indigohawk The CloudClan camp was peaceful. A bluebird fluttered overhead, singing a plaintive tune. The scent of new life, in the form of Tawnysky's kits, filled the camp. And it was surprisingly warm, despite the coming winter. But all that was about to be shattered. Chaos was hovering only a metre or so away from the camp. Indigohawk had taken the long way into the camp, to avoid getting Dragonflydance's body wet. But as he padded into the camp, tears streaking his young face, and placed her down, she looked limp and dejected as any discarded dead creature. Blood still spluttered from the neat wound on her neck, and her crystal pelt, usually so clean, was matted with dirt and dust. The tom threw back his head. "Dragonflydance is dead!" The tom then huddled over his sister, tears dripping on her fur. skytomb The scent of blood curled into his nostrils, waking him up. The elderly tom blinked a few times. It took him a while to sort his eyes out these days, They were pale and cloudy, and he was gradually losing his eyesight. The once-mighty tom heaved himself to his paws, his shoulders shaking violently. Skytomb hobbled from the den, slowly. He pushed through the ferns, his bones aching and creaking. His yellow eyes opened wide at Indigohawk's words. He could make out his younger son, leant over a whiteish blur. He staggered over, his paws slipping on the grass. "No." The tom's face became streaked with tears at the sight of his oldest daughter, dirty and dead in the grass. "Not my Dragonflydance."

jadekit It was horrible. Waking and smelling death as if it was in camp. Jadekit's dark green eyes opened slowly as the smell drifted into the nursery. She slipped away from Gannetkit's side, coming to the den entrance, her eyes widening as he saw the white pelt with Indigohawk over it.
Dragonflydance.
Jadekit bolted out of the den, racing towards the medicine cat's side, pushing under the white she-cat's brother and pushing her nose into the dirt encrusted fur. The small tabby had always loved watching Dragonflydance when she wasn't paying attention. Herbs had always amazed her, able to treat wounds and illness. She smiled at the thought before pulling away. First her father, now this? What else was Starclan going to take from her?

[ooc]Is there anyone left still alive from the patrol? Cos (and i haven't done killed her yet) Skyflight is also dead and will need to be brought back to camp ^^.
[bic]Dewstep Dewstep awoke in the nursery to the sound of the horrible words being shouted outside. She saw Jadekit leap up and leave the nest and scrambled up to follow her, swiftly checking that the other four kits were ok. The tiny she-cat trotted swiftly outside, her eyes welling with tears. Dragonflydance had always been there for her, especially at the death of Oleandergaze. She had been an amazing medicine cat. Licking her daughter gently on her head, wincing as she saw so much of her mate in her daughters hunched over frame, her pelt so similar to his. She looked over to Skytomb and Indigohawk. "I know how you're feeling, I'm so sorry. If there's anything I can do....." she trailed off, knowing not much would help the cats now. Death was a terrible thing to bear. Carnationkit At the yell of agonysing grief from outside Carnationkit immediately got to her paws, following her sister and mother out of the nursery. She came to a stop beside Dewstep, for once not saying anything. She had seemed to have to bear so much death already in her young life and it had matured her somewhat. She looked up to her mother, seeing the sadness in the little she-cats eyes so huddling up close, rubbing her similar pelt against Dewsteps. [/sub]

Hailthunder My heart's a graveyard baby...A small white figure with bat-like ears flew from the warriors den. His bright yellow eyes widened and became wet. He dashed to the limp form of his sister. "Dragonflydance! No! Why? Why?!" He cried, falling to the ground beside her. He buried his face in her fur, tears falling onto her white fur. He couldn't believe it. His sister, his beautiful, loving sister, was gone. He stood up, snuffling, and ran to his brother, pressing his face into his chest, the highest part he could reach, and continued to cry.

Icelily
No... Not her. She was so young.. These thoughts flew through the mind of the once elegant elder, Icelily, as she raced across the clearing to her dead daughter's side. "Noo! Not Dragonflydance!! Why her?!?" She threw herself against Skytomb and sobbed quietly into his fur, shaking her head and moaning. Her eldest daughter, dead.
MIDNIGHTSKY
Midnightsky entered into the camp, carrying Skyflight, looking grim. He was patrolling alone, when he heard the fighting. When he arrived however, no one was there, except for Skyflight. As he entered into the camp, however, he realised she wasn't the only dead. He dropped Skyflight lightly, and called to Dragonflydance, then he turned to see what was distressing his family. But it didn't take long for him to find out. Lying in the centre of the clamour was a lovely white pelt, gleaming under the red pools of blood. It was nerly impossible for him to tell who it was, and he could only be sure from her scent. "No Starclan.. Why her..." He moaned, leaning his head to lick her neck. "You killed all my littermates...." He murmured quietly, before resting his head against his sister's for a moment. Then he stood. "I'll go find Eternalpaw." He meowed, needing to get away. As he entered the Medicine den, he called softly, "Eternalpaw, you're needed." Before padding away and wakign the rest of his siblings.[/sub]
CLOAKEDCLAW
Cloakedclaw felt his brother's nudge, and saw a head jerk, before he was gone. He stood, nervous, and roused Ribbontail. "Something's happened. I don't know, but it can't be good." He padded out of the den, blinking in the light. But when he opened his eyes, he saw the devastation. "Dragonflydance! NO!" And, racing across the clearing, he reached his family in two bounds. "What happened?" He asked weakly to anyone who listened. Then he pressed his nose against her cooling pelt. "She was so innocent.." He whined quietly, tears dribbling down his face.[/sub]
STRIPEDFEATHER
Stripedfeather awoke suddenly, feeling her brother nudge her. "My patrol isn't until halfway through the morning." She moaned, snuggling deeper into her nest. But she opened her eyes abruptly when she heard her brother whisper urgently to Ribbontail. She woke Mountainwind by tickling his nose with her tail, before muttering into his ear, "Wake up, something's happened." She then found the deputy, and Midnightsky's mate, Fadedmemory, and woke her up. "Middy's gonna need you, something terrible happened. I don't know what, though." She padded out of the den and followed Cloakedclaw. But she choked. "Not Draggy!" She screeched, racing over. "No! What happened to her?" She demanded, echoing Cloakedclaw. She then noticed Indigohawk looking bloody. "Indy, what happened to Draggy?" She mewed meekly, pressing against Icelily for comfort.

