seconds to scramble up. The she-cat moved away from the edge. "C-come up if you w-want." [/blockquote]

foxmark The tom raised his head slightly, looking at the she-cat questioningly. Then is occurred to him. No one knew what this tom might be up to at night. Never once had he been alone with another in many moons. The tom sighed, tail swaying back and forth as he looking to the moons, then back to the rock. Closing his eerie orange eyes, he could almost smell his foster family's scent. Haunt's scent. Foxmark dug his claws into the ground, looking up at the she-cat. "Yes...I come out here almost every night. I was raised here." He murmured before starting up the rock to sit beside the small she-cat.
And suddenly, he felt the urge to let out what he always kept inside. The grief he held in his soul. "I come here to remember my parents. They were foxes, thus where my name came from. They found me here, and hide where MoonClan couldn't find them." He mewed softly, tail brushing the rock.

The she-cat shivered, moving over to make room for him as he clamboured up onto the rocks. She fluffed out her fur, drawing her long silver and black tail around her paws. She nodded vaguely as he explained why these rocks were so important to him. Despite herself, Mimedove let her curiousity get the better of her. "R-Raised here? Weren't you raised in M-MoonClan?" she asked silently, realizing that she didn't know anything about the patched ginger tom. Well, apart from the fact that he was silent, and really large. She had often wondered if the big warrior was mute, but he seemed to be proving her wrong. Mimedove subtly scooched closer to him, trying to use him as a shelter from the cold. Foxmark wouldn't mind, would he?
Mimedove blinked in surprise as Foxmark confided in her, the tip of her tail curling up in satisfaction. She had barely heard the warrior string together a sentence, let alone two ones that made sens and revealed so much about himself. "Foxes..." she murmured, mostly to herself. She would be too scared to grow up with foxes. "Who w-were your r-real parents? D-Do you know?" she asked silently, before realizing there were other questions that she wanted to ask. "Uhm, who found you and brought you back here?" Mimedove mewed silently, slowly losing her stutter around him. [/blockquote]
