through the monsoon [/size][/blockquote] Locustcircle «« beyond the world to the end of time [/blockquote] Gray paws thumped heavily in the warriors' den, showing his inexperience at becoming a newly-made warrior tom. Locustcircle swallowed and ran over to Elmleaf's bed, pawing his friend's side eagerly. "Hey, Elmleaf, c'mon, wake up, I need t'talk to you," the lilac-pointed male said, blinking his deep-blue eyes down at the calico. His brows depressed somewhat and his tail flashed side to side as he waited for the other tomcat to answer his call. This would be awkward telling him this but he wanted to know Elmleaf's opinion on it.

elmleaf xxxxxxxx Elmleaf hadn't slept a peep since becoming a warrior only the day before. He was still oh so excited about being able to be free from training and be able to sleep in all day if he wanted to! As you know, Elmleaf could sleep very well. Lately, thoughts had been bugging him, though. Thoughts he needed to get off his chest to Locustcircle... Maybe that wouldn't be such a good idea. He huffed sadly, staring at the wall of the weird den. Locustcircle's nest was quite empty and his scent was stale. Elmleaf new he had to get up some time and as he was about to, he felt a eager paw prodding against his calico side. He didn't even have to think. The loud paws and rushed excited voice had to be Locustcircle. Immediately, Elmleaf sprang up from his position and sat in front of his friend. Smiling slightly, he nodded. "Yes, I need to talk to you, too. But you first." Elmleaf waited eagerly for what Locustcircle had to say.

through the monsoon [/size][/blockquote] Locustcircle «« beyond the world to the end of time [/blockquote] His expression brightened when Elmleaf arose. Locustcircle sighed and sat down, curling his gray-tipped tail across his paws. "Um...I wanted to know something. What...are your thoughts on girls?" He blinked his blues and braced himself for the conversation. Locustcircle had been friends with Elmleaf since they were young apprentices but cats were unpredictable by nature. How would Elmleaf react to him saying that he liked the other...like...really liked him.

elmleaf xxxxxxxx The question was somewhat surprising in two ways. One was that Elmleaf never really thought of girls that much. He probably wouldn't be able to tell a beautiful she-cat from an ugly one. No one ever told him the difference and he really didn't care either. But for some reason he knew in his gut that he didn't like girls all that much anyway. The other thing that surprised him was that he was going to ask Locustcircle the same thing, or something along that line. "Well... I don't really know that many girls... I mean, like my sisters and all but I... guess they are alright." And then he added quickly, "I don't love them or anything." His voice almost seemed rushed and louder toned than usual but he took no notice. Why would Locustcircle want to know this? Why would Elmleaf? "Why?"

through the monsoon [/size][/blockquote] Locustcircle «« beyond the world to the end of time [/blockquote] He shifted and hesitated, slowly pulling forward and placing his muzzle against the calico's. His eyes glimmered in doubt before they closed and he ended up kissing Elmleaf like forbidden lovers hiding between a fence of laurel and ivy. Locustcircle pulled away gradually, bending his ears back and touching his mouth with his paw. "That's...quite the opposite of how I feel about you." The gray tom swallowed and awaited what the calico would say. "If...if that's not cool with you...I totally understand. It is a bit weird and all. Um...I should probably go..." He began to mumble. The tom had never felt like this before. The Clan wouldn't understand him; they'd call him a freak.

elmleaf xxxxxxxx It all happened so fast. First Locustcircle was sitting a bit away from Elmleaf and then he was right there, his sweet calming breath making the calico's skin tingle. He shivered slightly, though he was growing warmer by the second. The feeling of his best friend so close to him had never been more exhilarating. He'd loved it, been craving it, and he wanted more now. But he couldn't. He couldn't love Locustcircle like he did... But he did love Locustcircle more than anything, like it has been before. If was different now. It was a different love. Elmleaf loved Locustcircle. This is why he couldn't even control a giggle when the lilac colored seal-point pulled away. It was almost inaudible, but he felt as though the den was on fire he was so warm. The sweet voice brought him back. No, Locustcircle didn't love she-cats. He loved toms. He loved Elmleaf. "No, no!" he gasped, pale green eyes growing with rising terror. "Don't go, Locustcircle..." Elmleaf held his breath and moved a bit closer to Locustcircle, but he didn't know what else to do... His nervousness was taking a hold of him... How could this work? But Elmleaf didn't care.
"I...I love you," he whispered so quietly that Elmleaf wasn't even sure he heard it himself.

