Falling through that hole in the sky, Watching it all go by, I know what pain is, To feel the loss of you.
Birdfeather An energetic warrior sprung from the warrior's den, feeling happy that a new day had come. She had no other reason to be so happy, than that today she wa taking out her apprentice. She stuck her head into the den and mewed a good bye to Deathflight, her mate. So much had finally gone right for the femme. After losing her mother, father, siblings (other than Runespell) and other family, she finally had a mate and an apprentice. She was looking forward to starting a family with Deathflight and knew that he must feel the same way.
Birdfeather bounced over to the Apprentice den and stuck her head in. 'Vinepaw! It's a wonderful day to go training!' She called to her apprentice. Se sat outside of the den and waited for the little cat to come out. [/sup][/blockquote]

{Vinepaw} The tiger she-cat was in a dream and she knew it but... it was more of a nightmare. Her siblings were about to play out there attack, her father was finally going to be placed out into the open and they would get rid of him, but instead of the angry tom she saw a fragile body, bloodied up from a battle. And out of the shadows stepped her sister, Wavedancer. But instead of the sweet sister she remembered it was replaced with face twisted of evil and large canine teeth sticking out of her mouth. Vinepaw watched as the she-cat lunched herself but before the EclipseClanner attacked Vinepaw shut her eyes only to open them to the real world.
She panted as she blinked away the remains of her dream, already fleeing like missed prey. Vinepaw noticed she was laying next to her exhausted looking siblings. Their night ride was a wild one and they were lucky that they hadn't been caught by a patrol that was out looking for the EclipseClanner that had attacked her father. She suddenly heard her name being called and for a moment she feared that it was her father, but the voice was too soft. She knew it was her mentor, Birdfeather.
The she-cat got up slowly so she wouldn't disturb the others and quietly padded out of the den. Once outside, she stretched each limb for a moment before giving herself a quick shake to dislodge any moss that had been clinging to her. She yawned, clearly tired from the night before and looked up at her mentor. "Good morning, Birdfeather. What are we doing today?"

Birdfeather Birdfeather purred a hello as her apprentice came over to her. She noticed that the apprentice looked tired. 'Long night? I heard about your father. You must be devastated. I want to go find that Eclipseclanner who hurt him and then make her pay. Hey, did you hear the rumour that's flying around? Cats are saying that she also killed Alderthorn and that she injured Windystorm as he tried to save the tom! Wow, he must be a noble cat. You must be proud of him.' Birdfeather had no idea of the true events from that night. She thought that it had all happened like how she hadjust described it. She didn't know that Windystorm was an evil cat always punishing his kits. [/sup][/blockquote]

{Vinepaw} Vinepaw first thought that her mentor would have asked why she had been out so late, almost everyone in the camp knew that she had been out but so far no one had asked why and Vinepaw was glad because she was unable to come up with an excuse to tell them. But she listened to Birdfeather as she spoke about her 'heroic' father. She was unable to hold it in as Birdfeather continued to speak about what Wavedancer had done.
"Wavedancer dancer never did that!" she snapped at her mentor before instantly regretting it. There was no way Birdfether could have known about the truth and at that moment Vinepaw wished that her thin body could sink into the ground and disappear forever. She tried to apologize but she couldn't even bring herself to look at her mentor, left alone speak. She tried but it only came out as a squeak.

Birdfeather Birdfeather looked taken aback for a moment, then realized something. 'Vinepaw, did you know what happened last night? You can confide in me. I'm here for you! Please, tell me, I know that something is bothering you and it isn't good to hold it in. I did that and I almost went crazy! Then I met Deathflight. That's a different story, though. What's going on with you, though? I want the truth and I won't tell any other cat, I promise.' She then realized how close they were to the Medicine Den and Windystorm. 'Let's go talk outside of camp so we weon't be overheard.' Birdfeather wasn't mad at her apprentice at all, only concerned. SHe led the way out of camp, stopping just outside of the entrance for her apprentice. [/sup][/blockquote]

{Vinepaw} Vinepaw stood there and just watched her mentor for a moment, wondering what her next move should be. She thought for a moment if she should bring one of her other siblings for back up or something but then decided to handle this herself. She thought about Birdfeather and for a moment thought about what a mother would act like and realized that what Birdfeather was doing was the exact thing Birdfeather was doing. She also knew that Birdfeather was right. Vinepaw couldn't keep everything locked up inside of her, things were already coming apart because everyone thought that Windystorm was the hero.
The tiger striped apprentice finally made her feet move and she silently slipped out of the camp entrance. For once almost glad to tell another cat about her troubles. "Where are we going?" she asked her mentor, paws inching for a morning ran.

Birdfeather Birdfeather listened to Vinepaw, then pointed with her tail at a clearing not too far from where they were. 'Come on, let's go this way. You wan run ahead if you like.' Birdfeather mewed. She was still bothered that her apprentice seemed so upset. She shrugged, knowing that she'd find out soon enough and ran on to the clearing. She reached the clearing before Vinepaw and sat down to wait for her. [/sup][/blockquote]

{Vinepaw} Vinepaw lagged behind some as she followed her mentor. Her mind was mostly on where to begin telling her. But her heart told her she could trust the warrior and she knew it. Finally Vinepaw sped up and met Birdfeather in the small clearing. She sat down infront of the warrior and looked at the ground, making circles in the dirt as she spoke.
"Well... you see..." The she-cat stopped making circles and looked up at Birdfeather. "I guess its kind-of known to everyone that my father beats me and my siblings. Well that she-cat that attacked my father last night, her name is Wavedancer. She's my sister. Windystorm once lived in EclipseClan and he and Racconmask fell in love and had another litter of kits once, before me and the others. They all live in EclipseClan and they know of our father beating us so they are trying to find a way to stop him. I don't know what happened last night but I and..."
She stopped not knowing if she should mention Viperpaw and Eveningpaw. "I had gone out to meet with my older brother, Raincatcher, and I guess he brought Wavedancer too. I was late and I guess Wavedancer went to look for me and ran into Windystorm. I don't know who killed Alderthron."
Suddenly she remember Berryleaf. "But Berryleaf might now. She had sentry duty that night!"

Birdfeather Birdfeather stared at her apprentice in astonishment. 'That's why you snapped at me... You need battle training as soon as possible. Vinepaw, I'll help you guys make this all right. I would go to Grainstar, but I don't know what Windystorm might do if I do.' She mewed to the little apprentice. In a sudden movement, she pulled Vinepaw close and gave her a hug. She let her go and looked at her straight in the eye. 'I will protect you and your siblings. Don't ever be afraid to come to me for help. I'm here for you, Vinepaw. Okay?' She felt bad for her, seeing the little apprentice suffer at the paws of her father. Birdfeather had grown up with Stormprowler as her father; the best father in the forest, in her opinion. She had no idea how bad it was, but she figured that their mother wasn't there for them. Birdfeather's heart broke as she thought of this because no cat should ever have to go through this. [/sup][/blockquote]
