runespell The pawsteps of Runespell thudded the lush green grass of the BrightClan territories. The lithe brown tabby tom's face was unhappy, his amber eyes unenthusiastic. He had lost his appetite for training Leafpaw ever since the day they had fallen out. He had been avoiding her, until today, when he had realised he had to train her, or she would tell Ghostlystar. Runespell's white paws crushed ferns in their wake, his long striped tail lashing behind him. I don't treat her differently! I don't, I don't! She's making it up, she's imagining things. She's just a silly little apprentice, probably looking for some attention! But no matter how many times he said it in his head, he couldn't believe it. She was Leafpaw. She was special. He wasn't sure why... She just was! Her bold face, bright eyes when she challenged him. Just like Pecankit. And yet this thought still did not make him twig the problem.
Runespell rounded a tall, solid oak, and caught sight of Leafpaw. He padded straight up to her, merely grunting in greeting, before launching straight into the training session. "Today we're going to have a competition," the words were bland and expressionless. He padded back into the trees, pulling free a large pigeon. "I caught thus pigeon on the way here. I want you to go and catch something bigger, if possible. Right, off you go." He sat down with his back to her, giving her no chance to interrupt him.
