Juniperkit has a very elegant frame. She's thin and lithe, and her kit fur is short instead of poofy. Her paws are perfectly sized for his thin legs, and her tail is long. Her fur is silky now, but when she grows up, it will become bristly. Her toes are large and her claws are smaller than usual. Her haunches are filled with an unseen strength, and Juniperkit is good at running. Her neck is tough and powerful, and her limbs are strong. Her head is rather flat, but her muzzle is round and cute. Her eyes are wide and are not indented that deeply into her head. Her eyes are large for her head and wide. The insides are a pale pink with strange white hair. Juniperkit has a pale ginger head. The area around her eyes is white, and so is her muzzle. Her eyes are a deep emerald green and they swirl with complex emotions. She has dark mascara lines on her head. Her whiskers are long and elegant. The fur on her body is a deep ginger. Her paws are a sandy mix of ginger and white, the same as her underbelly. The fur on her back is a deep orange lined with even deeper orange stripes.

Juniperkit is the shy kit in her litter. Whereas Galaxykit is noble and Chaffinchkit is popular, Juniperkit tends to stay by herself. She dislikes crowds because the ginger she-cat tends to get nervous. She enjoys alone time with her brother Galaxykit, though she loves the rest of her siblings as well. Though Juniperkit is a loner, she isn’t like her brother Koikit. Koikit is sneaky and is jealous of his siblings, while Juniperkit knows she has friends and is content with them. She doesn’t stand up for herself, but she can’t take cats saying bad things about her families. Juniperkit has a strong sense of wrong and right, but she’s shy about showing it. She doesn’t think that her opinions are very important compared to other and older cat’s opinions. Juniperkit loves spending time with Galaxykit. She’s very close to him. Being shy, Juniperkit relies on him to get her out of tough situations. Though she’s rather shy, Juniperkit is extremely loyal to her Clan. She shudders at the thought of a cross-clan relationship because she just doesn’t think it would work. There’s a part of her that will always put her siblings before anyone else.

It was by chance that Duskheart (then Night Tree) fell across some bad luck as a youngin', when his sister and father fell ill at once. Night Tree managed to get his two family to stumble to SerenityClan so they could receive help. Jasminestar took them in, and the three stayed in the medicine cat's den. Night Tree was the same age as Petalrain was, then Petalkit. She had longed for a new friend outside of her siblings. They took to each other, and became fast friends. They stayed close, even when tragedy struck both of them in the form of deaths in their families.

Night Tree longed to become a warrior, just like Petalpaw was training to be. After she was made a warrior, Jasminestar let him train for a couple of moons, and soon he was a real part of SerenityClan. They had already started to fall in love by then. It wasn't until moons later after becoming mates did Petalrain find out about being pregnant.

Petalrain gave birth to four kits: Galaxykit, the leader; Chaffinchkit, the popular one; Koikit, the sneak; and Juniperkit, the runt.