through the monsoon [/size][/blockquote] Locustcircle «« beyond the world to the end of time [/blockquote] Adrenaline throbbed through him hotly, almost painfully. Locustcircle let out a small gasp at what Elmleaf said, starting to smile at the squeaking giggle the calico gave. The Siamese nestled against the other and swallowed a lump in his throat, purring softly. However, after showing his affection, he soon became cautious. "What will the others say? Elmleaf, I think we should leave here..." He bent his ears back and looked over at the other tom. "What do you think?"

elmleaf xxxxxxxx The affection and comfort that Locustcircle gave Elmleaf made him strong enough and, I guess you could say, brave enough to return the gesture. As the lilac Siamese nestled into his side, Elmleaf nuzzled the top of his head and covered it in gentle loving licks. Anyone passing by would've either be disturbed or... Probably disturbed of what they saw, but at the time, Elmleaf didn't care. Funny how things change in seconds. They both pulled away from their embrace to discover that there was a world out there that wasn't just this one inside the empty warrior's den. There were cats out that that would find this disgusting and weird and totally outrageous. "Locustcircle, I wish I could say that I don't care what they think about us... But I do care," the calico mewed quietly, sighing softly. He rested his head gently on Locustcircle's shoulder and looked out at the Clan before him. "I think you're right. We must leave to be able to stay together."

through the monsoon [/size][/blockquote] Locustcircle «« beyond the world to the end of time [/blockquote] He nodded and returned the licks on Elmleaf's ear, feeling his skin burn as he blushed. His white-gray fur turned a bit salmon on the cheeks and ears. "Come on. Let's go tell your family and then get out of here." His pupils dilated as the adrenaline kept roaring through his veins. He leapt over to Lycorisbreeze and Quailwhistle, padding them. "H-hey, wake up." Locustcircle meowed softly, trying to get them up without waking anyone else.

"Uh... Mnuh, what?"
The sleepy fae blinked herself awake, surprised to see Locustcircle standing over her. She barely knew the tom but he seemed to be one of Elmleaf's only friends, from what she could gather (Which wasn't always much). Rubbing a paw over her running nose and making a mental note while doing so to go see Cloudedsky about that, she gazed blankly at Locustcircle. "Huh, Locustcircle? What's wrong... do I gots dawn patrol or sumfin'...?" she asked sleepily, dipping her nose back onto her paws but keeping her eyes at least remotely alert. You know, not to look rude. She already was half-asleep...

through the monsoon [/size][/blockquote] Locustcircle «« beyond the world to the end of time [/blockquote] He jerked his head over to Elmleaf. "Elmleaf and I are going to run away from BrightClan and we wanted to say g'bye," he said, trying to smile and failing for the most part. Locustcircle sighed and turned to the calico. "I don't know what to say. They're your family, not mine." He stepped back to let his mate speak.

elmleaf xxxxxxxx It was funny to Elmleaf as he turned around to face the inside of the darkened warriors den that there were other cats here. He'd been so caught up with Locustcircle and what was going on in his own little mind to care of the snoozing warriors surrounding them. Each one he examined quickly and they all seemed asleep, which was good. He nodded and flashed a quick smile over to his love, before following him to the beds of Quailwhistle and Lycorisbreeze. Surprisingly, dopy Lycorisbreeze woke first. He watched her sadly, knowing he would probably miss her the most. Sighing, the calico padded over to sit in front of his sister and bent his head down so that it was in level with Lycorisbreeze's. "Lycorisbreeze... Locustcircle is right. We're leaving BrightClan... because... Because we are in love. I know that sounds weird to you, but I want you to make sure the others find out. I love you guys a lot and I will miss you," Elmleaf mewed softly and stood as he finished. Nodding to Locustcircle to show that he was done, he turned to Lycorisbreeze once more. "Good bye."

