greenfinch and linnetbird,
nightingale, blackbird
how is it you sing?
Linnet is barely visible when the moon rides high. She slips into shadows, becoming one of them, rather than betraying her skant feline form. Linnet walks on small, graceful paws. They are slender and delicate, looking perfectly innocent but hiding sharp claws that will shed blood without hesitation. Don't be fooled by Linnet's cute looks. She is not a cat to cross. Her paws lead into her limbs, which are fairly long, supple and slender. She is a very agile cat, finding it easy to run quickly and fit through small gaps. Her reflexes are excellent, so ambushes probably won't work on this cat. Linnet's shoulders are flat rather than bulky, made for speed and flexibility rather than power. Her back curves deeply into a long, whippy tail. Linnet's head is rounded, but her muzzle is slightly more pointed than the average cat's, giving her an older, more sophisticated look. Her nose is s small black nub at the end of her muzzle. Linnet's eyes are very wide, and a pale grey colour, not amber-red like her father's, or green like her mother's, but a pale, misty grey. Her pupils are thinner than the usual kits. Her ears sit atop her head demurely, pointed and perfect.
Linnet has a thick, smooth, soft coat of fur that covers her entire small body. It has a sleek, shiny sheen to it. In daylight, it glows with rows of scarlet in daylight, and a wash of white under the eye of the moon. The actual hue of her coat is simple. Deep, dark black. It is the black of the darkest night sky, the black of a ravem's plumage. Linnet's fur lengthens into sweet little tufts in some places, making her look decievingly cute and innocent.
Linnet is not as sweet as she looks. Not by any stretch of the imagination. She may look adorable, and act it, but do not be fooled. It may just be the last thing you ever do. Linnet is very like her mother, Chaosfire. She has ways of making cats do things, has ways of getting her own way. One of these is her looks. She can charm pretty much any cat with her huge eyes and cute little tufts of fur. If this does not work, she will use threats. It does help being the daughter of the most notorious rogue leaders. Linnet is very clever and sly or her age. She will play tricks on her siblings, usually poor Liberty, just because she wanyts to try something out. These tricks usually involve a high risk of death, a minor detail that merely makes the experiment more fun to watch. Linnet delights in death. She delights in the power she weilds in her paws. One of her favourite hobbies is waiting at the mouth of Blood Cave for insects to trek past. Then she will kill them in imaginable, violent ways. She refuses to use the same way twice. Linnet wants to be just like her mother when she is older. Feared and loathed by the clans, whom she hates - this hate having been passed down from both of her parents. It's probably best to stay away from this kit. Ignore her eyes, ignore her threats - just run as fast as you possibly can.
whence comes this melody
constantly floating?
is it rejoicing or merely aloaming?
are you discussing?
or fussing?
Vampirekit was born in MoonClan, one of the five clans of the Black River Forest. His mother was named Shreddeddaisy. Vampirekit was born with an abnormality that cursed his entire life - two oversized canine teeth protruding over his lip. Even his mother, and brothers, Steelkit and Mistkit, feared them. He was avoided in the nursery, shunned by the other kits. Due to this, Vampirekit became cruel and bitter. He took to killing insects and small animals to occupy himself. One morning, when he awoke near his mother and brothers, all three were dead. There were no obvious causes for their sudden deaths. The clan immediatly blamed Vampirekit, though there was no sign that he had done anything. Thornstar immediatly tried to get rid of the kit, but a queen named Shadowpelt offered to nurse him. She alone believed he was innocent. Vampirekit loved her more than he had ever loved Shreddeddaisy. When he was six moons old, no cat but Shadowpelt would mentor him. And so, she did.
Vampirepaw was involved in a fight with another apprentice, Weedpaw. Weedpaw had been teasing him about having no family, and had come off worse in the fight. He accused Vampirepaw of attacking him for no reason. So Vampirepaw was exiled. Shadowpelt left MoonClan to be with him, and they became Shadow and Vampire. They vacated a barn in the neutral lands. Cats would stop off here to rest whilst travelling. A few moons later, Vampire found Shadow dead. She had been killed by a dog. He was devestated. In the same day, he found a she-cat who had been kicked by a cow, and needed help. Reluctantly he let her stay, still greiving for Shadow. The she-cat's name was Blood. Over time, Blood and Vampire fell in love. Upon becoming mates, they felt the barn and found a cave. They made it their own in many different ways. It became Blood Cave, a place feared far and wide.
Blood bore Vampire's kit: Rage, Sin, Apocalypse, Ivy and Scythe. But halfway through their youth, Blood disappeared. And did not return. Vampire became angry and crueller than ever. When his kits were twelve moons old, they left Blood Cave, and he was alone again. Seasons later, a she-cat named Chaosfire came to him. She asked him to stand by her side as the leader of a rogue group, bent on destroying the clans. Vampire agreed. Together, they formed a fierce army of rogue's. Chaosfire then bore Vampire's kits - a match made in hell. Chaosfire's cunning and cruel wit and Vampire's strength and power made five kits. Four satisfactory, one not so much. The first was Linnet, a black-coated female. The second, Shyam, a silver striped male. Next was Shane, a tom the spitting image of his father. Then Mien, a white kit with ebony slices over her pelt. And then there was Liberty. A white kit. Who did not understand her parents' wishes.
And how the family will wreak havoc on the Black River Forest.
singing to be sold?
have you decided it's safer in cages
singing when you're told?
my cage has many rooms
damask and dark...
PAINTING PORTRAITS OF GHOSTS!!!
nightingale, blackbird
how is it you sing?
[/color]linnet
how can you jubilate she-cat
sitting in cages newborn
never taking wing? no clan
outside the sky waits none
beckoning, beckoning!
just beyond the bars!
how can you remain
staring at the rain
maddened by the stars?
