The sun was rising once more on the camp of Serenityclan. Diskko had already lost count of how many times the sun had risen while he had been here. But he knew it was too many.
Diskko had refused to sleep in the warriors den (surely they would be uncomfortablewith an outsider among them?), and instead had made a nest in a shadowy corner of the camp. He usually caught his own food also, but sometimes he would take a skinny mouse or vole from the fresh-kill pile. He didn't interact much with the other cats, but he observed.
He learned many new things, such as the fact that a mother would do anything for their kits. They would even die for them. (He couldn't help but think wistfully of Jasminestar.) He also learned about mates. Diskko had, of course, known that one could take on a partner and produce offspring. However, it seemed to be more complicated than that. He felt a little lonely when he saw two mates grooming each other after a meal, or when they strolled around camp together.
Diskko waited until the sun's rays had reached the camp to get up and stretch. He had worn out his welcome, and it was time to return back to wandering. Alone, He thought with a sigh. That was the one thing that he hated about wandering. It was so lonesome. But he couldn't stay any longer.
After he quickly groomed himself, he trotted towards the leader's den at the foot of Lilac Hill. He poked his head inside, and hoped the leader was awake already. Clearpool? Are you awake? [/size][/blockquote]

Runningcloud // "She's not here." A husky growl echoed from behind Diskko.
Runningcloud was there, towering over the tom. She narrowed her eyes and tilted her head, examining him for a moment before sighing slightly and sitting down. She offered him a soft smile. "Is something wrong? My warriors aren't giving you grief, are they?" While she wasn't deputy, she was certainly the mother of the group and she felt responsible whenever a guest was treated without the respect they deserved.
"She's at the MoonShard to talk to StarClan. She'll be home later on. May I help you with something?" We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days... Through the fire and the flames we carry on! [/blockquote]

Aetherkit had been outside, enjoying the sunrise in silent pleasure. Of course, he never dared stray far from the nursery without another kit, and every so often he popped his little brown head into the gloomy darkness of the nursery to check that his mother and siblings were still safe and sound. He just sat, enjoying the sun, enjoying the warm wind. He had been looking at the blazing red sky for so long, however, that when he looked at the ground his eyes began to hurt. Nevertheless, Aetherkit found something interesting: a little leaf, crinkled and brown and dried-up and looking rather lonely, with it's stem tangled in the nursery brambles.
"H-h-hello," he murmured, tapping the leaf with a paw. It came loose at once and he gasped, trotting after the leaf as it tumbled effortlessly about the camp. He thought he knew where he was going and how far from the nursery he was gone, but apparently he didn't, because what he thought was the elder's den had turned out to be the leader's den, and he bumped into a cat he didn't recognize outside of it. He smelt funny underneath a faint coating of SerenityClan smell, but even Aetherkit knew that he wasn't Clanborn. The little tomkit jumped back, nearly landing on Runningcloud's massive paw, which made him squeak in terror. His tan-pelted body curled into a tiny arch as he made his way away from the scary duo, one tiny pawstep at a time. "S-s-s-sorry! I'm sorry... I didn't m-m-mean to... Please don't tell my mama that I was o-o-outside..." he murmured, expecting a scolding. [/blockquote]

Diskko whipped around and came face-to-face with Runningcloud, the clan's medicine cat. Her large presence scared some, but to Diskko, it was a small comfort, especially when he remembered that Jasminestar had trusted her with her life. Why hello, Runningcloud. He frowned when she mentioned Clearpool's absence. Oh, gone to become a leader? Good for her, but bad for me. He shook his head when the femme asked if anything was wrong. Oh, no, I have been treated well here. But, I cannot stay here. This is not my home.
He looked past her and saw a young kit stumble inside the leader. He shyed away from him, and bumped into the large cat's paw. He squealed and murmured an apology. Diskko chuckled a little and his voice became sweet. Hello, youngin', He said. Looking back at Runningcloud, he continued on. I am a wanderer at heart. I love your Clan, but I can't live here. He sighed a little. [/size][/blockquote]

Runningcloud // She smiled gently. "Oh...well, be safe, Diskko," she said softly, reaching out and patting his head. She blinked when she was bumped into and looked down, her expression softening further. "Oh dear little Aetherkit, you're fine with me." She pulled the tomkit close, hugging him gently against her soft, warm fur. "You'll catch chill staying out there by your lonesome. Stay here."
Light-green eyes lifted up to the tom. "Well, if you must, you must. I bid you a good journey," she said gently, saddened a bit.We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days... Through the fire and the flames we carry on! [/blockquote]

. Lionkit . . Through the eye of the storm . Swampy brown and green orbs glowed with excitement as he watched the visiting loner and their medicine cat, Runningcloud, with a playful vibe coming off of his large amber paws. He angled his large ears toward where the two cats were talking, his attention was drawn to the little Aetherkit that had been outside of the nursery. With a quick burst of adrenaline the large amber male sprinted out almost toppling over his paws when he made a leap out of the warm den. His large paws hitting the ground with what seemed like a loud thud in the almost empty clearing, his element of surprise was ruined though he was trying to sneak up on the Diskko that had been talking to Runningcloud. The large ball of fur finally reached the male and slid under him, even though he actually tripped he would never admit it. The amber male started batting at the loners legs with his big amber paws, never unsheathing his clear sharp claws. 'I got you, Diskko! You can't escape the all mighty Lionstar!' Lionkit growled playfully not really listening what the two older felines were talking about.

