rimuwood. the emptiness starts to drown the quiet corners of this town. Padding through the long grass was a tom. His green optics were open, taking in with a bitter resolution the dismal sky. It was grey, and a slight drizzle was noticeable in the air. It didn't matter to him, though. He was a CloudClan cat, and used to dealing with the awful weather. The humidity in the air caused his brown and cinnamon fur to stick to his lean frame as he walked. The grass and reeds brushed his pale underbelly as he walked by. He pricked his auds, one facing forwards and one sideways in the characteristic Rimuwood fashion.
Reaching the water, he took a small step in, dipping his forepaws in the cool water. It was cold, and it sent a shiver through his body. But the water was refreshing, and at least it wasn't raining or storming outside. Plunging his whole body in, the tom submerged himself in the cold lake. He shivered again, beginning to paddle around the lake, though staying close to shore. He hoped it didn't rain tonight, or else he would never dry off. And then his moss would get wet, and he would wake up in the morning with sore joints. But a swim was worth it. The lake was calm, and private.
Finishing his swim, the young warrior paddled to the shore and pulled himself out, his paws scrabbling on the pebbles until they broke through to the sand underneath. He sighed as he pulled himself up onto the bank, licking down a lock of errant wet fur. He let out a silent groan as he looked at the storm coulds above him, hoping for all the world they wouldn't let loose a torrent.

haloheart Small white paws carried Haloheart down towards the Wide Lake. Her pretty, wide blue eyes were fixed ahead, and her tail raised. Her ears were perked forward. The dismal weather did not effect her in the slightest. Giving herself the smallest of shakes, Haloheart emerged from the trees. She noticed one of her clanmates paddling about in the water, but ignored him, for now at least. Her eyes were on a shadow flitting about beneath the glassy surface of the lake. Haloheart crept forward, her white paws swift and silent. She crouched at the side of the lake, lashing out with one forepaw all of a sudden. A shining silver shape flew from the water, scattering droplets everywhere. Haloheart pounced, killing it quickly. She then looked up, and smiled at the other cat.
"Hi, Rimuwood."

rimuwood. the emptiness starts to drown the quiet corners of this town. Rimuwood padded along the grass, not really paying attention to anything at the moment. He yawned tiredly, licking his shoulder and continuing through the grass. He opened his mouth to scent, and sighed as the tantalizing scent of rabbit filled his mouth. Not expecting the scent of another cat, he blinked in surprise as Haloheart's soft scent infiltrated his muzzle. He turned, eyes shining boyishly, to find her. A flash of silver caught his attention, and he watched as the she-cat flashed her paw out and caught a fish. A tinge of envy ran through him then. As good a hunter as he was, one thing Rimuwood wasn't able to do was fish.
He started towards her, watching curiously as she pounced and killed it. He was nearing her when the white she-cat turned towards him, letting out a soft greeting. Taken somewhat by surprise, Rimuwood nodded towards her. "Hello, Haloheart. Nice catch." [/blockquote]

haloheart The small ginger tabby she-cat pushed the fish beneath a slightly bending fern. Haloheart then turned back to Rimuwood. She noticed the tinge of envy in his eyes. She was slightly confused, until she noticed him looking at the fish she had caught. The slender warrioress padded closer to the younger tom, licking one of her snowy white paws. "Rimuwood..." she mewed, hesitating. She didn't want to offend him. "Do you... Do you know how to fish?" She blinked shyly. She remembered how Brokenskull had encouraged her to swim. She had not been able to swim, or fish until recently, when she had finally got over her fear of water. Her heart thumped with love for Brokenskull. Without him she wouldn't be able to catch fish for the clan. She knew how that felt, which was why she was asking Rimuwood.

rimuwood. the emptiness starts to drown the quiet corners of this town. Rimuwood watched as her expression turned to one of confusion. He flicked his ears forwards, concerned as she seemed to struggle to find words. He padded closer to the white she-cat, sitting down a bit away from her and licking his shoulder non-chalantly. Was she alright?
He started, realizing that his envy must have showed through. The brown tabby watched as she glanced from the fish and back to him, the warrioress seeming to try to say something. He stared at the lake past her shoulder, watching the calm surface reflect the sparkling sunlight.
She said his name and it caught his attention. The drenched tom turned and blinked twice. "Do you know how to fish?" was the question, apparently. He shook his head, then stopped. Tilting his head quizzically, he opened his maw and then shut it. It wasn;t that he didn't know how to fish, it was that he wasn't any good at him.
"I'm not any good at fishing," Rimuwood told her honestly, twitching his whiskers to show that he meant it with good humour. "I mean, I can do it well enough to catch a fish- sometimes, at least. But I really prefer hunting on land. It may be odd for a CloudClan cat, but I don't like fishing." [/blockquote]

haloheart The small ginger tabby she-cat blinked at Rimuwood's response. She smiled, tilting her ears back. "Oh, I see," she mewed, lifting a paw to lick it. She shook herself, got to her paws and slid into the water. She grinded her paws against the water, soft bubbles drifting to the surface. She dove underneath the surface, the water raking through her fur. Haloheart surfaced, inhaling deeply. She then swam back to the bank and shook herself violently. She had forgotten that Rimuwood was there. She had soaked him all over again. "Sorry!" she burst out, giggling a little. She shook herself again, this time less violently, then sat on a rock. She sighed. It had no heat in it. The sun had long since stopped providing them with warm breezes and heat. "I hate winter," she commented gloomily.

rimuwood. the emptiness starts to drown the quiet corners of this town. Rimuwood nodded half-heartedly, giving a slight, nervous grin as she spoke. He watched in confusion as she got up from her spot on the grass and dived into the calm lake. He padded to where she had been, sitting down and hoping the sun would come out to dry his fur. Watching, his boyish green eyes sparkled with a slight joy as he watched the older she-cat swim. The breeze caught his damp fur, and the dirt attached itself to his damp feet.
Haloheart came out of the water and brushed by him, shaking herself and spraying him with water. Annoyed, the brown tabby tom leapt up to hiss angrily at her, but instead, a light chuckle escaped his brown maw.
"I'll never dry off at this rate!" he laughed, feeling like a kit. It had only been seven moons ago that he had stood in front of Stormstar and recieved a mentor.
He nodded wisely in response to her next comment. Licking his nose, the tom mewed. "I hate Leafbare too. But at least it rains too much to snow." [/blockquote]
