p i x i e kit.
Everyone had left for the Gathering. Night was setting in quiet nicely, and the whole Cloudclan camp was quiet. While everyone else seemed to have gone to sleep, one little kit had not.
Pixiekit paced around the nursery with jerky steps. Otterspirit had left, leaving Pixiekit and her four siblings to another queen. That hadn't been necessary, considering they had all just fallen asleep, noted Pixiekit as she turned her head to look at the sleeping bundles of fur. In fact, all of the kits had fallen asleep.
It annoyed Pixiekit. She had no one to play with at all. The warriors or apprentices would not be bothered. The elders would snap at her and fall back asleep. She growled a little bit, if you could call it that.
Maybe she could wake someone up... [/blockquote]

rhymekit A small grey and white tabby kitten lay curled up in the soft mossy nest that belonged to Otterspirit. Rhymekit was sandwiched between Spadekit, Oppositekit and Mirrorkit in such a way that she felt utterly warm and comfortable. Rhymekit stirred as Pixiekit's agitated steps disturbed her. She blinked open her lime green eyes moodily, opening her small jaws in a wide yawn that showed each of her pointed white teeth. Rhymekit eased herself away from her siblings and leapt down to join her wakeful sister. Her striped fur was sticking out, but she didn't mind. Rhymekit padded up to Pixiekit and poked the other kit in the side none too gently. "Whatcha doing? Why don't you go t'sleep?" her voice was still muffled by sleep, and sounded oddly quiet fot Rhymekit.

A black and white head popped out from the nest containing Dewstep's kits. Mysterious hazel eyes blinked owlishly, their hues identical to Astralhaze for some odd reason, before facing forward, focusing slightly on Pixiekit and Rhymekit. The she-cat mewed and pulled herself up onto the rim of the bed and yawned.
"Hi," she said softly, waving a paw. Though usually antisocial towards new things, the odd Loonkit considered Rhymekit and Pixiekit to be her sisters as much as Gannetkit (he caused so much drama so he just had to be a girl at heart), Jadekit, Carnationkit, and Septemberkit.
The now-awake femme padded over to the girls, smiling a bit.

Dewstep Dewstep woke with the start at the feeling of something moving next to her, a tiny patch of heat moving away. She looked worridly at her litter, seeing all four of her own flesh and blood but not precious little Loonkit. She felt that the tiny she-cat was as much of a daughter as her other three girls and had grown to love her quiet yet perky personality very much. She sat up, blinking, to see her 'daughter' with Pixiekit and Ryhmekit. She saw all 3 of them cast worried glances at her but she smiled. "It's okay girls. As long as you stay in here and be not too noisy you can stay awake. Just for tonight" she said softly, standing up and stretching, showing all of her ribs. She had done what she always did when she was depressed and had dramatically dropped weight, making her even more tiny, but she was making enough to feed her kits. Yawning, she lay down again, head on her paws. Carnationkit The creamy brown and white she-cat growled irritably as she felt the warmth leave from her right side. "Cold cold cold" she mumbled sleepily, sitting up to see Loonkit dissapearing over to Pixiekit and Ryhmekit. Noth bothering to check if it was ok with her mother she bounced after her foster sister, skidding to a halt next to her. "Hi!" Carnationkit said brightly, stretching the stiffness out of her limbs. "What are we doing?" she asked, still smilign her bright, happy grin. [/sub]

p i x i e kit.
Starclan must have been listening to her thoughts, because all of a sudden, Rhymekit, Loonkit, and Carnationkit popped out of the nursery to join her. She jumped up and down excitedly, a sudden change of mood. Hi you guys! She she crounched down, and pushed off from her back feet and twisted in the air. She landed ackwardly, but the femme didn't mind at all. I can't sleep 'cause it's too boring when everyone's gone. She grinned and looked at all three. She wasn't usually this excited, but she had so much pent-up energy. Let's play a game! Or go on a midnight adventure! [/blockquote]

__________L O O N K I T [settle the score with honor and blood] "Um...should we play hide-and-go-seek?" Loonkit asked quietly, tilting her head curiously. She smiled when Carnationkit popped up, eager to play with her denmates. The black and white kitten shook her tail high in the air. "I'm good at that!" She could barely be seen due to her pelt color.
Her eyes turned to Dewstep and the she-cat bent back her ears. "Yes, Momma." She raised up a paw to Pixiekit. "Ssshhh, Momma says to be quiet."

