fadedmemory She could feel them coming. Slowly everyday, she knew they were on their way to coming into the world. The little lives that lived inside her stomach were ready to greet their mother, but Fadedmemory wasn't prepared for this. No. This was one thing she wasn't prepared for. Of course, she had helped with so many other kittings, but her own was a different story. The fact that the deputy was having kits was an odd thing, really. But still true. The fact that she hid the kits so well surprised her. With her growing stomach, she would have thought someone would have noticed. But maybe someone did, but just didn't tell her. The she-cat hadn't even told her own mate, for the fact that he might annoucne to the who Clan that he was going to be a father, and she didn't want that.
As far as she could go, Fadedmemory came to the Vapour Falls, hoping that the roar of the falls would mask any sounds of pain she might have made. With a deep breath, the she-cat lay down on her side just as the first pain raced through her stomach. And with that, more of the pain came, along with that the first kit. And so on did it go. As each were born, Fadedmemory would grab it as the pain subsided, licking it clean and pushing it towards her stomach. As the last small she-cat was born, The deputy's head fell back, letting out a deep sigh before rising up again.
Five beautiful kits. Five new lives for CloudClan. The only problem now would be getting them home.....

swampfox "I was wondering when they were going to show up. You can't hide forever."
The murmur came from the soft-spoken Russian Blue tom, whose frame had not moved from his post the entire time. He blinked and looked down, his hulking frame towering from atop the wet rocks that suffered the crashing abuse of the waterfall. Swampfox lunged from across the way, landing in the water like an alligator and surging toward her. His ears poked out from the rapids as he swam swiftly to the other side.
He rocketted to the surface and shook his gray fur, waving his bottlebrush tail as he approached the she-cat. He looked down at her with gentle light green eyes, sighing slightly.
"Are you hurt, Fadedmemory?" he asked softly, sitting down next to her. Wet pooled around him, dripping slowly back into the creek. He examined her body and then looked into her eyes, awaiting her reply. [/sup]

fadedmemory Her head snapped up as she heard the faint voice, fearing the worse that it was one of the cats that disliked her, that thought she was much too soft for the position that Stormstar had chosen for her. She let out a sigh of relief as Swampfox appeared by her side. She lowered her head, nosing at the large tom-kit. Fadedmemory looked up at the tom, meeting his eyes. "I'm fine, Swampfox. Thank you for your concern" She mewoed softly, her eyes returning to the kits at her stomach.
A small smile graced her features as she looked towards the waterfall. Most would never get this opportunity, having their kits outside the nursery. But unlike most queens, the deputy had a duty, and that didn't involve caring for kits. But still, she would love them all the same. "How long have you known?" The deputy asked, her voice still quiet, but yet holding a bit of authority. She wanted to know how long this male had known, and hopefully, no one else had.

swampfox The tom raised his tail, shaking it free of water. "You haven't been feeling well. I can recognize the symptoms," he said quietly. "A few weeks now." The massive tom looked down and gestured to the deputy's brood.
"We should get them back. Midnightsky doesn't know, does he?" He hadn't seen the tom around much.
His large paw reached forward and touched one of the kittens gently, thinking of his lost family. Swampfox smiled faintly, his eyes twinkling as he met Fadedmemory's. [/sup]

fadedmemory The she-cat cursed quietly, face turning hot as he mentioned how she had been feeling ill. Of course, she wouldn't complain. Some say when she was younger, she would have. My, have things changed for the she-cat that had lost her memory. Giving a small smile, the deputy looked up. "At least someone I trust found me here." Fadedmemory mewed quietly, raising an eyebrow at him. It wasn't that long ago she had first started feeling unwell. And it was a few days later that she figured it out, without the help of the young medicine cat apprentice.
"Of course not. If I were to tell him, he would have gone around, telling everyone he was a father. And who would they think were mothering his kits?" The deputy asked, then let out a small chuckle. He really would do something like that....."Let's just hope that Stormstar, along with the nursing mothers believe that I happened upon them while patroling" Her bushy tail flicked back and forth as she covered her kits with it.

