flaxfeather A light breeze caressed Flaxfeather's cheek. He was sat outside the warriors' den, light green eyes swinging from side to side. He had been appointed to guard the camp. They weren't supposed to be taking any chances. He wasn't sure why, but he knew that Ghostlystar was dead, and they were likely to be attacked by CloudClan. The fluffy ginger tabby tom lifted a paw and licked it with a sigh. He dully reflected that his older brother, Grainpelt, would be leader now. It was typical of him. He was a natural leader. The younger tom yawned. This job was one of the more boring parts of being a warrior. He wished he had someone, anyone to talk to, but all the other warriors were either out hunting or patrolling or sleeping in the warriors' den.

leafblade She shook her head as she slipped into the camp's main clearing. Her head stung, like something had hit her repeatedly, even though she hadn't even gone close to climbing a tree. A low growl came from between her jaws, around the three mice she had caught. Leafblade scanned the clearing, after she had dropped off her prey, and noticed the bright orange pelt of a familer cat. Was he still mad at her? She shook the thought away as she grabbed a fairly large rabbit for this late in the season, dropping it before Flaxfeather. "Hungry? I heard you were on guard duty today" She asked quietly, sitting down infront of him, raising her paw to rub the spot where her head hurt, and coming back with the red liquid on her white paws. "Oh for the love of StarClan"She growled under her breath.

flaxfeather The fluffy-coated tom's heart leapt as Leafblade padded into the camp. Somebody to speak to! And besides, she was just the cat he had been thinking about. This thought made his cheeks heat up, so he looked away, at his paws. "Hey," he mewed in greeting as the tortoiseshell she-cat padded up to him. At her words, he glanced at the catch she had made. It was huge; very large for one so late in the season. "Uh, no. I'm fine, thanks." It was a lie. He hadn't eaten since sunhigh yesterday. Due to the drop in prey amounts (which was expected any time soon) he had been eating less. Staring at the rabbit made his stomach rumble loudly, but he gallantly refused to voice this. He distracted himself at the scent of blood. "You okay?"

leafblade Leafblade chuckled as his stomach grumbled, raising an eyebrow at them before turning her head away, licking a spot on her side to distract herself, a light red color came from under her tortoiseshell fur. She turned one leaf-green eyes towards Flaxfeather, shrugging her shoulders. "It's nothin'. Just a scratch. Any wound on the head always bleeds too much." The she-cat muttered, rolling her small shoulders as she turned back to face the tom, most of the blood that had trailed down her head was dried, and mostly gone. Only a small spot remained on her head. "No, c'mon. Let's eat. I can hear your stomach, and don't you dare even think about refusing. It would hurt my feelings" Leafblade meowed with a sly grin, smirking as she lied down infront of him and bit into the rabbit.

flaxfeather The fluffy orange tom still looked anxious, though he nodded at her explanation. It was true. Head wounds always bled more than you expected them too. He remembered when he had been a kit, and had tripped, scratching his brow. That had bled a lot, which had frightened him. Flaxfeather blinked, coming back to the present. The young warrior watched as Leafblade began to eat. His stomach yowled at him to join her. He tried to picture the kits' hungry faces, but her coaxing won him over and he joined her, ripping at the rabbit like a starved dog.

leafblade The tortoiseshell grinned as he dropped down, ripping into the rabbit. She sat back, sitting on her haunches and starting to wash her small paws. "Knew you were hungry. Can't always pretend your not" Leafblade meowed, a grin upon her small face as she pulled her paw over her ears, leaf-green eyes closing slightly as the motion passed over her eye. She opened them again before she laid down on her side, spreading out her long, but thin body and soaking in the last of the sun's warmth before new-leaf. "How have you been since we last talked?" Leafblade asked as she opened her eyes, looking up at the fluffy-orange tom, her tail swishing back and forth on the grass.