jadekit* She thought before nearly jumping out of her fur at Loonkit's voice. She jumped back, looking over at the she-cat before shaking her head. "Carnationkit is good at that also" Jadekit mewed, inclining her head towards her sister, jade-green eyes moving towards Carnationkit. She cleared her throat a couple of times, now noticing why she sounded funny. She hadn't spoken in a few days, having put herself in isolation the day after her father died. When it came to this depression, Jadekit was clearly like her mother, but also worse off, being still young, and yet so skinny and looking frail. [/ul]

p i x i e kit.
Pixiekit rolled her eyes a little at Loonkit. She was still mad at Dewstep for reprimading her when she had been defending Rhymekit when Gannetkit had made her cry. She hadn't really talked to her much since then. And anyway, it wasn't like Pixiekit even listened to her own mother. Well, she did, but Pixiekit still did her own thing most of the time.
Pixiekit nodded at Loonkit's suggestion. Hmm, I guess we could do that. She smiled. It'll be fun playing in the dark! The young kit jumped again playfully. I'm not it! [/blockquote]

rhymekit Rhymekit turned her wide, lamplike lime eyes onto Loonkit as the other kit appeared. "Hi!" she mewed. She didn't really know the kit, but having another kit here would surely make this even more fun! Rhymekit blinked as Jadekit appeared. She hoped the she-cat wouldn't ruin their fun. Yes, she was okay, but she could be a stuffy and bossy like she thought she was an adult already. But that was only sometimes, whereas Gannetkit was stuffy and bossy all the time. Rhymekit turned to stare at Loonkit as she urged them to keep quiet. Her eyes said it all. She's not my mummy. I don't have to do what she says. For once she held her tongue, and did not voice her thoughts. "Yaaaaaay, hide and seek! I wanna hide!" Rhymekit quivered, padding from paw to paw. "So who's gonna seek? Jadekit? Loonkit? Huh? Huh?" She turned her huge eyes from one kit to the next, her stubby tail raised.

"Um...I'll seek, I guess," Loonkit mumbled. Since Rhymekit asked and she figured Jadekit didn't want to be it, she would be it. The black and white she-cat sighed and lowered herself to her paws, covering her eyes.
"One...Two...Three...Four...Five...Six...Seven..."
Her counting urged everyone to hide.

Pixiekit grinned widely and crept away without a sound. She swung her head around, looking for a good place to hide. She quickly spotted the Bird's Wing, the wing-shaped rock that reached up towards the dark night. Whenever Stormstar held a clan meeting, he would stand up on top of it and broadcast his voice to the warriors below. Pixiekit would sometimes watch from the nursery's brambles, but she usually got bored because whatever the leader talked about was boring.
Pixiekit smiled to herself, and trotted toward the rock. She scooted behind it, and hid in the shadow. She giggled quietly as a plan formed in her mind. Loonkit, or whoever eventually found her, didn't know what they were in for. [/blockquote]

rhymekit The grey and white tabby kit's green eyes dazzled with excitement as Loonkit started counting. Her heart fluttered like a butterfly trapped in her chest. The she-cat darted off after her sister, but veered away from Pixiekit when she ran towards the Bird's Wing. She had a better idea. Rhymekit's paws thudded the grass as she ran towards the medicine den. She slipped inside, her body sly and silent. The small cat ducked underneath a tall, leaning fern and into the part where the herbs were stored. Rhymekit used her paws to push some weird spikey leaves out of a crevice, littering them across the earth. She then squeezed into the small hole, curling up so that her lime coloured eyes peered out of the entrance. Her breath was loud and obvious, so she forced herself to calm down, her body quivering slightly.

Even though Dewstep had told them not to leave the den, Loonkit could smell Rhymekit's and Pixiekit's scent trails leaving the nursery. She sighed and looked balefully over at her adoptive mother. "I'm going out to look for them, okay?" The quiet she-cat didn't wait for an answer. She pulled herself to all four paws and trudged outside.
She followed Rhymekit's scent to the medicine den, but the barrage of herb smells invaded the small she-cat's nose and made it impossible for her to root out the other female. Plus she didn't want to mess up Dragonflydance's stuff.
Loonkit sighed and turned around, retracing her steps and making her way to the Bird's Wing. She sat in front of it for a moment, smiling in awe up at the place where Stormstar and the past leaders had caterwauled their announcements. Dewstep had taught the she-kit many things, and Loonkit was very intelligent, absorbing everything like a plant.
She kept on Pixiekit's scent, keeping her head down and her tail up as she hunted down her 'sister'. She rounded the corner and looked up, going to tag her.