swampfoxAt the compliment, the tom bowed respectfully. "Thank you, milady," he murmured almost inaudibly.
He lifted his head when she spoke about Midnightsky, nodding at her words. "True...but the best thing would be the truth." His brows depressed slightly, wondering how Stormstar would take the news. He shook himself again, taking away the frozen water droplets.
Swampfox sighed and stared down at his paws and the kittens thoughtfully, watching them nurse at their mother's side. "Do you have names?" He asked this as he began washing the evidence of the birth into the water, his paws starting to get a bit crimson at the edges.
ooc;// Could Swamp name one, for jealousy's sake? [/sup]

fadedmemory The she-cat let out a quiet breath as his mention about truth. It would have been hard to tell him...not that she didn't trust her mate. Infact, she trusted him with her life. But something like this...she couldn't risk it. These were kits that needed to be hidden, and kept a secret from those who didn't need to know. "I suppose it would....but I just felt the need to keep this to myself" Fadedmemory meowed softly as she watched Swampfox clean the birthing mess up. She let out a small laugh at his mention of names.
"I do, in fact, have a few names. I have...four...." She murmured, looking at the kits. There were five there. "In exchange for keeping this a secret, would you like the honor of naming one, Swampfox?" The deputy asked, her eyes rising to met his.
[ooc/ That would be interesting....Sure ^^ He can name one

swampfoxHe sighed but held up his paws defensively. "Very well. I'll keep your secret," he murmured.
The large tomcat nestled down and nosed one of the kits, pushing it closer to Fadedmemory. Swampfox had a feeling that the deputy's milk scent and sudden loss of weight would be investigated. "You'll have to stay in the nursery for a while to explain the milk scent... Tell..."
He faltered, struggling to not say Dragonflydance's name. The she-cat had been dead for several days and there was nothing he could do about it. Stop berating yourself, dumb ass, he snarled at himself.
The tom shook himself and continued. "Tell Emeraldpaw that you think you ate some bad prey and haven't been feeling well. It will explain your symptoms of nausea as well as your loss of weight." He was ordering the deputy around and not even noticing it. He was just trying to look into her best interests.
Swampfox blinked when she spoke about names. "Me? I...If you wish," he said. The large gray looked at the kittens and touched one of the she-kits. "Timekit." He had a feeling this secret would not go away in time. [/sup]

fadedmemory She nodded faintly, her eyes again drifting towards the kits. With a sigh, she shifted her body, nudging the kits away for a moment. Her head swam as she moved, making her fall back again and let out a breath. Instead of trying to move again, she pushed the four unnamed kits towards her stomach, her tail brushing over Timekit.
"Thank you for the information." Fadedmemory murmured, ignoring the commanding tone he was using with her. She didn't mind it . He was older, more experienced. And he was was helping her. She smiled softly at that thought. "I'll be sure to tell her that." The she-cat mewed, tail brushing over as the thought of the names.
"Ravenkit...." The she-cat pointed with her tail to the raven-colored tom-kit. She glanced towards the two she-kits beside him. One looked a bit like her, the other, a dusty-grey color. " Brightkit and Cinderkit" She meowed before turning to the last kit, her eyes becoming soft as she looked at the kit's fur, noticing the small crescent shape. "And Moonkit" She said finally, smiling down at them. "Timekit, Ravenkit, Brightkit, Cinderkit and Moonkit. What lovely names"

swampfoxSwampfox hesitated and then nestled himself against the kits too, so that they would be warm. He swallowed a lump in his throat and wondered how CloudClan would take this. Finding Loonkit wasn't so bad but five kits? Just dumped there? Even a new apprentice would probably find that suspicious. However, he had insisted that she tell the truth and she refused. Whatever happened now... He couldn't stop the snowball effect.
"You're welcome," he grunted slightly, looking into her eyes with his piercing gaze before looking up at the sky. He half-listened as she named the other kits.
"I..." He paused, trying to figure out how he could say this. "I'm going to be Devil's Advocate here. How the hell did we find five kits just sitting around?" He raised a muscled brow at the deputy.
"If you want..." He closed his eyes as he contemplated his next words.
"I could say that they are my brood...that I had an out-of-Clan relationship and the mother died. I could cover for you...since you're my deputy." He said the 'my' almost possessively. [/sup]