Diskko blushed at Runningcloud's gentle attitude. Thank you, Runningcloud. Your blessing means so much to me. He smiled. Jasminestar told me all about you. She said she trusted you with her life. And that you helped her keep the clan up and running. Before he could say more, he felt little paws batter at his legs. He almost lost his stance, but managed to keep from squishing the kit. Lionstar! He looked down beneath his belly and saw Lionkit. Ah, but I can! He jumped up a little (the ceiling in the den was pretty low) and twisted around. Instead of pulling off a battle move (which he couldn't do to a kit, nor anyway else, anyways), he tickled Lionkit's flank and stomach. I got you now! He grinned as youthful energy filled his eager limbs. [/size][/blockquote]

deerkit It took a lot of time before Deerkit had plucked up the courage to follow Lionkit and Aetherkit from the nursery. Her slender frame slipped from the nursery as Lionkit leapt on Diskko and Aetherkit was busy apologizing. The small silver tortoiseshell crept closer, eying Lionkit nervously. She stopped a metre or so away from Aetherkit, but firmly away from Runningcloud. She was still terrified of the medicine, uncharacteristically so. All of the kits of SerenityClan loved, and were loved by Runningcloud. Deerkit was somehow different. Perhaps it was just her irrational fear of any cat bigger than her father. The small cat glanced from cat to cat, her pretty liquid brown eyes watery and her expression nervous.

Aetherkit almost cried out when Runningcloud wrapped her tail around him, stumbling over his paws as she pulled him close to her side. "Okay..." he murmured, peeking out from over the medicine cat's fluffy tail to see Lionkit attacking Diskko, obviously not hurting him but still looking rather silly. Diskko was more than three or four times Aetherkit and Lionkit's sizes and this intimidated Aetherkit as Diskko pinned the longhaired kitten, wondering if he was hurting Lionkit. His wide eyes travelled to Deerkit, a she-kit a bit older than himself. Had they all been out of the nursery? Wouldn't someone notice? He shook himself, half-tripping and half-jumping over Runningcloud's paw as he made his way back to the nursery. "I'm gonna go back before mama wakes up," he mewed hastily, clumsily padding back to the nursery with his heart thumping. So many cats bigger than him! So many rough kits! Even camp seemed to be a scary place for Aetherkit without his brother to protect him. He snuggled in next to Amaranthkit and Toxickit, trying to fall back alseep and hoping that no one else would come looking for him... even though it might be fun to play with them... [/blockquote]

Runningcloud // She blushed like Diskko, shaking her head. "I will have lived through three leaders when Clearstar returns. Just because things change doesn't mean my loyalty should waver. I have always kept SerenityClan from crumbling. StarClan gives me the strength to carry on." She smiled and then looked over at Lionkit. Runningcloud laughed heartily at 'Lionstar'.
"Lionstar, is this how you treat a guest?" she asked, giving him a mock-stern look that melted away into a uncontrolled smile. Then Aetherkit was crawling away from her.
"Alright, honey, but go straight to the nursery." She nodded to Aetherkit and then spotted Deerkit. Knowing the she-kit was afraid of her, she didn't make any sudden movements, instead lowering herself on her belly.

He cried, pouncing onto Lion'star' and tumbling over with the tom-kit, a laugh coming from his fairly-large body. Diskko laughed as one, no, two kits and a queen also entered the Leader's Den. Itwas getting awfully crowded. It was about this loner left. He slithered away from Lionkit and let Autumnkit tussle with him. I really do admire you, Runningcloud, He mewed. He would have put more meaning into it, but it was hard to focus with kits buzzing around you and a queen asking for a talk. He sighed. I really should go. I have a day of traveling ahead of me. Give Clearpool... I mean, star, my regards. He backed out of the den, trying not to bump into any moving obstacles. Bye! He stumbled backwards out into the middle of the clearing. The sun had leapt higher into the sky, but he felt no warmer. He shivered before slowly walking towards the entrance. Today was a new day for him. Today was the start of the rest of his life. Runningcloud // She looked up from what she was doing with Deerkit and smiled at Diskko, nodding her head and waving to him. "Say goodbye to the good loner, kits," she beckoned, waving farewell to Diskko as he exited SerenityClan camp.
She returned to the kits and rolled onto her side so that the kits could play with her. However, she saw Cyanfeather and lifted up her head. "What's wrong, dear?" She tilted her head.We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days... Through the fire and the flames we carry on! [/blockquote]

