leafblade It wasn't true. It couldn't be true. Not everything she went through.
Her body felt horrible, everything ached as she moved to try and get a better hold on herself. The small she-cat shook, muzzle between her paws and body curled into a ball, trying to keep the warmth in. Cats had come and gone, unknown to the fact that the she-cat was in pain, mentally and physically. It didn't help that the cat she wanted most was sitting a few tail-length in front of her. Not once had Flaxfeather looked back at her. Not once. Her tail tip flicked, tickling her nose and making her sneeze painfully. How could something be so painful? Leaflbade didn't know, and as cold wracked her body, she only wanted it to be over.
Maybe she should have stayed out in the snow. That would have ended everything. The pain and suffering, and everything else that was thrown at her. With a rough breath, she got to her paws, starting towards the den entrance and looking out into the white.

jaspersmoke The wind was cold as it howled through the ferns of the warriors' den. Jaspersmoke was crouched inside, pressed firmly against Northrain. He hoped their kits were being sensible, then relaxed. Mythpaw and Requiempaw would keep Lynxpaw in line... The large, pale red tom blinked open his green eyes as he heard a gasp. He turned his cheek, to see Leafblade, a young warrioress, curled in on herself, looking pained. Jaspersmoke wondered whether he should talk to her, or leave her alone. After dithering for a moment or two, he crawled away from his large mate and towards the tortoiseshell. Once he reached her, Jaspersmoke nudged her with his nose. "Hey, hey," he mewed in his deep voice. "Are you okay?" His face and eyes were worried. He hated to think of any cat in pain.

leafblade The tortoiseshell jumped as she heard a deep voice from behind her. Her fur fluffed out as her ears became hot with embarassment. She turned towards the male, looking at her paws and unsheathing her claws. "I...I don't know."Leafblade muttered, cringing as pain shot through her body. "I haven't been feeling my best...I don't have a cold, though. Not that I know of..." The she-cat murmured, rearranging herself to be more comfortable. She took a step back, thought she had no idea why, Her eyes flashed to Jaspersmoke, then her eyes drifted towards Flaxfeather again, and his family. All of them bunched together, keeping warm."It might just be the cold getting to me. I don't think I was meant to live in winter"

jaspersmoke The muscular tom listened quietly to her words. He noticed the way her eyes kept flicking over to another part of the den. His own gaze followed her's. He frowned a little. What was so interesting about Runespell and Leopardflight, and their little coven of kits? The topaz-coloured warrior looked back at the tortoiseshell warrioress, concern still clear on his face. "Still. You shouldn't take any chances, Leafblade. A visit to Cloudedsky never hurt anybody." Jaspersmoke smiled encouragingly at her. Still, she was looking at the little family. Flaxfeather in particular. Oh. He got it. She had a thing for the impulsive ginger tom. Maybe she was just heartsick. It happened. He chuckled lightly at her words. "I don't think any of us were," he mewed, trying to lighten up the situation. "Hey, do you want to talk to Flaxfeather? I could ask him, if you like."

leafblade Leafblade let out a sigh, then smiled lightly. This wasn't right. No cat should be this kind to her. Especially when she was like this. She shook her head slowly, taking one more glance at Flaxfeather, then his father before settle back on Jaspersmoke. Why did a relationship have to be so complicated? And why did she have to fall for the cat who's father hated her? And now did he also? Her tail curled around her body as she thought. "I'm sure I'm just imagining it. I haven't been thinking correctly the past few days. I'm probably just tired" The pretty tortoiseshell smiled softly, tail tip quivering with cold. Her eyes widened as she mentioned talking to Flaxfeather, and her cheeks became warm. "I...Don't know....I don't think he likes me." Leafblade murmured. "I just wish someone in his family didn't hate me. His sister does, his father does, and now I think he does." She murmured, leaning forwards and pressing her face into the tom's shoulder.