Pixiekit quickly stood on all four paws, and sank down on her two front paws. She had been practicing her crounch, and while it was not perfect, it was good enough for Pixiekit. She grinned to herself and waited.
Soon enough, Loonkit's scent waffed into the kit's nose. She saw her shadow as she almost reached the stone. And when Loonkit came into view, Pixiekit went into action.
GRRROOAARR!
She ran forward and leapt on Loonkit's shoulders, surprising her. I got you! She cried triumphantly. Her wide grin seemed to stretch from one cheek to the other, like the Cheshire Cat's. [/blockquote]

She jumped a badger length in the air and ran in the opposite direction with a loud set of squeaking. She stopped in the clearing, panting heavily. When she collected herself, Loonkit scowled. "Pixiekit, that was mean~!" the she-cat whined, sitting down grumpily. She ran back to the Bird's Wing and swatted at Pixiekit's ear. "You're it, scary meanie!"

Pixiekit fell back as Loonkit jumped up, scared out of her mind. Muhaha! The Pixiekit is almighty. She giggled loudly as Loonkit panted and huffed. [/blockquote] Soft pawpads touched the ground beneath as a pretty figure exited the nursery. It was no she-kit however, but the princely tomkit Gannetkit. But...he didn't look so princely. He didn't groom himself, letting himself fall in complete disarray. Dewstep groomed him, yes, but Gannetkit simply sat in the bed, curled up to hide the tears that stained the moss around him. He didn't think he'd be able to recover from his esteemed father's death.
Dull eyes faced forward. He wasn't paying attention when Loonkit leapt over him, and the tomkit screamed when he walked into Pixiekit's path and was promptly crashed into. The prince toppled, rolling to a stop and weakly stood up. He stared blankly at Pixiekit, opening his mouth to half-heartedly tell her off for ruining his princely composure but closed it with a soft pathetic mew. He sat down, staring at the ground.
"Sorry..." Even the scathing disdainful look in his eye had vanished.

rhymekit The grey tabby kitten began to grow impatient as she sat, crouched in the stinky den. The small she-cat frowned, pouting, as she heard shrieks coming from the camp. Rhymekit wriggled out of her little spot, herbs clinging to her pelt. In her anger, she ran over the herbs she had discarded, treading them into the grass. Rhymekit padded through the medicine den entrance. She frowned furiously at she spotted Loonkit and Pixiekit running around, giggling. "You're supposed to be finding me!" she wailed at them. She leapt at Loonkit, batting at the other kit's ears. Her anger seemed to have melted away - the swats were simple playfulness. As Gannetkit appeared, she turned to him, her wide green eyes bright. "Hi Gannetkit!" she exclaimed. "What's up? Huh?" She bounced up and down, her slightly dim personality not allowing the realisation that Gannetkit would still be upset over his father.

He didn't fidget in the way that kits normally would when seeing other kits play.

Pixiekit began to romp after Loonkit, when she promptly crashed into Gannetkit. Hey! She began to yell, but she saw the sad look on his face. She tilted her head, and narrowed her eyes. She had expected a yelling match, but the stuck-up tom wasn't talking.
She made a little 'humpff' noise. What's wrong, Gannetkit? She may act like a b****rd sometimes, but Pixiekit wasn't mean to those who were down in the dumps.

Pixiekit had never come across grief before. What was she supposed to do? Comfort him? But, as Jadekit walked out of the nursery and began to murmur to Gannetkit, she was pretty sure he was covered there. But then what? Pixiekit quickly got up, saying nothing to Loonkit. rhymekit The small kit watched as the scene unfolded. Of course, Gannetkit was upset about his father! She was such a beetle-brain! She forgot everything. She wanted to go and comfort the tom kit, but before she could even get to her paws, Jadekit was by his side. In a moment of rare wisdom, Rhymekit left it. The she-cat watched Gannetkit trail back into the nursery, her lime green eyes round as the full moon. As Loonkit began to whine, she turned to face the kitten. She frowned, a little line appearing on her brow. "I don't wanna play," she mewed, her bottom lip leaping out. This statement was incredibly odd, coming from Rhymekit's lips. "I wanna go see Daddy!" Leaping to her paws, she ran into the medicine den, then the warriors' den. "Daddy? Daddy?" Gannetkit's plight had made her want for her father even greater.

And so she was left there on her own.
The black and white kitten stared at the ground, swallowing slightly. She sniffled and rubbed her muzzle with a tiny paw before standing up and trudging back to the nursery. All the other kittens didn't want to play with her. Was it the way she acted? She promised, then, to not be excitable or whiny anymore. Loonkit, the calm and collected.
She walked to Dewstep's nest and pulled herself into it, laying down next to the much larger Gannetkit and snuggling against him, Carnationkit, and Septemberkit.
