(reserved for KEE!)
He had grown considerably from the time he had first set paw outside of the nursery. Aside from the occasional viset to the medicine cat's den to see his father, Spadekit never seemed to stray far from his home in the nursery, unlike his rowdy sisters. Spadekit now looked even more like his mother but with a darker peltage; he was sleek and streamlined and actually rather beautiful to look at. He didn't realize this, though, and so kept quiet about it (as it's pretty hard to gloat about something you're not aware of). He wasn't a close friend to any of the other kits but he wasn't ignored either, instead he liked his small voice of authority. If Rhymekit and Gannetkit fought - their little skirmishes often involved Pixiekit and Mirrorkit getting involved, too, much to all their mother's dismay - he was the one to break them up. He wasn't popular. He was reasonable.
He was quiet, too. The tomkit sat now, watching the sun set the sky ablaze with colors. It was nice. It was beautiful. He liked the sunset even better than the sun itself. If the world was his own, there would be sunset all the time. No day, no night, just the sunset, gracing the horizon twenty-four seven. Suddenly, he heard a slight rustling behind him, coming from the entrance to the nursery.
Who's there? [/b][/size][/blockquote]

[[ In the nursery, that summer evening, a small kitten sat. Her white paws looked small and dainty against her fluffy pelt. Every part of her seemed to have stopped growing while her sisters and brother continued to reach heights that she never would. Poor Septemberkit was a runt. Even if she didn't know it already, she would always be the little fluffy one with the small paws and stubby tail. Outside, she acted like she wanted to be like her father, massive and heavy-set. But really, she liked being small. She could hide easily and not have to show her face all the time. Septemberkit hadn't change much since you last heard from her. She was still quiet, more of an outcast in her litter and the only friend, if she could consider him a friend, was Spadekit. He was the only kit around her age, other than Jadekit and Carnationkit, that didn't fight with each other. But Carnationkit was a girly-girl and Jadekit was... to wise. Spadekit was the only one she could relate to. Or at least watch.
The tawny, brown, and white color she-cat hadn't actually spoken to him since the day he fell into her and she figured out his name. She just silently watched him and wondered if they would be friends. She imagined that they could just... look at each other and know how they were feeling. It was that wave that cats that don't talk much get. You know? Well I bet you don't, because Septemberkit didn't actually have a normal imagination. Or brain for that matter.
Tonight, she decided to stop watching him and take a stand. She would go out into the clearing and sit with him. To watch the sunset. Slowly, her dainty paws took her from the corner, her corner, of the den to the entrance and then through the brambly tiny hole of an entrance to the clearing. "Septemberkit," she answered softly and very quietly. Her voice was emotionless, but yet gentle and soothing at the same time. It was the only word she spoke, and probably would be one of the only words she would murmur that evening as she watched the sunset, but as she walked up beside Spadekit and sat her delicate small body down next to him. It was a beautiful evening and it wouldn't be disturbed by words.

It's important to know that Spadekit wasn't unfriendly. He wasn't mean or snappish or rude, although occasionally he'd yell at his sisters for fighting over and over again. He was happy now that it was Septemberkit who sat with him now, instead of a noisy kitten like Gannetkit (who probably wouldn't stop comparing himself to the beautiful sunset had he been here now) or Rhymekit (who would be asking over and over again for him to play a game with her). He loved his sisters, but he still liked some time alone. Sure, he wasn't alone now. But Septemberkit was quiet; they could just sit together and know that even though they were both absorbed in their own thoughts and senses that there was another cat beside them. And, most importantly, Spadekit added, they could be content with that.
Summer was a wonderful time to stay out late, as Spadekit had recently learned. The days were hot and sticky but the evenings were cool but not cold. Spadekit had yet to truely feel leaf-fall's cold, but by the sound of it the storms and snow was pretty bad. He was only four moons at this point, and Septemberkit was older than him by a moon or so. What a shame... his only friend (she was his friend, wasn't she?) would be leaving for the apprentice's den in only a matter of time.
Do you like the sunset, too, Septemberkit? he had to admit, he was rather proud that he could say her name and speak properly now. His voice still had a kittish charm to it, but now it was much more mature than it had been. The tomkit smiled slightly at her before looking back to the horizon, where the sun was just a sliver left in behind the rolling hills. [/blockquote]