. Emeraldpaw . . I wanna be inside your heaven, take me to the place you cry from . The dark tabby fae had been sorting through the herbs that she knew about when she heard crying outside, her emerald green orbs glowed with worry as Midnightsky called for her, she could tell there was great sorrow in his voice. The small female's white paws carried her slender body out of the beautiful den and into the large clearing where a group of cats surrounded something. Her green eyes spotted the bloody body of Skyflight before she even glanced at the body her clan-mates surrounded. She quickly checked over the lifeless fae to see if she actually was dead, 'May StarClan guide you safely to their paws.' Emeraldpaw knew this would upset Stormstar greatly, but her attention went quickly to where a large family stood with a smaller family. The slim tabby wondered where her mentor was if all her family was here, she knew it had been way longer then it should have to stay out. Emeraldpaw cautiously made her way towards the group, 'Skytomb, did someone die?' Her green eyes flickered across her mentors families faces, they were all sad and everyone's was filled with tears. Her orbs flickered finally to the white body in the center, the beautiful pelt was caked in blood around the neck. A small noise came from the back of her throat as she stared at the fae's beautiful face, a small tear trickled down her pretty cheek. Emeraldpaw closed her green orbs, only to see the bloody body of Dragonflydance. She could feel water dripping down her face as small whimpers came from her closed mouth, what would happen to her now? Now that Dragonflydance was gone, 'Miss D-dragonflydance... what have you done?'

indigohawk The muscular blue-grey tom stared at his paws as the clan gradually padded from their dens. First it was Dewstep and her kits. The queen's condolences bounced uselessly from his ears, and he simply stared at her with round, kitlike sapphire eyes. He blinked at his parents as they mourned their daughter, and as Hailthunder appeared, wailing, he wrapped his tail around his smaller brother's neck loosely to comfort him. As Cloakedclaw and Stripedfeather questioned in, he stared at his paws. "I... I... I..." He winced at the sight of Skyflight's body. Another victim of their strupidity. He felt tears fall on his paws and shut his mouth. He couldn't answer their questions, he simply couldn't. He just wanted to curl up like a kit and cry. This was all his fault. haloheart Haloheart missed her younger brother's wail, but the movement of Dewstep and her kits disturbed the queen. She blinked open her sky blue eyes with a yawn. She then shuffled drowsily in her nest. What was going on? She could hear screeching, and crying. Faintly alarmed, the she-cat heaved herself to her paws. This had become much harder these days, with a heavily swollen stomach to lug around. She squeezed out of the nursery, huffing and puffing. Her eyes widened at what she saw. She waddled over to join her family as fast as possible, but ended up stumbling and landing sprawled beside Dewstep. "No, not Dragonflydance." Her voice was soft with disbelief and pain. skytomb The old tom felt tears seep from his eyes. He pressed against his mate as she flew from the den towards him. He licked her shoulder sadly, his sapphire eyes wet and miserable. He watched as his children pooled around him, wailing and crying. He felt as though his heart was splitting in two.

kitewhistle. He stumbled into camp, limping on a wounded back leg, blood seeping steadily from a wound to his back. It almost seemed unreal now, everything had happened so fast and so quickly. One moment the little gray and white apprentice had been clawing at his spine, advancing towards his neck, the next Ghostlystar had been laughing like a madman and the BrightClan leader had ended up slashing Kitewhistle's back leg before delivering a crushing blow to Briarpaw that sent her flying across the clearing back onto BrightClan territory. It was obvious that she had died almost instantly, the fear and rage had been frozen on her face even after she fell still.
And then Ghostlystar had fallen, and his black coat and Dragonflydance's curled together formed a strange, soothing symbol. It had dawned on him then that, perhaps, this was more than just meetings. They had loved eachother, he had realized.
But that didn't change the fact that he had ultimately killed Dragonflydance and members of his own Clan, even one (maybe it was the fluffy apprentice that had attacked him?) whom Kitewhistle had gathered to be the leader's own granddaughter. The black-muzzled tomcat shuffled towards Dragonflydance's body, pressing his muzzle into her neck fur. "Thank ya fer bein' there fer me." he murmured into her cold, unhearing ear before stepping back respectfully to let her family mourn her death. There were so many peices to this puzzle left unsolved, but now that both sides of the story were gone, dead, there was no way of finishing it. If only Kitewhistle knew how strongly this puzzle could have affected his outlook on life...