Midnightsky
Midnightsky had stepped outside of the camp for a walk. He had just made it past a fallen tree, when he heard a faint shriek. He turned and raced to the Vapour Falls, only to see Swampfox leaning over Fadedmemory. He padded over and caught scent of blood. "Faded- Oh." He mewed softly, noticing the five kits. "Why didn't you tell me?" He asked, a little hurt. Then he bent and sniffed each kit. "What are their names?" He asked, still not looking at Fadedmemory.[/color]

fadedmemory Her eyes widened as she looked up at the tom, tail curling protectively over her kits. She looked to the ground, then away from the tom. Could she really allow him to do that? Claim them as his own, while she was forced to act as if they weren't her own. It wasn't fair. But that was life. Nodding, she let out a sigh.
"That sounds.....logical. I just hope they will be able to understand once their older..." Fadedmemory meowed, sighing quietly. Her tail brushed Swampfox's back, smiling softly.
"Thank you. I know i;ve said that many times, but thank you for this, Swampfox. I appreciate this." The deputy meowed as she attempted to rise to her paws again, this time succeeding. "We should get them to camp. I don't want them to freeze out here. Then you'll need to come with me to tell Stormstar....both our stories." She mewed as she turned to pick up the two identical black kits, Timekit and Ravenkit.

swampfox He smiled gently. "I will tell them the truth, that their mother was a great cat and that she did her best to defend them but that she was overwhelmed by another power. Whether or not they'll be able to see through the allegory is up to them," he said quietly, dipping his head to Fadedmemory as he stood up. His light-green eyes watched her tail as she ran it across his back, a light crook tipping the edge of his smile.
He paused as she thanked him. "It's my duty to defend you, Fadedmemory," Swampfox murmured, turning away. "StarClan doesn't often give me the ways on how to do so but when they do, I take advantage of these opportunities." The much larger tom was able to take the remaining kits, Brightkit in his maw and Moonkit and Cinderkit on his broad shoulders.
His ears bent back as he now adopted the tone of a chastised warrior, in case someone was out there. "I apologize for my transgressions, Fadedmemory. Thank you for offering to talk to Stormstar on behalf of my kits. They shouldn't suffer for my sin that will never happen again." Swampfox lowered his head to the deputy and began walking to camp. [ooc]I never said I wanted Midnightsky here. Just the fact that Faded was having her kits, I wanted to let you know. But yeah..we have a miniplot for these two, and if Middie came, it would kinda ruin it =\

[ooc] I never said anything about her leaving Middie. I just said that she's going to get close to Swamp, and possibly make Middie assume things. /shrug;fadedmemory The she-cat only nodded, hiding her sorrow as she started towards the camp, still wobbly on her paws from the stress she had gone through only a few moments ago. How long will it be before she saw them again? Would she be able to mentor one, and if she did, which of them? She sighed, taking a glance back at the three kits that the male was taking. Her eyes filled with sorrow, unable to hide it this time. As they drew closer to camp, she stopped, placing down the two black kits and nuzzling them, taking in their scent and locking it away in her mind. This pained her more then it should.
She was a deputy, not meant to be a queen. Her tail tip curled around the tom and she-kit before she let out a sigh, looking up at Swampfox. "This will be a very hard thing for me to do" Fadedmemory whispered before picking up her son and daughter, and entering the camp.
[ooc]I'll make a thread back in camp with Faded and Swamp giving the kits to queens, then going to talk with Storm.