through the monsoon [/size][/blockquote] Locustcircle «« beyond the world to the end of time [/blockquote] Locustcircle nodded mutely and turned away, heading out the door of the warrior's den. The tail of the sleek Siamese rippled side to side before disappearing, silently beckoning Elmleaf to him. Locustcircle looked back and smiled at the calico with shimmering cerulean eyes before continuing on.

quailwhistle Her dreams had been haunted ever since Auroradance's death. So when Locustcircle's nose touched her side she awoke with a loud gasp. The dark brown tabby was shaking as she took in who had woken her. Her lime eyes grew irritated, to hide her fear. "Wh-why did you wake me?" she mewed. The she-cat's eyes widened at what Locustcircle said. "Elmleaf's not leaving. Don't be so silly." Her prim tones faded as her brother confirmed the other tom's words. Shock rippled through her. How could Elmleaf love... Love another tom? She felt emotions fighting inside of her. Part of her was disgusted. What was he playing at? This wasn't natural! But he was her brother. Quailwhistle padded tom him and touched her nose to the corner of his mouth. "Don't go, Elmleaf," she mewed, her eyes wide and shining. But as Locustcircle turned to leave, she knew the calico would follow. It was no use. He loved the other tom more than he loved she and Lycorisbreeze.

lycorisbreeze. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Now she was awake. Nothing could have jerked her to her senses faster than that had. She didn't say anything at first, but her shocked expression stuck as Elmleaf admitted that he was going to leave. "B-but, why -- what are you -- that's not even --" a stream of unfinished phrases rolled off her tongue as she shook her head in utter shock, her eyes glued on Elmleaf. He couldn't leave! He had just became a warrior! He couldn't... he couldn't just leave herself and Quailwistle like that! What was so special about Locustcircle? What was it about the siamese that made Elmleaf want to be with him more than his own sisters? Soon big, wet tears were rolling down her face, and she stood like Quailwhistle, on the offensive.
She didn't bother to keep her voice down as she sobbed out word after word of hopeless persuasion. "N-no... No... Elmleaf! No! No, no no! Y-y-you can't... you can't just... you can't just get up and l-leave like that! Y-you can't do this... do this to me and Quailwhistle! And you can't... 'cause... 'cause I need a brother... a brother like you... And..." Her words were finally cut off by tears, and she pressed her muzzle into Quailwhistle's shoulder, searching for comfort in her sister but finding none. She needed him...

elmleaf xxxxxxxx Why? Why did his sisters have to make this so hard for him. Elmleaf could have assumed that this would be hard on them and on him but they made it so hard for the calico to just leave. He loved them just as much as Locustcircle. But he needed a change. He hated warrior life and having to fight. He just wanted to be happy and Locustcircle made him happy. How could he just leave his sisters? Panicked, he glanced of at his mate before looking at his sisters. Quailwhistle was desperate while Lycorisbreeze was just plain a mess. They needed him here? He never knew that they loved him so much and that they needed him here. He didn't know what to do. Tears began rolling down his cheeks and he tried to fight back sobs. "I l-love you guys so m-much... And this hurts me more than you can imagine... B-But you know I hate warrior life... I always have... And Locustcircle makes me happy... I'll never stop missing you... But I know this is right. I'm so... So so sorry..." he was whispering by the end, tears still rolling down his calico fur. He wasn't having second thoughts... But he was already missing his sisters. "Maybe I'll visit some time... But please just don't be mad. I love you both... Please, tell Alderthorn that even though he hurt me many times, I love him, too. Tell Turtlestep I love him as well. I'll miss you all and I'm sorry. But it must be this way." And with that, he followed Locustcircle toward the camp entrance.

quailwhistle The sleek dark brown tabby's mouth formed a straight line. Elmleaf was the best with their volatile sister. How could he just up and leave like this? It was so selfish! What was so special about Locustcircle, anyway? As Lycorisbreeze buried her muzzle in her shoulder, Quailwhistle stroked her back with her snowy tail tip, but she knew it wouldn't bring her as much comfort as if it had been Elmleaf. Her face crumpled. She knew Lycorisbreeze probably wished it was her leaving. "Well, goodbye, then." She spoke to her brother as though he were a stranger, her lime eyes wide. She was still begging him to stay, with her gaze, but she knew it was hopeless. He had made up his mind, and was going to leave them.