flaxfeather The young warrior said nothing for a while, concentrating on nothing but eating. The tom looked up guiltily as he heard her voice. He had eaten most of the rabbit. He swallowed, licking the blood from his muzzle. Flaxfeather then drew back as politely as he could, before proceeding to wash his handsome face with two wide forepaws. When the ginger tabby warrior looked back at Leafblade, she was lying down, her body stretched out. She looked beautiful, he reflected. The tom's cheeks grew hot, and he was glad that the tortoiseshell she-cat could not read his thoughts. He looked at her meekly for a moment, glancing downward at his paws when the slender warrioress looked up at him. He flicked his bushy tail. "Pretty good, yeah," he mewed, still distracted by his earlier thought. "Have you had that conversation with my father, yet? Y'know, the one we talked about?"

leafblade She grinned up at him before closing her leaf-green eyes. She was silent for a moment after he asked her about Runespell. Her tail had stopped moving and her chest was barely moving now. She looked still, too still, and before it could go on any longer, Leafblade stirred again. She pulled herself up, facing away from Flaxfeather. Her tortoiseshell she-cat's body was stiff as she looked down at her paws. "I haven't gotten the chance to....he's never alone. And I get too....." The pretty she-cat shivered slightly. "..nervous to ask him about it." She finished, leaning down to lick her chest fur down. Still facing away, Leaflbade's syes filled with tears slightly.
Oh, how she wished Runespell could just turn up and she could get it over with. Even like this, with her face beginning to moisten with the coming tears.

flaxfeather The fluffy ginger tabby tom noticed her shuffle her paws, beginning to look shady and awkward. He guessed that this meant she had not spoken to Runespell, before she even spoke. The ginger tom sighed a little, before reaching forward to touch her cheek with his nose. "It's hard, I get it. But you have to stop making excuses. The longer you leave it... Well. I should know. He is my father, after all." The tom smiled slightly at the tortoiseshell. He wished she didn't have to put up with Runespell. He wished the tabby could just get out of their faces. If only his father didn't hate her so much... How could he ever tell her how he felt if hatred poured onto her from all sides? Flaxfeather just wanted to pull her against his chest and hold her there, safe and protected. "He might be in the den right this minute. Why don't we have a look?"

leafblade Something seemed to flutter in her stomach at the tom's touch, her ears burning as she resisted the urge to press herself against the tom. Letting out a sigh, her ears flicked up at his comment. Yes....the longer she left it, the worse it was going to get. Her paws shuffled again as she looked up at the tom, nodding her head slowly. Leadblade's cheeks were slightly wet from the tears that had escaped her leaf-green eyes "Alright. Let's go then." The tortoiseshell murmured, tail flipping back and forth. Her eyes shot up to met Flaxfeather's, fear suddenly filling them. "Will you stay with me, Flaxfeather? Please?" Leafblade whispered, looking at her paws again.

flaxfeather The fluffy ginger tabby tom noticed the wetness of her cheeks and his expression softened. He knew how Leafblade felt about speaking to his father. Runespell wasn't always the most rational of cats. The young tom smiled encouragingly as Leafblade clambered to her paws. "That's it." The warrior's expression faltered a little as the slender tortoiseshell asked him to accompany her. He knew this was something she had to do, not him. He had not been involved in their disagreement, he did not know the in's and out's. He hoped that Leafblade was not asking him to fight her corner. But as his powder-green eyes met the she-cat's tense, almost frightened gaze, he exhaled. "Okay. But don't forget, I'm only there for moral support." He smile weakly at the she-cat, then led the way to the warriors' den. He poked his head inside, and as he had expected, found the lean, maple-coloured tabby pelt that was his father's. "Father? Wake up. Somebody want's to talk to you." runespell The lithe tom stirred as his youngest son's voice penetrated his dreams. He blinked open his one amber eye, the other side of his face pressed into the moss. The ugly scar which betrayed what the fox had done to his other eye was hidden. The warrior got to his paws at Flaxfeather's words. His gaze travelled past his son to the cat behind him, and his expression became stern. He didn't want to see, let alone talk to that cat. Runespell's mouth formed a straight line. Only his son's expression kept him pinned in place as the ginger tabby stepped back to allow Leafblade to step forwards. Runespell frowned. He wasn't stupid. He had noticed Flaxfeather getting closer to Leafblade. He only hoped that their relationship was not more than a close friendship. He didn't want a cat like Leafblade in his family, mothering his son's kits. It was unviable.