. Lionkit . . Through the eye of the storm . Lionkit let out a little meow of surprise as Diskko started to tickle his long amber tummy, his ochre eyes glowered up at the big loner with the unfairness he felt. As he was about to bat away one of the loners paws another amber male jumped into him, his little kit brow furrowed in frustration as he started to tussle with the large Autumn'star'. 'You will never beat me, Autumnstar! No one can beat Lionstar! I'm invincible!' Lionkit smiled in wicked play as he pushed his large amber paws in the other kits face to get him away so he could stop Diskko from leaving. He pulled out from his den-mate and ran in front of the loner, his swampy coloured eyes wide with frustration. 'Why are you leaving us Diskko? Don't you want to stay and play with me?' Lionkit turned his fluffy amber head towards Runningcloud as she told him, Deerkit, and Autumnkit to say good-bye. He straightened up and held his small fluffy head high not letting anyone see that he was very sad to see the loner go. 'Good-byee Diskko, come visit us sometime when I'm leader' A small smile crept up onto his maw. Lionkit knew he would be leader, he just knew it was his fate.

deerkit The dainty kit continued to watch. She glanced shyly at Aetherkit as he passed her, but said nothing. She was never one to say the first word in a conversation. She started as a voice said her name. Deerkit turned around, her chocolate brown eyes wide. She quailed away from Runningcloud, lip quivering. "Y-y-y-y-yes?" she mewed, her voicwe stuttering and shaking with fear. She jumped at Autumnkit's touch. Though his words were supposed to soothe her fear, they did nothing. Deerkit stared fearfully at the medicine cat, until Cyanfeather's appearance distracted her. The small cat turned and made a beeline for the nursery, as quickly as possible. She pushed her way inside, stumbling over a loose twig. Deerkit headed through the warm tunnels, the familiar scent soothing her tension. Suddenly she tripped, landing on her chin. She had reached Cyanfeather's nest, and caught her paw on one of Aetherkit's hind paws. "Sorry!" she squeaked, ears flattening.

Diskko halted in his steps when Lionkit stepped out in front of him. I'd love to stay, but I can't. I don't actually live here. He couldn't help but chuckle a little bit. I promise I'll come back and visit. He ruffled the fur on the tom-kit's head. Bye! He smiled at Runningcloud and the kits before stepping into the forest. [/color]

Aetherkit let out a squeak when he was tripped over, turning around to see who it was. When he saw Deerkit his own apology dried up in his throat, how could he talk to a she-cat...?! Sure, he talked to Amaranthkit and Brokenkit, but they were his sisters. They didn't count. Opening his mouth, then closing it again, Aetherkit just stared at her. Not in a creepy way (at least I hope not...) but in an I-seriously-don't-know-how-to-talk-to-you way. It was kind of cute, actually, the way he finally drew in a breath and spoke with more of a stutter than he had ever had before. "S-s-s-sorry D-d-d-d... Deerkit!" he gasped, pushing his nose into the mossy bed, his eyes darting around, resting on her face every second or two. "I-i-i-it's n-n-not your fault..." [/blockquote]

deerkit The fluffy silver tortoiseshell blinked her large brown eyes at the other kit. She pawed anxiously at her face. She wanted to hide herself, but she couldn't. There was nowhere to hide. Her eyes grazed the sleeping forms of Toxickit, Amaranthkit and Brokenkit. She hoped they wouldn't wake. "It was my fault," she mewed quietly. "I... I wasn't looking where I was going." The small cat stared at her paws. Maybe... Maybe Aetherkit might like to play with her? Just maybe? She glanced up, trying to pluck up the courage to ask him. Her tail twitched with nerves. She was getting worked up over her own hesitation. "Do... Would... Would you like to play with me?" She blurted out the words, then smarted with embarrasment, her pointed ears flattening.

Aetherkit peeked up at Deerkit, his eyes wide, not with shock but with confusion. She wanted to play with him? Really and truly? Toxickit had asked him to play countless times before, but that had only gotten him in trouble... He glanced at Toxickit's sleeping form, then at Deerkit, looking much, much taller than she actually was from his perspective. Deerkit seemed much better to play with than Toxickit right now, he decided. Sure, Toxickit was fun to play with, but he seemed to love breaking the rules. Deerkit didn't seem to be like that. He got up, his eyes on his wood-colored paws. "O-okay... What do you want to... play?" he looked at her but looked away again from shyness. "I mean... maybe we could play... leaders, or something, or maybe..." he stopped himself before he could ramble on. The tomkit glanced towards the exit to the nursery, and he quickly flicked his tail towards it. "Uh, um... How about we go outside...?" he started towards it, then waited for Deerkit to follow. This was going to be an alkward day. Like the blind leading the blind. [/blockquote]

deerkit The fluffy kitten's mouth turned upwards into a tiny smile as Aetherkit accepted her offer. Waves of pleasent surprise tickled the very corners of her scrawny frame. But then uncertainty doused it. Did she really know how to play? She'd seen Aetherkit playing with his brother Toxickit. That wasn't the kind of play she liked. But Aetherkit had never really seemed to like it that much, either. After he suggested something, she felt realived. She had seen many kits playing leaders before. It wasn't hard. She nodded at his request to go outside. It seemed sensible, even though scary Runningcloud was out there. The small cat hung back, waiting for Aetherkit to lead. She started forward again as he hesitated, then broke into a scamper. She nosed her way out of the brambles and stood in the cold, mid-autumn light. "How... How about I'm Deer... Deerstar. And you could be, um.. Aetherstar?"