[[ What was weird about Spadekit was, she could be herself with him. Truly, she was a very gentle and kind cat, but when she was around cats that couldn't be trusted, or those that just didn't click with her, she was most of the time mean or ignored them completely. To Septemberkit, it was better to express no feelings at all, rather than to express her weak personality to those that she didn't know. Yes, you could call her wary, but that's just the way she is. So when others tried to find out personal things about her, she would lash out, there for loosing that possible friend. So now you understand why this young kitten had barely any friends. She was maturing faster than any kit out there, other than Jadekit, who was born wise. And believe me, one day when the time is right and she was with cats she could trust more than anything, she will let her personality roam free among the CloudClanners. But only until she wasn't weak as she is now. She wouldn't let anyone, ANYONE, step all over her.
This is why she could be friends with Spadekit. She knew that he would never step all over her weak self. So today, she let herself go out to him. It was almost like a sigh of relief when her little barrier broke free. Her shoulders relaxed and her face changed from emotionless to a smile. A soft gentle relaxed smile. It wasn't even at Spadekit, more to herself because finally she was able to drop that large chained fence around her dainty self to show Spadekit that she wasn't mean or sad. She was just hiding it from those that could step all over her. In her mind, she begged for Spadekit to understand. Maybe not today, but someday. He was her only friend and probably one of the only cats she would ever open up to. They were alike in many ways that I can't explain.
She had to admit, Spadekit's voice had changed in the past two moons or so since they first talked. He could actually say Septemberkit. The kittish charm was still there, but it was cute. She would miss him when it was time to be an apprentice. "Yes, especially the colorful sky. It's like one giant rainbow looming over us," her voice was surprisingly fluent but as soft as it was earlier. Her green eyes flicked over to him and they smiled along with her smiling muzzle. Septemberkit also turned her head to the sunset, looking at the yellow sun and pinkish orange sky. And just like that, the sliver of sun was gone, leaving the beautiful sky to follow behind her. Then dusk would settle over them and Dewstep would call her in to sleep.

(( Sorry this is so late. :[ ))
Spadekit agreed with her. She was easy to agree with, he decided, because the two thought alike in multiple ways. She didn't seem to like most other cats, but Spadekit knew that no matter what the others thought of her... she was open and thoughtful around him. He liked that about her. There were plenty easy-to-find things about other cats that made them likeable, but with Septemberkit those things were timid, hiding behind a tough exterior. If only she showed those soft sides more often... He shook his head, banishing the previous thought. If she changed at all, she wouldn't be Septemberkit.
It's like all the other cats are too busy to take the time to look at this, he mused, half to himself. He smiled up at the sky as twilight surrounded him and Septemberkit. Like he said, the warriors probably barely noticed that twilight came and went every night, and that every night they missed such a sight. He changed his mind, if the world was his own the day would be full of sunsets and the night would look just like this: not bright but not dark, like the world was wondering if it wanted to go back to sunshine or settle down for nighttime. Obviously, the result was always the latter but it was a nice thing to think about. Sometimes night was nicer than day... [/blockquote]

]] No problem! ^^
[[ A thought occurred to Septemberkit as she sat there with her friend. What if there were more Spadekits in this world? What if there were several cats in CloudClan that had his personality and they just connected in that same way? Would she talk to them like she talked to Spadekit and understood him unlike any other cat? No probably not. There could be no cat in this world exactly like Spadekit because he was so different and so unique. But if there were more cats in the Clan were as trustworthy as him, would she open up to them? And if she did, would that change her? She didn't want to be preppy and outgoing like Carnationkit and Rhymekit were. The thought made her sick. They trusted everyone to play with and talk to. That just wasn't Septemberkit's style. But if she did open up to other cats, would she become a preppy girlie she-cat. The thought made her shiver, but Spadekit's voice brought her thoughts back to the sun.
Thank StarClan Spadekit was there, or Septemberkit could've had a panic attack. One cat was enough to open up to for now. Maybe those who could stop to just look at the beautiful sunset would be those she could open up to. Maybe. "Yes. I believe that. Sometimes I'm too busy to look at it," the tawny, brown, and white she-cat agreed. Busy doing what, watching Gannetkit and Rhymekit argue? Yeah right. Listening to the elder's stories? A possible answer, yes. Or maybe watching the Clan unravel after a long day of hunting a fighting. Most of the time, yep! Sighing softly, Septemberkit smiled and turned to Spadekit. You know what? If more cats stopped doing whatever and realized how lucky we are and how beautiful this world is all these snotty bratty cats could be much more grateful," she meowed and grunted. It felt good voicing out her opinion, which was something she never did.