leafblade The she-cat felt a shiver run down her spine as she followed after Flaxfeather. Her paws shook visibly as she slipped into the warrior's den after the orange tom, standing behind him, close to his side as she looked to her paws, refusing to look up at her former mentor. She winced slightly when the male beside her mentioned her wanting to talk. Without noticing, Leafblade stepped back, then once Flaxfeather stepped away, she took a caustious step up, placing herself before the tom. Her eyes lifted, and instead of showing anger, the held pain. "Runespell...I'm sorry if I was ever....." She took in a deep breath, looking over at Flaxfeather. Her leaf green eyes locking with his.
"I'm sorry if I ever made you angry, if I ever did anything to embarass you. I'm sorry if I said something to make you upset." Leafblade whispered, not trusting her voice. "I feel very bad for treating Pecanshell the way I did. And the one thing I feel bad about was making you feel like you had another daughter" She whispered, her voice cracking at the end as she turned, heading towards the den entrance.

runespell The lean brown tabby and white tom listened silently to what Leafblade was saying, his amber gaze unreadable and emotionless. As the tortoiseshell turned to leave, he opened his mouth to speak. "Leafblade, I-" But the howling of a sudden gust of wind interrupted him. Runespell lifted his head to look up at the sky. Earlier, before he had fallen asleep, it had been watery blue. Now it was a dark and angry grey. And now snowflakes tainted the gale. Runespell realised what was coming with terror. A blizzard. He yowled for his son to come into the den, then whipped around. It seemed that Hazelfrost, Mistyvale and Leopardflight were all in the den. He didn't have time to look for Mousewind before the snowstorm tore through the den. The tom threw himself at his mate and daughters, pressing his body protectively against them. flaxfeather The fluffy oranger tabby followed his father's gaze. His powder-green eyes widened in shock at the sight of the angry sky and the snow in the wind. It wasn't pretty, sparkling snow. He'd never seen snow before, but it had been described to him. And this was not like anything he had ever imagined. At Runespell's call, Flaxfeather darted into the den. Then his heart thudded. Leafblade! Flaxfeather ran at the she-cat, grabbed her by the scruff, and dragged her into the den as easily as if she were a kit. "Don't do anything like that again! You mean too much to me! You-" He broke off. The wind was howling. He hoped the pretty tortoiseshell would think she hadn't heard him correctly.

leafblade The she-cat's leaf-green eyes widened as the wind first whipped past her muzzle, sending chills down her long back. She could feel strong teeth in her back as someone dragged her back into the den. She looked up, knowing who it was already. His words hit her with an over-whelming need to sooth his worry. After a moment, Leafblade pressed her body against his, licking him over the ear. His words....they meant the world. No one had said something like that. "I'm sorry. But it was so clear a few moments ago" She mewed, her body shaking as cold swept through her thin body. Her short fur wasn't meant for the cold. Her eyes widened suddenly as his words went through her head. She pulled back, looking at the tom.
"What.....? I mean what to you?" Leafblade asked, staring at the tom.

Mousewind She galloped through the forest her heart racing. The thundering gale was growing louder each second and she still wasn't home. Eyes like saucers, she aimed for the entrance and threw herself down it, almost being buffeted back out by the wind. She yowled as the snow began to fall, it was like a sheet. Scrambling, she made it, somehow to the warriors den.
Mousewind collapsed inside, soaked through from the snow and bitterly cold. Tears began to streak down her face but she wasn't hurt just terrified. "Grainstar" she whispered almost silently, but she knew her brother would be safe in the Leaders Den, he would be ok. But as she counted her family members her heart dropped. "Pecanshell! She's not here! Dad we have to find her!" she said, trying to dash back outside but the wind and snow was too strong now. She was forced back inside, sobbing. Her sister. They had only just found her. Where they going to lose her again? [/sub][/blockquote]

flaxfeather The fluffy orange tabby tom pressed his flank against the slender she-cat's. She felt as fragile and cold as china beneath his strong muscles. The tom wanted to wrap himself around her and protect her from harm. His green eyes were more worried than angry when he looked at her properly again. "What is it with you trying to get yourself killed, eh?" the tom mewed, exasperated, and only half joking. Flaxfeather looked at his paws, embarrased, as Leafblade mentioned what he had accidentally blurted in his moment of panic. He shuffled his wide forepaws for a moment. "You... Well... You... I don't want you to get hurt, you... You mean a lot to me. Really." His green eyes shone with emotion, before he looked up in alarm at his older sister's words. Pecanshell was missing? He didn't know his estranged sister very well, but he certainly did want her dead. The thought made his expression turn from intense to apalled. runespell The lean brown tabby tom lifted his head, his amber eyes sharp. He noticed Flaxfeather with Leafblade. His face was traced with relief at the sight of his son safe - he had lost too many members of his family to bear another death. So when Mousewind raced in, his heart slowed even more. But his eyes widened in terror at her words. The warrior leapt to his paws. He shoved his daughter back into the den, seeing her dither as though she was thinking of darting back out to look for Pecanshell. "No... Stay here." His eyes grazed his family once, before he twisted from the den in an instant, gone into the white.

leafblade Leafblade looked up as she heard what Mousewind was saying. Her eyes widened. Yeah...she didn't like Pecanshell too much, but still..she meant something to Flaxfeather and Runespell, and that's what mattered to her most. She pressed her shiverig body against the fluffed-out tom's, letting out a small cough as her airways were suddenly cut off. Leafblade's body felt weak as she hide her face in the tom's neck fur. "I'm sorry. You mean much to me also, Flaxfeather" She whispered quietly and then it dawned on her. This emotion. The way her father had described the way he felt about her mother. She gasped as she jumped, slightly away from the tom.
"Flaxfeather...I think I love you" Leafblade whispered, not trusting her voice. Her wide green eyes flashed up to his, confusion and the thought of rejection clear on her face.

flaxfeather Flaxfeather pressed his cheek against the she-cat's. He draped his fluffy tail over her back, his eyes gleaming with emotion. At her words, he turned to stare at her. She loved him? What? Flaxfeather could do nothing but frown at her for a long while, before he opened his mouth to speak. "I... I... Father!" The thickly-furred tom leapt to his paws as Runespell left the den. He glanced at Mousewind, knowing that the scarred she-cat would probably leapt after their father. He shoved his way out of the den, the snow battering him. "Father! Father!" The tom ran into the white, his face screwed up. runespell A few moments after Flaxfeather left the den, Runespell staggered back in through the ferns. His tabby coat was lined with white snow. He looked windswept, bewildered. His amber eyes were huge and sore-looking. Runespell stared at Mousewind. "I... I couldn't find her... I followed her scent to the MoonClan border, then I lost it..." The brown and white striped tom shook himself, snow scattering everywhere. He then stared at Leafblade. His eyes shifted either side of her. "Where's Flaxfeather?" He looked as though he were on the verge of panic. The warrior's eyes bulged. He pressed himself against Mousewind. "Where is he?" he demanded.
// Raver, I was thinking Leafers could do after Flaxers. She could find him in a hollow tree trunk because he got lost. They could talk, then they could mate (obviously we don't act anything). That's when she get's pregnant. Flaxfeather then runs away. He decides to stand by her when he finds out she's pregnant, but he doesn't realise how much he loves her until she has the kits. Is that okay?

leafblade It took the tortoiseshell a full ten seconds to register that Flaxfeather was gone from her side. Her eyes wide, she turned, then followed his scent to the den entrance. Leafblade was about to rush out when Runespell brust into the den, knocking her over. The she-cat flipped onto her paws, eyes flicking towards the tom as he spoke to her. "I don't know! He ran out after you!" She meowed, her green eyes flashing towards the den entrance. "But I'm sure as Hell not gonna allow him to be out there alone" The she-cat growled before launching herself at the den entrance, disappearing into the white blanket.
Her green eyes were wide as she skidded into the forest, looking franticly for the fluffy-orange tom. Leafblade lifted her face up, only to get blasted with snow and push her back agianst the a tree. Her tail lashed back and forth as she skirted around the edge of the large tree, coming to find that that truck was hollow. And held orange fur.
That made her stop dead in her tracks, turning and pushing her way into the hollow tree. "Flaxfeather.....That you?" She asked, her voice quiet as she lifted a paw to touch the orange puff
